The reason for the closure is that YMCA will be knocking down the rear part of the building, where we currently have 22 flats, as well as the need to close the Sports Hall area for a major redevelopment which will see 60 purpose built rooms, with a kitchen on each floor, for our supported housing clients to use.
The gym and sports hall are situated opposite The Pavilion Theatre and Ballroom in our main premises at 56 Westover Road, Bournemouth BH1 2BS, just a short walk from the cafés, bars and shops of Bournemouth town centre.
We believe that being fit and healthy should not be a luxury but accessible to all. Our pricing system therefore ensures that the facilities are affordable and available to all income groups.
Our sports hall, also located in the main building on Westover Road, is the only full-service sports hall for hire in central Bournemouth. Its fantastic town centre location makes it both easy to get to and ideal for socialising after sports practice.

A few years ago, the Junction’s gymnasium was fully refurbished and modernised. The Junction’s manager Martin Stockley was delighted to welcome AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe to the centre to open the new facility.

Fantastic experience: Coz it's clean, staff r friendly and very supportive. Also everyone in the place has built my confidence up due to the fact I use there gym and I was really insecure about using a gym but everyone helped my over come my insecurities and now I attend regularly. Negative experience: I visited this place once when I was trying to find a in Bournemouth - didn't like it! It was actually a motel for recovering addicts. But personally it looked like a brothel! Such a shame they had these restrictions; it had a nice canteen and a very cool gym.
