Our comment from FitFit UK about Pendle Wavelengths:
Pendle Wavelengths is a fantastic family-friendly leisure center located in the heart of the UK, offering a range of activities for all ages. Visitors have praised the facility for its affordable prices, with family tickets available, making it an excellent choice for a day out. The wave machine and water slide are particularly popular among children, providing lots of fun and excitement. Many users highlighted the friendly staff and clean changing facilities, contributing to a pleasant overall experience.
While the center boasts many positive aspects, some users reported issues during busier times, such as long waiting times and crowded conditions in the pool area. Several comments also mentioned the need for improved cleanliness in certain areas and a better communication system regarding capacity limits. Despite these concerns, many families continue to return due to the variety of activities and value for money it offers.
Overall, Pendle Wavelengths is a hidden gem for families looking for a fun aquatic experience, with additional amenities like a café and a relaxing spa area, making it a well-rounded destination.
Pendle Wavelengths: Opinions
Positive experience: Perfect for children's party. We had a great experience when attending one.
Thank you so much for your review Deya. We're so pleased you had a good time at our pool.
Positive experience: Great new gym refurb however way to many machines in relatively small spaces. Especially the free weights section. Almost feel like you are working out with the person next to you!
Hi Zak, thanks for your review. Apologies that you feel the new gym is too compact. We have tried to get as much new equipment in the space as we can to accommodate different types of gym goers, lots of it being much larger than the previous versions. Have you tried our other gyms available on the Activo membership that have different layouts compared to Pendle Wavelengths?
Fantastic experience: Good pool,great staff
Fantastic experience: We came to use the spa for my birthday and we had the Rasul treatment and it was amazing. Wasn’t overly busy and the staff were so friendly and helpful. It really was a lovely visit.

Fantastic experience: It's good mainly if you have younger siblings or kids If your a adult reading this
Fantastic experience: Had a family spa day with afternoon tea, we all loved it!
Thank you so much for your review Pauline. We're so pleased you and the family enjoyed your spa day.
Fantastic experience: The spa is quite small but it’s totally worth it and you won’t regret going.
Thank you so much for your review and stars Vani
Fantastic experience: Great no need to book took 13 year old and 2 year old both loved it
Thanks so much for your review Jackie
Positive experience: A nice place to chill but the pool timings are different on google and different if u call them so please change if u can I would have rated it 5 star.
Thank you for your revew. Apologies for any timing miscommunication. We will check these to ensure we're aligned in future.
Negative experience: This swimming pool was disgusting! We got there at 4pm and the waves had stopped (the main reason we chose it). The changing rooms were filthy. The showers clogged up with hair and empty bottles. The swimming pool looked murky. The lifeguards were just chatting whilst kids were playfighting in the pool. The whole thing was just disgusting and we felt filthy after!
Positive experience: Really crowded inside the pool, made it impossible to swim more that 2 feet. Changing rooms were a little bit dirty aswell.
Hi Lisa, we're very sorry to hear about your experience. We will feed this back to our staff as this is not the normal runnings of our facility. We hope to welcome you back in the future for a better experience.
Fantastic experience: Cool waves and slide that took 10-20 mins wait. Floating pads that you could play with. No wait time to enter pool.
Thanks so much for your review Matthew!
Negative experience: I went to waveleghts with my friend I was going on th pound bouny castle when the life guard was puting water on me for no reason I ask em to stop but they carried on
Negative experience: I came to wavelengths to enjoy a swim with a few of my friends but when I got to the pool I realised I wasn't going to enjoy anything. The lifeguard James woke up and chose to be rude. He kicked me and my friends out after a minor argument that took place in the swimming pool. He was very angry at us even though the argument wasn't caused or started by us. 1 star experience. Extremely disappointed
We have behaviour guidelines that must be adhered to within and around our facilities. Should any customer breach these guidelines, we are obligated to take appropriate action to ensure that the experience of other customers is not negatively affected. In certain cases, this may require asking customers to leave if they’re unable to comply with these standards.
Negative experience: Staff at counter are nice but when u go in the actual pool it’s a different story very rude and normally if there is an altercation they will take sides and will not check and only listens to one side of the story and will lie when I ask them y u are getting kicked out

Fantastic experience: It's great for kids to have fun. I'm disabled and can not climb steps, whereas the entrance to the pool is a walk-in, so that's great
Thanks so much for your review Jackie, we're so pleased you and the kids enjoy our pool!
Fantastic experience: This place is brilliant it's not busy at all except certain places but it's really good
Thank you so much for your review Elsie
Fantastic experience: Great value for money
Positive experience: Brilliant place to take the kids for a paddle they loved it. Bit of a cue to get in but they got through everyone quickly, pool is a good size with a wave machine. There's a water slide which is great but looks like it needs a bit of TLC bit rusted and leaky in places but works ok. Also someone had their phone out taking pictures when it clearly states no pictures. He was only taking pictures of his kids but still the life guard wasn't bothered and said nothing. Changing rooms were clean and there's plenty of baby changing cubicles. It's reasonably priced with lockers for a £1. Didn't have a pram bay but the pram was fine just next to the pool where we could see it. Café is brill and a god send after swimming if you need a brew. Will definitely be back
Thank you so much for your review Charlotte, we're so pleased that you'll be back!
Fantastic experience: Kids had a great time

Fantastic experience: Great facilities and lovely staff. Changing area is really nice. My kids loved the water slide and wave machine.
Thank you so much for your review Nathan, we're so glad you and your family enjoyed your experience with us!
Positive experience: Summary: This place is worthy of 5 Stars with its facilities but the 45 minute queue outside to get in started me on a 1 Star. - Positive Aspects - For the price and what is available, this place is an absolute gem to visit with the family. We spent £20 on a family ticket for a family of five and we had a brilliant time. The water slide is fantastic and the Waves are pretty decent for the children under 11 years old. Breaking this down, per person it's £4 for waterslides and waves and stay as long as you want. Another pool we visit in Chorley is £5 per person, have a basic 'twirly park' waterslide which is never operating and you are given an hour which is never long enough or value for money (includes changing etc). The unlimited time meant we could exhaust the kids . Another comparison is Blackpool Sandcastle which have no family tickets and is £20-£24 per person working out to be an eye-watering £104 for a family of five. Sure the slides etc supercede what Pendle Wavelengths offer, but we're talking £20 for a whole family for a local visit and something fantastic value to do over the Easter holidays. The mini cafe by the pool is also good, something that most leisure centres miss out on. - Negative Aspects - Being a very rainy half-term weekday, before visiting, we contacted the centre to see if it was open, that the facilities were all operational (good tip) and if it was too busy. We were assured that there was a "small queue" to get in but all in all fine. We arrived to a busy car park. I've seen from reviews that parking can be a nightmare here, but luckily we found a space as someone was leaving. We arrived to a 20 person queue, so we waited patiently... and waited... and waited... There was a lady with a baby next to us, and everyone in the queue didn't know what was going on. After 15 minutes someone went to the front to ask what was happening and one of the very young members of staff at the desk advised that the centre is having to monitor numbers coming in and out due to being so busy. When asked how long it might be, she said she had no idea. After a further 15 mins we noticed that between 60-70 people had left whilst the queue of 20 people in front us still hadn't heard anything (there were 30 behind us). After over 30 mins of waiting we noticed that the very front of the queue started paying and going in, so everyone shouted a semi-sarcastic YAAY! and we proceeded forwards, only until realising that around 8 people were let in and then there was a further hold on people going in with no explanation . Over the next 10 minutes we noticed that another 20-30 people left and still nothing other than another member of staff apologising for the wait and that they're operating on a numbers coming in and out policy, but we were confused and worked out a HUGE number had left and only around 8 went in. We noticed that the main manager (her name was on the wall) walked past us and she didn't even explain further or apologise. Everyone was very agitated including the 1000x "when are we going in" from the kids including those around us. After waiting 45 minutes we got to the desk to pay and the member of staff told us that they had a huge influx of visitors go in before we arrived and so the reason why we needed to wait is that they needed a huge exit of visitors to leave for it to be safe. This makes total sense and thoroughly understandable, but we were not pre-warned this over the phone and even if it was a rare one-off, a simple accurate notification from a member of staff as we came in "oh by the way, we're really sorry but you might be here 30+ minutes due to us receiving a huge amount of visitors before you arrived, meaning we're unable to cope with the levels and so you'll need to wait till they leave." The staff didn't seem bothered that we had to wait that long. We felt incredibly let down upon arrival, but luckily the experience inside made up for it and the kids had a brilliant time, but what a huge shame about the management and poor communication as we arrived.
Thank you for your thorough review of our centre Paul. We're very pleased to hear that overall you and your family had a great time inside our facility. During the school holidays as you can imagine we do get very busy as we get not only locals but people who do travel far to come and experience our pool/slide/waves etc. We're very sorry that you got caught up on one of our busier spells and will take your feedback on board to ensure we have better communication during this time. As you mentioned with the weather being poor, we do become even busier due to us being an affordable indoor activity for families and can never be 100% sure when the larger queues will start. One thing I will mention is that our facility not only has the pool but also a gym, fitness studio, and spa and therefore the people leaving may not have necessarily been from the pool but from another area of the centre. All in all I hope we can welcome you and your family back in future. Thanks again
Fantastic experience: I’ve always come here since I was a kid now I’m taking my kids here not much really changed
Fantastic experience: Great place to take the kids. Loved the big slide
Thanks so much for your review Dean!
Fantastic experience: Went for a spa session for the first time. From getting booked in all the way to using the spa, it was a memorable experience. The spa itself was very clean, too. Will be aiming to go once a month from now on as it's helped with my body just relaxing from all the stressful elements, including a few niggling in juries and muscle soreness
Fantastic experience: Lovely spa, great atmosphere and very helpful staff. First time visit today would highly recommend, can't wait to return in 2 weeks
Thank you so much for your review Linda. We're so pleased you had a great time.
Positive experience: Decided to give Pendle wavelengths a try today with my teenager and 8 year old. Parking was a total nightmare! it took us about 30 min to park, we have a blue badge and there were not many disabled parking spaces. In the end we managed to squeeze in to a normal bay. The changing area is located right at the side of the swimming pool, meaning people can just walk in with dirty shoes. The changing area was narrow, and very busy. Rules state you have to take a shower before entering the pool , as standard. However the showers were located in the toiler area, where members of the public also enter to use the toilets in their dirty shoes. The shower area was located adjacent to the toilets, in a small room. We had to wait to use them , as they were full from people showering after leaving the pool. Meaning we had to que in the already crowded narrow changing room area, it was chaos! You then access the pool across a tabled area , where people are eating and their was dirt and dropped food in the area. I was surprised at how small the pool was , it was packed. Meaning you are not able to really swim at all. The pool seemed to be above any sort of safe capacity. The life guards were constantly doing head counts , of people already in the pool, I would suggest that maybe the head count should be done before people are allowed to enter. The small area suitable for younger swimmers and family, was tired and could have done with refurbishment. There were a few floats available to the public but they were tired looking and in need of replacement. The slide leaked water on to diners below from some of the joins , rectified with a a parasol on those tables to keep the water off anyone using the table. But making the floor in those areas real wet. Meaning those wearing shoes, that water was dirty and running off into the pool. The café area was limited, the food option was just some chips and crisps or chocolate, and some prepacked muffins, cookies or other cakes. Would have been nice to have more options for food. I ended up paying £9 for 3 cans of pop , 2 small muffins and a cookie. The locker was real hard to open and the floor area in the changing area was just real dirty, i was going to have a shower before leaving, but there again was a long que , from people also wanting a shower before leaving and those needing a shower before entering the pool. The kids had a reasonable good time, but my eldest was not able to swim at all, as the pool was just too full. there was no area marked off for just a swim. it was just a busy over crowded pool, full of screaming kids arguing over floatables, jumping in to the pool from the sides constantly. all 3 of us had real stinging eyes from the water. usually this is due to a high urine content. The staff were friendly enough, but sadly i do not think i will come here again,
Fantastic experience: Good value for a family outing. Beach style pool with floats, wave machine, flume and cafe. Gets busy weekend mid morning. Would be better if swimming lessons weren't on at busy times.
Thanks so much for your feedback Daniel!
Positive experience: It was really good, little expensive but the waves and slide is really good. I thought the inflatable hour was the big obstacle inflatable so the website could be more specific but otherwise was good fun
Fantastic experience: First time coming here today and can't fault it at all will definetly be coming back. The pool, waves and slide all good fun for my daughter and me to.
Thank you so much for your review Phil, we hope to see you both again soon!
Positive experience: Very good, great for my daughter. Unfortunately not many wave sessions as they were working around swimming lessons so that was slightly disappointing especially with it being a weekend but hey ho, people have to learn to swim.
Thank you very much for your review John!♀️
Fantastic experience: Great place. The only downside is the over exuberance of Parking Wardens that can't wait to issue tickets. Nelson is a dying town regarding shops etc. Traffic wardens need to concentrate on cars parked on pavements to escape yellow lines.
Hi Shaun thank you for your review!
Positive experience: Nice pool with one slide and waves . Shame the last waves are 3.50 so kids always miss them. The junior gym us great ! My son loves it.
Thank you for the feedback Sara!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant day out for adults and children. We've been going to nelson waves for years. Food is good and priced fairly, and the entrance fee to get in is very well priced, too. The waves are on very frequently, and there are lots of life guards on duty. The changing facilities are clean and lots of them too.
We really appreciate your stars Tanya, thanks so much!
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place ,it's an absolute bargain ,my 2 kids and I come here alot and love it every time we go got slide and wave machine theres a cafe inside, good fitness ,fun and for the price great place to take the family
Thanks so much for your review Nathan, great to hear you enjoy coming to Wavelengths!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic venue fun place to bring the kids waves water slide and floats to play with brilliant
Thanks so much for your review John, great to hear you enjoyed Wavelengths!
Fantastic experience: Nice facilities. Kids loved the waves and slide. Friendly staff.
Thanks so much for your feedback Benny, we're so glad to hear you enjoyed Pendle Wavelengths!
Negative experience: Absolute waste of time. Traveled 10 miles to be told there's no wrist bands left! No mention of this on the website. Very upset kids and going off other reviews this place needs closing down!! Receptionist was rude and couldn't care less!
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. We're sorry that you didn't have a great experience with us and appreciate the pools can sometimes get very busy sometimes. I have passed on your feedback to see what we can do to improve the communications here and avoid disappointment in future.
Fantastic experience: A great swimming pool for families of all ages. The facilities are decent and it's in clean condition (if a little rusty in places). The wave machine is always a hit with the kids and the slide doesn't have any height or age restriction so can be enjoyed by the little ones as well. Nice to have a cafe by the pool as well, even if the food has been obliterated by a 16 year old chef.
Hi Martyn, Thank you so much for your review!
Negative experience: Hello there, I've been attending this facility for six months now, but unfortunately, my friends and I have been continuously bullied by the lifeguards. It seems like they have a serious attitude problem or lack proper training. I don't usually like to bring up the race card, but there is a clear favoritism issue when it comes to distributing floats. It seems like they never see me or acknowledge my presence. I once asked a lifeguard why they never pass me a float, and their response was threatening, saying I better be quiet or they would kick me out of the pool. Recently, a lifeguard approached me and accused me of running. I calmly explained that I had just arrived and suggested they check the security cameras. Shockingly, the lifeguard claimed there were no cameras and that it was their word against mine, ultimately banning me from the pool. It's disheartening to see such a great facility being run by individuals who behave like thugs. I am determined to take this matter further, but the problem lies in the fact that when you complain about the lifeguards to the manager, instead of addressing the issue, they subject you to even more abuse. Unfortunately, there are no other facilities in the area where we can go to escape this mistreatment.
Hi Hussain, we will contact your parents to discuss this matter and investigate further. Thank you.
Negative experience: A week ago, my friends and I were having a great time together. However, our enjoyment was disrupted when a group of other kids began to bother one of my friends. Despite informing the guard about the situation, no action was taken. In response, we decided to stand up for ourselves and started exchanging words with the other kids. Surprisingly, when they complained to the guard, he immediately approached us with aggression. We couldn't help but express our frustration, questioning whether the guard's biased response was due to our skin color. To our astonishment, the manager intervened and made a disturbing comment. He warned us, saying, "If you don't watch it, I will go to Rab, another manager who happens to be brown, and all brown people know brown people ." This statement left us in utter shock, as it was deeply unsettling to hear someone in a position of authority make such a discriminatory remark.
Hi Faisal, we will contact your parents to discuss this matter and investigate further. Thank you.
Positive experience: Busy, but otherwise very good. Waves every 30 mins. Good day out and cheap too with car park fee refunded on entry.
Thank you so much for the review Eric!!⭐
Positive experience: I almost gave 5 stars, but like with most older swimming baths, it needs a little money spending to keep it in tip-top condition. The facilities are clean, costs are low (food & swimming), there's a slide and wave pool meaning kids are entertained for longer and it was accessible for even my 2 month old to have a good time. Plenty of changing rooms, including more than a few family ones, showers, and toilets. There was an inflatable assault course available on this visit after 3pm, which for £1 was very much worth it. Ample free parking too
Thank you so much for the stars and the feedback Jemma⭐
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place to take the kids, clean and lots of fun
Thank you so much for the feedback Hazel!
Fantastic experience: Really lovely place, kids loved it, they love the waves and the flume. Good changing facilities. Good car park paid, but refunded when you pay for your swim.
Thank you very much for the feedback Mary! We are thrilled that your family enjoyed their visit, hopefully we will see you again soon!
Fantastic experience: Really good pool that we and the kids all enjoyed. The water was warm, everything was clean and it was really cheap! It cost us about £17 for two adults and two kids. You pay and display outside and they take the price of the parking off your entry fee. The pool has a decent slide which the kids loved and never had too big a queue and they have a wave machine which goes off for about five minutes every half an hour. Also had loads of floating mats and rings about when the wave machine wasn't on. There were plenty of lockers and changing rooms and it wasn't too busy when we went so no hanging around. Food and drinks were available and you could sit pool side with plenty of tables about. We didn't eat there but it looked decent. Goggles, floats, bobbles, all-sorts were available to buy should you forget something. Staff were decent. We ended up being in the pool for a few hours then wandered out to find some lunch. We'll almost certainly go back again this week - well worth a visit.
Hi Alan, thank you so much for your feedback, we look forward to seeing you again!
Positive experience: Very crowded but a brilliant experience, the waves are really fun and the slide is brilliant for kids. A brilliant thing to do at the weekend
Thank you very much for the feedback Riley, we are glad you all enjoyed your visit wit us! We look forward to the next time
Fantastic experience: Lovely pool with a swimming area, a slide, a wave machine and a 'beach'. The beach is tiled like the pool, not sand. Quite a few tables and chairs if you need a rest, but get there early to claim one. Good selection of food and drinks which can be consumed near the beach.
Thank you very much for the review Graham! ️
Negative experience: Try and avoid this place if you like to swim in a clean pool. The pool was dirty and that wasn't all. Customers are aloud to walk in with dirty shoes on to get changed which means when you come out of the pool to get changed your walking in dirt. The surround around the pool was also dirty. With countless lifeguards sitters ng talking and the other half just walking around not even looking at any of the swimmers. The one that was looking in the pool addressed me and told me that in the shallow end (which my child could clear stand in) that I had to be directly in the pool with him in even though he can swim as he has had swimming lessons since his was 2 years old. He's now 7 and he was also in the pool with his older sister. Nowhere did it display that I needed to be in the pool with him and the lifeguard couldn't even tell me the ages he needed to be for me not to be in the pool. He just said it was the rules. Rude overall. People were also allowed in the pool with normal clothes on. One woman has an Adidas t-shirt on and cycling shorts. It wasn't just one person either. I counted at least 5 people not wearing any kind of swim wear. I thought you had to wear swim wear in public swimming pools if I'm not wrong? Finally, my daughters eyes when she got out the pool and for the rest of the afternoon were red raw sore due to the high chlorine in the pool.
Hi Adam, thank you for the feedback. We're sorry that you didn't have a great experience with us! We do try to keep the pool and surrounding areas as clean as possible which can sometimes be difficult during busy periods but I have passed on your feedback to the centre manager for further inspection, along with chlorine levels. Regarding your children in the pool, for safety reasons all children under 8 must be accompanied by and adult (over 18yrs) at all times, regardless of whether or not they can swim. Additionally, we allow all our customers to swim in any appropriate clothing that they are comfortable in, this includes things such as leggings and t-shirts. We have taken into consideration your comments about the staff and the pool so thank you for sharing them. We hope you return and have a much better experience with us next time
Negative experience: Poor experience. Never even got in. Got to the front of the queue and then held 20 minutes as staff had to do a head count as they didn't know how many people they had let in since the pool had opened only 20 minutes earlier which is an obvious safety concern. When there was an update to say they were full the queue was large and people had been waiting a long time before they were told people couldn't get in. Poorly communicated to us stood at the front of the queue and none to those behind. Absolute waste of 2 hrs travelling time
Hi Al, we are sorry that you had this experience. Unfortunately, our pool gets very busy during the Summer Holidays meaning that we usually do hit capacity and have to stop more people from coming in. I would suggest giving us a call ahead of your visit next time to make sure we are not so busy and you're not stood queuing without success. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed it here. Came with my 3 yr old grandson who loved it. Will be back soon.
Hi Steve, thank you so much for your feedback! We hope to see you again soon
Positive experience: Its a littel small because of how popular it is but is a great place for a swim. And if you don't the chairs are comfy and the table are cleaned every now and then.
Thank you so much for the review!
Negative experience: Way to many people, my 7 year niece almost had her neck broken from absolute idiots jumping in, no room to swim nothing, maybe you should think abou the capacity of people you let it. It's should be enjoyable for familys, plush the staff are rude
Hi Darcy thank you for the feedback, we understand that it can be super busy during peak times and we do have a maximum capacity for the pool that is strictly obeyed. I have passed on your comments about staff to the manager - thank you
Positive experience: Nice place, no queue to get in. The swimming pool was a good place for kids and there was snacks like chips to buy.
Hi Delilah, we apologise for the lack of cleanliness on this occasion, we do regularly clean the facilities throughout the day but sometimes during busy periods it can be difficult. Regarding 'normal clothes', we allow our customers to swim in suitable clothing of their choice, this includes clothing such as a t-shirt and leggings. We are glad you enjoyed the food and I have passed on your kind comments onto our cafe. Thank you.
Positive experience: I love this swimming pool but only 1 thing there could be some more toilets because when I went they were all locked or in use thanks
Thank you for the feedback Maisie
Fantastic experience: This is out favourite place to swim and my son really really wanted a pool party this year. my god was it worth every single penny! My boy just had the best 8th birthday party of his life today! The staff were amazing everyone of them! He won't forget this birthday in hurry. And either will I! 26 screaming kids I was flustered the staff handled it like it was nothing!
Hi Rosie, we are thrilled that you and your son had such a wonderful time with us! Thank you for choosing us to help you celebrate his 8th birthday!
Fantastic experience: We had the best day out ever. The poop and sides were lovely and clean and so accessible with the changing rooms being open next to the pool too. Was a little busy when we went but still lots of space for playtime on the floats ect, the children loved the waves and slide and we all had a great time. Lots of room for parking and super cheap to swim so well worth a trip out.
Thank you very much for the review Amanda⭐ We are thrilled that you all had a fabulous visit with us and we hope to see you again soon!
Positive experience: Great pool for kids and adults. Waves machine every half hour. Good fun. Slide to plunge pool. Cafe seating area.
Hi Linda, thank you very much for the review!
Positive experience: Decent set up, fun wave machine and slides. Some of the tiling in the pool predates the Romans and is due a refresh.
Hi Adam, thank you for your feedback! ⭐
Negative experience: Went all the way to Nelson from Littleborough on BH Monday as your website said it was open till 5pm. Got there at 14:30 to be told it was closing at 3pm. Need to update your online details. Kids were disappointed and wasted 2 hours and a lot of expensive diesel!
Hi Amanda, we're sorry to hear about this. We do have a separate timetable online for Bank Holidays, here: https://www.pendleleisuretrust.co.uk/pw-may-half-term-2023/ When traveling far we would suggest giving us a call ahead of time to make sure your journey isn't wasted
Fantastic experience: Great for kids birthday party not cheap but amazing
Thank you for the review Russel!⭐⭐
Fantastic experience: Great pool, waves and flume, we all loved it, and a little food counter so you can take your time and have a coffee
Thank you so much for the review Ian! We are so glad you enjoyed your visit. Hopefully we will see you again soon for a swim and a coffee☕
Fantastic experience: Hidden gem. Great place. Kids loved the wave machine and inflatables. The side is a must! I have kids from 2 months to 11 years old and all of them had a great time! We will definitely be going again!
We're so happy to hear that the whole family had fun on your visit, Marianna! We look forward to seeing you again soon! Thank you for the stars⭐
Positive experience: you have to pay for parking, i cant remember how much but we got 3 hours for maybe £2-3. The changing room isles are very narrow and a tad inconvenient to be honest when you're trying to squeeze past other people. The floor just feels dirty, with even mud etc. there are lockers but again on very narrow isles. These facilities along with tables and chairs with drink and food served is all open plan with the pool itself. So again the floor just doesn't feel clean, as some people walk around in their shoes. I guess its nice for grandparents etc who want to join in on the phone vicarously but dont want to swim, so there's that positive. While we are talking about positives, the toilet i used was clean, and the pool has a section where you can walk into it from the ground, meaning little babies and toddlers can go as shallow as they want to. There are waves, which came on every now and then. It's at this point the lifeguards require the floats back, this is a good opportunity for the floats to be passed on to different people. We all know those people who like to hog floats tut tut. there is a slide which is very fun, but the rule was a tad confusing. Someone told my husband that my 7 year old daughter couldn't go down the slide by herself, however when i went down another time i saw children as young as 3 going down on their own without a parent... not sure what the rule is there guys. My last negative was that i couldn't see the showers, which i'm definitely assuming were someone, the floor was too yukky for me to want to walk around and find, so i decided to get out as quick as possible and wash at home. In all i think it was an okay experience
Fantastic experience: Great family pool especially for younger children. They also have a slide and the wave machine
Fantastic experience: It is well fun for kids and adults they is slides and some times inflatables. They is also waves for everyone too. I would go they again
Fantastic experience: 17.55 for a family swim which is great value 2 adults 2 children there waves a slide and our kids love it staff are friendly and there are plenty of lifeguards on
Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic pool - geared towards enjoyment for kids which there is a total lack of in other towns close by. Fantastic experience.
Positive experience: I don’t think it was outstanding but overall it was a very enjoyable experience
Fantastic experience: Nice to nail that 1st Gym session of 2023. Expected it to be busier but floated from station to station with no waiting. Thumbs up from me Staff were friendly as always
Fantastic experience: Took my 3 year old he loves going swimming and the floats and the waves. The changing rooms were clean as we're the showers. Would recommend going
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities - whenever I have been visiting the area it has been my first choice for a gym visit.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic leisure centre right in the heart of the town. Activities to suit all tastes and the prices are incredible value for money. Loads of (free) parking and only a few minutes walk from public transport links. Most impressive was the friendly and welcoming staff, from the receptionists through to the gym instructors, they could not have been any more helpful and polite. My gym induction session was really well organised & delivered, the gym was very well equipped, everything I saw was clean & tidy. Look forward to visiting again, highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Spent under £11 on 3 kids who spent 3 hours here! Staff are lovely and facilities are spot on too. Food was typical for this kind of place but not expensive. Definitely will be back
Negative experience: Been a few times now and each time left disappointed. On two occasions my 10 year old cut his toes badly on damaged ties. On two other occasions the chlorine levels have been that high the children have come out with burning throats and an uncontrollable cough. They were given water from the cafe but that's about it. Management have just said the levels are within peramiter!! I don't think health and safety is taken seriously will not go back.
Fantastic experience: Great pool, love the waves n slide. Can stay in hours. Cheap price. Clean showers n changing area. Nice food
Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic swim lot's of people as it's last day of the summer holidays, but everyone enjoying, fun times, inflatables, wave machine, slide, hot coffee n small chips , also vending machine on site too, snacks available with small area for onlookers with seating area
Negative experience: Food price is expensive for small town as nelson not just that still same attraction and same stuff would of thought they done it up abit and more stuff but guess what you get for living in nelson
Fantastic experience: Best place to take your kids my 12 year old and granddaughter at 2 love it and it's reasonable priced too Caffe to eat there too
Positive experience: This was my first visit to this place and I was a little disappointed with my first impression, a place in need of refurbishment or maybe just cleaning and painting might do it. At the time of our visit all the ladies toilets were out of order. My party consisted of my eleven year old grandson and my six year old great granddaughter, they don't notice the decor and they thoroughly enjoyed the water slide and the wave machine.
Fantastic experience: Kids (6 & 7) enjoyed the slide (going down with an adult), waves and floats
Negative experience: The staff in this place are absolutely appalling. So miserable! The only people to crack a smile where the kitchen workers and the lady who served our food. My cousins and I where threatened with being thrown out because a young male worker was having a bad day and decided to take it out on us. I usually love this place but it doesn’t hurt to have good customer hospitality.
Negative experience: Absolutely shocking experience. Far too overcrowded to a point of being a health and safety issue, an accident waiting to happen. Changing rooms were unsanitary with used nappies, hair and plasters on the benches. Only two female bathrooms which were no where near adequate for the number of people in the session. No toilet roll, facilities smelled strongly of urine, bits floating in the pool. The waves were brief and underwhelming, causing everyone to flock to a small corner of the pool. I wouldn't be surprised if a serious incident occurs here in the near future. Stay away.
Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting!! I certainly won't be bringing my children here again, the hygiene in this place is rank! Changing rooms left with dirty nappies in them, hair and plasters all over the floor, going around with a mop wouldn't go a miss. We attended during the school holidays, not enough life guards for the amount of unsupervised children. In my opinion 100% overcrowded. Accidents waiting to happen. Slide wasn't even open.
Positive experience: Busy periods can be a bit difficult, definitely recommend going at quieter times and guarantee kids will love it
Positive experience: Excellent pool, great changing rooms and very reasonably priced for a family of 4. Waves where a nice touch and was perfect for an autistic 3 year old who was very unsure of the water as it starts very shallow. Midweek was very quiet ( outside of school holidays)
Negative experience: The people in the pool are sooooooo gross bringing children in the pool with not suitable nappys. A woman wore a swimsuit that showed her entire arse and there was children about too completely innopropiet if a man did that he would be arrested do not go here avoid
Negative experience: I did not get my chicken nuggets at a party after orderin them but the waves where cool ngl. m
Fantastic experience: Visited the gym a number of times also applied for and received a 7 day free pass. Love the gym, has great facilities. The staff are friendly and hardworking. The gym is clean, spacious and has plenty of equipment for different workouts. The changing rooms are brilliant with plenty of lockers and good shower facilities. Will be returning for the gym definitely and signing up for a membership. The building itself is located in a prime location with plenty of car parking availability. Would definitely recommend 10/10
Negative experience: Tried phoning 4 times no answer, so we decided to travel from Blackburn to Pendle Wavelengths in Nelson. When we arrived the lady on reception told us that there weren’t any wristbands available and we couldn’t go in! nothing on the website to say there are a limited number of wristbands, extremely frustrating for people who are travelling miles and it might be a good idea to offer a percentage of wristbands to be booked online to stop this happening again.
Fantastic experience: Great few hours spent here. Fantastic wave machine and popular slide
Negative experience: Visited as a large group on 27/5/22 the only member of staff to smile was the lovely girl in the cafe who was absolutely rushed off her feet. Everyone else who worked there just looked miserable even the manager couldn’t manage to crack a smile. Not a good atmosphere to be around! It costs nothing to smile
Positive experience: My first visit very busy.the pool little crowded.choice of food was OK
Positive experience: A really nice child friendly pool. I especially liked that the spectator area was akin to tables and chairs on a poolside abroad. My niece loved the flume! We were here on holiday in nearby Skipton and would visit again.
