Fantastic experience: I have been a member of this gym since 2022, and everything was amazing until I realized that some members were smoking cannabis on the gym premises. I hope the staff of this gym will take action to prevent this (I know it's difficult), but please do something. Ok, forget what I mentioned above, the club manager Beth was proactive to follow up the cannabis smell issue with the building manager and it turned out the cannabis smell was filtering into the gym instead of someone smoking IN the gym. Giving it 5 star again for the efficiency of this investigation.

Fantastic experience: Probably the most amazing gym I've been to My only downside is the amount of times I get called from them asking about my fitness goals, I'm sure it's protocol but (and I'm sorry) I've had to block the number. I've explained I'm not there for fitness reasons and it's more mental reasons. But i understand why they do it, but wish there was a profile or something to say please don't ring me or maybe there is and I've missed it. Haha. Love this gym, the staff are SO lovely too x

Fantastic experience: Great place to work out early in the morning. Not too crowded. Machines and equipment are always available. The place is clean. Environment is great to feel motivated to meet your goals. Best of all its open 24/7.

Fantastic experience: I love training at Anytime Fitness in Sutton, mainly due to the friendly staff who create such a welcoming environment. The gym is always clean and tidy, and although relatively small, there is a large selection of equipment to cover your needs whether it be strength training or cardio. The memberships are also well priced, I'd definitely recommend training here :)

Negative experience: Went to apply for membership,didn’t even submit the forms ,yet somehow they (anytime fitness) now have my details and are calling my mobile an emailing me repeatedly trying to pressure me into joining!!! There’s startup fee is ridiculous!! £70 plus £38 a month after which is an absolute rip off!!! Far better going with the well known respected gyms like puregym in Mansfield! Which is currently no joining fee an half price first month at selected gyms!! Absolutely disgusting that places like this (anytime fitness)exist an ultimately ruin the fitness industry!!! Will be taking this further!!! Do not become a member and if u are move to a better gym!!! An to further your response it’s £70 total to join your gym with with current 24/7 gym prices this is ridiculously overpriced!! An no until I submit a form in no way should you have someone’s details an then try to contact them an that’s gross misconduct on your part!! I merely inquired about membership seen the ridiculous price an didn’t submit my form !! Then calls an emails an voicemails from your staff is unacceptable!! I will second avoiding this gym at all costs !!! if your gym was that good you wouldn’t have other terrible reviews would you about your gym!!

Positive experience: My Local Gym, small gym but big enough for the amount of people using the facilities. The staff are very helpful and easy to speak to especially if you want to keep in the loop of any future plans been made for the gym. Anytime Fitness customer service(out of branch)also very charming and cheerful to speak to( talking about Janelle lol) and I'm doing this review to show how happy i am with the gym.

Fantastic experience: I really like this gym, it's a fairly mature place. The equipment is all top notch, and I haven't experienced any issues with overcrowding. The bathrooms are lovely as well. While the price is a bit high, for the benefits I mentioned above, I've found it to be worth it for myself and would recommend it if you have a busy schedule and when you have time, you'd like to make the most of your gym time.

Negative experience: Be very careful when signing contracts, i signed for a 6 month contract and after 6 months when i canceled i received a threatening message saying i will face consequences, also they blocked my access from the gym due to my cancelation until i reinstate the Direct Debit, on top of that they still took a 7th payment without my consent with no Direct Debit agreement. Worst customer service experience and serious scam artists. Rude and terrible Staff, Saffron and Farhaan are two of the worst in particular. Be aware of dealing with them

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience here, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the equipment was great, they had everything I needed. The bathroom facilities were great with a private bathroom for each user which was a nice touch.

Fantastic experience: Really lovely clean gym, friendly welcoming staff, great location, wide range of equipment and I didn’t have to wait to use anything! Big plus that they have GHD hairdryers and straighters and am able to pick up my favourite protein shake after a workout! Really recommend

Negative experience: • Absolutely horrified to find a drunk and homeless people meandering around the gym with wine bottles and sleeping on the premises. I was told by the General manager Ian Tyler That the club was closely monitored by CCTV 24 hours a day. This is clearly not the case, As a female using the gym, I felt completely unsafe as there was no members of staff in attendance at this time. Reassured by Ian Tyler that this gym was a safe environment as it was monitored 24 hours a day by Cctv is clear Lie. I also found the cleanliness of the club to be absolutely disgusting. General manager, Ian Tyler to be unprofessional as when I signed up to Anytime fitness he was wearing virgin, active clothing, a clear competitor of Anytime fitness, which I would say is a complete conflict of interest. A working professional female who does shifts at the hospital, who can unfortunately not always Attend the gym during staffed hours I feel completely let down with the health and safety aspect of the gym, and the promises of safety that they promised me.

Negative experience: •Dirty showers. •Terrible Equipment. •Drugs addicts outside of the gym Heckling you for money. • Entry fobs to the gym are temperamental. • Unprofessional members of staff.

Positive experience: I should go more often

Negative experience: Till to date I haven't received the refund I am due for my account getting charged when it was frozen. It's been over 4 months and countless calls and correspondence back and forth.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym at all costs! Following the advised cancellation process I delivered a hand signed letter into the office. My account was closed and the manager acknowledged my cancellation… I wasn’t charged for the following month. The next month I began to be charged again! After speaking with very unhelpful members of staff I was told that they never received my letter and that my account remained open, no explanation as to why I wasn’t charged for the previous month or why the manager had told me that my account was closed. A previous employee also explained to me that this is common to be charged after the account is closed as the staff squeeze as much money as they can by playing dumb! I began to receive letters from a debt collection agent and now can’t reach the gym for any explanation. Poorly run gym with poorly trained staff.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!! they completely scammed my brother. My brother and his girlfriend cancelled their membership after 1 year. They followed the cancellation procedure and no payment was taken the following month so he assumed it was all ok. The following month a direct debit was taken out of his account so he called Anytime Fitness who said they had no knowledge of his cancellation. Anytime fitness then confirmed his contract was cancelled. He stopped direct debits being taken as a precaution. Months later Anytime Fitness wrote to him saying he owed months worth of money as he had cancelled his direct debit. He said he had been informed his contract was cancelled but again they said they had no knowledge of this. He then goes into the branch to talk about this issue which the manager said that they will resolve it. He then gets a letter in the post from a credit control agency saying he needs to pay £152.85. He has paid this as he does not want this to affect his credit score. It is frustrating as all correspondence has either been over the phone or in person so nothing in writing. I don’t understand why he has had to pay this especially when his girlfriend cancelled the contract at the same time as him. The staff do not follow up on what they say and have completely misled my brother. Not impressed at all.

Negative experience: I've been a member for the past one year. Tried to get some personal training to be more regular and have a better workout schedule. The trainer cancelled the session which was booked as per his convenience. No big deal.. booked another one on my day off and guess what! Cancelled again for weird reasons. By this time I had had enough and asked for a refund. It came in installments and after multiple reminders. Apparently the trainers are not gym employees and hence there is no accountability. The gym otherwise is fine, clean and everything. But this experience put me off of personal training ever again.

Negative experience: UPDATE Jan 2024: After yet another management change, they still haven’t managed to solve the smell issue… they’ve ignored the desperate need for a dehumidifier and the desperate pleas of members to remove the people who can’t seem to utilise the free showers… or any shower. I therefore continue to recommend that you avoid this gym if you can. UPDATE: After 2 management changes, the new manager seems to have been able to fix the smell of the gym itself… however the issue now is that they don’t enforce their own policy of removing the MEMBERS who smell. At certain times, there are multiple people who smell AWFUL and because the gym is so small, it impacts the entire area. I would highly recommend that if any other gym is available to you, just go there instead. Stinks. Sweaty. Mouldy. Dirty. Crowded. Locked into a 12 month contract. If this is what you want from a gym, this is the place for you. However if you’re a reasonable human, choose anywhere else. I’d highly recommend GYM [SUTTON] instead. I have spoken to management about these issues multiple times over the last 2 months, and they still haven’t addressed the issue.

Fantastic experience: A well equipped and maintained gym with friendly staff and never too busy, so always able to have a decent session. Also, Anytime is very good at keeping in contact with notifications and reminders (but not too many, thankfully). Really very glad I joined.

Negative experience: AVOID this gym if you don't want to get scammed out your money when trying to freeze/cancel your membership. I was a member for 2 years and I tried to freeze my account in November 2022. The member of staff who acknowledged this didn't actually freeze my account, so they then tried to charge me for membership fees that I shouldn't have had to pay. Attempting to resolve this with any member of staff - including management - was an absolute nightmare. On top of all this there are downsides with the gym itself that prevent it from being worth the price they charge: it's quite small and cramped, and the equipment is limited and outdated - most other gyms in the area, namely GYM SUTTON, are much better equipped and cheaper. Save your money and your sanity and don't get locked into a contract with this gym. Update: the person who responded to this review did not rectify the situation, and no one reached out to me after their reply. Update: to anyone who is reading this and is in a similar situation after having to deal with the incompetence of the staff at this gym - ask your bank to charge back all payments this gym has taken from your bank account after you cancelled/froze your membership. It may take a while, but my bank were great and I eventually got refunded all the money these scammers took from me.

Negative experience: Avoid at all costs. Only 1 rack of weights, inconvenient location with limitations on parking. Over priced for facilities on offer. No flexibility or understanding what so ever for ending contracts when you have lost your job. Only threats of dept collectors. Tanya is the best thing about Anytime fitness. Great customer service from Tanya.

Positive experience: It is a good gym. It is located next to the train station. I go very early in the morning. Therefore is always quiet. Individual showers and code lockers are also a nice touch.

Negative experience: Been a member a long time but in the last 6 months the gym is on a serious decline. Machines are filthy not cleaned properly. One of the bikes has not worked for over 2 weeks and they do not even put a sticker saying out of order. The other other 2 bikes make a clanky noise when u peddle. Vending machine always only a quarter full. Good staff have left and replaced with others with no interpersonal skills. Sad really as this will close down if something is not done soon. Hate leaving negative reviews but the staff need to do better! New Update June Management replaced a couple of time since my last review. New management like to run the gym like a military camp. Maybe they they have too many customers and customer service no longer matters. So both my son and I are members. Recently we went together and my son used his fob. Got an email saying we operate a 3 strike policy and your now on the first strike. Amazing I will make sure to salute the management next time. Also some senseless changes to moving the gym equipment around.

Positive experience: Much better than some of the gym around. You may find its subscription on bit higher side but their facilities, attention to the members and the following up is much better. They offer free subscription to their workout app which makes things easy for beginners. You can actually created your workout schedule and track your growth. It's 24*7 gym.

Negative experience: Just sad that I can’t leave 0 stars on this guy. Bad communication from staff, what is promised when you join differs to what you actually get, when you try to leave and cancel your dd they will cancel your door fob but not let you know that they have done so, they will then tell you it’s in the T&C that they are well versed in .. but they are not, when challenged they will tell you that it’s there opening closing procedures. When challenged they always back chat the manager even roles her eyes at me. All they want is to get your money, zero customer service from the team, over crowded and definitely not worth the money!

Negative experience: I really enjoy practicing here. because it's clean. comfortable. but I find the staff here unprofessional. I signed up for a monthly plan. but when it comes to the next payment date. they didn't pay themselves and i don't know. it was a few days late. and they made me pay 12 extra pounds. I asked the staff and she said she didn't know why. and I tried to practice for another month. but it still happens. I have to pay 12 extra pounds a month for a total of 61 pounds. the staff here they explain differently. and I see many people like me. but they still can't solve it

Fantastic experience: Just joined and first impressions are very good. The gym is well kitted out with a variety of equipment and a separate studio available for stretching etc when there are no classes. The gym is clean, has good air conditioning and private individual showers. Customers appear to be of a variety of fitness levels and ages and the atmosphere is calm and friendly.; the staff are friendly too. A great choice I’m happy with personally to kick start training again!

Negative experience: Absolutely abhorrent customer service. First they didn’t let me cancel my subscription even through I had a doctors notice. When I tried to cancel again at a later point their claim that yearly subscriptions can’t be cancelled turned out to be a lie and apparently all you have to do is fill a form. However, since they don’t actually respond to cancellation requests for weeks yet keep happily charging me, I am still paying their exorbitant fee.

Fantastic experience: Excellent clean gym, private changing facilities and digital lockers. Never too over crowded, and has a good range of free weights, lifting platforms cables and machines.

Negative experience: Becarefull before to sign the contract with them . I go there want to try with the PT before to get the contract so they told me have to be the member first so they will book PT for me to try , after one day with PT and first time use the gym I don’t like it , I go to the office to cancel so they told me have to email , after 10 email they pass me to the Manager , she said to me because I used the gym already so they can’t cancel for me even one day ( but the lady when did the member for me said I can cancel if I don’t like after I try )I never come back even still have to pay every month .That the way they are cheating .

Positive experience: Decent gym. Anytime Fitness can have a big range and this gym is now improving really well. Great staff and crowd. Kit is good quality and a decent range. A refresh on the decor and a better music playlist would be really good to see. With Morrisons indefinitely closed, that does make parking very expensive.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym 6 months ago, love it. Very friendly staff, lockers are good even the people that go are nice. Made 3 referrals. Unfortunately I've moved to Croydon and the anytime in Croydon is nothing compared to any other AT fitness. I will miss this gym.

Negative experience: No. What I object to is you acknowledging that you acted unilaterly whilst acknowledging that you had no contractual right to extend my contract without my consent and being told that 'your lawyers' told you it was fair and therefore that is how it will be because you say so. I also object to there being no formal complaints procedure and your rude manager (I am not referring to your regional manager) i also object to you telling me the fact that you don't have a right to extend my contract , somehow means that the contract also does not prevent you from doing so. I object to being charged for time when the gym was closed.

Negative experience: Cancelled a membership 4 months ago and they sneakily took a full membership payment at the beginning of November for no reason

Fantastic experience: Equipment is amazing all branded high quality pleasure to use. Staff are super friendly . The gym is so clean sanitizers everywhere and stations to clean machines. Can tell staff have made a big effort to keep the gym clean, tidy and safe for members.

Fantastic experience: Love the gym. The staff is super friendly and always willing to help you with instructions on how to use the machines.. even after the orientation. I have never not been able to use a machine, and cleanliness is paramount.

Negative experience: Photos of the gym floor at 8:30 this morning. The current management thinks it's a very good idea to hire a cleaner that doesn't bother to arrive and clean before around 10, just when it gets quite busy. Then he (the cleaner) will vacuum clean with an old Henry around folks, including those doing floor work, so we breathe and smell the dust coming out of the Henry. Meanwhile giving us looks like we shouldn't be there! A few of us have flagged this up to the management and it was acknowledged, but no changes were implemented. They're apparently too busy telling members on signs to re-rack all the weights and threatening people who don't by "losing their membership " (WTH?). Also, they have stopped providing wiping towels, and the sanitising stations are more often not filled up than they are. The boxing gloves are falling apart and heavily stinking. When some of the machines were out of order, it took them weeks to get them repaired. This gym was an amazing, supportive, friendly and clean place under Elaine's management, but has been downspiralling ever since she's left, with a huge fluctuations of managers and PTs, and now it seems to be just about how much they can charge with the possibly least service and support. Sign of the times, I guess.
