Positive experience: Fine standard gym friendly staff

Positive experience: Didn't go inside played football on the outside next gen pitch was very good and a large size. Would help if they had higher fences.

Fantastic experience: Pretty well equipped gym, pretty well maintained and clean kit. Friendly helpful staff, good value membership, relaxed atmosphere for all standards of gym goers, of all shapes, sizes and sexes.

Fantastic experience: The morning HIIT classes are great value in comparison with alternative outdoor bootcamps, and I have enjoyed going for over a year now. Staff and other gym goers are approachable and easy-going. I can always get a space in classes. Great gym, thanks guys

Positive experience: YMCA is my local gym and my stop for fitness for years, it’s consistently tidy with a team that’s always ready to assist. I can also find everything I need inside, from cardio to weights to machinery

Positive experience: It’s a pretty solid gym, there is a lack of benches and at peak times it’s a bit annoying but 90% of the time there 3-4 people in at a time, and you can move from the machine room to the free weight room. It could be improved if it had an easy access app where you could book the badminton courts since I couldn’t book on the website. It’s pretty clean, some equipment is a bit worse for wear but it’s alright.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant gym. Started going around a month ago after getting a little tired of Puregym. What Puregym lacked with the hollow corporate feel with staff who ignore almost everyone makes for a stark contrast to YMCA with friendly staff who are always approachable and willing to greet you with a smile and the wonderful facilities. I can’t lie and claim that it has better facilities then a big brand like Puregym, but it has almost everything you’d need for a general workout and it is incredibly peaceful and comfortable being far less busy, which especially for new gym go-ers who may be hesitant to join for the sort of intimidation you’d find at a less community driven gym. Makes me feel like a member of a strong community and there’s really no comparison to be made. The only issue I could possibly think of is the lack of an ab machine which would make a world of effort. But a few dumbbells and a little extra effort can achieve the same end so I can hardly complain, especially with the reduced cost for students like myself. Couldn’t recommend higher.

Positive experience: I don't think i need to go to any other gym when i can use the facilities here and i can just pay as you go as i only use the gym once or twice a week

Fantastic experience: I went here today for a Covid test. Very well run and every single member of staff made you feel at ease and were also very friendly.

Negative experience: Absolutely Shocking Service!!!! This morning I rang up to book the badminton court for this evening for 8-9pm which was confirmed. Later in the afternoon received a phone call stating that they are sorry and cannot honour the booking for that time slot due to an over sight of a block booking made by another third party. However, they said they have an earlier slot at 6-7pm which was available so I agreed to book the earlier slot. We arrived by 5.45pm ready to start for 6pm when we were told by a member of the staff to vacate the court because there was another booking at the same time that took precedence over our confirmed booking to my utter dismay. Seriously, you could not make this up for the sheer level of incompetency. An absolute shambles of poor management and miscommunication!!! I asked to speak to the Duty Manager and was told he was not available. This has left a very sour taste and frustration since this was not the first time this has happened to me.

Positive experience: I use the large hall for a dance class. It's good. Haven't used other facilities.

Fantastic experience: This place is serious value for money. Although it's small, it has plenty of free weights and most of the equipment is modern.

Fantastic experience: Really good value gym with great range of brand new equipment, studios and a sports hall. Also there are quite a few classes included in the membership.

Positive experience: Did some sort of renovation over the holidays 2018 dec. I honestly can't see anything different downstairs in the badminton halls. Upstairs I don't know about. Very friendly staff always.

Negative experience: First time to a yoga class on a sunday morning at this gym. Members of the class had to sweep the floor because it hadn't been swept. The studio was absolutely freezing, as the heating was off and not on any timer to come on prior to the class. It was so cold the yoga instructor refused to do the class in that studio, so took us to a smaller studio which heated up a lot quicker. But again, one of the class member took it upon her staff to sweep the floor because it was so dirty. Not a good first impression of the gym facilities. Thank goodness the yoga class was fantastic.
