Fantastic experience: Nice swim. Pool isn't too cold. Lanes for different speeds.

Fantastic experience: What a superb facility for the North East region and for training the Lifeguards. Even better when the diving boards are open.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member for a few years, the pools decent and the staff in the gym are great.

Positive experience: Great Pool Great use of time if you are wanting to get yourself out for a few hours or keep up with your fitness levels. This pool also has a wide variety of diving board sessions that happen quite often throughout the summer holidays, mostly on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Saturdays The reception team and lifeguards are also really friendly during your stay at the pool.

Negative experience: Really poor facilities for ladies in the gym.. no hand towels, no sink in the changing rooms, broken hair dryer. Note that the cleaner likes to hoover when there's people in the gym too..it completely ruins the vibe. Nobody wants to hear, see or almost trip over or have to avoid a hoover whilst they're working out. I love the classes, but the gym is poor.

Positive experience: The pool needs some serious TLC. The showers are hot and pool is clean. Main pool hall ceiling looks like the ceiling in a pit bath house that's been derelict since 1984. Lockers cost 20p per use .....

Fantastic experience: Fantastic swim school. Pre covid my little boy age 4 had lessons here. Michelle was amazing. She just has it. I watched over the weeks as the kids started to swim. She was confident and in control. Most of all she made it fun. My son still talks about these lessons over a year later. I can't wait for the pool to re open and for lessons again covid permitting. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Budova s bazénem má venkovní parkovistě s dostatečným počtem parkovacích míst. Vstoupíte do haly kde je recepce, automaty na nápoje a sladkosti, zaplatíte poplatek a vejdete do místnosti kde jsou kabinky na převlékání a šatní skřínky na zamykání, kam si můžete uložit oblečení boty a batůžek. Můžete si vybrat z několika bazénů, menší pro děti, větší pro ty co se učí plavat a velký, který je rozdělený na jednotlivé dráhy pro plavce. V zadní části je i skokansky můstek. Od velkého bazénu jdete rovnou do sprch a pak přímo ke kadinkám.Je to příjemné a čisté místo, dozor mají plavčíci.

Positive experience: This pool is good I love swimming in the Deep end it is a good experience wood recommend

Negative experience: A great pool which has, sadly, been rendered unusable due to it's ludicrous opening hours, which see it shut almost all the times that someone with a 9-5 job would be able to attend. If you have a job, this isn't the pool for you.

Positive experience: No frills swimming pool for swimming. Small pool is warm with good access for spectators and is separate from the main pool. There is also a gym if you want to keep fit without getting wet.

Fantastic experience: I'm chronically ill with crohns disease, joint hypermobility syndrome, fibromyalgia, stenosis, and osteoarthritis in every part of my body, I'm in constant pain but since I've started swimming at Tynemouth Pool it's helping with pain, my sleep, and I feel like a new woman for a while, it's easy to access, changing rooms are great, nice big lockers, lovely shower area and a nice pool, they have a poolside hoist to help those with mobility problems in and out of the pool safely, helpful, friendly staff too

Negative experience: I used to visit the City Pool in Newcastle for a sauna and swim. Sadly, that's now closed. I visited Tynemouth Pool because I considered taking a membership either at Contours or DW Sports (near Percy Main). Tynemouth Pool is only a 10 minute walk from my home so is convenient - but I won't be taking out a membership. I had many happy visits to Tynemouth Pool as a child and heard it had recently been refurbished. Sadly, the place has gone downhill since the seventies. It cost £8.30 for a sauna and swim - much more expensive than City Pool for the same thing. Newcastle City Pool was very clean with a reassuring smell of bleach throughout. Tynemouth Pool smelled of urine everywhere - from the sauna's changing rooms to the main pool itself. If I wanted the toilet, I had to leave the sauna, go though the gym (and get stared at!) and walk through the full length of the children's pool and main pool.. This area was disgusting and smelled of urine. The paper dispensers in the toilets were fiddly with tiny holes and the loo roll got lost inside them (whoever designed them should be sacked!). The shower areas could've done with little racks beside them (to store shower gel/shampoo etc), and when you showered you were in full-view of the main pool. The hairdryer in the sauna's changing rooms was out of order. The steam room generated virtually no steam whatsoever. I don't think I'll be going there again and it wasn't worth anywhere near £8.30. I would consider paying up to £11.00 to go to Newcastle City Baths if it reopened as it's miles better than Tynemouth and much cleaner. But in the meantime I'll seriously consider joining DW Sports instead, even though it's further away.
