Positive experience: I have really enjoyed the service ever since I registered. However, this machine has been down for months now. It would be nice if this is put in order so we can have it working again to avoid waiting on queue for the only one available. Cheers.

Positive experience: After many months waiting for new equipment it's finally starting to arrive, members are now getting better equipment, showers seem to be sorted at long last, they just need to get the cleaning sorted, overall this a good gym

Fantastic experience: Full equipment and very nice staff

Negative experience: Staff member left early, locked me out of the changing rooms. My car and house keys are in there. Security staff on the phone absolutely rude and unhelpful now I’m stuck with nowhere to go. His attitude on the phone was sleep in the gym

Positive experience: Good gym, boxing facilities are not the best. Not happy I have to upload a selfie to use the gym more that once

Negative experience: Got to the gym today and got told to leave because I had crocs on, no form of communication was given of this new rule via email or text which makes it even worse. After training here for many years I've never been told to leave for wearing crocs which at least a 1/4 of the people training there wear. I'll now likely be cancelling my contract and moving to PureGym across the road which Im pretty sure a lot of members will follow.

Negative experience: Great gym and atmosphere however something needs to be done about some of the members. Overweight gentleman laughing as loud as he can, parking his bike out the front door and creeping on every young girl in there, needs to be looked at seriously

Negative experience: A big standard gym without any frills. T gym equipment is old and regularly out of order. The sauna was a big draw but noone follows the rules with swimming shorts and a towel (instead, underwear without a towel). The staff aren't even aware of this rule when I raised my concerns and the one I spoke to argued there wasn't a rule (despite the sign) before sarcastically dismissing me. Customer service: 1/5 (or just n/a) Equipment: 3/5 Price: 1/5 Parking availability: 2/5 Overall: 1.75/ 5 Edit: I received a call from JD gym, answered immediately and they hung up straight away. Telephone customer service: 1/5 Mould in the male changing room/ shower/ toilet. Hygiene is the biggest issue, not the need to refurb equipment. Hygiene : 1/5

Negative experience: Hello There is a fuller woman who works in the JD Gym and she asked me for an ID because she couldn't believe that I was 16 years old and I said that I would come the next day with my passport and I was told again before I went to the gym I had the Subscription ended Why?

Fantastic experience: The only thing this gym is missing is a swimming pool

Negative experience: This gym has got worse and worse . The owners obviously dont give a toss. There are no cleaners anymore the place is absolutely filthy. The showers hardly ever give out hot water , the sink taps dont work half the time , the hand dryer doesnt work. Several machines in the gym are constantly out of order. Notices on the punch bags say DO NOT KICK yet people constantly are doing exactly that and staff take no notice. I see one guy constantly spitting in the bins . Handles are constantly missing off the aparatus its a complete joke. Had to give 1 star as there is no option for ZERO or MINUS

Fantastic experience: fantastic 24 hour Gym. We go at 5.45am till 7am and it is a little busy at first then drops off about 6.30am but we always get to use the machines needed as there is plenty of choice for machines and free weights.

Positive experience: Bit expensive membership but good. Always clean

Negative experience: Good for the price, and for me the location but I feel standards have slipped Been in this morning chest press - broken Incline fly - broken Smith machine - broken Leg curl - broken Handle on cable x over - damaged Some of these machines have been out of action for weeks And that's just what I saw passing through doing my routine, starting to feel a bit neglected which is a shame as previously I was impressed

Fantastic experience: Good gym, good price. Just gets very very busy during after work hours as everyones going after work, but apart from that lots of machines and a great HITT section.

Positive experience: This place is good but I'm struggling to feel the difference between a workout and a sauna because the air con NEVER WORKS

Negative experience: 1) Inconsistent staff messages. Some people are asked to rerack weights while others are allowed to leave weights all over the place. Some slam weight's down unintentionally and are asked to not do it, while the staff will just happily walk by others doing the exact same thing. I honestly don't understand their reasoning. But I've been seeing this a lot the past few months. 2) Way too many members are allowed to join up, I had to start an hour earlier (4am) just because of how busy it gets, even at this early hour. 3) Machines frequently broken and take way to long to fix. It shouldn't take 2 weeks + to fix basic machinery. The small local gym gets theirs fixed in a matter of days. 4) Car park bins often overflowing with rubbish and subsequently, making the car park litter infested. It's not hard to empty the bins throughout the day. There's enough staff sat on their phones that can sort this.

Negative experience: 1st day q code not working, assistant help button inside main door,therefore can't train ,not a good 1st impression at all.Going to attempt to ring and sort out today but not holding my breath

Negative experience: Disappear when you have a query or want to cancel. Respond by telling me to DM on Facebook. Breaking news - not everyone lives by Facebook. A human verbal conversation should have been enough.

Positive experience: Quite busy all equipment is there to be used

Positive experience: A gym is what it is .never felt the need 2 use 1 .just leave pies chips pizza alone and ull save cash by not paying stupid prices just 2 go perv on the women .healthy eating plenty exercise by walking then home 2 eat a nice chocolate bar .if u believe this then u need 2 go 2 gym lol

Positive experience: Good early morning or late at night when it’s quiet gets busy during the day but good equipment

Negative experience: Too busy, music loud really not necessary. Not able to get one day pass really disappointed.

Positive experience: The gym is spacious you have everything piece of equipment you'll need. The only two problems I have found is that the male bathrooms are not cleaned enough and stink horrendously. The second issue is at busy times you can't get on any machine or people 'tax' one machine with there coat or bottle while using machine. I think there needs to be a limit on the number of people entering at one time with members getting priority. I understand this may cause problems for some but sometimes the only time people can afford to get a workout in is these busy hours and it isn't fair. One problem I forgot to mention which isn't a problem as such because if you go to the office room you can find someone but the gym feels like is has no staff or no one to help because there all in one room. So all in this gym and facilities are 5* if the toilets were cleaned more regularly. Don't let my review put you off if a busy gym is your thing this would be perfect I just have social anxiety especially been skinny and trying to bulk at the moment. I hope the changing room and numbers at peak times can be fixed also staff to help to stop people from claiming other machines while already on one.

Negative experience: No parking spaces available, literally drove to the gym and back home. Googled JD says less busy than usually

Fantastic experience: Good quality for your money!!

Positive experience: Love the place train twice a day but just one gripe and that's people sat on the machines working on their mobiles more than the machines it's inconsiderate to others!!

Positive experience: Busy, not many classes, cheap but not the cheapest, no swimming pool and no steam room. Friendly and kind staff and cutomers.

Fantastic experience: They have great facilities, great space and good hygiene practices.

Negative experience: Facilities are fine but they charged me for an extra month of membership when I tried to cancel

Positive experience: Nice place to attend classes however would be great to have more high intensity classes available such as Body Attack and Step aerobics. Spinning and combat classes are great as well, but so far the only high intensity classes where you can have fun and burning calories at the same time.

Positive experience: Nice Gym with excellent facilities

Negative experience: Male workers come into the female only section without knocking, which disturbs and bothers many of the Muslim women that go there for the female only space. When the gym first opened they used to announce themselves and make sure it was okay for them to come in, but for a year now they’ve been coming in without knocking and the few that do knock barely give anyone time to put down what they’re doing. If you go in once, you can’t re-enter the gym the app will not let you in (so if you forget something in you car or forget something inside the gym you can’t go back in once you leave using the app) but you can ask for the staff to let you in which they usually do.

Negative experience: When I joined JD I was able to use the equipment with some ease but for months now it has been next to impossible to use the equipment I need to work out as you can barely move in the gym, I've been told that JD are giving asylum seekers free membership to the gym and I've also seen a lot of youngsters that I would bet are not 16 using the gym. This affects full paying members like myself when we can't train efficiently I feel robbed of my membership as I pay to be able to use the facility's when I'm able after work.ive tried before work and it's still too busy, tonight I went at 7pm and left at 8pm and the gym was still unbeatable busy, I'm considering cancelling my membership and moving to another gym we're I can actually train. There needs to be some policing of the people coming in as thus will stop some of the overcrowding issues . It's disgusting that you charge me the amount you do but I can't do what I need when I'm there. I wouldn't recommend joining if you actually want to train

Negative experience: You can not membership for less than one year

Fantastic experience: Great value, open 24hrs (excluding bank holidays), and has all the equipment necessary to do a full body workout....which helps my wellbeing.

Positive experience: 24hour services is quite good but what would have been better is having a free pass for people to actually work out a day and explore the gym facilities as other gyms do. It's one thing to do a tour of the gym is another to actually work out in it to see if it's a place for you.

Negative experience: It is the worst and the most disgusting club in England and they are scammers because they deducted money from my account twice and it did not return. I called several times but no one answered and when I sent my email, they did not give the correct answer.

Fantastic experience: how much dose it cost to join

Positive experience: Good gym, wouldn't dare come during peak times though as it's incredibly popular. I train around 11pm

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic gym, I tend to go between 4:30am and 5am as it's a lot quieter. I have been at peak times and although busy, you can usually get on everything you need. Great equipment, lots of squat racks and always clean.

Positive experience: Lot of equipment available even when buzzy music is way to loud can barely hear the footy with my headphones on would leave but need need it for when we inevitablely loss

Negative experience: Gym area itself is decent, but the toilets are disgusting. Signed up, went twice and couldnt use the toilets as the floor was covered in urine (not just puddles, absolutely soaked). Smell is really bad and bogeys wiped all over the walls.. both days the same. Worst thing is people were walking in it and then walking back into the gym. It's a shame because the game area is decent. Emailed the manager and he failed to acknowledge the problem.

Negative experience: Right! I've recently just joined the gym as it was convenient because it's open 24hrs so it seemed like a good choice! After a few days of taking it all in and I've come to the conclusion that this gym filthy! The toilets are absolutely disgusting, there is no standard of hygiene what so ever! Only 50% of the taps work and out of the 50% one is for cold water.. so only one tap actually had warm water ! The soap dispenser is also broken so they have provided us with shop bought bottles! I haven't seen the equipment being wiped down either and if we want to do it ourselves, well there's no facilities to do that either I doubt anything is gonna change anytime soon so I'll probably look for another gym once I'm fully settled. Negative experience: Been a member for years but I'm sick of basic failings to the point I've cancelled my membership. Today no soap, yesterday sink blocked and hand dryer broken, last week no toilet paper, couple of weeks ago no water from any tap. That's not to mention machines constantly broken and not maintained. Too busy all the time shows they are more interested in getting as much money as possible instead of retaining current ones. I realise it's a business but come on! A previous review mentions people parking in disabled bays and she's right but the PTs are the worst ones for it!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, only recommendation I’d say is to have a feature on the app where it tells you how busy the gym is at any given time.

Positive experience: The equipment in general is pretty good and a wide variety to choose from depending on your workout, but I’m afraid the reasons I’m only rating this gym 3 stars are: 1. The repairs for the equipment and facilities often take weeks and even months on end to be sorted. 2. The men’s changing room and showers constantly smell of urine very bad. 3. The QR code entry system is very flawed, purely for the fact the signal around the area is very weak. 4. My partner is disabled and it isn’t fair when people without blue badges are parking in the disabled bays, something that isn’t policed enough. Improvements need to be made, hence I am signing up to another gym instead.

Positive experience: The gym is cheap and open 24h. Plenty of space and machines. Only issue is that the toilets are disgusting (I’m talking about the toilets inside the changing room), but everything else is great.

Negative experience: AWFUL ! Paid membership to not be able to use hardly any machines because there are long queues. Went twice, twice left to go home after getting fed up of waiting around to use anything.

Positive experience: Been a member for 4 years. Standards have definitely slipped in the last year. Really poor attitude of some members spoils it for the rest. It’s usual to find plates left on machines, dumbbells not re-racked, empty drinks bottles left on the gym floor despite lots of bins, gym bags brought on to the gym floor, and the toilets are often left in a dirty state. The gym now looks scruffy. Also, lots of broken equipment and the air con is woefully inadequate. It’s becoming less enjoyable to work out here. Only the price and location keeps me coming back.

Negative experience: Gym is way too busy, I usually go at 8pm and I am having to queue for machine’s. Not enough machines and not well positioned in the gym quite a bit of dead space in certain areas, also don’t understand why treadmills get turned off at 9pm ‘for a nap’ when the gym is still rammed. Prefer the old JD

Positive experience: Absolutely cracking gym! Started as a beginner and was made to feel welcome. All of the staff are super friendly. I am taking one star because of the toilets, I think it should be cleaned more often as people come in and out.

Positive experience: Good gym but the size is intimidating. Not for shy hearted. There are saunas in ladies' and men's changing room. Also a small private room for ladies to exercise for those you value privacy. The price is a little much for what it is.

Negative experience: Literally queues to get onto equipment and this was at 8'o'clock on a night. Gave night club vibes, not really the scene if you want to go get your workout done with your headphones on in a relaxed environment and go home. Appears they may have taken on more members than they can facilitate

Negative experience: It is a public gym. Super crowded. Need to queue to use a machine. There’s only one leg press.

Fantastic experience: This gym is awesome, straightforward to get in and out using the app on your phone, it's clean, spacious. I definitely recommend. 10/10

Negative experience: Really disappointed. My 16 year old daughter and her friend signed up for membership to the gym. She has been twice and has never been inducted by a member of staff and has never been shown how to use the fitness machines or weights. This is a massive health and safety risk. There are so many dangers if you don’t know how to use these ? What are you thinking JD Gym My daughter will not be attending your gym again

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t believe how well equipped this JD gym was, compared to the one near me the price is ridiculously cheap when you take into account the variety of kit. Wish I lived closer!

Fantastic experience: Newbie to this gym. Always clean and tidy. Decent motivational music playing over the sound system (not just the loc radio station!). All equipment seems clean and well maintained. Every member of staff I've been on contact with has been helpful. No complaints from this user and would recommend to anyone looking for a gym.

Positive experience: First time attendance happened to have a good reception from a staff member, Ben. He took me around to get to know the place and went through a few exercises together. A very big thank you for that professional conduct.

Positive experience: A nice workout. A nice shower and a lovely sauna.

Negative experience: WiFi and phone signal is terrible so when listening to your gym playlist it might buffer or not even play, the toilets don't always have toilet paper and are sometimes a complete mess, there's nowhere to store push bikes so they're at risk of theft and exposed to the weather and can rust. Recently JD has for sure gone down hill, you can guarantee there's some equipment out of order amongst many other issues

Fantastic experience: Good gym. Lots of cardio machines. All sorts of people attend from body builders to plodders like myself. Lovely and clean staff helpful and approachable

Fantastic experience: The Employees are very friendly, the gym looks amazing and is very clean. The gym membership is worth it, no contract after 1 month, all the major equipment needed to achieve a good gym body is readily available.The building of this gym is a spectacle, I recommend this gym to anybody considering exercising.
