Fantastic experience: Please give a raise and congratulate your staff member Becky. She has been really lovely to me ever since I started the gym. Knows her stuff and helped me with a membership issue that another staff member couldn’t do 2 weeks ago. So polite and understanding which makes my overall gym experience even better. Sorry Becky that this review is long overdue as I promised you it after being so incredibly kind

Positive experience: I go here to watch my little Granddaughter do her football practice the place is very clean & the staff are polite & helpful. The toilets are kept clean & there's plenty of car parking as well as lots of disabled parking spaces. They have vending machines as well so you can grab a drink or snack

Fantastic experience: Great Venue for the Boxing event we competed in. Very enjoyable. We were well catered for. Only downside was the price, £65 over 2 days, no concessions for kids who came to support and under teenage years of age.

Positive experience: Good facilities, floor is excellent for wheelchair sport. Not enough disabled spaces for a venue that caters to so many disabled sports. Wheelchair Rugby, Basketball etc.

Fantastic experience: The place was great, didn't exist when I was at the University but just watched my eldest son have a great time while I sat and watched. Don't know what else the place has to offer, but it looks to be plenty!

Positive experience: Only at Hull University gym. People complain about only having 2 cable machines. So what do Hull university gym do .take 2 cable machines out and replace them with one machine.Great thinking. Now we have to wait longer to get on a bloody machine ..well done .

Parking Tip for anyone coming to this site for an event: I found out from a local that the parking around the site where it says "Permits Only" is only relevant during university hours and can be used outside the university's opening times.

Fantastic experience: Had a football tournament today

Fantastic experience: We enjoyed a 3hr Walking Netball session with members from clubs in our area. It was organised by Olivia Park who is our East Yorkshire Netball England contact. We had 4 teams of mixed abilities. This time we where playing a mini league with teams from South Cave, Recketts, Haltemprice, Hessle, South Holderness and Withernsea. It was tiring playing 2 full games in a session. It was good to see the other groups.

Fantastic experience: Very modern building with excellent facilities. The auditorium was warm and comfortable. Bar roomy with excellent wheelchair access.

Fantastic experience: My daughter is currently playing in the netball winter league here. There’s plenty of parking especially if you drive round the back. Toilet facilities are excellent. I use the viewing balcony to watch the matches and I really can’t fault the place at all. Never used any of the other things there so can’t comment.

Fantastic experience: Excellent venue with pitches, courts and studios for most, if not all sports. Fantastic large gym with numerous stations and a mixture of free and fixed weights - probably the best I've seen (including some other university sports facilities). It's a 'no ego' gym and all fitness levels are catered for, making exercise enjoyable and stress free. The variety of classes is superb too - from bootcamp to boxercise, bodypump, yoga and much more. No two classes are ever the same which makes for challenging yet rewarding group exercise. Changing facilities are large, clean and well maintained so you never feel cramped and each changing room has individual shower cubicles. Last, and by no means least, the staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable from the reception staff and the instructors through to cleaning staff etc. Overall an excellent place to get fit and play sports. Negative experience: VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. We used the 60x40 3G pitch for nearly a year every week without fail. Even registered with East Riding FA as per their request only to be kicked off it after the Uni’s started. We weren’t even considered or asked if we would like to continue. We were the only regular booking they had and were chucked asides. Absolutely rubbish policy and loyalty clearly means nothing to these guys.

Negative experience: Gym could be great but staff who have designed the gym still don't understand the basics of weight lifting. Soft spongy floor in squat racks make it unsafe to squat. I hate to give the gym a one star review as I have been coming here for years but twice I have told staff and the second time I got a very rude response.

Positive experience: Helpful staff, very cheap if a year or month pass. However, very expensive if just fir a day, it was £5.50!!!!!! Plenty of treadmills and equipment. An area for weight lifting. Could have more punching bags, but a new sports facility is going to be ready in September which looks absolutely amazing. Right ob university campus, ideal location. Plenty of lockers for your stuff.
