Fantastic experience: Best gym for women and men , fantastic gym experience !!! I recently had the pleasure of trying out Energy Fitness Bethnal green and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Here’s a breakdown of my thoughts: Facilities and Equipment: The gym is equipped with the latest and most advanced machines, catering to every type of workout. Whether you’re into cardio, strength training, or HIIT, there’s something for everyone. The equipment is well-maintained and hygienic, which is a big plus. The cleanliness of the gym is impeccable. The staff ensures that all areas, including the locker rooms and restrooms, are spotless. There are plenty of sanitizing stations around, making it easy to wipe down equipment before and after use The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome. I met Mike and Lauren who gave me an excellent tour The overall atmosphere is motivating and positive.
Fantastic experience: What a fantastic gym! They have positive gym culture down to a T. What I love the most about the team is that everyone is so kind and positive about fitness. No one will judge you, if you are a beginner this is the perfect place to start, you ll be guided with kindness and professionalism. Big shout out to Lauren who not only runs the best classes ever but also managed to make me love lounges! Thanks to Michael too who runs this place smoothly. Keep up the great work and give Lauren a promotion!!!!
Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Energie Bethnal Green for around a year now & really recommend it if you’re looking for a gym that is affordable, has the things you need, and staff who are approachable, down to earth & will help you out if you are like me and don’t know what you’re doing. Big shout out to manager Mike & PT Kiefer who have gone above and beyond to support me on my fitness journey and Lauren who is always there to greet me with her energy and motivation! <3
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym and facilities! Ever since the new ownership, I’ve seen big upgrades in the facilities and a clear investment has been made; I get the feeling that they care about their members’ experience. I also like that they are now offering weekly boxing sessions and it’s a great atmosphere to work out in! Great location and opening hours too! Highly recommend.
Negative experience: Think twice before joining—or make sure you’re planning 30 days ahead just to cancel your membership! Extremely frustrated with the lack of transparency and rude tone I encountered when trying to cancel my membership. I requested to cancel on October 31st, after 5 days slow reply, lot of questions about why to cancel, only to be met with an abrupt response stating I would still be charged for the whole November due to a 30-day notice policy. Which is funny. The response from the team was dismissive, as you can see from the screenshot, lacking any sense of understanding or respect. It’s unacceptable to treat customers with such disregard, and also to be clear, I’m not upset over the £29.99; I haven’t even used the gym since the end of June, meaning I’ve already paid for four months without stepping in. It’s their attitude that really got to me.
Fantastic experience: My happy place! Big space, clean and machines are always available. The staff is pretty cool, specially Kiefer always brings the good vibes
Negative experience: I have been a long time member of this gym, perhaps since its inception at this location. In that time, I’ve enjoyed my journey. I’ve had periods of success trying to improve my fitness and body. I’ve met so many like minded individuals and staff over the years whom I cherish for the memories created. This gym is franchise based business and about 18-12 months ago the previous franchisee sold the business. Since then, this gym has been getting worse. It’s true that staff are pleasant and the equipment is mostly available for folks to undergo their respective workouts. The negative based observations I’ve had over the course of 18 months are as follows: 1) Staff whilst friendly seem preoccupied with staying in the office rather than at the front desk. I understand that staff camaraderie is essential, however sometimes people are standing for minutes to be let in or to be spoken to. Some staff are also bringing their pets to the gym. This is not a guide dog but a pet. This is a safety concern and sets the wrong impression to staff and members. 2) This gym use to have a communal jukebox which was a great addition at the time although members use to spam their preferred genre sometimes! The communication music is now controlled centrally via the office I’m guessing from a premium Spotify account. The general playlist is acceptable, however sometimes staff tend to play songs with the N word which I abhor considering the times we live in and the social/civil struggles around the world. I find it baffling that staff cannot select censored editions of these songs. 3) Staff are not bothered to enforce rules. Particularly, they are not speaking to members who constantly leave equipment lying on around on the floor. Gyms are hazardous by nature, but you would think that staff would try to follow health and safety rules to minimise accidents. As I’ve said, this is a gym which is close to my heart, but I will seriously consider leaving if improvements are not made, especially as a PureGym is opening nearby and it will cost less per month to subscribe to. Negative experience: Sad to see I'm not the only one facing issues when trying to leave the gym. I cancelled my membership months ago - MONTHS (!!!). Yet, they keep charging me every month. Every month I have to ask for a refund and ask for them to actually CANCEL my membership - which they guarantee they have done - until the following month comes and I have to do it all over again. Honestly, if you're looking for a gym in the area, I'd go to fitness for less - never had a single issue with them, should have stayed there and not fallen for energies fitness 'promotions'
Negative experience: I liked the gym itself, well facilitated until you decide to leave which they make very difficult and misleading. I first contacted the gym on 1st July in person to try to cancel my membership from 31st July. The staff said they will give me an email address to contact for cancellation only if I leave them a good review.... Already a very questionable approach. I sent an email to that address to cancel my membership on 4th July, didn't receive a reply for a few days so I sent another message to their Instagram on 6th July. I never received a reply to that either. So again I went in in-person to request a cancellation, they told me they gave me the wrong email address to begin with. So I sent another email to that new email address. On the 11th of July I finally received confirmation that my gym membership was finally cancelled. Then I received an email today 1.5 months later that I owe them £32 because my membership is only cancelled from end of August and I'm due payment for the whole of August. I was told that they require a 30-day notice with cancellations and I told them 28 days before only. Given it took me 4 multiple attemts to try and cancel and it was their fault for giving me the wrong email address in the first place, they really should have been more understanding and let those 2 days pass. But most importantly I'm furious that I was not told about my cancellation taking place from today earlier because I lost out on a whole month of gym access which I would have otherwise used, had I known that my cancellation is from August not July. I feel totally robbed and misled by the staff and safe to say I won't be coming back or recommend anyone to Energise Fitness ever. Reading the recent reviews I'm not the only one who's been having issues with cancellation and getting fees. Do yourself a favour and avoid this gym.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym. Have been a member for years, but started getting awkward when two out of three machines I used regularly stopped working properly. It would reset the settings about every minute unless set as default, making me almost fall off several times. Reported it multiple times at the gym, but nothing got fixed for over a year. Stopped going as it was too annoying trying to use my fav machine, but still was paying a membership fee. Tried to cancel and got forced to pay more, even though the reason got explained. The answer from a member: "I think it got fixed now". Too little too late. Never coming back.

Positive experience: Leon is a champ and has elevated the vibe in the gym which was lacking a little. The gym itself is well-equipped and provides a solid environment for training.
Negative experience: Rude staff, avoid at all costs After deciding to cancel my membership, I was informed that I needed to pay for an extra month or face a £20 fine. To avoid the fine, I spoke to Mike, one of the employees, on June 25th. He assured me that my direct debit was set up again to handle the payment. Despite this assurance, the direct debit did not go through. Consequently, I received an email stating that I now had to pay the £20 fine. Following this, your employees contacted me, asking me to come in person to settle my outstanding balance. I visited the gym on July, the 5th, only to be told once again by Mike that I could not pay my balance in person. Instead, he stated I needed to wait for the £54 to be processed and then I would be refunded £20. Given the unprofessionalism and inconsistency of your staff, I have no confidence that I will receive the £20 refund despite my good intentions of paying my balance in advance. All I want is to pay the £34 I owe and end my association with this gym. This whole experience has been incredibly frustrating, and your staff has not been helpful or accommodating in the slightest.

Positive experience: The best local gym for the price without doubt! Good culture and environment with pretty good equipment and very friendly staff!
Positive experience: It's a good gym, though the recent look/layout of the gym is not very practical. A bit squashed in areas. The membership price doesn't justify the equipment/facility they have, and recently suffering constant issues with equipment being broken and waiting to be fixed. The opening/ closing times on the weekend is a joke and not very practical. At one point, the gym used to be 24 hours, but since covid, they decided to reduce the hours throughout the week.

Negative experience: Avoid this gym. Despite my numerous attempts to cancel my membership, I've been consistently ignored and charged, even after requesting the cancellation of the direct debit on my bank account as well. Everything seems great until you try to leave; then, it becomes apparent that their focus is solely on money.
Fantastic experience: Énergie Fitness is the only place you want to train in Bethnal Green! The staff are super helpful and friendly, you will not get the intimidation you sometimes feel when walking into a new gym. The classes provided both morning and in the evening are fantastic, with a great variety to chose from (there’s always regulars so you know it’s good!) The gym itself is very clean with lots of space, great equipment to chose from. Even when busy you will always find a place to train.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing gym, great set up and facilities but most of all, the staff that are running it. I dealt with Jade, Denada and Kiefer the most and from the beginning they were so incredible and helpful. The staff create such an atmosphere of community from the second you walk in that I would really look forward to going after work. Apart from this, the classes were something that I took part in and found really great. If you work/live in the area I would highly recommend popping in and joining. It won’t be long until you realise just how genuine and great this place is.
Negative experience: Great staff but uses awful business practices if you try to leave. They’ll send debt collectors after you after you’ve been told you’ve cancelled by staff in the gym.

Negative experience: Really bad employers as they do not know how to treat a customer and not educated about how to be a professional and help customers, They kind of scammed me into paying 2 months in which I did not attend the gym at all (I asked to cancel my membership before those 2 months) and the employee was too lazy to do it, lack of communication and terrible customer service as they do not reply to emails or call you back. to be honest it is a bad gym plus it is packed with people so you do not get to train properly.

Thank you for highlighting our cancellation policy which is giving 1 months notice via email or via the app. Therefore if you cancel mid month you will be obligated to pay the next month. Separately, the membership is charged irrespective of your attendance, clearly we hope you attend all the time and use our facilities but if you do not attend you will still be charged. Fantastic experience: Perfect gym! It has all you need, the machines are very new, the stuff is always there willing to help. They have classes too and the price is the best one comparing to any other one around. I also had a few sessions with Zaid PT and he was great.

I never felt nervous to learn and ask questions. The trainers are so helpful and the classes are so fun and challenging. This place has been great for my mental and physical health. Negative experience: Overall, I had a pretty good experience at this gym over my membership of a year and a half. It wasn't too busy (for zone 2 London), decent equipment, some friendly staff, and a reasonable price. However, the cancellation policy is very sneaky and my experience leaving the gym really soured my opinion of it. I had a rolling monthly membership for which, after I moved address and before the payment was due, I cancelled the direct debit. A few days after the payment was due, I received an email from the gym explaining that I was still due to pay the fee PLUS a £20 penalty for missing the payment. I rang the gym and spoke to the manager who explained that I needed to cancel my membership on the website 30 days before the payment was due. I told him that this was not made clear to me when I signed up and he smugly said that I "should have read the terms and conditions" (which was never sent to me). He also explained that, since the date was now after my payment date, I'd also owe the next month's payment as well, totalling £90. I explained how I thought this was unclear and asked if anyone else had had the same issue and he told me a few others had. I've also seen others complaining of similar things in the reviews here. Eventually, he reluctantly brought it down to £34.99 for a single month's payment with an attitude that he was doing me a favour and no acknowledgement that the policy was unclear.

Fantastic experience: The classes at énergie are good lengths, at workable times and they keep them switched up by regularly changing the exercises so they don’t get boring. The culture of the classes is really inclusive; the staff, Dathan and Rocky who lead most of the classes I go to, are super supportive, fun and take the time to teach technique on new exercises. The class sizes are always pretty small so there is no space to hide at the back!

Fantastic experience: Really great gym with a community feel - I started coming here 2 years ago and felt really unfit when I started but quickly improved thanks to several amazing classes and an amazing short 4 months working with a brilliant PT (Kiefer). The PTs and staff are the perfect balance of motivational yet kind. Shoutout to Kiefer, Kelly & Herakles especially! Would highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area.

Fantastic experience: Such a great gym, I’ve never come across one that’s got a real community feel to it. All the staff are so lovely, friendly and always there to help from day 1 of joining.I’m so glad I chose them over other gyms near me. They have lots of equipment, it’s spacious, the members are also very friendly- overall a really great ambiance. Shout out to my PT Herakles for being the best, most supportive guide in my fitness journey- highly recommend him and this gym! They also have a cafe upstairs- get the fresh blueberry protein shake!

Negative experience: Dues to lock down the gym is no longer 24/7 which doesn't make sense as a lot of other gyms have gone back to normal. Also, they have increased their monthly fees due to "cost of living" which is ridiculous. Really disappointed!!
Fantastic experience: I have been a member for a year and my experience has been great. Very careful staff and lots of choices of machines available. The gym is also very clean.
Negative experience: They will lie to you saying that cancellation is easy and just a month of notice is needed before signing the contract. I called when I wanted to cancel and was told I only needed to send an email stating my wish to cancel and would then be automatic. This was not the case, they kept charging me and when I asked for clarification they told me I needed to send my UTILITY BILLS and PROOF OF ADDRESS (which I find to be very personal information) in order for my contract to be cancelled (because I had to prove I was moving to cancel?). So they lied to me before signing the contract and when I called to cancel. Now they refuse to cancel my contract until I send my personal information proving that I am moving country.
Negative experience: Avoid this gym, poor equipments, small space so when it gets busy your waiting around for too long especially with cables and dumbells as they 1 set ranging from 20-50kg, below 20s they have a set of 2. Cables are slugish, Bench for barbell chest press is bad, the back rest is too narrow and not wide enough and I'm average so if your petite then you should be fine and if you go heavy prepare to injure yourself as when you push out for the first one your pushing above your head and then getting to your chest. This will cause injury not necessarily on light weights. Environment is nice but the equipents slack big time and to end it off it closes at 10.30pm and 6pm on weekends. Then they have the audacity to put the price up while providing this poor service, Trust me pay a fiver more and you'll get really good gyms local this site. So many people I know have left this gym and continuing to leave as they will not improve their service. It will be only amount of time before they lose the vast majority if they don't step it up.

Positive experience: Friendly staff and crowd but awkward layout. Although quite spacious the free weights section and heavy bag sections in particular are just cramped. Meanwhile, they have two rows of cardio machines that is never fully occupied and therefore is an inefficient use of space. The heavy bags are so close to one another that basically only one can be used. Also, there is a pull up bar right next to it which also makes using the bag closest to the wall a no-go. The chest fly machine is too close to the seated chest press machine. Not a problem if its not busy. But Ive seen people slam the handles as they can cross paths during motion.
Positive experience: Nice gym, good vibes, friendly staff who make you feel welcome and part of a community, awesome classes., lots of equipment. Sh!t water fountain, often a queue - they need to install another!
Fantastic experience: Very good equipments and extremely hospitable instructors/ trainers. Small weekly challenges will help you stay motivated.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for about a year now and I can say it's a great gym. It's very well equipped with machines and free weights and both the bathroom and weight room are extremely clean. The staff is really nice and creates a welcoming environment, especially Barbara is always friendly and helpful in the monthly challenges.

Fantastic experience: I starters going to Energie Fitness in Bethnal Green this summer, and I signed up with a PT. After six months, I am more than happy with my decision. The gym is clean and safe, there is always personnel around, and Katie May, my trainer, has helped me achieve such great results for my form and overall fitness. I cannot recommend this gym more.
Fantastic experience: It is a very friendly gym where the personal trainers are always eager to help with any equipment or exercise you need help with. It has many machines for all body parts and it makes me feel like home. It is always clean and follows all covid-19 measures.

Negative experience: Often impossible to get in if you're a Gympass member. There's no one at the entrance and no one answers the phone. Good equipment and space once you're in though.

Fantastic experience: It has all the equipment you need. Nice, spacious layout (the most Covid friendly gym I've tried). Quite a bit of natural sunlight, too. Very pleasant overall. Only slight negative is that occasionally the A/C is colder than I can handle even when running, but other than that
Fantastic experience: Herakles is a kind and funny guy. He is the best PT out there, Heych is a diamond and the only reason I lost weight was because of him, his literally motivated me everyday and I am ever so grateful. Lee you're so lovely. You're the happiest manager I've ever met, you always have a smile on you're face. I will miss you and the family vibe you bring to the gym. Good luck for the future!

Negative experience: Despite repeated attempts to get this gym to stop calling me to try and sell me cheap membership, I continue to get constant calls from them- Lee, Emilio and John. I have emailed repeatedly requesting my details be removed, but they have not done so and continued to contact me to sell me a membership.

Fantastic experience: This gym is amazing! I tried several gyms around the area first and this was by far the best. The environment is non intimidating and very welcoming. The staff are so lovely and the members are friendly too. The classes are as great as other expensive premium clubs. I'd definitely recommend this club to others :)

Fantastic experience: Got chatting to a lovely chap Warren, really knows his stuff and is even qualified in sports massage! His knowledge is amazing and i would definitely recommend him if you are planning on taking personal training! Love Love Love!
Positive experience: Overall decent gym and excellent value for money. My main complaint (although maybe this is just me) is that the mens showers are way too hot!
Fantastic experience: Have only been a member of this gym now for a couple of weeks, but I have already been SO impressed by the facilities and staff. The personal trainers are all very welcoming and knowledgeable - and in particular I've been super impressed with Shaz and her gym floor manner, offering training advice and tips around the place. Look forward to going along each week and definitely glad I've joined!
Negative experience: Very bad head office management, no one to take your case seriously, the number you call is chargeable (cost me almost £20 extra on my phone bill) Basically i suffered to cancel my membership after 2 months being in touch with them. Lack of communcation between the manager and head office)...I just feel is managed by the wrong people that they are not taking the business seriously to deliver the list customer service standards...the only thing is good is the staff in the gym, they are lovely

Fantastic experience: Good vibes from the moment Dario greets you upon arrival and is always there to lend a helping hand. The staff are amazing - a special shout out to Tony, Samra and Shaz for providing brilliant classes and highly commend them for their energy, motivation and support.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with all necessary equipment and facilities to do any type of training you want. Their friendly stuff run classes every morning and evening, as well as personal training sessions. Good place if you live around for a great price. I paid £16 as a registration fee and £27 per month, much cheaper than the ones I checked around.
Negative experience: I had issues with the gym and the billing. The gym: the music was erratic and distracting. They had a juke box and people would choose their own music. There was often chewing gum in the water fountain. I found that people had a habit of slamming weights on the machines. Billing: I gave my 30 days termination notice on August 2. They insisted on charging me for all of September as well. When I double checked, they insisted that no further payments would be taken... but then kept charging me for *another* four months, until I realised. When I asked for a refund of the additional four months, and also most of September (pro rata), they said they would only refund three months. They thought I was being charged retrospectively, not in advance for the month, so thought they were entitled to October payment, too. So once they understood their own billing cycle, they refunded four months of payment... minus £5. My mind was blown. Such a waste of my time. I also told them that I was angry and it it was their choice to take all the extra money from me, but I would leave a review about it... so here we are.
Fantastic experience: Great gym. Friendly Staff. Really helpful as I had to go away for a while so they froze my membership instantly and when I wanted to unfreeze before the time agreed they did so just as quickly.
