Bowling Pool

Negative experience: Visited twice after a 14 year hiatus and wouldn't come again. The pool and changing facilities are ok but the many of the staff including the manager are impolite, rude and obnoxious. All require a lesson in communicating appropriately and sensitively. The useless male lifeguard lets the children run riot in the swim for all. Limited ladies only sessions. Lots to be said about the people that attend too who have no manners or etiquette, jumping straight into the pool after being in the sauna. Disgusting.

Positive experience: Good pool. Ok gym facilities but every Sunday it’s not always open and if it’s open they close on odd times like 2pm. Sunday timetable is inconsistent.

Fantastic experience: Helpful staff, decent pool size, clean showers, toilets and pool - what more do you need? Hairdryers cost 20p to use and I believe you need a coin for the lockers (although I might be getting it mixed up with Shipley pool).

Positive experience: Alright swimming but there is only one men only day which is Sunday and that is annoying since I don’t wanna swim with the opposite gender (I’m not gay lol) and I’m busy on some Sundays. But when I’m not busy I go and they told me off because I was running up to jump on the pool. I wasn’t running fast enough to slip but I had to jump from really close which bothers me. And the men only swim isn’t like u can come by yourself . It’s a parent and child men only swim which is weird

Positive experience: Everything is perfect just some people don’t understand that they are coming to swimming but not to talking in the middle of the swimming pool.

Negative experience: I’d only recommend this swimming bath if you want to be constantly harassed and degraded by staff members. Staff are very rude and condescending, takes 48hrs for a refund which the manager was reluctant to give me as he was just sticking up for his staff. The staff laugh at complaints. The changing rooms are vile and definitely need a deep clean. Rank. We got kicked out after 20minutes of her following us around staring then she told my friend she couldn’t swim when she can she’s just not as confident in it as others.

Positive experience: they don't have much days for women's only swimming

Negative experience: Bad that you class a 16 year old as an adult, but then say they can't come with a younger friend cause they need an adult with them makes no sense, ridiculous

Positive experience: The water was hot and cold in waves - a bit weird. Full of people not wanting to swim, so I wouldn't come if I want to do a distance and go home quickly. But I went because Sedbergh was closed that day and I wanted to do some exercise and it did the job.

Positive experience: Been a few times with my children ans we think it's great.

Negative experience: This swimming pool never ever improves its lesson schedule it's not a place for working class people lesson shift they don't put flexible Time almost 10 years I ask for lessons they have only Tuesday 7pm it shows poor business planning management system. The worst thing is it's our nebour

Negative experience: this place is not good on staff i cane one week 5 minutes late and they didnt let me in when it was not busy at all came another week and they did not let me in saying we have to book in even tho they had just told us to walk in feom the previous week and however they did not change the timetable to book in they had just kept it as walk in

Negative experience: I am not been at this pool nearly 6 years. After that I took my son who's 9 to women only family swim. I am.been looking at this website and checking everything like times price ages. And again they didn't mentioned how old a boy allowed in a pool. I used my own brain I thought it would be up to 10 years old who will not allowed. But when I got there fins out that my 9 years is not allowed aswell. And on reception lady was insist that there is a age mentioned. What they looked for themselves and couldn't it. After all these years website same.

Positive experience: Really friendly and helpful staff. They offer a quiet gym and sauna as well as pool where you can buy a membership which is £27 a month and gives you access to all facilities. The pool itself is lovely and warm and customers there were all nice and friendly as well. Though the changing rooms are unisex which can be an issue for some people so that's something to consider but the cubicals are all private even though it is quite a small space. Lovely x

Positive experience: As the rating suggests its OK. Its a small pool, serving a large local community. Good for a quick dip, or some lengths, but it can be quite busy at times, making it cramped and difficult to swim with younger/weaker swimmers. No slide or diving boards, so take some inflatables to entertain the kids. Water is warm, and changing facilities are pretty good usually a cubicle available, and lockers are free, but you do need a pound coin which is returned. It is convenient it being local, and at least we have it there, however if you want a more exciting swimming experience for younger children you may want to consider looking further afield.

Negative experience: I'd only recommend this swimming baths if you don't like fun and want to be constantly harassed by staff. Seems like you can swim and breathe and that's it. The kids they were telling off all the time were causing no harm and doing nothing dangerous. I think it's because they didn't have any adults with them that the staff took it upon themselves to become Karens. The shouting that the staff were doing was far more annoying.

Positive experience: The pool is great and it is warm which is nice. We attended the free swim session with our children. The children enjoyed themselves. It wasn't too busy and the session is fairly long. The changing area is mixed for both males and females which I found slightly uncomfortable. There are separate cubicles. There appeared to be great disabled facilities. Went for a pilates class. I didn't use the changing facilities, took my own mat (there are mats available), the studio was clean and spacious. The class was full, it was enjoyable. The instructor is lovely. Very positive and encouraging. I felt comfortable as a beginner. Would reccommend.

Negative experience: Disgusting service! Under trained staff with lack of communication skills, providing completely wrong information. Upon chasing this up with the supervisor and other members of staff their unacceptable behaviour made our experience like a complete waste of time. Unhygienic changing rooms. Will not be returning!

Negative experience: I don't even think they deserve one star!! I would like to share this review and i hope no one else has to go through what I did today. I have been to this pool a few times but will never go again after today. I wore a normal swimming costume which by the way I have worn many times in this same pool before and was approached by a worker called Iram who wouldn't allow me to enter the pool as she claimed my costume wasn't up to 'their standards'. I challenged her as she couldn't provide a valid explanation as to why she was being difficult- she then went off to call her manager Katy. Katy didn't even give me a chance to speak she started raging and shouting at me and completely lost control of herself- she is supposed to be a manager! all I can say is I have never ever been spoken to in such a degrading manner. I told her to stop behaving like a child so she walked away and said I can't deal with this. next I spoke to her manager Andy who basically stuck up for his staff members, he didn't apologise or even acknowlege what his stupid staff have done.. apparently I will get a call back after things have calmed down- WOW all I have to say is NEVER EVER AGAIN. I will make sure this review is all over social media you unprofessional bunch of imbeciles.

Negative experience: I do not even want give a star but to give this review i have to. I have been visiting this pool for many months and never have i ever come across such rude uprofessional staff in my life. They have no idea on how to speak to their customers, their managers are so rude to their customers everytime you go higher up the management line all they do is stick up for their staff members regadless of how rude they are. The managers shout at you, they storm off stating "im not dealing with this" what manager does that!!!! Never have i ever seen sfaff members speak to a customer the way they do.

Fantastic experience: Have used the pool for few years now. The staff here are friendly and helpful. The pool is ideal for kids and disabled people as it is warmer than other pools and has a ramp and hoist to assist users with mobility issues. Changing facilities have family rooms and lockers ( £1 refundable required for lockers and change is available from reception) . A seated viewing area is available with vending machines. Never had any issues finding parking in the car park either. Swimming lessons and pool parties are also available here.

Positive experience: Pool of piss ... warm hot water in pool but not empty all day everytype of person uses it so by end of day your swimming in bacteria infested waters. Staff are useless not approachable clock watchers passing time for shift to end. Pool spacious with car park and decent changing rooms.
