Fantastic experience: Good range of facilities and activities. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Well equipped gym, variety of fitness classes. Great wet and dry facilities.

Negative experience: What an absolute joke of a place pay nearly £500 for a year's membership thing you can use the pool whenever you want to but no all the time they put snot nosed kids first well everyone else has to wait just anther money hungry company avid at all cost

Fantastic experience: We enjoyed a swim session at Carn Brea Leisure Centre. There was a smaller, slightly walled off section for younger swimmers. Good changing facilities with plenty of lockers.

Negative experience: This is for the gym only. I have been going over the span of 3 years and I have terminated my membership this month. Equipment is okay but getting a bit old, some equipment regularly breaks and has been out of order for a couple of months (They did buy replacement dumbbells but they didn't really need replacing). Sections of the gym are now randomly getting closed throughout parts of the day and to top it all off they increased the monthly cost (Now £43 a month JUST for gym access). Not to mention that it's constantly packed from 3pm onwards to 8pm with a lack of effort from staff to stop people messing around (The staff are lovely and helpful however). Shame to see it decline in such a way.

Negative experience: Have been playing squash here for over a year. Not sure why but they suddenly decided to put a load of fishing net on the ceiling which is keeping the balls trapped as opposed to just dropping. Found out it's because they are having the ceiling repaired after we lost our ball. The manager was not helpful and when we asked if we could keep the ball to replace our lost one he said no then gave it to us. Rackets hanging from the ceiling in the net where they have been thrown by previous players trying to get the balls. At least advise your customers about this situation as we would have avoided playing as it's problematic. Thank you to the lady on reception though who was helpful shame about the manager!

Fantastic experience: Big fan of this Leisure centre run by a charitable trust. Feel like by using this Gym I am contributing to the ongoing survival of the center particularly the swimming pool which is vital in a place like Cornwall for teaching life saving skills. Gym is great and staff wonderful. Feel like there are lots more signs and rules around recently but generally relaxed.

Fantastic experience: I use the gym here,no expert,lol. But has 1300square foot of gym machines, has adult pool and small pool as well. Something for everyone really. And everyone seems really friendly. Can't ask for much more than that really.

Negative experience: I forgot my coat at this leisure center and my mom told the people working there if they could find my coat but they couldn't find it someone stole my coat and they did nothing about it also I am banned from using inflatables in the pool because I accidently ripped the tube and a rude old man almost had a go at me just for doing a backdive in the pool and threatened my teacher to kick us out the pool is cold and the rules are dumb this pool does not do a good job of security and making sure nobody steals stuff this pool leisure center is ridiculous

Negative experience: I've started a Gold Membership at Carn Brea Leisure Centre (Community Centre) months ago in Idea of doing exercises and have my youngest son learn to swim. The gold membership allows you as an adult to bring one of your underaged children to swim for free but people at the reception seem to forget that and often asked me to pay for my child. When trying to book classes at reception, Amanda always told me there are not spaces available, but when I was to the Gym office, Caroline and Steve found online a lot of available spaces. Today I decided to go to the Gym: running and rowing. I swiped the card and screen sent me back to reception office. Sandy who is the Manager of the reception told me I need to pay £3.00 for a missed booking which I previously have cancelled on Wednesday with Amanda because of the Ciaran storm. Amanda didn't register my cancelation. Sandy remembered I called and she cancelled it. After the 'adventure' I'm still trying to go down to the gym, but Sandy is asking me if I did any booking for it and she advised me to go on the online website in the reception to book a gym session. I've tried but it wouldn't work and Sandy offered to do this session booking on her computer. When I got down to the gym I asked Caroline the gym Manager if I need a booking for the Gym. Caroline said I don't need one. Every single time I went to this Community Centre they made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. This place is advertising as a Community place but it doesn't show any sympathy or kindness. There is untrained and rude staff. Never forget: This Centre is maintained by the Community. We all pay for services to keep this place going. Nobody deserves such an appalling treatment.

Fantastic experience: CAC is an amazing club for all ages and really inspires children to achieve.

Positive experience: Lovely staff. Parking facilities are usually great but if you go on a day there is an event on nearby then it becomes tricky with no lined parking? People cannot organise parking themselves it seems. Could have easily fit another 20 cars in if people had parked straight. Swimming facilities have improved since the refurbishment. The changing rooms are still lacking. Only one cubicle with a baby changing table or only one we could see. Pool was a tad chilly which isn't great for babies and the learner pool was way too full.

Fantastic experience: We've visited most of the swimming pools in and around Newquay, Camborne, and Truro with the grandchildren and in our opinion, this is the nicest one. It is clean, tidy, we'll maintained and the water temperature is noticeably warmer than the other pools. The only downside is that the free car park is very small, so you may have to wait a few minutes for someone to leave.

Fantastic experience: Great clean pool , good value as you get 1 and half hours in most sessions.I drive from truro to go there as better value, the staff are friendlier and let the kids have more fun they put floats, balls and toys in the pool .would recommend

Fantastic experience: My first visit in 5 years. So clean. Hot showers. Clean pool at 29 degrees Celsius. A secure place for me to leave my bike. £1 refunded for locker, or shopping trolley coin accepted. Friendly staff.

Positive experience: I take my grandaughter here on Fridays as its family swim day and only costs £3 for me. I would love to do more swimming during the week but it's very expensive. Because she's 2 years old we use the baby pool and I'm trying to get her to swim more with her arm bands on and she's doing very well, however the baby pool can get a bit over crowded the life guards do count how many are in there and turn people away when it's full but they let alot of kids in who can clearly swim as there doing lengths under water and then play catch or volley ball in there when there's babies around. The bigger pool has 3 lanes roped off for swimming and the rest of the pool is for messing around in, the only problem I find with that pool is its so cold! I can't comment on the rest of the facilities in the centre as I don't use them.

Fantastic experience: I only used the swimming pool but it is nice and big. Reception staff are friendly and helpful and the pool is watched over by at least two lifeguards.

Negative experience: Gym is well equipped but you cant get anywhere near any of it between the hours of half 3 and half 6 due to it looking like a school playground. Bonkers decision to allow 12 year olds to use the gym, has ruined it for the regulars who pay the full price.

Positive experience: A great pool but the receptionist was rather rude on the phone when I needed to call to book over the phone when the booking drop down would not work on my phone. They really need to allow booking without signing up as it takes 20mins just to try and book a swim session.

Positive experience: Incredibly cold sports hall. A trek of 2 flights of stairs and 3 corridors to the nearest WC.

Positive experience: Lovely modern pool with a huge car park behind. Shared changing areas are good but often smell strongly or are particularly dirty if you go between school swim times. The womens toilets smell particularly strongly. Other than that I enjoy going, and exercise pools are so few and far between in our county!

Huge car park to rear. Good opening hours. Offering a reduced price for family swims on a Friday atm. Advisable to book aqua classes - they are very popular. Track, Gym, Pool, courts, cafe. They also run various courses throughout the year.

Fantastic experience: I have been using this centre the last couple of yrs & I am so sad I have to leave due to moving! They did a brilliant job during the lockdowns etc !!!!! I can't praise this place enough, they have a brilliant staff, cleanliness is a priority, it's inviting, showers are warm (not as hot as I like them but sufficient), classes are varied & at good times for people who work, the Pool is great & I love the Dive Pit. I did Pilates / Yoga and Body Balance with Nicky (sometimes Pilates with Malcolm) & another lady mainly due to a couple of injuries that are helped with those types of classes! Nicky is a great teacher (also loved her Aqua Classes, so much Fun). The gym is Huge and has tons of equipment, I loved that the My Wellness app tracked everything! I only used the gym a few times as I prefer classes! I may occasionally still swim here just so I can return! Keep up the Great work & I honestly would be staying a member if I could!

Positive experience: Clean and seemed to have good facilities. 4 stars as parkings not great and i didn't like the fact you can't wear your shoes in the changing rooms. Felt a bit strange getting dressed then having to sit at the entrance of the changing rooms to dry feet and put shoes and socks on. Understand why but still.

Positive experience: It's a nice swimming pool and had a good slide when I went back here in childhood days. Plus it was also nice to visit for when it hosted a model railway exhibition with when my mum's former work friends took me with them to explore it.

Fantastic experience: I did my first aid course here and the trainer (Andy) was excellent, he was extremely knowledgeable and made every practical fun and memorable, during the Training session someone witnessed a lady collapsing outside by the road, within 5 seconds Andy was rushing out the door to give the lady first aid, he literally saved the woman's life. He was calm and provided excellent care to the injured woman. If you need first aid training this is the best place in the area to go

Positive experience: I go here to swim every week.The staff courteous and polite, the pool is a decent size and the leisure centre very clean. However, I recently emailed with a couple of suggestions to improve the experience, but unfortunately I haven't received any acknowledgement or response.

Fantastic experience: A lovely little leisure centre with many different activities available. You can swim (lessons are available too) there's a gym, fitness classes available and also indoor sports like tennis, squash and badminton, plus others. Plenty to choose from! Staff are friendly and helpful too!!

Negative experience: Very upset and disappointed about the appointment cancellation (you need to call in 24 hours before the appointment)and this they don't explain to you.When you book the appointment on the phone and you go for the first time and you don't know the rules about the cancellation is very nice all that to be explain to you so you don't lose your money.But I lose the money because I didn't know.I don't think nobody wants too lose they money in special when they book for the first time.Is very nice too explain to them all the rules an the phone when the book because is your duty too inform the new customers about your policy. When I book the appointment I stay like 10-15 minutes an the phone and give all my details an bank details and I explain this is the first time I coming so I need too know more .They didn't tell me nothing about the 24 hours cancellation. If I know it I will call before I lose my money. So thank you for losing my money because you didn't explain to me. Thank you very much

Negative experience: Couldn't recommend them at all. Don't tie yourself into a contract if you have a disability because they will hold you to it weather or not you have the mental capacity to take a contract out. The staff get shirty when you try to cancel.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place great swimming pool ,very friendly staff and the cafe is superb! We were staying at local holiday cottage and weather was to bad to go far ,so this seemed a good idea for a day out ,it turned out to be great fun and not expensive.

Positive experience: Great gym with good Covid adjustments. I like that you can turn up when, and for as long as you like with three separate areas (I'm never going to be in the muscle/weight gym but appreciate the view). Always plenty of equipment to use that connects to app so you can monitor your improvement and also watch TV etc if on a long session. Clean premises with supportive staff and parking on site.

Negative experience: Spent an entire morning/afternoon calling consistently to book in for a swim with the family. After about 10mins on hold i was getting hung up on every single time. Bare in mind i was doing this from about 8am till 12pm. Decided to try our luck and walk in to the centre anyway as thought there was something wrong with their phone line. Noticed 2people at the front of the que went in without a booking! Asked the receptionist if any availability to swim as been trying to book all morning. She laughed and said “yea well the phones still ringing now but I’m not answering as i’m the only one here doing the calls. If you want to come in on a weekend you'll have to get up and cxall at 7:30am and prebook when I’m not busy.” No kindness or sympathy whatsoever was just pure rude and was just uncomfortable. Not sure i even intend on going back if thats how staff look at/speak to people and their families. Gross really.
