Negative experience: Just put the prices up from £24.99 to £29.99 totally not worth it , promised members in new year of ice bath and sauna which you never delivered after advertising it on posters mis leading and you’ll lose lots of members now

Positive experience: Enjoyed my time training here, the equipment is great, it's a shame I moved away.

Positive experience: This gym is perfect for people looking for a quiet place to work out on the way home from work with a great range of organised equipment and weights. The general vibe was very nice with other users being friendly, Great back ground playlist and plenty of space to not be on top of each other. However I found cleanliness an issue in the gym itself but particularly in the changing room and showers. There were very large amounts of insects in the shower cubicles along with broken tiles and a pungent drainage smell. The lockers themselves were dirty and could have done with a deep clean. Obviously the gym is a work in progress so maybe once everything is complete and there is a cleaning team in place it will be an amazing gym and I would be interested in going back

Negative experience: Disappointed. I joined and made 2 monthly payments. I’m only able to use the gym between 1am and 6am cos of work. I wasn’t able to generate a code on my phone that got me in despite reloading the app. I don’t know what the issue was. I used the messaging system but didn’t get a response. When things go wrong - they need to be better.

Fantastic experience: Great gym

Positive experience: The gym is nice and has lots of equipment even when the gym is busy. It has friendly and helpful staff and the gym is kept clean. However a big let down for me is that contacting them is a big hassle as nobody responds to the emails they have available or on their Facebook page. I've been trying to cancel my membership for a while but because I don't live near the gym it is difficult to do so as there's no way to cancel on the app.

Negative experience: my 16 daughter joined last month paid the 29.99 and hasn’t been able to go as they won’t let her in as they saying she’s not a member. i’ve been trying to ring for over a week and no body’s answers the phones and i’ve also messaged on facebook given daughter details and no one’s has replied that was a week ago! absolutely joke of gym no customer services what’s so ever!

Negative experience: It's the worst gym I've ever been to. Staff are rarely present and equipment is outdated and doesn't work. There is also rubbish plastered around the gym empty bottles and even dirty hand towels. There are weights all over the floor in an untidy manner The barcode scan is hit and miss when it decides to work which is a pain when you wake up early to train before work. There is no communication between the gym and the members. gym located on Spring Bank should be avoided due to its unprofessionalism and low standard on the whole.

Fantastic experience: After spending decades using gyms in the city I’m happy to call planet gym home. Loved the old DW fitness and body factory. Planet Gym is the first gym I used in a long time that has the old school lifting feel along with a more friendly and social new gym feel. When I need the staff they’re there. The equipment’s top notch and the atmosphere’s always great. I train mostly in a morning when it’s quiet but if I do train on an evening I can always find kit to use. If you’re fed up of the big chain gyms and want a more personal experience then try Planet Gym, it’s great.

Fantastic experience: Having visited plenty of gyms throughout the UK thanks to my work Planet Gym is certainly up there as one of the top gyms, with great mix of equipment, cardio and friendly staff. Highly recommended for anyone experienced or new to take a look and join.

Fantastic experience: Been attending this gym for several years. Staff are super friendly and helpful and theres a nice atmosphere. Also theres a really extensive range of equipment, whether youre into body building or fitness, you will find everything you need. Plenty of benches, machines, dumbells etc and cardio stuff. 24/7 access makes it ideal!

Positive experience: Сама идея интересная, но тренажёры многие сломаны, грязно, на информационной никого нету. Плохо сканируется QR код на входе. Так же было чень холодно, так как зал не отапливается. Так можно и заболеть. На email никто не отвечает. Из плюсов, то что в Hulle это почти единственный зал без контракта + в пределах разумного ценовая политика. Так как конкуренты хотят за такое 50£, а тут 27£. Ну и множества тренажёров, это радует.

Negative experience: It is the worst and the most disgusting club in England and they are scammers because they deducted money from my account twice and it did not return. I called several times but no one answered and when I sent my email, they did not give the correct answer.

Negative experience: Set up a direct debit years ago when I joined this gym but money is collected by a 3rd party. I have tried calling the gym numerous times to cancel membership but the phone never gets picked up and all this time the 3rd party (Harlands) continue to place charges on the account even after I have cancelled the direct debit. I've emailed Harlands on 4 occasions but they refuse to act and continue to email me regarding collection and charges. Avoid this gym like the plague if planetgym could contact me regarding this it would be a starting point

Fantastic experience: Solid kit selection, open 24 hours and personable staff. Vending machines, rainfall showers and personal trainers too!

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS GYM After reading the bad reviews about this gym scamming people over direct debit I stupidly signed up today however I choose the monthly no contract no direct debit 30 pound a month thinking this would be safe but no I have received an email saying the gym has set up a direct debit and can take money from my account when they want also on leaving the gym there was someone complaining about the same issue!!!! I have spoke to my bank and they have heared this before of other customers and said I they are cancelling this immediately Just a set of scammers not to mention the toilets where in a disgusting state they smelt of wee and could see they haven’t been cleaned in a long time

Negative experience: The alarm is not good a tall if you drop a weight a bit too hard on the ground the alarm will go off

Fantastic experience: My first workout here after a brief prior look round - there are even more different weights machines and workout options than I had realised. There's ample mat space for stretching, and of course the cardio machines. I liked the atmosphere and the staff member at reception was really helpful when I needed to find something specific. A room upstairs has mat room and weights for lighter work and is less macho industrial than downstairs. Take a padlock with you for a locker - you can choose between big and huge - and a cup or bottle to fill at the water fountain.

Positive experience: Been training ,working etc in Gyms 37 odd years , love planet gym , equipment simple to use , good old school feel , staff friendly , unlike these chain uber trendy type gyms wheres its more a bout being fashion statement , planet gym is raw ,proper gym , never had a problem with payments or direct debit, only issues lazy ones .not putting weights back or those on their phones holding others up, but thats sign of the times , love it Papa Bear

Negative experience: The changing rooms smell of urine, the showers barely cover your body, the rooms are really dim and the equipment has see much better days (rubber grips falling to pieces, is there at all). Although the staff in at the time were very nice, friendly people

Negative experience: Yes its 4am... most days 4am is my gym time... today I left after 20+ mins... ... WHY, because again the 'music' is so very loud... just a continual boom boom...its not even back ground music just so loud its dreadful. There is no way of turning it down...I have asked about this before but nothing done... I'm no one special but others who go at the same time have moved to another Gym. Pity cause its a nice place have been here maybe 6 years. Expect I'm wasting my time. Pity..

Fantastic experience: Changed gym`s when lockdown was released. I had used my previous gym for years but was fed up of it shutting during all bank holidays plus extra days when it suited them not the gym members. Planet gym advertises open 24 hour days so thought would give it a try Great I can go day or night which ever time suits me .The gym is well run bannana man one of the staff is always great and friendly he offers advice and help when required. Any issues are sorted asap and the equipment is cleaned regulary and the area is kept clean .You can pay by various options so will suit all needs and there is plenty of parking .I would recommend if you are looking for a gym give it a try

Negative experience: Absolutely impossible to cancel membership! There isn't a phone number provided, we sent few emails which were ignored. When we canceled the direct debit received an email that we owe money! I hope that you are reading this so you will be informed that I will be contacting trading standards as this is so frustrating and your service is so unprofessional.

Negative experience: Absolutely do not get into a contract with these con artists. Impossible to cancel. E-mail? they will ignore them all. Phone calls? If you mention cancelling they will put the phone down. Do yourself a favour and do not go here.

Negative experience: I have had an issue with the direct debit. Planet Gym took over £400 in 21 separate direct debit payments that all came out over two seperate days. I Emailed and called when the first 10 happened, no response. Had to call the bank to refund it. They then emailed to tell me they were going to take one payment again... I emailed them and told them not to, no response. I called... The person who answered said the boss was handling emails and may have missed mine and to email again, I did, no response. 11 more payments are taken, I call and email again, "the boss is off, call back tomorrow" . Did I call back tomorrow? Take a guess. I do not trust this place and have cancelled... Wonder if they'll respond to that email... Or this post.

Fantastic experience: Signed up on monday after nearly 2 years of been lazy.. good price for a 24 hour Gym, everything you need here for gaining size and strength or fitness and endurance, excellent selection of free weights and machines, staff seem spot on too! Thanks

Negative experience: The gym is not bad , but the way how they treat people is pathetic . I joined gym April/2018 I was told that its rolling contract that I can cancel anytime . I stoped using gym January 2019 . I have asked to cancel my contract February never happened . I asked again in March nothing happened again . I have cancelled my direct debit in May. Was over a year since I started so I was sure that all finished but I was wrong . At the end of June they claimed that I owned them £112 for not paying on time and cancelled direct debit without notice , despite the fact that I was 2 times at the Planet gym and spoke about cancellation with the employee of that gym and I was told that it will be sort it for me . I was there again ,another person said that I have to email them so I have emailed them about it with no answer and today I have received another email that asking for £219 . This is the way how they make money ? Really disappointed with the customer service there is no way to contact them directly. I just got one email , but they ignored me anyway . So be aware of that before you sign contract cos even after 12 months they will try to take your money.

Negative experience: Do not go here bad from bad vibes and childish owner

Negative experience: Gym is a very well equipped gym so can’t fault that. However I have moved away from the gym and cancelled my membership via cancellation of DD which was advised by the woman working there who signed me up. I then had arrears on my account from Harland and apparently 2 months arrears at the planet gym even though o had paid my 2 months of membership whilst being a member. Be careful when joining as loop holes in the non spoken about terms and conditions exist. I’m let down by the fact I wasn’t told by anyone working there about a 30 day cancellation policy. I was simply told to cancel my DD. Bit of a scam.

Fantastic experience: An amazing gym. Been here for a good six months now. Although can feel somewhat small especially with the amount of machines packed within the small spaces, it has a friendly atmosphere and friendly staff too. They also have a range of different personal trainers, myself going with Callum who is friendly and positive and motivational. Really good vibes, music can be a unique experience depending on whose on shift but all in all a great place to workout and not feel judged.
