Welcome to PureGym Salford, where fitness meets convenience! Our gym offers a wide range of cardio machines, well-equipped weightlifting areas, and functional training zones to cater to every fitness level. With 24/7 access, you can work out whenever it suits your schedule.
Members have praised our clean facilities and the friendly, supportive staff. The space is well-maintained, and many users appreciate the excellent classes offered by our dedicated instructors.

Positive experience: This is my number 1 gym for 2 years I upgraded from PureGym direct and tried Eccles and it was fantastic I think Salford needs a refit as most other gyms are all working Salford has not had the water running in the toilet to wash yours hands in ages For the moneys I pay I think Salford need to sort this place out as I have seen staff and management come and go

Positive experience: Probably the messiest PureGym I’ve been to. Weights are all over the floor constantly. Lacking in lower weight dumbbells and plates. Poor layout and smaller than most.

However we know that at busier times, weights are not always returned and our team complete regular re-sets of the gym. We understand that this is sometimes frustrating for our members, and it is included within our Gym Rules that members should return weights after use. Anybody witnessed leaving equipment out of place will be spoken to by our Gym Team. Positive experience: The gym is quiet in early morning hours..its open 24 hours a day so great for a workout at any time...lots of useful kit but its common to find some kit that's supposed to rubber coated at the grip worn out to bare metal but whose to complain for the very affordable monthly price. Negative experience: Worst managed gym! If you want to do a nice training, this is definitely not the place because the staff might kick you off from the machine because they are having class on the "functional area" which is basically anywhere. They might also occupy 3 or more machines for more than 30 minutes for their classes in the business times. So if you are a person working 9-5 and looking to go after finish work, strongly recommend to go anywhere else but there!

Positive experience: One of the lady staff is too rude god knows why
Negative experience: The gym is definitely not spacious. Had to cancel my membership as it's just too full. I work shifts and I can only go at certain times. It's ridiculously small. If the gym set out better it might be a bit better but still too small. Too many influencers trying to film themselves and the staff do nothing to stop this and they do nothing to the people leaving weights everywhere.

To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website, to see how many people are in the gym. Members cannot film others in the gym without prior consent. Members are asked to put weights back correctly after use, it can be hard to enforce this during busy periods. Negative experience: I've been going to this gym for 3 years because it's close to my home but I won't suggest it . It's too busy no ventilation , machines broken for a while . I can't find free machine for doing exercises easy.

Negative experience: The gym is constantly messy, weights never put back and way too hot. Would not recommend

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: Used to be better, now many lockers seem broke, broken equipment also is taking months to fix, in the past it seems to be a 2-3 weeks. Also new members seem to pay a lower monthly but existing members have their monthly price increased.

Positive experience: Loads of the machines are always broke the roof is always leaking pins and clips are always missing and your always waiting for a machine you want for ages because people sit on them playing on there phone it got 3 stars because it's in a convenient place

Negative experience: This gym has gradually gone down hill over the last 6months. The place is always a mess with equipment all over the place with staff reluctant to maintain. Broken equipment takes months to get repaired, there are leaks from the ceiling so you get dripped on whilst using machines (this issue has been ongoing since I joined 3yrs ago, so really no excuse for it now). Toilets smell and are frequently disgusting. I understand the gym being unstaffed during quiet periods but really should have team members maintaining the gym 9am until 9pm at least. Also a lot of unused space which considering how busy this gym gets doesn’t make sense that more equipment hasn’t been added. Time to go elsewhere I think.

Negative experience: I’ve been in two different pure gym in England and for sure Salfor Pure Gym is the worse, some machines are broken at least three months, many of them are out of order for ages, the weights are always everywhere, even the toilets are always out of order! Now the floor it’s been wet a week and the smell is awful! From the moment that you cross the door you smell that terrible smell and you need to do your workout facing that. Please someone do something!

Negative experience: Unsafe and terrible area for getting bicycles/e-scooters stolen (good luck if its still there after you've finished you gym workout), gym smelled musty, broken equipment, water leaking from roof. Not good, already moved gyms.
Negative experience: Machines always busy as gym is constantly rammed no matter what time you attend. The whole gym is stupidly hot with no ventilation causing working out to be unbearable and the whole gym smelling of sweat. Also noticed weights being left all over the floor and not being put back which makes it impossible to find anything.

Positive experience: Can be very busy, but overall okay. Lots of leaks around the gym which can be off-putting getting dropped on during your workout, but overall an alright place to workout

Positive experience: Lots of equipment however messy most of the time. Weights are left out and you can find one dumbbell at the opposite end of the gym and its other pair in the wrong place on the rack. Most people tend to finish their workout and leave the kit/weights/bars they've just used, on the floor. Makes it very hard to find the stuff you want to use.

Positive experience: Classes by Antonia, Kasia and Lorena are excellent. Gym facilities itself are lacking. I accept it’s a budget option but it could be managed much better. In recent weeks there hasn’t been any tissue or spray to clean the spinning bikes with between sessions so I have had to get on bikes covered in the sweat of other people.

We developed industry-leading cleaning and hygiene protocols to help keep our members and employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, with the reduced risk and in line with the Government’s ending of legal restrictions, we have decided to remove some self-cleaning stations in our gyms, which will also support our sustainability objectives by reducing our paper towel waste. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. Fantastic experience: A well-equipped gym with a positive, no-judgememt environment. I attend classes here (Strength & Pump) and all of the instructors I've had have been amazing - clear instructions, positive affirmations and feeling great about the workout after! They know when to push you to make sure you're always improving and make the classes really fun.

Positive experience: I started at the gym a year ago and to begin with it was an enjoyable experience. After a number of months the gym became very oversubscribed started trying to attract university students which compounded the issue further. it was impossible outside working hours to do a consistent workout, machines were always occupied, weights always hoarded. Things have improved slightly recently with the exception of all the cardio equipment now stuck in the windows so larger people like myself can get stared at by people outside which increases anxiety and stress when working out

Fantastic experience: Gym glasses are great, specially Freddie ! Always gets the class going, knows everyone’s name and makes it more personal, my favourite classes are with him. Only improvement would be to get the bloody microphone / headset thing fixed it’s terrible

Negative experience: Too busy often hard to get on the equipment you want

Negative experience: Great gym but NOONE puts their weights back and there aren’t any staff to police this, or when there are they just don’t. Edit 30/03/23: thanks for the reply below. I would have to note though that I’ve been at that gym early in the morning on weekdays and afternoon on Sunday where there’s barely anyone in and the gym is still a mess with weights left on and dumbbells on the floor. Also, do you guys have a formal internal mechanism for complains like these so that people don’t result in making them online in public for everyone to see? Edit 05/04/23: not even people who work here put the weights back when they train clients. So puregym’s response below is garbage.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: !!!!NO VENTILATION!!!! It's 20 degrees outside and no air-conditioning on inside, what are they waiting for? Someone to pass out? I wanna know if this will be all the summer so I can change to a better gym

Negative experience: I've been a member for many years, often coming 4+ times a week. It is excellent value and generally well maintained. However there's been a noticeable drop in these standards in the male showers. They absolutely stench of feaces and have done for at least a month now. So much flies have accumulated (see pic). In addition there has been one shower which doesn't get hot and hasn't for at least 6 months. They generally feel like they never get cleaned. The gum in the picture has been there for months. I get things go wrong, however PureGym need to be proactive at maintenance instead of reactive (due to complaints / reviews). It's unfortunate I had to post this. EDIT: I've seen a marked improvement over the last month. It's not perfect (still stinks, shower out of order, chewing gum still there since before Xmas) but I've seen a lot more active cleaning going on!

Fantastic experience: Five stars is based on the young blonde female, her customer service was excellent. I have just moved here and I’m a qualified personal trainer but she was willing to give me an induction, she gave me a tour and was just a great friendly person. If it wasn’t for her I would of been disappointed, the gym is very messy. The weights are not in correct places, need more sanitisation stations in free weight and cardio areas. Other than that, great gym and excellent customer service

Positive experience: I’ve been going to this gym for 2 years now.. I’m very happy for almost everything.. but the last time I’ve been the music of the class was far too high.. this is not a complaint, but just a feed back as I couldn’t hear my headphones for how loud was the music..and it doesn’t happen all the time.. I just think that you should know that the volume of the class music can disturb the rest of the people in the gym..

Fantastic experience: Nice gym clean The only problem is the weights no one seems to put them back in any of their gym locations I'm gonna be leaving soon JD gyms have been recommended to me due to the staff maintaining their gyms I've tried quite a few pure gyms but there lacking in the put back the weights so your constantly looking where's this where that no point telling staff cause waste ov time u NVR see any of them telling ppl to put them back for others shame really how they operate but tbh Salford and bury is a better choice then others I have been too

Fantastic experience: Recently joined as a beginner and absolutely love it. Classes are amazingly organised and dead easy to book through the app in advance. The only downside (to me) is that the music is way too loud in the studios. Im thinking bringing some ear plugs

Positive experience: This gym is has great equipment, but I have some issues with it and I want to discuss only two major ones. First is this place is crowded I wouldn't complain that much about it being crowded as it is a budget and very big gym but being crowded for almost 3 quarters of a day might make it hard for maintaining good workout routine. Second are those huge glasses in the gym, this frustrates me as anyone and everyone walking by can see u working out and even some laugh while looking at someone working out in the gym and this hurts the confidence of the people working out. One of my friends who casually used to workout there left the place saying he feels like he's in a glass zoo entertaining people as they walk by. The gym is a place where some people get away from the world and be in their own with no one disturbing or judging them, and making half of the gym walls see through glasses can cause a big lack of confidence.

Fantastic experience: Good gym with lots of space. The dumbbell racks are not labelled appropriately so it's a bit of a shambles in the free weights area. Definitely recommend as a local gym though
