Our comment from FitFit UK about Santai Spa:
Santai Spa in Birmingham offers a blend of luxurious relaxation and rejuvenating treatments, making it a wonderful destination for those seeking a serene retreat. Guests have praised the spa for its outstanding facilities, which include an outdoor hot tub with stunning lake views, a decent-sized pool, multiple saunas, and a steam room, albeit with some operational inconsistencies reported.
Many visitors recognized the exceptionally friendly and accommodating staff, whose attentiveness and professionalism contributed positively to their experiences. Special mentions were given to therapists who provided remarkable massages, leaving guests feeling relaxed and revitalized.
However, while the spa holds many positive attributes, some concerns were raised regarding the limited changing room space and the occasional overcrowding, particularly on weekends. Furthermore, a few guests expressed disappointment with cleanliness standards, including unkept areas and the need for more sanitary practice in common spaces.
The no phone policy was appreciated by some for enhancing privacy, yet others felt it was not consistently enforced, leading to a noisy atmosphere at times. Overall, guests found great value in the packages offered, including complimentary beverages and well-presented afternoon tea.
Despite mixed reviews concerning service and facility maintenance, many left with a positive impression and expressed their intent to return, recognizing that with some potential upgrades and management adjustments, Santai Spa can truly shine as a premier relaxation spot in Birmingham.

Santai Spa: Opinions
Negative experience: Came for a spa day with afternoon tea and 2 treatments. Treatments - great! Friendly staff. Afternoon tea - sandwiches were good, presentation was good, the view is lovely, but there was a LONG hair in one of our pots of dessert, and they wouldn’t swap a tea for a cold drink for free so limited on options. Spa - changing rooms are small but the lockers are secure and they give you a swipe card. There’s only 2 toilets and 3 showers so can be waiting for some time. There’s no supply of fresh towels either. Also no hooks in the toilets so when you need to hang your towel up or clothes up when changing it’s impossible. The steam room was closed which was advertised on the website, the sauna was good but again quite small, the main pool is good but chilly and the jets don’t work (none of them would activate despite repeated pressing of the buttons). The heated beds are good and the hot tub outside is great. However the place isn’t clean, there were so many dirty cups and 3 plasters at the hot tub side, and black mould on the tiles, behind the hot tub they were storing things so just a pile of rubbish. Phones - we were repeatedly told not to use phones and had to sign saying we wouldn’t, but people were on phone calls and screaming in the spa and not asked to stop or quieten down. Not a relaxing vibe. Parking - they validate for 12 hours. Ours didn’t work but we used the phone at the exit barrier to speak to someone. Overall for £157 it’s not good value, it’s a convenient location and probably a good spa for members popping in but not for an occasion.
We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience with us, Sarah. We are always looking for ways to improve, so we really appreciate you taking the time to give us some feedback. We will share your review with all the relevant teams so they can look into it and see how we can improve in the future.
Fantastic experience: Lovely spa facilities. Had the best massage I have ever experienced with Alisha, outstanding thank you so much
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a great review. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your visit and we'll be sure to pass your kind words on to the team. We look forward to welcoming you back!
Positive experience: Odd experience really. Told no phones allowed. Loads of people with them all the Spa. Either don't allow them and enforce the rules for privacy or just allow them. Relaxation room was to cold to relax in. Jacuzzi was all good. Nice and hot. Tad crowded at times but as expected. Changing rooms are very small. More than 6 of you and it's bumping into one another. Pool was fine. Steam room didn't work. I would have liked to know that either when I booked or when we arrived? Either so choices could be made. Hair dryer was woeful. OK at best. Best in Birmingham? Nope.
We're sorry to hear that your experience with us wasn't up to the standards we strive for. We will pass your feedback on to our management team. It is noted on our website that our steam room is currently out of service. We hope you can give us another chance in the future as we'd love to welcome you back!
Fantastic experience: Brilliant spa best I think I've been to the facilities were wonderful loved the pool with the hydro jets, outdoor hot tub with stunning views over the lake! Sauna, steam room and experience showers were all great too. Free access to tea coffee hot chocolate and lattes was good. Staff were lovely and welcoming so nice! And the treatments I had were so relaxing the massage was perfect pressure not too firm not too light but just perfect! And the facial I had left me feeling so good afterwards and my skin looked and felt great. All in all such a lovely day I would recommend this spa to anyone and will definitely return in the future. Thank you for such a great day
Thanks for taking the time to leave us such a glowing review, Rosie. We're delighted to hear you had a wonderful experience at our spa and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!
Positive experience: a nice spa however ladies' changing/locker room was far too small. facilities were clean, steam room, sauna, ice dispense, pool, hot stone loungers and outdoor spa....the last always being occupied (maximum 6 people) so only got to use it briefly. drinks unlimited which was lovely. pool showers were not working so had to keep popping back to changing room to shower inbetween sauna and pool for example. reception staff were lovely and accomodated my elderly mum's needs which I specified on booking form. parking was free (for 24 hours) in the multistorey and ticket validated at the end of spa day. lunch at the restaurant was lovely too, beautifully set and nice views.
Negative experience: Disappointing Visit: Staff Issues Ruined the Spa Experience My experience at the Resorts World Genting Hotel Spa was far from relaxing. One of the staff members repeatedly approached me, insisting I put my phone away—even though I didn’t even have it out! It became really frustrating and ruined the peaceful atmosphere I was hoping for. The spa facilities were also a letdown—the pool was smaller than expected, making it feel crowded, and there weren’t many refreshments available. To top it off, when I spoke to the manager on shift about my experience, she was incredibly rude. Instead of listening to my concerns, she blamed me for having my phone out, even though I was trying to explain I didn’t. She didn’t seem interested in resolving the issue and refused to give me the names of the staff so I could write an accurate review. I expected much better service and professionalism from a place like this, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations.
We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience with us. We've spoken to the spa team who confirmed you acknowledged being on your phone (except on the last occasion they approached you). We completely understand the frustration, but we do have a no-phones policy in place in our spa etiquette which all our guests agree to upon visiting us. We're always looking for ways to improve so we appreciate your feedback and we're sorry to hear this put a dent in your experience with us.
Negative experience: I spoke to jarard if im correct very very rude I rang up to find out ablut treatment prices amd what santai offer. She just wasn't helpful from the start oh just go on our website . That's not good customer service selling point brush up on your employees customer skills
Hi Mittu, we will pass your feedback on to our management team so they can look into it and address it accordingly. We hope you can give us another chance in the future as we'd love to welcome you back!
Positive experience: Booked a spa day for me and 4 friends yesterday access only £40 each Staff were very friendly throughout. Quite a small spa but good value for money. Could do with more changing cubicles as changing room can become overcrowded. Steam room was out of order, maybe should inform customers during booking process. Relaxation room is quite cold, hard to relax think atmosphere in there could be improved and maybe have more beds instead of leather chairs. I had a fantastic express back massage from April who I would Highly recommend, I hadn't had a massage in two years, she was very informative throughout and attacked all knots in my back and now feel amazing, that massage was emotional, thankyou April. Overall we had a great day out. Thankyou staff of santai.
Fantastic experience: Amazing botox treatment with Dr Yazan. Kind, attentive, and just perfect x
Negative experience: Ruined my whole birthday trip I will never come again
Hi Shanice-Leigh, we're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience at Santai Spa. We will pass your feedback on to our management team so they can look into it and address it accordingly.
Positive experience: Busy for a small spa. Borderline overcrowded at times. When it's quiet it's lovely. A decent sized pool, a jacuzzi, two sauna rooms and a shower that offers different types of experiences
We're glad to hear you enjoyed our spa facilities. We are always looking for ways to improve and will pass your feedback on to our management team so they can look into it. We hope you can give us another chance in the future as we'd love to welcome you back!
Positive experience: Nice place .relaxing but I can't take a photos there
Negative experience: I joined Santai Gym and Spa in May 2024, seeking a serene and safe environment. Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but that due to significant incidents of harassment that left me feeling extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. Harassment Incidents During my visits, I experienced highly inappropriate and intrusive behaviour from other members. Despite my efforts to deflect and avoid these situations, the behaviour persisted, leaving me deeply unsettled. A witness who was present during one incident even approached the reception to report feeling uncomfortable witnessing the harassment. This person showed support by giving me a hug and confirming I did nothing wrong, clearly identifying the harassment. Initially, I hesitated to report the first incident because of concerns about an individual involved having an unprofessional relationship with a staff member, which was witnessed by others, so please do not deny it. However, the situation worsened when another individual began making inappropriate comments about my religion and personal beliefs while I was speaking to others. He repeatedly interrupted and became loud and rude, harassing me until I felt compelled to leave. Management's Response Despite these reports, the management's response was inadequate and disappointing. They advised me to avoid conversations and remove myself from uncomfortable situations, which felt like an avoidance of their responsibility to ensure member safety. They repeatedly mentioned that legally they cannot ban other members or investigate further, despite their claims of trying to create a safe environment. This contradiction between their 2actions and their stated commitment to safety left me feeling unsupported and vulnerable. I do not feel confident in the ability of Santai Gym and Spa to provide a safe and respectful environment for its members. While they acknowledged the incidents, their response lacked immediate support and concrete measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. If you're looking for a spa where you can feel secure and relaxed, I cannot recommend Santai Gym and Spa based on my experiences.
Hi there, we're very sorry to hear about your experience at our Santai Spa, and we can assure you we take matters like this very seriously. Due to us being situated in Resorts World, we have access to security 24/7 to ensure guest safety, and our management team looked into the issue to investigate your complaint, including checking CCTV and speaking to the relevant parties. Unfortunately, due to a lack of evidence to support a harassment claim, they were unable to take further action, which is why the team recommended that you contact the police so we could help with the investigation if needed. We want all our members to feel comfortable using our facilities, and we will continue to do our best to provide our guests with a safe environment.
Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend to book this place if you are planning a weekend in Birmingham. I had my treatment cancelled (it was supposed to be a present for my anniversary) and my day ruined with very short notice. I should have gone in for a spa treatment on Saturday 1st June at 2:30pm and they emailed me around 11am to say it was cancelled. Reason being the therapist called sick very last minute. As a SPA business you expect that a good management would at least have therapists covers in place, especially over weekends. After few emails exchanged, they asked us to go there at the desk for a refund because they needed the card. Once we got there they said they couldn't do the refund as at the reception they do not have access to the system. (Seriously?) So when I expressed my frustration because the day was ruined and I had to walk there, with also 2 children... they said I should have waited another half hour to get the refund from the manager. Long story short, the receptionist said that the therapist had to call the day off for urgent family matter, so the being sick reason was a little lie. Not to mention that this was not a therapist's fault! This was a mess between bad management and inexistent customer service. After 4 days the refund was issued and they apologised (which I sincerely accept). The bit that is unreal is their so called 'gesture of goodwill' , they are offering a 3h spa access which costs zero to them, valid 1 year. Now... couldn't that had been done on that day? I told them we were leaving Birmingham next morning. To summarise, appreciated the late reply, but there was no effort whatsoever on the day. Families planning a weekend should know.
We're very sorry to hear about your experience with us, but we're glad that our team was able to help make amends in the end. We have passed your feedback on to our management team so they can look into it and see how we can improve in the future. We hope you're able to give us another chance in the future.
Positive experience: Clean, luxurious but small spa. It has a lot of facilities on offer such as a steam room, hot stone loungers etc. changing facilities are limited and lack space and the gym is just fine for an average individual, but due to my experience working out the weights are just too lightweight for me. Couldn't use the hot tub as it was full of people which was disappointing but oh well. Staff are friendly and the no phones policy is excellent for privacy as well as the complimentary drink (tea, coffee) which is much appreciated Overall I would recommend just try to go when it's not so busy as it is a small facility.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful place for a lovely restful break/ spa with the girls
Negative experience: My husband gave me a gift for the anniversary. He booked the massage for me. He paid premium price for 1star service. To be honest, I had the worst experience ever. No robe, no slippers, towels or gown were provided. After asking them I was told they don't provide that. I would never recommend that place. I am very disappointed.
Hi Sophia, we're sorry to hear you were disappointed with your treatment experience with us. We usually don't provide robe, slippers and towel for treatments, unless it's for hotel guests as they may be walking from the treatment room to the hotel and it's more convenient. Guests using our other spa facilities also get a robe, slippers and towel. We are always looking for ways to improve and we'll be sure to pass your feedback on to our team so they can look into it.
Fantastic experience: Nice spa at a reasonable price
Positive experience: The SPA facilities was nice and worth the visit. Fire and ice definitely worth it. The swimming pool area is also used by the hotel guests so can feel very busy and sometimes struggle to get a lounger. The massages unfortunately was a big let down. The masseuse seem to just be going through the motions with little care of actually giving a decent massage. When asked at the start of we have any preference I stated I want a very deep firm massage to get deep into the muscles. About 5 minutes in I was asked how the massage was and I said it can be firmer, which she didn't for about 1 minute then reverted back to basically just brushing her hand across my body. Wasn't relaxing at all. From my past experiences with spa resorts, the massages are usually a letdown. Personally, I would recommend going to a dedicated massage place that specialises in massages only. I would return just to do the fire and Ice experience but would leave after that.
We're very sorry to hear that your experience wasn't up to the standards we strive for at Santai Spa. We will pass your feedback on to our team so they can look into it and see how we can improve in the future. We look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy our spa facilities.
Positive experience: Nice place, missing for chairs around the pool for the amount of people who use it.
Negative experience: They have a 'no mobile phones by the pool' policy. Which is ridiculous, no reading my book, listening to music or basically any entertainment but to stare at the other patrons. Wouldn't come again for that reason.
We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with our mobile phone policy Lizzie. We want to make sure our spa is a comfortable and safe space for all our guests, and the use of mobile phones invites to filming and taking photos which is why we implemented this policy. We hope you can understand and that you're able to give us another chance in the future.
Fantastic experience: Aliyah was great at my massage - definitely recommend 10/10
Fantastic experience: Lovely spa
Positive experience: It’s a nice spa. Feels quite small inside. Massage room was very cold throughout. Would be okay to return but not in a hurry.
Positive experience: Thoroughly enjoyed the Signature Santai Experience! Only downside is that it could've been better with more time.
Fantastic experience: Me and my girlfriend came here for the second time and they do not disappoint. Will definitely be coming here more often
Fantastic experience: I stayed over at the genting hotel and used the Santai spa facility. All staff were Friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Bell carried out my lava stone body massage and was absolutely exceptional. I have visited many spa facilities in different hotels who just “tap” your back however Bell was firm and I felt my knots being pushed. A genuine true massage was carried out. The room interior, setting and zen music helped me relax and nearly fell asleep asleep.Would highly recommend and a massive shout out to Bell.
Negative experience: Was my first time at the spa. Booked a 50 minute’s treatment and website was not clear that you can not use the pool area. Management was useless and unprofessional
Hi Marina, our spa treatments page on the website does state that spa access is not included and must be booked separately, but we'll be sure to pass your feedback on to our team so they can look into it and see what we can do to make the information clearer for our guests.
Fantastic experience: Lovely experience from start to finish, reception staff really welcoming, abundance of complimentary refreshments and the lava shell massage with Selina was incredible…I feel so relaxed and unwound from work….thank you, just what I needed!
Fantastic experience: Good
Positive experience: Too busy and for the price we paid the spa was not the best. The massage was very very good tho!!!
Positive experience: Visited Santai Spa for the second time (evening spa from 6-9PM). The first time we visited, there were lots of loud people with smartphones around the pool area and jacuzzi, mainly from 6-7. Afterwards, when most were gone, it was a bit more peaceful and that's why we decided to give it a second chance one year later. We were pleasantly surprised that this time we had to sign a notice that informed us that no cellphones are allowed in the facilities. This new system made a difference and no one (except for one person) was using their phone! However, again when we entered the facilities, it felt like entering a public pool. People shouting, jumping in the pool, swimming laps, incessant loud talking etc. Not a relaxing sanctuary at all (which is the whole purpose). We are not British and have visited several spas in the UK and found it to be the same everywhere. In general, Brits don't have spa etiquette at all. Apparently they think spas are a place to socialise and laugh. So if you want to relax, it's not worth the money spent, you will come out frustrated. Just go to any spa on the continent instead. We don't want to give this spa less than three stars however, because they aren't responsible for people's rude behaviour. We do feel there is still room for improvement. You can't forbid people to talk but could gently nudge them to be quiet and respect others by hanging up signs that ask this - there was no sign that said "please be quiet" anywhere. This could also be mentioned at reception when checking in. We also found that people were not using the towels provided in the sauna, so the wooden benches were drenched in sweat. This was not listed on the sauna rules and could be added. The wood in a sauna is not supposed to get wet. This is better for its maintenance. Also evidently we didn't want to put our fresh towels on someone else's sweat. The lack of hooks on the walls next to facilities such as the sauna and hammam make people throw their towels and bathrobes everywhere (looks untidy). Simply adding some hooks would really help. We noticed there are three in the jacuzzi area but six people are allowed in there, so there should be six hooks. Otherwise facilities are OK. Hammam is definitely not too hot, the temperature was ideal. Sauna was too cold (65 degrees °C). Jacuzzi is lovely and warm. Heated loungers are wonderful. Did not do a massage or accessed the gym so can't comment on those. This could be a brilliant spa if the management takes the right decisions. With some little changes it could already improve a lot. Again, the no cellphone notice that was introduced was a good measure and we can only encourage this! We won't visit again and will spend our money in Western Europe where spas are much cheaper and people behave decently. But we do wish this spa will improve and reach its true potential!
Thanks for sharing your feedback with us, Julie. We are always looking for ways to improve our guests' experience and we will be sure to send on your suggestions to our team so they can look into it. We're glad you were happy with our 'no phones' signs and we hope you change your mind and visit us again in the future.
Fantastic experience: Amazing!
Positive experience: It was very ok..the only thing I didn’t enjoy was that people were spending lots of time in the hot tub and I couldn’t get in, which is unfair
Positive experience: A nice spa experience if your looking for something cheap and relaxing. Is smaller than expected and therefore would avoid booking during busy periods. Overall good experience
Fantastic experience: Great facilities and calming atmosphere. As spa facilities are limited to 18+, it means no children running riot. A good variety of free drinks on offer for facilities users, including coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice, apple juice. The staff were welcoming and happy to answer any questions. When using the spa facilities, guests get complementary parking, so if using the car park, ensure to validate parking ticket with the reception to avoid expensive parking
Fantastic experience: Loved it! Now a member
Positive experience: Lovely spa to overcrowded for a Monday
Fantastic experience: The perfect place to chill out after a busy couple of days working at the NEC. Courtney is truly lovely and went out of her way to look after me during my visit, thank you so much!
Fantastic experience: Nice
Fantastic experience: My experience at Santai Spa was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of luxurious facilities, a wide range of treatments, attentive service, and a serene ambiance made it a perfect sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation. The spa's attention to detail, from the carefully designed treatment rooms to the outdoor hot tub, truly showcased their dedication to providing an unforgettable experience for guests. I highly recommend Santai Spa to anyone seeking a retreat from the stresses of modern-day life. Whether you're looking for a peaceful escape, a couple's getaway, or a spa day with friends, Santai Spa offers an oasis of tranquility and indulgence. Prepare to be pampered and leave feeling revitalized and renewed.
Positive experience: Lovely day at the spa Could improve on not limiting time as you are paying hefty price for the day. I feel also what could be better is the massage. It was overpriced as I got 40 minutes instead of 50. I normally pay £20 for 1 hour for excellent massages and get them once monthly. I paid £90 today for 50 minutes but got 40 minutes. I do not recommend the massage as there are better massages out there for a fraction of the price and are absolutely divine. Massage pressure should be regularly checked with client and ask if they are comfortable with it The room for massage was cozy. The masseuse was friendly and made the client feel at ease. Fantastic Spa day we got robes towels and flip flops and there is complimentary drinks and fruits available I really liked the idea of the relaxation room it was cozy. Jacuzzi and sauna temperature could do with it being slightly warmer Your parking is validated You also get nhs discount The spa area was regularly cleaned, changing rooms were clean
Fantastic experience: Beautiful experience love the mini canopy cakes you get.nice relaxing time. A fantastic date idea or a nice day out to destress definately will be back again
Fantastic experience: Took best friend for 40th with a group of 9 in February for the first time. Met all our expectations and everyone loved their experience. Some had massages added to their spa day and highly recommend the therapists. Went back in April for daughter’s 21st birthday. Smaller group. Received same welcoming greetings, promptly checked in and given our robes etc. Loved it so much I’ve been back again. Out of five stars; Reception and waiting areas =5 calm, relaxing, polite and attentive staff Changing room ( women)= 4 shower cubicles are a bit too see through (glass) Spa area = 5 mixed genders, easy access to all spa areas, tended not to be too busy so easy to move around and use different facilities, customers usually stick to the rules but some DO take their phone into restricted areas! Cleanliness = 5 staff on hand cleaning and maintaining all areas regularly, towels, robes etc are clean and you can ask/ change them if you need to. Spa areas are clean and easy to use. Women’s changing room is well kept with good sized lockers. Parking = 5 it’s free! Access from car park to spa will take a few minutes to walk through the shopping mall but lifts and escalators are available throughout. Overall experience = 5 The Spa is a relaxing, calming place to definitely unwind, spend time with friends or a loved one. Beneficial for someone with some health or mobility issues. A good place to take some time out from every day life. Appreciated the service given including the friendliness of the staff. I recommend searching for their e- vouchers to save money.
Hi Crystal, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. We're so pleased to hear that you had a great experience with us on several occasions and we'll be sure to pass your kind words on to our team who will be thrilled to know how much their work is appreciated. We look forward to welcoming you again soon!
Negative experience: Pay for parking which is understandable kind of…. But the limitations on the spa timing for hotel guests is a joke and they are very very strict with this !! They welcome paying extra for the spa even if you were not told about timing as it’s YOUR duty to ask and find out. ITS A BUSINESS I was told by the manager! Ridiculous ! Apparently other hotels in the vicinity have much better customer service.
Fantastic experience: Always come back to this spa. Although sometimes it can get really busy as it is a small place. But I still love it.
Negative experience: Unfortunately it's impossible to use the hogged jacuzzi nor the sauna people sit in these spaces for ages as there's no one to oversee. Cups were littered in every space possible.
Positive experience: Nice place to spend a few hours
Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend it. Staff is nice and warm, facilities are clean and spacious. Definitely worth it for some relaxing time.
Fantastic experience: Birthday gift from my best friend and it was perfect. One of the best spas in and close to Birmingham. Absolutely recommend. The lake view and the jacuzzi was my favourite. Soothing vibes and not too busy!
Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Santai Spa. Upon entry, it was obvious that the place was clean and the lighting/music gave it the perfect ambience for a peaceful, relaxing visit. Everyone from reception staff to the masseuse was perfect. Everyone was polite, courteous and welcoming. Saleena carried out my lava shell body massage and this was followed by the inner beauty facial. I found her to be attentive, professional and made me feel extremely relaxed throughout. I would not hesitate to visit again. Thank you for the 5 star experience, it was much needed ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Positive experience: I went for 3 hours on a weekday 3 to 6pm it was quiet, there wasn't much to do and the jacuzzi was hogged a bit as people didn't stick to the 15 min rule. Drinks good the view from the jacuzzi is a bit industrial concrete and rather depressing. Changing rooms were nice. Was relaxing
Fantastic experience: Amazing place with amazing facilities. Some spas charge extra for everything (towel, robe, flip flops, drinks etc) but these are all included with the 4hr Spa Access package! Highly recommend this spa especially with its exceptionally friendly staff!
Fantastic experience: Very clean and tranquil environment. It's great that they provide unlimited hot drinks and a small selection of juices for free if you've booked a treatment. I had a 25 minute back, neck and shoulder massage but I can't remember the name of the lovely lady who did the massage, but she was fantastic and kind. It was brilliant and I am not in pain anymore and I have a better range of movement. I am really grateful and the staff were nice and welcoming. I will be returning in future and I will book more treatments here. I used to come here a lot when a family member used to work at the spa.
Fantastic experience: Lovely friendly place recomend to any one .polite staff loved it thank you guys x
Fantastic experience: Came here 3 weeks ago for the first time and already booked another one in a week.excellent facilities and very decent prices for 3 hours slot.includes gym, sauna, hot tub, swimming pool as well as steam room. The hot tub is my favourite with a beautiful view of outside.
Negative experience: Treated the gf to am evening at the spa. £128 for 3 hours. I thought giving the price it would only be for ppl paying that but I didn't realise all the gym members and hotel members could use it for free. I couldve got a room for the night and had a free spa. Spa was ridiculously busy. No spare beds to relax on. Hottub full of little girls taking selfie for 3 hours. Free drinks were lame. Groups of lads in there. Makes in uncomfortable for ladies wanting to relax. Wont be returning.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience with us and although our team does their best to ensure that access to our spa facilities is restrained, we do tend to get busier during peak times. We'll be sure to pass your feedback on to our management team so that they can look into it and see how we can improve in the future.
Fantastic experience: You need to try it. It was amazing. Staff were really lovely. A really lovely spa and afternoon tea
Fantastic experience: Lovely relaxing experience! My first time using a spa and I feel it was good value for money, £39 for 3 hours to use all the facilities and unlimited juice, tea and coffee. Would definitely recommend and I will come again
Negative experience: Avoid this Spa at all costs. We endured the worst experience ever in our lives at the hands of Spa Supervisor Ellie Denton. She was highly discriminatory against pregnant woman, extremely rude, showed no basic customer service and got a kick out of ruining our special occasion. The Spa was also very dirty and has basic facilities only.
Fantastic experience: Great experience
Fantastic experience: Good treatment during a break at a conference at The Vox. Great way to recharge with a 25 min neck, back and shoulder massage.
Negative experience: Booked a spa for 2 on arrival was asked if we were Muslims and she said something in a different language i found that very offensive why would that matter what religion we are. while waiting for the showers as they was only one working the staff came in front off very one saying you need to leave now its bin over 3hrs how embarrassing. maybe you should get your showers fixed definitely put us off from going there again never again
We're very sorry to hear about your experience when you last visited us. We've passed your feedback on to our management team and they would like to get in touch with you. If you'd like to discuss this further please send us your contact details via any of Genting Hotel's social media channels. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Great spa
Fantastic experience: Me and my partner had 1hour and half treatments, It was heaven and we was so relaxed. Vicky on front of spa desk change my treatment as I booked a pregnancy treatment lol. Vicki was so kind and her staff give the best relaxing treatment. Defo be back 100%. thank you santai spa team for making our relaxing spa hoilday.
Fantastic experience: Had a lovely Swedish massage as a birthday treat. Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Lovely
Fantastic experience: Santai Spa does Birmingham proud, an exclusive welcoming friendly service, high quality facilities, a spa with a wide variety of ways to relax and unwind in a great atmosphere. Thanks Elise and colleagues.
Positive experience: Place was nice, however treatments weren’t the greatest. Therapists complaining while massages are happening about time and management and how under paid they are, I think the staff turn over is vast here. Paid for the scalp back and facial honestly underwhelming to say the least.
Negative experience: Awful customer service - borderline racist. Will not be visiting this spa. Far better options out there. Avoid.
Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful, relaxing experience at santai spa once again. Our massages were incredible and all staff were so helpful and attentive. A special shout out to Isabel and Sian who were absolutely fantastic. Can’t wait to come back again already!
Fantastic experience: Gorgeous spa, went on the twilight experience was good value for money and felt soooo relaxed had the place almost to ourselves highly recommend!
Fantastic experience: Lovely spa. Clean and pleasant
Fantastic experience: Very relaxing and exceptionally clean
Negative experience: My daughter booked for spa day for her sisters birthday but unfortunately they tested positive for covid - phoned to try and rearrange for another day and was told the company policy is cancellations are to be made 7 days in advance - how do u know you’re going to be ill 7 days in advance !!!! Offered a name change but unable to find anyone who wanted to go today - so she’s just lost her money . I would have thought such a big company could have made some sort of allowance - absolutely disgusted - but there you go Santai spas there’s £105 for nothing - would not recommend unless you can guarantee you are not going to be ill 7 days in advance
We’re sorry to hear that your daughter wasn’t feeling well and we understand your frustration at not being able to visit us as planned. As per our booking terms and conditions, the only alternative our team was able to offer you at the time was a name change, allowing someone else to use the spa day instead. We are always reviewing our guest experience and we have passed this feedback on to our management team so that they can look into it.
Negative experience: Don’t fall for the Scam Had the worst experience!! Booking the tickets was a nightmare and too complicated for no reason. The staff (Lisa), 2 other female receptionists and both managers called security on me for requesting a refund because they said I was 15min late hence couldn’t get my pre booked massage. And the worst thing was that for a place that doesn’t give refunds under any circumstances I the spa pool and jacuzzi area was unkept. The balcony glass panels were shattered and held together by tape which is obviously a serious hazard. In the women changing room there is faulty exposed cables and plugs. The walls in there were partly painted as well. If I could give 0 stars I would.
We’re sorry to hear that you were not able to have your treatment with us as planned. We’ve looked into this and unfortunately, as you were late to your appointment, they could not proceed with the treatment in the time remaining as they were booked up for all other timeslots. Our team did try to explain that, as per our terms and conditions, we do not offer refunds due to late arrivals or last minute cancellations. Although we understand your frustrations, we hope you can understand this is to help ensure all our guests can be accommodated on time and there was nothing more that our team could do to help resolve the issue.
Fantastic experience:
Fantastic experience: Lovely place. Booked 3 hours. After 3 hours was up I booked my spa treatment, which was so gd. Then booked afternoon tea. Was quiet and staff was very friendly. Not too many people. It was a lovely experience. Will go again
Fantastic experience: Booked the spa and afternoon tea package for my 10 of us for my daughters hen do on Saturday 25th June. We were well looked after.we were able to help ourselves to drinks in the spa aswell as have use of the pool etc. Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: Staff were amazing They went the extra mile. Thankyou to Lisa and the management for making this a memorable experience.
Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the outdoors jacuzzi overlooking the lake was so unique. Definitely the best Spa we have visited so far for a luxurious relaxation day.
Fantastic experience: We visited the Spa for the first time and everything was fantastic. From the moment we arrived we knew this would be a one of a kind experience. Sam was so friendly and explained everything thoroughly. The facilities were immaculate, the view was spectacular and the staff was amazing. We will definitely visit again!
Fantastic experience: A fantastic time. Booked for hen do. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Couldn't have felt more welcome. Facilities were fab and clean. Would definitely return in future.
Fantastic experience: Good
Fantastic experience: Whether speaking over the phone to reception or being in person, the welcome is so warm here, it sets the tone for a very relaxing experience. Facilities are very clean, and it is a well equipped spa. Relaxation room is also a lovely hidden gem. I can't recommend this place enough...even though Id rather not, because it really does feel quite exclusive at the moment without breaking the bank!
Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous 3 hours, we came out feeling so relaxed.
Positive experience: Lovely spa, very very busy but it was a Sunday, we stayed in the hotel so got free access. Only thing I didn’t know is you don’t get robes if you’re staying in the hotel and must rent them which did annoy me as I was already in my swimming costume and got told to go downstairs to the hotel if I want a robe
Fantastic experience: Loved this spa! We had a package with afternoon tea. One of the higher end spas I've been too and by far the most relaxing. We visited on a friday and it was pretty quiet, nice pool scene with steam, sauna, outdoor jacuzzi and warm stone beds. Very good back neck and shoulder massage. Really lovely afternoon tea with loads of cake!
Fantastic experience: Just booked a spa treatment for the second time here. I couldnt book it online so I called up and the lady was very professional and polite. Good place to go, roof top jacuzzi is the best thing in this spa. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Me & my daughter attend Santai Spa as a mother's Treat it was fabulous and extremely clean
Positive experience: Arrived by train, nearest station Birmingham international (walking distance). Hotel itself has a weird layout as it is within a shopping centre. Lots of restaurant, shopping and entertainment options. Great spa experience. The outdoor hot tub made the spa extra special. Complementary hot drinks. Large pool with water features. Robes only available with superior room bookings. Excellent breakfast buffet with made to order vegan sausage and egg dishes.
Negative experience: This was not the best place to relax in. I was told I could not use my phone as it was a phone free spa, though when I went in everyone else was using their devices quite freely. One guy even in the pool on his phone. The area was so loud and I found it quite hard to hear myself think. The guests were not only loud but the jets in the pool were so loud and just about drowned out the very loud and overbearing spa music. The area around the pool is so small, there are not enough chairs and the whole floor is wet. My dry floation was so underwhelming, it was freezing and it was literally a 20 minute nap on a waterbed. I could hear the entire reception and all the guests going in and out the pool. The changing area is disgusting and so small, the showers are right by the door leading out to the pool, so anyone leaving or reentering can see right into your cubicle. The water runs for ten seconds then shuts off, so I could not wash my hair. I went to dry my costume and someone had dumped dirty make up wipes in the dryer. There was no toilet paper, the coffee was disgusting also. I would not go here again, the only positives were the actual facilities, when they werent too busy. When I went to use the outdoor hot tub someone was in there taking pictures with a disposable camera. The steam room was lovely and so was the sauna but again not enough to redeem my overall experience.

Fantastic experience: This is a beautiful spa, magical place to visit!
Negative experience: Disappointed. Spa are places made to be a quite nice lovely and relaxing experience, where people can just escape from their daily routine and stress, but this Spa was the worst I've ever gone. There we go: - The pool area is full of drinks, towels, bathrobes, etc from other customers, so the environment generally looks messy and untidy. - The steam room was too hot (not sure if they had any problem that day?) while the temperature in the sauna room was incredible low (entering in there makes no difference). - No one from the staff was ever seen around this area, the result was that most of the customers were free to laugh, talk, making noise, not caring of anyone around them, taking pics and videos, and so forth. - The pool outside looked dirty, the balcony around was kind of old broken glass. - We went for a "Deep tissue massage" and trust me, it hasn't been either relaxing or a "deep" massage. The therapist had a runny nose throughout the session and this made me feel very uncomfortable. - We switched for a "Dry floatation bed" which I didn't like at all, mainly because the room is very close to the reception (I heard every single word and step from any customer coming in and out of the Spa), plus the staff themselves who were aware of my presence in the room was very loud. - Ended up with an afternoon tea certainly below any standard expectations. - We asked for a receipt along with the details of the payment and the staff was not able (or willing, who know?) to accommodate our request. Never and ever again.

Fantastic experience: This is my 2nd visit here and I can honestly say this is the best Spa I have been to by miles and I have been to a fair few over the years. It's clean, lovely atmospheren& the staff are friendly & helpful. I cannot fault this place. Only criticism I have is that I wish the Spa access could run until 3 or even 5pm instead of 1pm.
Fantastic experience: I enjoyed a dry floatation treatment here (which was on offer at £15 during my stay at the hotel) and also used the general spa facilities. The place was exceptionally clean, they offered unlimited free lemon water, tea or coffee and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. When you get a "proper" spa treatment for want of a better word I believe you get a robe and flip flops as I was just using the general facilities I didn't get these but I did get a lovely fluffy big towel. The changing rooms also had everything you need in regards to shampoo, body wash etc and hair dryers. I can't wait to go back and get a facial or a massage!
Positive experience: Booked into Santai Spa for my partners birthday this week. It was great value for money and overall we had a lovely experience.
Fantastic experience: Came on a spa day which included spa access 3 hours and afternoon tea for £50. The spa itself is new and well equipped. Although it’s small, they’ve made full use of the space. There are plenty of facilities and the outdoor hot tub is a great feature. The relaxation room could be a few degrees warmer that’s the only feedback I have. Afternoon tea in the restaurant was fab. Delicious food and nice views. I can’t believe how local this spa is; I’ll be visiting again!
Fantastic experience: Nice
Fantastic experience: Love it but advice you double double check you're booking of treatments as we had a mix up. After we had doubled checked our booking was not put in book.
