Positive experience: So far, Good experience. You can find anything you require for a good gym session. The only problem might be parking, but that's only during peak hours. Membership is not too expensive, with multiple options to pick from.

Positive experience: Great range of cardio equipment, each piece of equipment is easy to use, only negative sometimes it can be too hot. I'm not at that level of confidence to use the downstairs gym !! looks a bit intimidating, and don't see many PT's when I go to the gym.

Positive experience: Gym.is great. Some.members (not many) don't wipe down gear and don't put free weights away when finished. They think it's their gym. Early Sunday can be a bombsite

Positive experience: Yeah nice gym, and the whole experience, but I would complain about the Yanga water machine too - to fill your bottle it's a excitement as you have ticket from the lottery - you never know when you will get tasteless water or some flavours in it. :) Not sure how it's maintained but once you have it, next time you don't

Positive experience: I usually attend late night/early hours of the morning. The gym is usually fairly quiet, and it's easy to get on the equipment with no waiting. The flavoured water machine (which I pay extra for) is rarely topped up and leaves you with a bottle full of what I can only describe as slimey water that is vile. One you receive that, I have to wait another 20 mins before I can try a different flavour in the hope that one hasn't run out either. The same can be said for the sanitising station, that rarely has any sanitizer available to wipe down the equipment after use. I havent met any of the gym staff, except Jo the cleaner who used to work nights, she was always working, but always found time for a smile and "hello". The gym is always clean.

Positive experience: Needs to do better. Sometimes, there is no hand-wash, no toilet rolls, and no spray to use for equipment wipe down.

Negative experience: Yanga Water machines are not being maintained. I have raised this multiple times. It gives out flavourless water and then you have to wait 20 minutes to select a new flavour, only to be given just plain water again. What's the point of advertising this benefit if it just gives you plain water every 20 minutes? It's been like this for months...

Fantastic experience: Amazing helpful PT instructors , shower and changing rooms need to cleaned more often , also the hydration machines regularly need refilling, more than once I look foward to a nice hydration drink to finish my session nice to find it’s plain water . Can someone have the responsibility of maintaining the machine ?

Positive experience: For the price it is a good gym, open 24/7 and modern. Two reoccurring complaints... Consistently broken/empty sanitising sprays and empty bathroom hand-wash. More importantly, as I have seen other people mention, it is too hot! There is barely any air circulation and temp is set too high. I usually go late at night, so i'm not sure if this is a cost-cutting measure but if there was one thing that would make me leave, it would be the air-con that they have but don't use. Not looking forward to summer!

Positive experience: The gym is always clean and has a lot of classes on offer. There’s always equipment free to use even at busiest times and easy to grab a staff member if needed during the day. I really enjoy the weekday classes but they lack lots of choice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday which is a shame. Parking on site which usually has space.

Fantastic experience: I am amazed about how much you get on the app. I thought it was just log in but there is soo much on there. Recipes, workouts you can do while there, its like having your own digital personal trainer at the gym. There's also meditation classes on there. It's Brilliant.

Positive experience: It is a lovely gym and I always feel safe but it’s so busy and you can never get on anything, even with a off peak membership I struggle to stick to a routine as cannot get on things most of the time. It is also ridiculous hot in there, it makes me dizzy and feel sick and I cannot push myself because I honestly feel like I’m going to pass out. I have emailed and messaged on Facebook several times to ask about the aircon but no one ever replies. Really disappointing but moving gyms because of this. Not healthy to work out in a hot gym.

Negative experience: Its been more than one month now that there is no water inside the changing room and the gym has leaks from the rrof in the middle of the free weights section. Disappointed.

Positive experience: Amazing gym staff are kind range of equipment and machines. I think they should add another set of weights on second floor as they are always taken. Showers and toilets disgusting they smell like fish and and there's are hairs every where urine on the floor. So I think they should clean them ever 4-6hrs then it would 5 stars

Fantastic experience: After my old gym closed (simply gym), I was looking for a new one,where I could continue my training. I could not however find any gym that would give me the sense of community and fellowship that I experienced at my old gym- until I visited PureGym in Southend. Spacious, the staff is ever so friendly and helpful, plenty of equipment and there is great energy. Ppl are greeting each other, smiling, helping... Discovering the PureGym in Southend got me back on track and enjoy the training . Love it!!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for 20 months and Pure gym Southend and the staff are fantastic with great classes at present and a friendly atmosphere.From 22 Jan Sunday spin classes have been cancelled without any consultation with your loyal customers.This is very disappointing that you have made this decision,Pure Gym management need to remember great companies put their customers at the ❤️ off all the decisions.Please re consider

Positive experience: rejoined recently after a enforced 2 year break through Covid. Good to be back, majority of the people using the gym using the sanitzing equipment but a number of the spray bottles have been empty for the past 3 weeks now and haven't been refilled!! No quite in line with the train safely pledge! Also some of the equipment needs repairing , one of the rowing machines has been out of action for the 3 weeks I ve been a member!!

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Fantastic experience: Friendly with great pro-active managers. Clean and well maintained. All shapes and sizes of people so very welcoming for all. Male changing room lacks space and a little wiffy - but so much better than JD gym which I left because the whole place was mucky and less well run. Good range of equipment, would like a punch bag but can't have everything, all in all, fine gym.

Fantastic experience: I was invited to the gym for a free session by my wife who is a member. She had said how good it was, and how safe she felt when using it, so today I accompanied her. Well, what a superb experience! The equipment was superb and clean with no queueing, the environment was exactly as you would want it to be, and I cannot imagine what more I could have wanted from a Gym. I didn’t use most of the equipment, I normally do running on the roads, but whilst there were lots of people doing their own workouts, it never felt crowded. Can’t believe Gyms have come this far, such a breath of fresh air, no pun intended!

Fantastic experience: No complaints, only joined last week and had a couple of workouts. The app is great, staff I've interacted with are lovely. All the equipment you'll need for whatever you like. Gets busy at the usual times but it's a big, popular gym. Very happy so far.

Fantastic experience: Clean, spacious and love the app, for exercises and routines. Friendly helpful General Manager and Team. Can get very busy and a bit noisy at peak times. My partner likes it too, she cancelled her membership at nearby JD Gyms to join PureGym. Excellent value for money. Bit miffed I got kicked out the functional area this afternoon, as there was going to be a class, but no real issues. A great business model. Thank you Sean & Team.

Staff should undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you approach the Gym Manager with more info they can look into this. Following the Government’s decision to lift many of the Covid-19 restrictions PureGym has relaxed parts of its TrainSafe protocols in England including guidance to wear masks and legally imposed capacity restraints. We always have and will continue to follow Govt and UK Active guidelines. We are retaining key elements of our TrainSafe protocols including an enhanced cleaning regime, contactless entry, guidance on respecting personal space and our equipment will retain good distancing. Positive experience: Clean, spacious and lots of parking. Good crowd on a Friday night as well. Good place to work out as a beginner or intermediate.

Negative experience: Says normal 24 hours today yet first double doors locked by key really ruined my morning

Fantastic experience: First visit today and I have to day I'm impressed! Brilliantly equipped gym, lots of machines I'd not seen before and plenty of them so no waiting to use the one you want. Also did their pump class which was only half hour long but very intense. Loads of classes to chose from. The app gives you a code to scan so you don't have to remember your password to get in and out. Happy days. Highly recommended

Negative experience: Good value.. however the gym is way too small and overcrowded.

Negative experience: night time, no access to changing room, disabled shower needs descaling, music is turned off in evenings. messy dumbells never put back in correct spot.

It is part of the Gym Rules and sign posted in the changing rooms that the main changing rooms are closed overnight for essential cleaning, but the accessible facilities will always be available at these times. It is in the Gym Rules that members should return their own weights or risk suspension, but at peak times or outside of staffed hours especially it can be hard to police this. Staff on site do everything they can whilst we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights area and are always looking for new ways to combat this. Thanks for your review. Our gyms are very popular and can become busy, especially at peak times! The busyness does fluctuate throughout the day, and from day-to-day. There is a section on the website and the app which shows how many people are in at that time which is a great way to help plan your session. Positive experience: Decent gym, nice amount of machines, parking available, secure entry via pass codes, staff available. Minor critism could increase some cardio machines and not sure if sure climbing bars but was my first visit so maybe I missed some areas. All in all good experience

Negative experience: Poor and below customer review system communicating through email database yet failed to publish reviews, PureGym should able to update the customers review straight away .Brilliant cleaning system but surprised to see nobody was wearing face masks , not sure people choice etc but cleaning units were brilliant idea , and lack of weight equipments in busy time was kind a annoying but enjoyed my workout .

Positive experience: Nice gym I booked some classes online only to get email saying I missed 3 classes and can not book again for 8 days I cancelled 1 in plenty of time the other 2 were cancelled for me due to a staff member unable to do the class but gym very clean covid friendly

Fantastic experience: Joined and started using this gym just before the November lockdown. Everything was spotless, plenty of cleaning equipment around and plenty of benches / work-out equipment to use. They were also very fair in freezing payments until after lockdown. I've actually had to cancel as I won't be able to return to the gym until January. Cancelling was hassle free, so I'll be back in the New Year!

Positive experience: Good selection of free weights, kettlebells etc, usual resistance machines, plenty of treadmills, bikes etc, friendly staff, loads of parking, cheap as chips, clean with plenty of space for a socially distanced workout. Only down side is the awful selection of music played on a loop which is just loud enough to render bringing your ear buds a waste of time.

On the music though, we have this provided by a third party but if you have concerns about particular songs you can contact Member Services through the Help and Contact page on the website, so they can pass the feedback on to the appropriate team. Staff will also undertake regular volume checks for the safety and comfort of our members, but if you have concerns on the volume you can speak with the Gym Manger so they can look into this further with you. Positive experience: There is a generally good range of equipment, however there are not enough cross trainers and the ones that are there are too close together. Would be good to put hooks on the back of the toilet doors as it's not nice having to put bag on the floor in the cubicle.

Fantastic experience: Clean, compliant with Covid-19 safety regulations by limiting the amount of people in at any one time (by pre-booking via the easy to use App) and by providing continuous cleaning of all equipment and facilities the whole time the gym is open. Plus cleaning stations with bin and the necessary cleaning spray and disposable wipes/kitchen type roll with clear instructions for all gym users to follow before and after they use any of the gym equipment. This is there to help to keep themselves and others safe from Covid 19 and other type issues. Air conditioning throughout as well as as several water dispensing machines giving you as much free water as you need. Very clean toilets, showers and changing rooms. Classes available soon after temporarily being on hold due to the pandemic. 10/10

Positive experience: Good gym, very clean and not busy - thankfully I don't need to go at peak. Does lack things a few things like kettle bells, skipping ropes, foam barbell guards, lifting belt etc that other budget gyms provide. An addition of the above, a sauna and more mat/mirror space that isn't in the class room would really elevate this gym compared to other gyms in the area

Positive experience: It's okay as far as gyms go. It's got all that you need there and it's not to packed either. You can use an App which shows you how many people are there. Two times we went one week and the gym was closed, we were not refunded our money for this week. We have since left the gym.

Fantastic experience: Lots of machines and facilities so it never truly feels like you can't get into a section for it being too full. Free outside parking is great. Everything feels modern and clean and the changing rooms are nicely maintained.
