St Johns Sports Centre

Positive experience: Staff lovely, classes excellent should have made more use of the classes. However, I joined to use the gym but got fed up of waiting for equipment whilst the school children sat on their phones, between sets instead of being considerate to other gym users. I will not be renewing my membership.

Positive experience: Ideal location but not enough car space

Positive experience: This is a fantastic GYM/sports complex with a clean and friendly atmosphere, the staff are mostly helpful, cheerful and greeting. Unfortunately the weights/GYM side is some what ruined with young children (respectful for the most part) hogging equipment in groups, sat on equipment using their phone and not allowing other patrons to use the equipment. If more was perhaps done to deal with this issue the GYM would get 5 stars

Negative experience: Equipment doesn't appear to be cleaned..... ever. Equipment is outdated. Water fountains are broken. Place needs a refurb asap

Positive experience: This gym is well equipped and has excellent sports facilities available to hire for those who have a membership. It is a relatively quiet gym, which means that machines are not accessible and there is less pressure from others, if you prefer a less competitive gym environment.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy the classes at the St John’s Sports Centre especially Megs “Body pump” on Monday and Nicks LBT class on Thursday. The Reception Staff are brilliant as well. Well done Freedom Leisure.

Negative experience: Cheap and cheerful but equipment outdated. Staff are extremely miserable and unhelpful.

Fantastic experience: Really good atmosphere and helpful staff. I have booked a badminton court several times, you can borrow the rackets and if you are a member it works out at less than £6, not bad for an hour with 4 people playing. It gets really busy and you have to book in advance.

Negative experience: Quite expensive and half the gym equipment is out of order. Have spoken to one of the duty managers who blamed the terrible maintenance company. Not good!!

Negative experience: The one star is just for the gym. The low row has been out of action for about 5 weeks the leg curl about 4 weeks and today I see the chest press is broken god knows how long that will take to repair. The low row still hasn't been repaired 7 weeks out of action leg curl 6 weeks and chest press 4 weeks.

Positive experience: Too many kids use this facility who do not put weights back. Barbells with plates on left on floor. Benches with liquid (sports drinks?) on and general disregard for equipment. It's often treated like a youth club! #instageneration ‍♂️ The area used for floor exercises with mats could definitely be utilised better. Once you get a spot people are walking over you to get to badly placed bins and spray etc. Punch bag shouldn't be there either. It's an essential part of a gym. Please fix

Positive experience: Staff hear where some what helpful but hats if to all of the members there who helped me out with everything including all of the difference workouts I can do and what I can do to Improve my form

Fantastic experience: I go there every other day. It's lovely. Staff is very nice. You've got everything you need, bathrooms are clean and tidy. Equipment is clean and works properly. Haven't tried the classes yet.

Negative experience: Awful customer service. I called yesterday as they have been sending me many messages with offers and I finally decided subscribe to the gym and the lady that answered the phone (Jacqueline) was not nice to me and hung up the phone on me 3 times. Disgraceful. I called again to ask for her name and another one answered me refusing to give me their names. She even asked me "Why you want to know my name?"... IDK.... Because I want to know who I am speaking to Maybe??? Sally the 2nd. lady finally identify herself. Seriously what a terrible customer care service. I didn't get the offer obviously.

Fantastic experience: Friendly sports centre. Clean and convenient with some fantastic classes. Edwin Rodriguez's Salsa Fit is amazing fun, Core express is excellent and Pilates with Alicia is fantastic.

Fantastic experience: Good facilities, usually just play badminton in the main hall (over 50s Friday 4-6pm,). Membership a tad complicated but that is Freedom Leisure's fault! Limited area for post activity coffee but it is a sports centre . The staff are excellent in preparing the courts and really welcoming and efficient at reception.

Fantastic experience: Easy access gym, parking available, staff very supportive and help when needed. Plenty of gym equipment available

Positive experience: St Johns sports centre may not be the most up to date or swanky sports club in Worcester but it has everything you need to keep fit and stay healthy. Customer service is brilliant and membership fees low. No complicated contracts. Very flexible and added bonus of being able to use other sports centres and swimming in the Freedom Leisure group as part of your membership. Personal trainers if you want them. Easy booking online for classes. Wide range of opening times accessible for all and no monopoly of any gender or age group. Good parking and also outside facilities to book along with a major sports hall. Clean and well organised. I'm a mature user and never feel unwelcome or looked down on. My 14 year old grandson has recently joined. £180 for the year to access everything. He loves it. What's not to like give it a go. You'll be glad you did.

Fantastic experience: Small simple little sports center with a great student discount and plenty of facilities.

Positive experience: The staff are super helpful and there is always someone around if needed. They have cleaning products readily available for all equipment to be wiped down before and after use, and masks are required when in the communal areas. The equipment is what you'd expect in any commercial gym, they have all the standard weight machines, loads of cardio equipment and plenty of free weights. Also facilities available such as a gym hall for basketball, football and badminton among others and an outdoor 4g pitch that can be hired.

Fantastic experience: Staff are very friendly and helpful. Place was always clean pre-covid shutdown so I had no worries returning. Even better now as classes are smaller. There is a silver lining to the covid'19 cloud.

Negative experience: Usually a good gym. Since re opening you are only allowed a one hour slot which makes me feel very rushed, causing parts of my workout to be missed out due to other people being on the machines. Also the air conditioning downstairs is either broken or not being used (can’t seem to get an answer out of the staff). Some of the other cardio machines have been moved into the hall, which gets very hot without air conditioning. Booking ahead is another struggle having to sign in every time and select a time starting once every hour and a half which is hard to plan ahead. Overall usually a very good gym, but at the moment has me contemplating switching to another.

Positive experience: Staff are amazing, location is amazing, but it's so small. There's hardly any space to do exercises without machines, there are hardly any variations with the weight machines and is basically a cardio gym.

Fantastic experience: Cool place. Came here for a few athletics events and there is a lot of space including a sport hall, gym, restaurant and more. May be few issues with tech but staff are also caring. All equipment is provided making it a good place to relax.

Negative experience: Over priced compared to others Many lockers don't work. Showers not working. Miserable staff (not all mind). The only thing going for it is location. Saturated with school children late afternoon. Better off elsewhere.

Positive experience: Decent gym, nice indoor rooms, lots of fitness classes and 2 very good and well priced 5 a side porches

Positive experience: Helpful staff and clean facilities. Very reasonable price for combined membership. Sometimes the gym is used for classes so is OOB which can be a little annoying but there is another cardio gym so not the end of the world.
