Positive experience: Very sad to be writing this review. I have been attending the leisure centre to use gym,fitness classes and health suite. The classes have mostly been amazing, some good, and a few poor. The fairly recent introduction of Les Mills classes are taken by well trained instructors. When these were introduced our fee increased by 4% too and specifically mentioned one of reasons for increasing was the introduction of these classes. In the last 2 weeks we have been told that these classes are no longer available. Unfortunately, some of the other classes can be a bit boring and not well thought out. The instructors require more training for sure. Feedback from a number of members have been given over the last year but unfortunately a lot of it has been brushed under the carpet. The clenliness is also not the best and showers in changing rooms are very poor. The gym is very well equipped however. Such a shame as this leisure centre and its classes have such great potential.

Fantastic experience: Lovely pools and viewing area. The café was well stocked and very efficiently run by very pleasant staff, despite being extremely busy due to a big swim meet being held there.

Negative experience: I was disgusted to find human feces on the changing room floor. When staff were informed I didn’t feel like the complaint was dealt with appropriately.

Negative experience: Most of the gym is made for either walking or men workouts. If you are a woman you dont have many options. All is focused on arm workouts and walking. Only a few machines for legs, which are always busy cause there's only 1 each!!! They have less gym equipment than before, and it's always crowded even when the app says 50 spaces available. The gym floor is always dirty. Although staff do clean, they only pass through the main areas with the cheap red vacuum cleaner that doesnt clean at all. Next to the gym there is a room, that could be used for more gym equipment or free space for random workouts, but no, it's for group workouts even when they have more rooms for that. You dont have much freedom for random workouts on your own, as you cannot use that space, and there is nowhere else. They increase the payment from time to time with no improvement on the services nor the offers. You have to pay 61 for a family of four and The track lanes are not included and need to pay extra if you would like to run outside from time to time. (6.90) for 1 hour every time. The tennis is not included either and need to pay up to 10.70 every time, same for the other racquet sports. The health suite, that it's included on the price. Most of the time is under repair!! And I see no difference!! The booking system is worthless, even when you are going to book a swim session for the whole family, the swim lanes are always busy regardless of whatever the booking says!! Overall, I see it as a waste of money. I haven't left because of the pool for the children Plus they like to increase the payment with no improvement on anything!!!

Fantastic experience: I love HMY, the coffee is the best coffee in town and the service is great. Amy and Ollie are very kind and helpful and have excellent customer service skills. My kids like it there too as it's a relaxing environment and there are games and colouring. Sometimes it does get quite busy which means sometimes you have to wait to be served, but you can see the queue when you walk in so you can make the decision whether to wait or not. I personally dont mind waiting for a nice coffee, but some days i feel an extra staff member is needed. If you are looking for nice coffee and chilled vibes then this is the place. :)

Positive experience: I came here to go swimming, the pool was really lovely and friendly staff. But the changing rooms were disgusting, the water from someone’s shower came under the door then all our belongings got wet. There was dust all over the top of the doors and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years.

Negative experience: Gym is to expensive to close at 9 pm

Fantastic experience: Just become a member because I turned 60 you get three months I think it's 14 pound a month then goes up to 30 pounds which I think is okay

Negative experience: Went here this morning. Very rude staff. Made me feel very unwelcome. Will not be going again.

Negative experience: No one answered the phone so we turned up but then couldn’t go swimming without setting up an account. Long queues with one person serving and lots of people having to download the app and make an account once they arrived. Seems like a crazy very inefficient way of doing things! Won’t be returning

Fantastic experience: I attend here regularly and find the classes brilliant. I also enjoying taking my children to the pool.

Great little cafe and serving variety of items including hot pasties etc. Viewing gallery is very good and parking is adequate although it was hard to find a space on a competitor on day. Would recommend to anyone

Negative experience: They need more classes and need to teach their young staff some customer service. I had a young lady talk to me disrespectfully and hang up on me twice. Don't know why I am paying £58 a month to be treated like that.

Fantastic experience: Nice leisure centre, lots of sports covered with changing facilities. A small but very well stocked café offering a variety of foods and drinks. Currently some things are being changed or updated. All the staff are lovely and very happy to help.

Fantastic experience: Our favourite leisure centre by far. We happily drive there about an hour every week even though we have two leisure centres in our area..they don't even come close to this one. I think that says a lot. Nice relaxed atmosphere, great staff, no crazy rules, clean water and premises, nice playground/soft paly area and pretty much everything there. A true blessing in our lives, especially during the winter months. Many thanks to everyone at Actif Carmarthen for their hard work, dedication and great service.

Positive experience: I had a great swim, and the facilities and access were good, but the place wasn't clean, and the changing rooms were tatty. Broken lights and doors and really, really dirty toilets. Otherwise I had a good time.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Leisure Centre to use the Gym today whilst I was staying in the area. I booked the session online (after creating a free account), and turned up for my session. Staff on reception were very helpful explaining where things were. The gym is very impressive, and absolutely full of lots of different types of equipment, including a whole range of resistance machines and free weights. There are two rooms (the main gym, and an exercise room (which I assume is for classes, but also contains some equipment if you want to break out from the main space). All the equipment was very clean, but some of the equipment is a bit tired, however this is made up for the huge range of equipment there to use. A single walk in session cost £6.40, but I think this is very reasonable for how much there is to offer. Overall, a great experience, and it's a shame I live 200 miles away!

Negative experience: Just been swimming with my daughter today. Absaloutey freezing their within 5 minutes she was shivering and lips went blue. The showers were cold to so couldn't even warm up with a hot shower.

Negative experience: Website is useless, the staff refuse to answer the phone. Something simple like finding out family swimming times was a stressful encounter, I gave up in the end!

Negative experience: New equipment bought lately so that's the only thing good. Membership prices gone up again and now a cancellation charge of £3 every time if u don't turn up to a booked section or even cancel ur booked session within 5 hours of the class or gym session that's a joke. And till u pay the fee u can't book any thing else.

Fantastic experience: Carmarthen Leisure Center has been fantastic during the summer holidays. I take my grandchildren most weeks and they love every minute. Its really clean plus the staff are very friendly. Its a great asset to Carmarthen!!!!!

Positive experience: It's a sports bank, making money and profit is their ultimate thrill. Please go and have fun, laugh, jump, play and run, but follow the rules that come with the bill.

Negative experience: Went there to recover from injury. I was dumped into a group of geriatric walking around in circles. Also one of the instructors there has a problem with fat and old people. She goes out of her way to discriminate against them when she can, then hides behind the excuse that it's her job.
