Negative experience: I only use the gym for showers. But I have to say I'm not very impressed with staffing. I visited a couple of weeks ago and had a fall in the disabled space just outside. No one to help. And still having issues with my foot. No contact number for pure gym only email or Facebook which I struggle to use. Not impressed what so ever. there is always a sign at the door when I visit stating this gym is not staffed
Hi Robbie, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. This is both to control our energy usage, but also with a look to reduce our carbon footprint. Our showers are now set at a temperature of 36C and have a flow rate of 5 litres per minute. These parameters are regularly monitored and we also have regular checks carried out on boilers and associated equipment to ensure the units are operating as they should be across all of our gyms. On occasion, we can get faults on our water system which is normal. When this happens, there is a process in place to ensure we arrange for our contractors to attend, investigate, and resolve the faults and return the systems back to full working order within a timely manner. If you believe there may be an issue, please speak to a member of the gym team who will be able to assist further. All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes. Fantastic experience: Went to this puregym for a few months, and it was amazing. The staff were lovely, smiley and just had amazing energy from what i saw. I have seen a few bad reviews but from my experience, it was amazing. I went there almost everyday, the music playing was awesome and kept me concentrated on my sets. Overall, very lovely and i hope to come back soon, it’s just the memberships that are unaffordable from my side, but it kept me healthy for a long time. Everything was easy to find, such as locker rooms along and equipment, loved the layout and where everything was based.

Fantastic experience: Always clean. A good variety of weight lifting machines although I see lately four machines have been put closely together so customers are sitting within a metre of each other when exercising so spread of covid higher than when all machines used to be two mtrs apart apart from that a great gym

Positive experience: Good value but work needed on hygiene and maintenance timescales

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Positive experience: It’s ok but lack of some machines like to train forearm there’s is no machine and zig zag bars for preacher curl is not good, I hope they install some more modern equipments

Fantastic experience: The beauty gym in the area
Fantastic experience: Been to quite a few PureGyms now with the membership allowing use of all their gyms, and I have to say this is my favourite one and I wish I worked closer to this location more often. Love the layout and the atmosphere. Changing rooms probably the best I’ve seen at a PureGym and the free weight area is well stocked.

Negative experience: Used to be ok but basically put zero investment into it until their hands were forced with a competitor across town. Weights not managed well towards end of my membership. Spent more time looking for certain plates than lifting them

Positive experience: Music, terrible, too loud and just common trashy pop. The "unlimited water" is limited, to every 20 minutes. 500ml in 20 minutes is rookie numbers, up them rookie numbers! At least it's better than Fenton though, not like that's difficult with all the lazy individuals that go there and can't be bothered to rack their weights after use.

Fantastic experience: Been a member at Stafford gym for over a year now and always had a great experience. It was lacking some key equipment for me but following a recent refresh and the addition of the equipment I was hoping for I think you couldn’t ask for more and it prompted me to right this review. Staff are friendly and the gym is clean with huge variety of machines, benches and loose weights. I highly recommend it

Positive experience: Lovely staff, and I Enjoy the gym. Never too busy, never too dead. *but* The sports water machine that i and others pay extra for has been broken for the best part of a month now with no sign of it being fixed. A week? Cool, understandable. But it’s getting irritating that what people pay for doesn’t seem like a priority. *Update* It was fixed not long after posting this along with a lot of other positive renovations, so upgraded the review.

Positive experience: Great gym clean tidy and staff so helpful only problem kids messing around swearing and not even using equipment just on there phones parking is a nightmare all people do is park up and go into town or use it for mcdonalds or just to sit in groups and chat sorry guys wish I could give u higher stars ✨

Positive experience: I joined PureGym for the classes, specifically circuits. I had a rib injury so haven't been for 2 weeks, however they haven't had any circuits for the last 2 weeks. If they don't continue I will stop my membership. There isn't even an email address I can find to ask about the classes, hence my 3* review

Positive experience: I find Stafford Pure Gym to be excellent overall; however, there are a couple of areas for improvement. Firstly, the air conditioning is quite chilly, particularly over the cardio zone, which can be uncomfortable when you're sweating. Secondly, some machines do not allow for a full range of motion, and certain seats cannot be adjusted properly, such as the pull-down machine on the first floor.

Positive experience: The actual gym is good but if you're male and planning on a having a shower after a workout, its not the place for you. They used to have 8 showers but for some reason which I can not fathom, they have blocked 4 of them up. They now have 4 remaining with 1 of them ALWAYS not working, which brings it to a total of 3 showers. Now this still seems adequate at quiet times but if you visit at peak times and need a shower, you'll be in a que for about 20 mins for one to become free.

If you have any concerns about equipment, you can speak to staff on site. Our gyms are very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day and from day to day. To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities. Positive experience: Lots of car parking and reasonable prices. There is no signage inside though so when visiting for the first time its a bit tricky to navigate and work out where certain things are.

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst pure gym I’ve ever been too,and I’ve trained in 6 different pure gyms,fire drills every 4 weeks that destroy you’re session and plus the rudest staff I’ve ever known in pure gym ever.recommend elements instead !!

Positive experience: Starting to look tired, with lots of surfaces rust on machines (probably due to covid wiping down). Mats never hanging on wall hooks (filled out suggestion forms a number of times, no notice taken). Some machines in high demand (cable and smith). But overall a good gym..

Negative experience: I visited here to have a look around before potentially joining. I was given a tour by the manager, who was really friendly and helpful. I wasn't impressed with the layout of the gym at all and there appeared to be a mix of old and new equipment that was really spaced out around the site. Although there is a lot of equipment, I just didn't like the atmosphere at all ( which may be different depending on the time of day). I was impressed by the parking and the general ease of access but overall this gym didn't resonate with me at all. It just didn't feel welcoming, despite managers efforts.

Positive experience: Nothing too fancy but some good modern equipment and helpful staff. The 24 hour opening is a bonus for those who work shifts and there's always an emergency station if you need it. If you're after a spa/pool then look somewhere else but for a good workout at a reasonable price then you can't go far wrong.

Negative experience: Ok budget gym, small range of basic kit, broken equipment here and there, cleanliness at very basic levels. Get what you pay for

We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. Negative experience: This gym claims to cater for all abitities. It does not the lift has been out of order for over a week and I am now told it will remain like this until June. The staff are not particularly observant of the cleaning routines after using equipment. I have yet to see a member of staff wipe the equipment after they have used it. The Gym does NOT cater for all abilities and assumes that anyone using the Gym is totally fit before they enter.

Positive experience: This gym is hit and miss. I still miss the Virgin gym and swim pool I use to work in. This gym could really of used the pool to its benefit. There isn't much equipment really. When there's 30 or so people inside most equipment is being used. It's often full of serious gym goers and you do feel like the fat one who's trying but not succeeding. Could do with more sitting down bikes, more of the same equipment in the downstairs area for arms/leg work outs. As a female I find it intimidating to go into the "muscle" area of weights so I avoid it even though I'd like to try bits. You don't see many women in that area. Maybe a separate area for the people who want to use weights but not serious? Carpark can be really busy and spaces are tight. It gives off a lonely vibe I'm not sure why. I'll still pay to go to lose weight but it could do with improvements and colour, get some colour on the walls. So boring looking at white walls.

Positive experience: Trying to work out while there’s PureGym staff filming tutorials infront of me - distracting and pretty sure I was in the footage which I didn’t consent to (presume It was going online and felt embarrassed being caught sweaty and in my gym clothes). Very off putting and actually had to move to the other side of the gym…. Gym itself is very good and I enjoy being able to work out late and on bank holidays etc :)

Positive experience: Spacious and a good variety of equipments - but it can get very busy at peak time. Lack of car park spaces, especially from 5.30pm where it is impossible to find a parking. Although classes are included in the membership, organisation should be revised. They keep cancelling and re-arrange timetable constantly with no explanations and no notice - which is really annoying. Everyone is basically complaining about this. Not good variety of classes offered after 5.30pm at the moment. Also they allow too many people to attend a class, so then there is no space or air circulation. I joined combat class last week and the teacher didn't even check the people names on the list and then there wasn't enough space. The class was nice but I couldn't join. They also let people still wearing work clothes - I have seen many times a guy with orange trousers using the equipments and still wearing dirty work clothes and boots - which is quite disappointing! we are supposed to wear gym clothes, aren't we? I really hope my review is a warning for a change.

Negative experience: It’s a good gym, reasonably priced with friendly staff/gym users. I go in mornings before work and never really have difficulties getting on the equipment I want to use which is good. Seems very clean the majority of the time as well. It just loses one star because the hot water for the showers has been broken a fair few times which is never pleasant. EDIT: Showers weren’t working again - as in no water at all! So it loses an extra star. And they didn’t bother telling anyone. Communication from the gym is really poor at the best of times. Lots of other stuff seems to break and just never get fixed either. Think I’m going to cancel my pure gym membership because it’s just not a nice experience anymore.

Negative experience: Didn't actually use the gym so can't comment on the facilities. Went with others who were and I stayed outside. However, it's a nightmare to get in if you have a pass code. The machines are complicated and don't always work. There's no clear instructions how to use the coded doors and the opening/closing access doors seem small and chlostophobic. Glad I didn't use them. It was mega busy. Car park's not easy to negotiate either. Most people just used the disabled bays for ease of convenience. Don't blame them.

We ask that all members use the pods for entry, enterring their unique PIN into the keypad or using the QR code from the app. We do this to monitor the number of people in our gyms and track attendance. The easy access doors are used for disabled access. We are usually busiest around peak times between 5-8pm. Thanks, PureGym
Positive experience: Lots of kit and friendly staff, big carpark and a Maccies within throwing distance, albeit counterproductive. Would have given it 5 stars but after 8pm the music goes quiter than an earwig rubbing it's eye.

Negative experience: To expensive will not let you pay as you go only except monthly payments which are useless if you spend half your week in hospital due to you illness so why pay a month's bill if you use it 4 days in the month
