Fantastic experience: An oasis in a desert! Beautiful building and architecture, we were there for a wake, the buffet they provided was excellent very tasty. The staff were very welcoming.

Positive experience: Checked into room to find the room dirty and very run down was in the lodge! The hotel rooms and communal areas like lifts and corridors could do with a bit of tlc. Bits of wall paper missing or hanging off walls! Marks on walls etc.. We did get moved rooms and second room which was in the main hotel building a lot cleaner but still not 100% dust on lights and lamps. Cobwebs all round inside of window in bathroom! Got told this was the only other room they had so didn’t ask to get moved again and tbh wanted to relax. Pictures are of the first room!

Negative experience: Not impressed room we had was nothing like the room advertised. Net curtain was very dirty and mouldy. No information in the room about heating, shower use, or times for breakfast, or checkout.

Fantastic experience: First time staying, will definitely be returning the room me and my mum had was huge and the bed was very comfortable, staff were polite friendly and very welcoming especially the man behind the bar. Food was incredible!! Definitely recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful stay at the BW Connaught, we stayed in The Lily suite and would definitely recommend. The food in the brasserie was top class just a shame not many people eat there as the quality deserves more useage.

Fantastic experience: I must commend the staff at the connaught for thier excellent service and attentiveness, they hosted my wedding and I could not have asked for a better venue, I didn't have to worry about a single thing on my special day, they took care of every detail. The staff were very sweet, attentive, humorous and my guests cannot stop commenting on great everything was. The food was out of this world, great portions and delicious. Positive experience: My friend and my self only went there for an afternoon tea. Booking was hard as it took many a phone call for them to answer, it either keep ringing,or a message came through saying please call later. Service was a little slow, but the afternoon tea and cakes were good. Would go again if I see an offer advertised.

Negative experience: Please please can you sort out air conditioning for the ladies changing room in the spa. It is so unbearably hot it made me feel ill. The ceiling above the pool could also do with a clean/fixing as it really lets it down. I visited on a day pass before deciding about become a leisure member. The temperature of the changing room put me off entirely.

Fantastic experience: I have stayed here about 4 times with my best friend - we have taken advantage of the amazing gin infused spa break deal each time. Can't fault this deal, it is superb value for money with an afternoon tea and 55 minute massage included along with three course evening meal, overnight stay with breakfast and £30 bar voucher which doesn't have to be spent on gin. The hotel itself is excellently located only a minute's walk from the beach, and it's at the quieter end of town so very peaceful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the spa is a little tired perhaps, but otherwise clean and has everything you could want. The massages are always wonderful, the bar is excellently stocked, the staff are attentive and friendly, and the food is always above expectations. Looking forward to another visit very soon!

Positive experience: Great location and parking, we weren't made aware when booking that construction work was happening! The beds also didn't make for a comfortable sleep and after the first night we had to request an additional duvet to sleep on! Staff amenable, always prefer when they're more attentive and friendlier. Wouldn't stay again

Negative experience: Unfortunately one of the single rooms had a weird sound (almost like the start of an instant coffee machine) that went off every 20 minutes. What was it? I couldn’t find how to turn it off but really bloody annoying

Fantastic experience: Outstanding. We had the most amazing stay here for two nights. Lunch/afternoon tea/dinner was stand out in the brasserie. The quality of the food and ingredients really stood out. The scones during afternoon tea were homemade too! Absolutely delicious. Some of the reviews we seen online before visiting made us feel very sceptical, however, the hotel itself is so lovely. It’s definitely a ‘classic’ feel which takes you back in time. Majority of the rooms are recently refurbished and the hallways are in the process of being refurbished - which demonstrates the management do care about the hotel. Massage and spa was 11/10. Thanks to all the lovely staff , particularly Ana on the front desk, Tomas the bar manager and the sweet lady who served us lunch and afternoon tea in the brassiere. Such a wonderful experience and we will definitely be returning!

Fantastic experience: My Mum and I had an afternoon tea with a voucher my Mum was given for her Birthday. Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was yummy and presentation was spot on. The only thing was the scones were a bit hard. Hotel was neat and tidy. We felt like we were on the Titanic in the eating area, the floor was beautiful. The atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. We are thinking of having a spa day here at some point. We would recommend this hotel, we think it's a great place to meet up with friends and family.

Fantastic experience: This is definitely one of the more modern hotels in Bournemouth. The entrance hall and dining facilities are bright, welcoming & modern. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The lunch at the restaurant was really nice & the staff were really attentive. The spa facilities were lovely, warm pool & jacuzzi. We also enjoyed the steam room & sauna. We had a slight issue with a noisy Air Conditioning unit in our room, we called reception at around 10pm, they immediately moved us to another room. We will definitely stay here again. Also Hannah who was our therapist at the spa was amazing, the treatment was so relaxing, she really went over and above.

Positive experience: Very kind staffs! The staffs always brought everything I requested up to the top floor room. Bathrooms could smell a bit better. Balcony needs a bit of TLC. Smart TV would be appreciated. Overall not a bad experience.

Fantastic experience: We stayed here in mid August '24 when there was a heat spike. The hotel was really cool calm and tranquil in a perfect location for beach and town access. We favoured using the pool rather than the crowded beach and this was a good decision. Our room was on the top floor and had a balcony which was great as we could keep the sliding doors open all the time. There is aircon but we didn't use it. Room was decorated to a high standard and the bathroom and shower a good size. However the shower cubicle is care worn and does need replacing. Room was cleaned and serviced every day with water etc replaced. It is pricey to eat in the restaurant so we had just one meal there and then went out to nearby restaurants for the other nights. We found if you book direct with the hotel there is no charge for parking. Left the car in situ and used the hop on hop off bus to see the area as the bus stop is at the end of the road. Staff were friendly but busy and the spa receptionist could do with a little more customer service training but she was fine overall.

Fantastic experience: The staff is very helpful, and the SPA is nice. Changing rooms need aircon amd can do with little more cleaning. Overall a good place.

Negative experience: Went today for afternoon tea, food was lovely but service was awful. Food was just put on the table and then he walked away. Usually you are told what you are going to eat. I watched 2 people look for staff for my drinks. I waited for someone to come into the dining area for us to get another drink but no one came so I too had to go and find someone. We left half an hour later and from dining area, bar and reception there wasn’t a single member of staff for me to voice my concerns so we just left. Very disappointed.

Positive experience: The rooms in the Lodge are very dated and in desperate need of a refresh. Cobwebs in the corner. Shower is ok but takes a while to heat up. Loved the bed. Very big and comfy. If you like firm, which I do. Really good night's sleep. Just dusty. Gym is minimalist. Pool is really nice.

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to you and your team for a fantastic few days in Bournemouth for our group of 30. Everything ran extremely smoothly, nothing was too much trouble & the facilities were perfect. The rooms were lovely, breakfast generous and tasty and hotel and grounds were beautiful - we were so pleased we were able to enjoy the courtyard when the sun came out. The Franklyn Suite was perfect for our needs - very spacious with a projector, speaker and refreshments. A special mention goes to Kevin, who was just brilliant and so kind. I would wholeheartedly recommend the hotel to others for both business and personal trips.

Negative experience: We requested a room with a bath way ahead of our booking as I have a bad knee and we didn’t get this. There was a wedding which we weren’t told about so there were screaming children running past our room all night and music booming until midnight. Guests should be told about these things ahead of booking, was an uncomfortable stay. Water dripping out of the aircon down the walls. Bad water pressure , no conditioner in the rooms, just body and hair wash in the same bottle for £150 a night surely a small bottle of conditioner would be given? Good things are a nice breakfast and pool / spa £300 for 2 nights here is ridiculous, so outdated and loud. Wouldn’t stay again

Fantastic experience: Went here for Afternoon Tea with my wife on Friday. We weren't staying at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and the service was great too. The quality of the afternoon tea was extremely good. I couldn't fault this experience at all. Parking could be a bit of an issue. They do have an overflow car park as well. You have to obtain a parking permit from reception which you display in the car. The parking is free. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for Afternoon Tea.

Fantastic experience: Today I used a spa voucher that was gifted to me as a birthday present from my friends. Included in the voucher was afternoon tea, use of the pool & sauna, and a massage with facial. I arrived at 12pm and was out by 3:30pm. The whole experience was incredible. Tea was delicious, sauna/pool was clean & relaxing, and the spa team were incredible. 10/10 for the massage/facial. Highly recommended for busy life individuals or those just wanting a nice & professional spa experience.

Positive experience: Great location between the beach and the town. When we checked in, the receptionist kept us waiting while she tapped away on that computer which didn't feel very welcoming. We stayed in one of the standard rooms which had everything needed for a short stay. The bed was ridiculously comfy. The bathroom was spotlessly clean but the tap on the sink was loose. View out of the window was a metal staircase which wasn't great but the room had a calming feel with relaxing colour scheme. The spa was simple, the facilities were good and very relaxing atmosphere. It was nice and quiet. Went to order a drink at the bar in the evening and was told that there was no beer or wine- just gin which we thought was a bit odd. Overall a pleasant and relaxing stay and slept wonderfully.

Negative experience: The room is old and quite small, even TV did not work properly. You must pay GBP 10.00 for parking if you book this hotel via 3rd parties, that is terrible. Coffee, I had at this hotel, it is disaster.

Fantastic experience: We've stayed here before and paid less than a Travelodge for a night on a B&B basis. We were in the lodge and, though in places the room looked tired, it was clean. The pool is 18m long, so you can have a 'good' swim. There's a sauna and steam room. It was quiet at night and we slept well. The breakfast was fantastic. A hot breakfast buffet that was served to you and, this is the best bit in my opinion, the plates were taken away once they were finished with. No sitting around on a table full up with dirty dishes. The breakfast staff are attentive and all the staff that we encountered were very friendly. It is in a good spot as you can be by the pier in less than 15 minutes stroll.

Fantastic experience: Room was small but with a big double bed. It had a bathtub and SPA. You can order a spa treatment or just enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi or 2 saunas.

Positive experience: A nice well run hotel. We were in the Lodge and had a lovely room. Only negative - the shower was very poor. But that's the only negative. Breakfast was delicious. All staff were good. Pool was lovely. Very nice.

Positive experience: Room in the lodge uninspiring small and basic and looking rather tired although beds were good. However evening meal in brasserie was excellent and breakfast was reasonable but fairly typical of buffet style.

Fantastic experience: Top marks for Maria and her team, we booked our wedding there and besides the legendary service we received from our initial tour and booking the wedding venue there up to the big day, we had a wedding day that's hard to beat. Maria was on hand on the day to make sure everything was in order, I didn't need to do much and that for things I did need to do, I was where I needed to be when I needed to do them. We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and drinks reception, the wedding breakfast was out of this world and the whole day felt like a seamless, well oiled machine run by expert and professional staff who made it so special! The Orchid suite was beautiful and laid out for us as a married couple, complete with folded towels to look like two swans forming a heart, heart shaped petal confetti on the bed and a beautiful balcony area. Breakfast the next morning was again excellent, the staff were so friendly and the hotel itself is beautiful, thank you so much for the perfect wedding experience!

Fantastic experience: My partner and I had the afternoon tea with prosecco and unlimited tea and coffee. There was a nice variety of sandwiches and cakes. The scones were my favourite as they were still warm . It was quite quiet,maybe because we went on a Sunday afternoon. Very relaxed atmosphere and when we had finished eating there was rush to get us out like some places I've been to. Would highly recommend it. Can't comment about the rooms as haven't been in them.

Fantastic experience: Thought I'd have a week en away and I didn't regret it. The hotel is lovely, cosy and relaxing and the staff very friendly and helpful, we stayed in the lodge, the room was good size but a bit wobbly, the floors are creaky, but overall good. Room service is every day and you can contact the staff members via a WhatsApp app which I found very handy. The Spa facilities are amazing, there is a pool, a sauna, a steam room and a jacuzzi that anyone that staying in the hotel can use for free, there are also a range of treatments available. The breakfast was good there was a range of different options. We also had one of the best sandwich. I would recommend it to anyone and I would definitely go back

Positive experience: Great location for Bournemouth Town and beach. Car park is an issue. Doesn't appear to be as many parked spaces as rooms, never mind for staff and gym members. Old and faded lines are painted over even older lines, in different directions, so not possible to know where to park for the best. Some spaces have a small wall in so cannot open the door once parked. Staff were all happy/friendly/helpful but Tom particularly deserves a huge thank you. Medical issue approx 6pm. He helped so much, looking up medical help, late night pharmacies, calling to check they were open, definitely went above and beyond, he eased anxiety which we were ever so grateful for. Room and public areas are tired in terms of decor. Room was acceptable but very small. Bathroom was not clean. Mould/marks/limescale. Sticky sides and dusty furniture. Shampoo had run out. Asked for me. Was left 4 bars of soap. Spa and pool area nice and well kept although ceilings need attention. To be honest it is overpriced.

Positive experience: The spa itself was busy but okay, the massage was good. However, the afternoon tea was disappointing. Only three fingers of sandwich each, and the cakes were bitter and stale. One slice of coffee and forest fruit each and a shot glass of whipped cream. The cakes should have been better as it was an afternoon tea so a bit of a shame. We did get two scones which were nice, but I probably wouldn't go back because of the cakes. We did have a juice and a prosecco but the cakes really needed to be better.

Fantastic experience: Amazing hotel and spa!! It’s the second time we have stayed it purely because of how lovely the staff were! I had a facial from Hannah and I couldn’t recommend enough! Skin feels lovely and fresh! The staff really make this hotel! And I’ll gladly recommend again!

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed that the 'Bluewater Spa' won't give me any extension on a gift voucher for a spa day that I received from a friend, following my divorce. I lost the gift voucher and have only just found it, but it ran out this week. This week is half term so I am looking after my children. The team just simply said they don't extend vouchers. Such a shame, given I could have done with the spa day. They could have easily just extended it by a week. Left a very sour taste in my mouth now, regarding this hotel!

Fantastic experience: I've visited this hotel for lunch, massage, facial and access to their leisure facilities. Lunch (fish and chips) was delicious but portions are quite large, which is great for a customer probably not as good for the hotel. I also had an amazing cheesecake. The staff at the restaurant are very friendly and very professional and very helpful. My only complaint is that it was a little bit cold, but it was one of the coldest days of 2024. The massage and facial were amazing, so relaxing, so professional, it made me feel very special. Leisure facilities are also very good. Warm swimming and a good size swimming pool and even warmer and very big jacuzzi. My only complaints are the lockers in the changing rooms which are slightly fiddly and I would prefer a normal shower rather than a shower that turns off automatically and you need to turn it on again, but it's just a personal preference. Overall I had a great time and I would like to come back. It's a shame that this hotel is located quite far away from where I live.

Negative experience: Dirty and ready for renovation. - every table, chair or other surface has dust on it - carpet is very dirty like whole hotel - room was not vaccumed once in a week - bed linen had stains, carpet also - sometimes small towels missing in bathroom, sometimes large towels - so many damaged walls and things - fitness room is full of rust - fitness room have a huge water damage. looks older - sauna is out of order - no water tube in steam batch. so you sit in other peoples sweat

Fantastic experience: I stayed at the Connaught Hotel over Christmas. In the room that I had there was hardly anywhere to store your clothes during your stay. As I was booked at the Hotel with their Christmas break I am not sure if I will be receiving Best Western member points. I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. When I say that I am of course including all of the boys and girls that we do not see without whom the Hotel would not run so smoothly. Special mention should be made for the two lads that were serving Christmas lunch to everybody. During Lunch and Dinner a few local musicians came in to play to us. The poor Lads were running around like headless chickens. Message to management, look after her. They are good. The food for Lunch and Dinner was delicious. I really cannot comment on the Breakfast as I only had cereal and yoghurt. . If you love Gin then this is the place for you as they have over 300 different Gins I cannot comment on breakfast as I was room only. I have already booked my next stay at the Hotel.

Negative experience: Stayed in the Lodge, we just needed a bed for the night so booked a cheap room and the room itself was basic so reflected the price. However, the room still needs a bit of work, the power pump for the shower and taps was noisy and faulty. Reason for the single star, there was a massive fly infestation (strange for December) outside’s the room, hotel staff were spraying in the early hours a few times but because of the gaps around the doors (Probably not adequate fire doors) we had to put towel on the floor to block the fumes. When we left we had to walk over hundreds of dead flies. Didn’t feel well enough after this for breakfast so got that refunded and got away ASAP.

Positive experience: We originally booked a twin room in the connaught lodge and when we arrived was told we had been upgraded to the main hotel. The room was clean and had everything we needed in it, the only thing I would say is that it was a double room with 2 single beds together made up as a double. Now to me if someone books a twin room then it's because they wanted a twin room. However it wasn't a big issue as I was with my sister. The beds we found were very firm so didn't sleep well. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice and good quality. We used the spa a few times and was nice to go for a swim, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi and just relax for hour or so. We even booked in for some treatments. We used the bar for drinks in afternoon and evening and bar staff very nice and friendly. To be honest all the staff there were great.

Positive experience: We upgraded to a suite, but they don't tell you it's in The Lodge next door. The room was awful. So we found the duty manager. To be fair she did a reasonable job even though it cost us another £20 a night to upgrade to a suite in the main hotel. The room was fine but could do with updating. Ben the barman was spot on especially at the gin bar. Unfortunately when we came back to the hotel after being out the bar was often closed and it was only about 9.45 pm. A couple of the bar staff were fairly miserable. Not the same for the waiting staff at breakfast they were on point. Would we go back...probably not.

Fantastic experience: I loved my stay here. The rooms and facilities were great. The location is convenient and a short walk from the beach. I loved the gym and pool, which were my favourite features - what a great way to keep customers active and relaxed at the same time! Staff were polite and client-centred and dealt with any issues immediately and professionally. I would definitely come back.

Positive experience: We have been here several times over the last 10 years, but I must say that the hotel is now feeling rather tired away from the reception and eating areas. Our room was the tulip suite, which had a lovely bathroom, but was rather cold. The room itself had seen better days and needed a refresh. The hotel was also quite cold. The staff were OK in general but not overly friendly. All kind of feels like it needs a bit of improvement.

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed a spa day with afternoon tea and two treatments. I used all the facilities other than the gym and I can honestly say I cannot fault a single thing. The staff were friendly, the facilities were lovely, it was all very clean, quiet and relaxing. The afternoon tea was delicious. I would absolutely return!

Fantastic experience: We were part of a Ladies Festival Weekend. 70 guests, 2 nights, bed breakfast and evening meals, including a gala dinner on the Saturday night. The hotel looked after us superbly. The rooms was comfortable, the food was amazing and the staff were really welcoming and attentively. They all made it such a fabulous weekend. I thoroughly recommend this hotel!

Fantastic experience: Enjoyed the convenience of being a short drive from Poole Harbour with the facilities on offer near to the hotel. A warm welcome and great staff. Highly recommend the restaurant food as I was surprized at the quality and taste. The pool looked good, sadly did not have time to use it. Apears there is a steam room, which is not mentioned when they say that the sauna is under repair. I would be happy with this alternative. Would definitely stay again, hopefully for longer next time.

Positive experience: The rooms need some TLC, the curtain rail was broken in one room, the divan base of a bed and bulb in a lamp was broken in another room, however the staff were fantastic and super friendly and went out of their way to help us. It was fine as a place to stay overnight. We didn't have the best night of sleep due to the bed (to be fair we'd just moved rooms due to the curtain issue and didn't tell the staff about the bed or the lamp because it was late - we'd been out and just wanted to sleep). We had breakfast the following morning which was lovely and service was brilliant and we used the spa which was exactly as expected.

Positive experience: We went for afternoon tea. There was plenty for 2 and even brought some home with boxes they gave us. Service was amazing and staff are helpful and friendly. The dining area is open and light. There were very few spaces for parking as it was busy and the spaces were tight.

Positive experience: Great food, excellent staff, lovely ambiance, good location. On the downside, we had a tiny bathroom for an executive room, and there were lots of drip marks on the walls in the lounge area, but the room was generally clean.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic, definitely use again. Room 9 with a balcony overlooking the garden. Great comfortable bed. Breakfast fantastic. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room are brilliant. Short walk to the beach and town. Parking space provided.

Negative experience: NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL! Definitely not worthy of 4 stars. Don’t let the images they show deceive you. On google maps, go to: Photos -> From Visitors, and you will see what the hotel actually looks like. £150 for 2 nights, room was small and smelled bad. Carpets were really old and terrible, dirty stained and just horrible, didn’t even want to take my shoes off. Bathroom was clean enough but was more like a cupboard than a ‘room’. Also the bed smelt odd, a weird smell that had been covered up with air freshener. Asked to see other rooms, but more of the same story.The service was ok, but not very caring, the staff clearly didn’t want to be there. I cannot believe they get away with their website! The pictures of the rooms are lovely, clean and much larger than reality. Don’t be fooled, the website is not at all representative of the room quality. I would go as far to say it’s false advertising….I told management and they basically said they didn’t care. Won’t be coming here again, especially for the money, I expected a lot more. In the end we cancelled and got a refund, went to the Premier Inn across the road, Actually cheaper (£110) and overall much better there: cleaner, larger rooms and overall just better quality. It is possible that their top level rooms are of better quality, hence why some people are leaving good reviews. But if you look closely, there are a lot of people who have experienced the same as me. There are much better hotels nearby for the same price. Still cannot believe they get away with the images on their website, they’re just lying. Final comment (if you’ve get this far), they seem to reply personally to each bad review on this google platform. Any hotel that that tried to makes excuses or disputes bad reviews is an immediate red flag for me. Let’s see if they have a silly retort for for this review, or perhaps they can they gracefully accept the comments and try to improve…let’s see.

Positive experience: This is actually the second time we have stayed here the first time we really enjoyed until we checked out and went to the car in the hotel car park and somebody had hit my car and damaged it. putting that behind us we are here for a second visit for five nights unfortunately three of those days the hotel has had functions on so we are hard pressed to eat and drink here. Are we paying guests or just an inconvenience room 203 .

Fantastic experience: Sadly only a quick visit this time but we will definitely be back. A lovely hotel with lots of character and great staff. We had a brilliant breakfast with fresh porridge and veggie options. Fast efficient service and relaxing atmosphere. Great location to walk into the town or the beaches. Definitely a 5 ***** hotel.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my Partner stayed here for 2 wonderful nights. The hotel is absolute beautiful the rooms are absolutely beautiful. The staff are very accommodating and so polite, they make you feel so welcome. And the 3 course meal we had with wine, was absolutely fantastic. We will definitely be coning back and telling friends and family about it too

Negative experience: I’m quite disappointed by the hotel and really don’t know how it qualifies as a 4 star hotel. The standard room we got is what I expect to find in a 2 stars hotel, small very simple room, with a tiny bathroom, a small shower cabin… the rest of the hotel looks old and in need of refurbishment. The spa is the best part, with a nice pool and hot tub. However the ceiling is all moldy and needs to be replaced. The breakfast is good but some items listed on the menu like charcuterie and cheese were missing from the buffet. The service was good and we had a good stay overall, but I would have picked another hotel if I knew what to expect.

Positive experience: Just had an amazing birthday holiday there, really welcoming staff and always helpful in every way, lovely gardens and lovely downstairs bar area plus brilliant spa facilities. Spacious room with a nice view on the garden.

Fantastic experience: Our son on the 15 th July had his wedding here and I cannot praise Maria and her staff enough . They were organised “by the little guy “ so sorry I cannot remember his name but he was on the ball . Roberto was always ensuring that everyone was happy . The food . That’s a story of its own from the canapés (with the gin bar )continuous and always different and of an excellent quality . Again being aware of which guests did not like meat etc and there was over 100 guests , so that’s a fete in itself to the three course meal attention to detail was superb , no one had dirty plates left in front of them . Then the evening buffet just amazing . So a big thank you to everyone who helped make Jayne and Marks wedding a day to remember

Positive experience: Food: Overall the food was good. However, one of the steak pies contained quite some connective tissue which was really chewy and couldn’t be eaten. According to the kitchen it ‘had to be like this and is just part of the meat’ which was a bit of a strange reaction. We mentioned twice that it shouldn’t be in the pie and wasn’t edible, but we felt unheard by the staff and manager. Room: We mentioned the toilet didn’t flush properly and there supposed to be someone coming looking at it, but nobody came and the issue was not resolved. Overall, the service and facilities should’ve made up for the fact that the interior of the hotel is quite outdated, but unfortunately the negative aspects highlighted before will be remembered.

Positive experience: We stayed with you for 3 days.a special 50th anniversary.Our room was clean and tidy. On arrival we had a tea and prawn sandwich which was very good. Unfortunately we had a meal the next day of fish and chips, which looked amazing and husband had a mixed grill which didn't look as good. When l cut into my fish it was oozing oil really not good. My husband steak and pork was really tough. We told a member of staff who offered us something else. Which we didn't have the time to take up the offer. The manager came over to us, he said he had checked our meal and it was not of a good standard. He said the fish had to thick a batter which soaked up the oil and steak etc was tough. Also which l could not understand was with my continental breakfast there was no cheese or ham etc only tin fruit, a toffee yogurt or low calorie yogurt and a couple of very small pastries. My husband cooked breakfast was very good. I had paid up front for my breakfast so it was very expensive for what l had. The receptionist said she would speak to the manager but have not heard anything back yet. Such a shame as we have often stayed in Western hotels. And feel disappointed.

Positive experience: I might not be used to British hotels but I’ve been surprised by the quality of a 4 stars here compared to other countries. It feels very old and average… the gym was ok and the swimming pool too. Service was good and comprehensive, and the building very good looking.

Positive experience: No fridge in the room, which was a surprise.balcony needed a tidy up.nice room otherwise. Breakfast was good for me. but my wife always wants the continental breakfast. No cold meats or cheeses,we mentioned this when leaving probably should have mentioned before.had diner both meals were not edible fish and chips. fish batter oozing cooking oil. my mixed grill steak like leather,pork dry and tough. there was no problem sending them back. manager came and apologised but spoilt part of our day.we thought the food would be good as the day we arrived we had prawn sandwiches that were very good. service was excellent.

Positive experience: A bit disappointed with my stay at the Connaught Lodge. The staff were all phenomenal and the service was excellent, but it must be said that the hotel has probably seen better days. The interiors are in need of some serious TLC to justify the prices being charged. For example, the carpets throughout the hotel need cleaning (or even replacing), and there was noticeable damage to furniture and walls in various locations (ranging from minor chips in the wood to a £1 coin-sized hole in the wall in a hallway). Overall, the place just felt a bit shabby and not exactly what you might expect from a 4-star hotel, though it definitely has potential to improve.

Fantastic experience: Attended a family wedding here. Everything absolutely perfect. Food delicious and nicely presented. Staff looked after us extremely well. Stayed the night in a lovely room and had enormous breakfast. We had use of the spa which finished our wonderful stay off here.

Fantastic experience: Being a travel agent, i find gems and boy we definately found a lovely place at connaught lodge. Lift served. Clean facilities, breakfast was lovely. No problem to ask for well done eggs. We was able to eat inside and outside. Staff polite. We didnt use the bar. Need to fix steam room so that it is hot. We did use jacuuzi and sauna wow, relaaaaaxing. Parking was a good price. Please note that wgen you check out at 11am you need to remove car from offsite by 1pm. For a bank holiday i got a great price. Please also note that there is always wedding receptions going on and some doors are locked, meaning you have to walk long way round especially if they using the garden. This is not good if you have mobility issues. The best bit is the whatsapp service. #thankyou #room231

Negative experience: Good location, but that's about it. Diamond customer and didn't even get a nice welcome. Rooms are really old looking and not overly clean. Breakfast was mildly warm and not great. Floors are creaky and walls very thin, lots of noise. Used to much nicer best westerns and would stay here again.

Fantastic experience: We stayed in a Suite for the weekend for our Ladies Festival. The dining room was dressed perfectly. The food was exceptional as were the waiting staff. Our every need was catered for. We are certainly looking forward to our next stay.

Positive experience: Nice hotel, very convenient. Great breakfast. Last year, we booked through an agency so our rooms were so small, so this year booked direct and had much better rooms for the same price !

Fantastic experience: We have just come back from a two night three day spa break. Cannot praise the friendly staff enough from initial meet at front of house to the bar staff, the spa staff through to breakfast staff. Especially Andrea, Noah and Ram/ Rav. They were so attentive during breakfast sittings. We would definitely stay again. We stayed in the Orchid suite and found it clean, warm with view of small garden area from balcony. Huge comfortable bed and pillows. Furniture was a little dated but we felt that gave it a nice retro feel.Again would recommend

Fantastic experience: We would give Service more than 5 stars if we could. Stayed for 2 nights for a family wedding. The staff, every one of them but particularly Maria and Kevin were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and they really did go ‘over and above’. Food was excellent too. If you are considering this as a wedding venue you couldn’t make a better choice. Lovely rooms, spacious but still cosy and welcoming.

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic stay here. The staff were all very friendly and attentive and made us feel incredibly welcome. There were too many lovely interactions to mention any names but you were all just brilliant. The breakfast menu was outstanding, you really couldn't ask for more. There was a wide choice of places to sit and relax in the restaurant and bar areas and a lovely terrace to sit outside. Our room was newly refurbished, very clean, smelt good and was very well serviced. The spa and pool area was perfect too with a lovely pool, sauna, steam room and hot tub. We treated ourselves to a massage (be sure to book as it's very popular and we only just got in on a cancellation) which was just heaven. One of the best if not the best we've ever had. We also had afternoon tea which again was great value and very yummy! It was also incredible value and just all round ticked every box we had for a mini break away. There's also lots of nearby food options and a stunning beach all just a few minutes walk from the hotel. It was so good we really didn't want to leave and we hope to come back again!

Positive experience: I booked a night away for myself and my partner for valentines day. We booked the Tulip Suite and were pleasantly surprised by the bathroom. However, the living area did have some white stains over the carpet and under the living chairs and table were soaking wet which meant we were unable to really utilise the living area. I called down to reception who sent someone to look at the floor to see if there was a leak/spillage and they werent sure either and explained the hotel was most likely full and couldnt really do much about it. The doors were also locked which meant we couldnt enjoy the juliette balcony. We also booked the spa facilities which I found really good value for money and both my partner and myself had treatments but seperately. The spa rooms itself were lovely but the ceiling to the pool/sauna rooms was a little broken and due to the condensation over the lounge chairs I kept getting water dripped on my face. The gin bar was great, and good value for money. The only thing I will say is the website says that suites are given a reserved parking space, but no mention of cost. When we got to the hotel we were charged for parking. Overall, it was a nice experience, however I did find that there was little apology for the problems in our room, nor did anyone attempt to rectify the situation. I would love to return for a minibreak again for a little spa retreat but would maybe check out the room first

Fantastic experience: This was our second time within 6 weeks that we had high tea. We have had many high teas... The Ritz and Savoy etc and this one is at the top for me and my family. Well done! Amazing fresh sandwiches, cakes and the scones are the best I have ever had. Perfect afternoon out

Positive experience: We always reserve 5 stars for outstanding so this was top marks. We had the afternoon tea which was delicious. I personally am not an afternoon tea person I like my crusts on but they may of changed my mind personally. my friend adored hers and everything was eaten. Quite filling for afternoon tea. The cakes were fresh and very well executed a million miles away from me kiplings petit fours :-). Everything fresh and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: We stayed for a 3 day New Year’s Eve break 30th December to January the 2nd From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the service was impeccable. The receptionists we met during our stay were friendly great customer service and were ablaze to deal with any queries we had. The accommodation was superb very clean and daily house keeping service. The housekeepers were very proficient in their duty. The food was fantastic all meals but the New Year’s Eve gala 5 course dinner was really special. The whole evening was a success including the Scottish piper and drums. The New Year was beyond our expectations and we will be returning this coming year The waiters and bar staff very friendly and helpful. If you’re going to Bournemouth for a break no matter what time of year you certainly can’t go wrong by booking the Connaught Hotel Bournemouth.

Positive experience: Visited hotel between Christmas & the New Year with family for an early evening meal. Car parking very acceptable in downpour. The immediate impression upon entering was a very classy Christmas tree & general decorations. The staff were very obliging, our meal delicious & we were able to check out the pool area for another time! A very pleasant evening thank you Connaught Hotel.
