Negative experience: I like the gym but since I trained at this location is never been hot water in the sink men change room, I can't believe it.i need to wash my face with this weather on the could water

Negative experience: Sometimes go after shifts - other pure gyms are a tad better to be honest - this one tbe equipment is very much lacking - on the leg extension I’m doing maxing out on this , perhaps it’s the plastic cable used ? Other gyms that have iron plates I don’t max out …. No safety bars on squat rack for some reason - say for pin squats , if your advanced in the gym it’s not the place to be - it is ok for accessory day in training I’d say or in an emergency basis

Negative experience: You can't use the gym during rush hours - too many people. When entering the men's locker room, there is a musty smell. A paid machine from a previous era to measure weight, height and BMI is a shame. Additionally, she assumed that I was 115 cm tall, so she shortened me by about 70 cm. And while taking a shower, the water was turned off everywhere so I would not finish my shower. I've been there five times and will never go back. I'm coming back to Gym Group.

Fantastic experience: Good gym, I train in a powerlifting gym so I’m used to calibrated plates but that’s the only downfall. Having said that this isn’t a powerlifting gym so probably wouldn’t have them. Members were all very respectful of one and other Was a good experience for me to walk into another gym as I’ve only been in 1 gym Thanks Jimmy T

Negative experience: Good gym facilities, however, when working out upstairs there are often spin classes at peak times where the music and member of staff running the class are loud to ear-splitting. The volume is excessive, the spin classes are in an open plan room so the rest of the people in the gym upstairs have to listen to it (having your own headphones and music in doesn’t help).

Positive experience: Really good gym for the cost. It can get quite crowded upstairs in the free weights in the morning, but plenty of equipment. It’s nice to have the separation of upstairs being free weights focus whilst downstairs being cardio machines and a lot of machines

Fantastic experience: Great gym. My wife and I were looking for a new local gym in Poole, and we couldn't find anything that could beat PureGym for variety and value for money. They do miss the odd equipment, but I think that comes down to personal preference. The staff are very friendly and the venue is spacious with plenty of equipment. Totally recommend.

Positive experience: Great gym, good atmosphere, plenty of equipment and classes, not bad value for money. The odd bit of equipment requires a bit of maintenance but other than that, no complaints. I love it there

Negative experience: Used to be an ok gym, but it turned into a really bad one, equipment is falling apart, all attachments rubber parts handles are half gone disintegrated, adjustable benches aren't stable they wobble left and right. But the biggest problem is that they have a "fully retarded trainer" that yells like a mentally ill person when he gives cycling classes, plays loud music while there is already different music on, and then you have a mix of two different songs accompanied with the unarticulated yelling that you can literally hear it from the parking infront of the gym. Utterly annoying will be moving to another gym, definitely.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Thanks, PureGym
Negative experience: The hygiene standards are once again slipping in this place. The women's toilets are often filthy, with blood on the toilet seats and marks all over the doors and walls. The equipment is also extremely outdated or has been broken down for 6+ months with no replacement. Grim. Definitely look elsewhere, this place is rank.

Fantastic experience: The room is clean and well laid out.. Plenty of machines of all types available. Water is available to drink. Changing rooms are clean and tidy.. Can't see how it could get better.

Negative experience: Too hot during the summer as they barely turn the air conditioning on. Additionally, the equipment is ancient and more often than not falling apart. I imagine there are far better gyms for the same or a similar price in the area.

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Positive experience: Classes are usually great but NEED more to start at 5:30/5:45 more regularly for people who work a standard 9-5 and don’t want to work out at 7pm onwards. It needs to be more friendly for people who want to come to classes after work. This has been an ongoing issue. This makes me consider changing gyms to somewhere that fits my schedule more.

Fantastic experience: Is ok
Fantastic experience: I’ve always been skeptical of joining a gym, especially the aspect where people tell me I’d enjoy it. I’ve been a member for one week and I love it so much. The gym is a good mix of people who are really fit and those just starting out so you don’t feel intimidated by people being better than you. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Pure Gym is a good place to train. There is plenty of good equipment and space to workout. I have been training with Holly Collier for about a month and I cannot recommend Holly highly enough as a PT. Holly puts so much thought into my training both in the Gym and outside the Gym as I am a runner. Holly motivates me and encourages me to always try my best. PT sessions with Holly are always enjoyable. I have already made some amazing progress in a short space of time. Holly is clearly very passionate about helping people. Holly is friendly and highly professional Thanks Holly for bringing the best out of me and I’m looking forward to reaching my goals with your help.
Fantastic experience: Maxine runs amazing and fun classes with loads of motivation and different activities within the class so that they don't feel repetitive or boring. She is also a great personal trainer and keeps me going when I don't want

Negative experience: It's a good gym, but it's ridiculously over crowded most of the time. It's very hard to find somewhere to stretch if they have classes on.

Fantastic experience: Maxine was the instructor for my induction and learn to lift class. She was so helpful and friendly which was lovely with me never really having set foot in a proper gym for years!

Fantastic experience: The gym has a decent amount space, plenty of equipment. Bit of a nightmare being surrounded by restaurants and fast food, but that helps practice another discipline. I take all the classes I can fit in to my evenings. They're my absolute favourite and the best way to unwind after a long day at work. Emma, Shaun and Maxine are the PTs who's classes I attend the most. Emma was my inspiration and motivation from the start of my membership at Pure Gym Poole. She not only led her classes but joined in, which inspired my secret personal challenge to not only match her in reps and weights in the class but also exceed her. You can tell she has a wealth of experience and knowledge, her classes are quality, intense and for me were ultimately the most rewarding. I saw the most progress in my general fitness and my physique since I was in my 20s. Shaun is unique, very funny, encouraging, supportive and consistent in his teaching. He takes extra steps to ensure people in the class are working out safely and with quality movements, he offers alternatives to cater to areas of weakness or injury. But ultimately encourages and motivates to push through and build stamina. He even remembers to check in with you on different days to see if you still have the injury and need alternatives in the class, which made me believe he has a genuine care for his class attendees. Shaun give visual and verbal promts throughout the class to remind people to focus on the quality of the move we're doing. You can't be in one of his classes without working up a sweat and having a laugh. I look forward to the energy he brings to his classes everyday. Maxine is a joy to be around. I'm so impressed having watched her progression come on in leaps and bounds since she started teaching classes. She's always had a positive and fun attitude, she's also very present. She gives great guidance and instruction during the class, gives verbal and visual prompts to ensure people are lifting weights and doing moves safely and correctly. Maxine has really helped encourage class attendees to push through their limits and start progressively increasing weights which has really paid off. Many of us in some of her classes have been able to nearly double our weights. It's very encouraging knowing the teacher has faith in your abilities and gives you the prompts and opportunities to try. Having a PT who's able to give quality workouts, with clear instruction, encourage progression but doesn't forget to promote awareness for safety over quantity and cares for areas of weakness or those who have injury and is able to connect on personal levels with their class attendees is an asset to any gym. PureGym has at least 3 and it's been a pleasure training with you all.

Negative experience: Aircon is always broke or switched off. Gym is filthy from the toilets/changing rooms to the equipment. Filthy sinks, machine covered in dust. You can't expect everything perfect for the cheap membership price you pay but there should be a basic level of hygiene maintained. The place needs a deep clean then for the cleaning to maintained on a daily basis it's that simple.
Fantastic experience: Attend Maxine classes regularly which are brilliant. Maxine is aways very welcoming and makes you feel at ease throughout the session. Thank you

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy my classes at Pure Gym Poole. The PT’s are creative and make the classes fun as their personality is always reflected in the workouts. Emma, Maxine and Shaun are my favourite PT’s and are the main reason I book onto the classes. They always push and encourage everyone to work harder. Shaun always corrects your form which is really helpful as you learn and improve from it. I would recommend Pure Gym classes to everyone.

Fantastic experience: If you want a gym where you don’t walk in and feel judged or scared to try new things, this is the place to go. Shaun in particular stands out amongst the PT’s in the gym - his classes are always high energy, fun but he also gently makes sure form is correct where he can and checks in on the regulars off his own accord, whilst making any newbies feel 100% comfortable too. Can’t thank him enough for making me look forward to the gym

Fantastic experience: Didn’t think a spin class would be my thing, but Maxine makes this class so enjoyable. She makes you push harder than you thought you could and drives you to better yourself.

Fantastic experience: A few months back hated the gym. Started doing the sweat and the combat class with Maxine and now it’s something I can’t miss weekly! Lush PT , super encouraging even if she makes me do bloody burpees

Positive experience: Great PTs and love the classes! Particularly Gerard (Bootcamp and Strength) and Maxine (Sweat and abs) - always make it fun. Gerard puts a lot of effort into planning the bootcamp sessions. It is noticed and appreciated by regular participants of his classes. Not a full 5 stars just due to the air-conditioning that hasn't worked in the studio the whole time I have been a member - over 3 years! Classic Pure Gym.

Negative experience: This gym needs to ban phones , impossible to get a work out done because most people are sitting on their phones holding up machines , so frustrating when you have to wait whilst they eff around on social media

Fantastic experience: There are all that you need for different training. My training is based on mobility and stretching the most, and this gym offers a nice studio to do that. The space is well organized. The shower could be better, but everything is clean, and it is ok.

Negative experience: Puregym is a scam, they take your money without any way to cancel it. Many more reputable gyms out there

Positive experience: I do like pure gym but at times it can be extremely busy which I know can't be helped. There are four rowing machines which I like to use, two don't work and one the foot strap is broken, so only one can be used. Equipment needs to be checked more often. Other than that I'm happy with where I work out.

Negative experience: Come back to this gym and after my first session I lasted 30 minutes before getting frustrated by the fact that it’s used as a social gathering for young teenagers. To top it off the staff let it happen and never move them on. I was waiting for a specific machine for a good 15 minutes during that time the person done 2 sets of reps and just stood having a joke with their mates. When I asked if they were done all I got was a no. I would ask the staff but yet they are also having their own social gathering. Think I’m going to stick to early morning sessions. Wouldn’t recommend anytime after 3pm.

Fantastic experience: Been in this Gym since Aug 2021. Equipment selection is good, but the could do with a couple of more machines for the more used ones. Cleanliness not great. Good variety of machines thought and good location. Updated the review as they fixed the issues with the hot water and the heating.

Positive experience: I believe it could have a greater number of equipment with high demand. i.e. barbell bench press, all the leg equipments, pull down with seat and leg holder. I know there are variations in some cases, but it's not ideal for tracking progression, and the balance muscles recruited are different. And if one of these equipments crashes, you will necessarily have to use a variation. So I believe it would just need to invest a little in that part. It's a great gym but it wouldn't be fair to give it 4 or 5 stars as other gyms in town have more of the same equipment.

Negative experience: #updated 24/01/23 Women's changing room been freezing for a while now. Spoke to team who said it's with management, they are waiting to hear back when it will get fixed. This is NOT OK and not what I pay for. Changing to 1 star. Overall its a good gym with a lot of kit. There is a huge room upstairs you can use as well as gym floor space and equipment. The team are always really friendly and approachable, but it is hard to find a staff member. Commonly there is only one on. I was disappointed with the male workman in ladies changing room at 09:50, as I needed to shower and change for work. He said he would just be 5 mins, he was a little longer (I followed up again with him as I couldn't wait anymore) it's a difficult one, as I know they have work to do. He did come in again after that but I had finished shower & changing. He does shout, is it OK to come in, he doesn't just walk in. Leg machine seems to be quite a while out of action, and there is always one or two treadmills that don't work properly (can't change speed on side, have to use main display area), but they have a lot of kit you can substitute for something else. I wish the lockers were wider. Does anyone else find it hard to get their bag in and out? I don't like the pod doors to get in, claustrophobic feeling, and again with bag it's a tight fit. I promise, I only have a small standard gym bag. I can't bring less stuff.

Negative experience: Drains are always an issue at tower park PureGym the gym often smells of sewerage The air con is non existent I’ve only known it to be used during Julys heatwave

Negative experience: Showers still cold, often broken , cleaners walked in when I was changing. inappropriate comments being made by new instructor to young female clients. classes timetable cut as not enough trained staff - timetable needs revisiting.only staying because 24 hours seen a decline in this gym.

Fantastic experience: Have loved using this gym so far. Equipment is gd and most people there are friendly and polite, Only negatives from what ive used and done so far is its mega hot downstairs when using the crosstrainers and treadmill. The vents on the equipment don't really give great airflow.

Negative experience: Bikes and some equipment are in a shocking condition. Rusty, squeak and make clanking noises. For 7 whole days there has been a loose screw in the drink holder of one of the bikes as seen in the picture which shows they don't properly clean the equipment. I reported this to puregym via feedback and they don't seem to act on it and expect me to do something for them. People are either ducks or eagles. I'm an eagle and go beyond and ducks just quack and do nothing.

Positive experience: Lots of equipment but due to the poor air-conditioning the ground floor often smells very sweaty and the facilities are not always the cleanest.

Negative experience: Worst managment and support ever. Could no attend for a month because of problem with acces code. The only worse gym is same company in Bournemouth where 1/3 of stuff does not work.

Negative experience: Came here over Christmas and can only say I was extremely dissapointed, gym was not open the hours it said it would be on the door. They had basic equipment but was limited, due to the poor service and lack of consistency with hours advertised and hours actually open I will not be returning.

Positive experience: Useful gym, loved it so far but PLEASE, please have a surplus of sanitiser on both floors. It is a high possibility, following review with track and trace that I caught COVID here and there was maybe 1 bottle between both levels (around the evening time) - we had to use hand gel to sanitise some things as no bottles available - plenty of blue roll, but nothing to put on it to sanitise

Positive experience: Good monthly price, also offer classes. Changing rooms are cold and toilets smelly
Staff do regular cleaning checks in the gym and we have dedicated cleaning teams who come each day to carry out. Of course, during peak times it can be difficult for us to compete all cleaning routines, however as soon as it is possible our staff will complete all procedures and checks. If you have any concerns or suggestions, please speak with your Gym Manager.
Fantastic experience: Puregym tower park is always clean, and enough parking usually. The problem is though the missile tubes you have to go into to enter the gym, they are not made for broad shoulders. :/
