Positive experience: My clippers broke so went to have head shaved found them to be very helpful really good customer service,chatted well,not too much enjoyed the 20min I was there recommend if need certain services

Negative experience: It's a gym built inside of an old office building. The management doesn't seem to care about fixing broken machines such as the rowing machines, some of which have remained broken for over a year. The personal trainers and class teachers are nice. It would be good if they put a stop to the changing rooms being used by some for consuming marijuana and cocaine. I reported it to staff on multiple occasions and no action to counter this was taken.

Negative experience: Awful gym. Dirty, Overly busy and equipment broken alot. Changing rooms are disgusting, smelly, sinks broken, lockers could have various types of waste left in them. Equipment and machines broken alot. Staff are non existent, never see them. Went various times of day and always busy. Want a bench press or squat rack, no chance. Unless you just want a treadmill this isn't the gym for you. WiFi you can't get signal in lifting section. Do yours self a big favour go to the Gym group Murrayfield or Lift round the corner. I lasted about a Month.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, one of the best pure gym branches I've used. Great location and this place is huge, with alot of equipment and spaces to workout. Definetley got me going to the gym more often now I've discovered PureGym West.

Positive experience: It's decent, however for the size of the gym, and given just how much cardio equipment and machines there are, there is just far too few free barbell squat racks, only 2.(and then 3 smith machines) and 2 deadlift platforms. There is a queue for all.of these all the time. They could easily remove the machines from the free weight section given the abundance of them upstairs and stick in a good few more racks. Significantly inferior to PureGym Livingston.

Negative experience: Do you guys read these reviews? During peak times the free weight area is over populated . Upstairs all the machines are spaced out , can’t you move machines closer together and get another half a dozen weight benches there and dumbbells ??

Fantastic experience: Very good gym, very good service. My boyfriend and I had a little surprise today. He couldn't remember his pin code, so he couldn't log into the app or get the QR code. It may be due to system reasons that we cannot receive any emails from puregym. I asked Tom for help, and Tom helped us solve this problem. I really appreciate him. I think I will recommend puregym to my friends.

Fantastic experience: 2-3 of every machine upstairs, which made for a quick workout. It was well air-conditioned also and not too busy on a Saturday.

Negative experience: Free weight area far to small on busy periods. Also a lot of Asian men who don’t wear deodorant. If you want to work out smelling other mens body odour then your choice!!!!

Fantastic experience: Good value for money. Plenty of machines. DO NOT go to The Gym Group, Corstorphine which is unfriendly, unwelcoming and frankly unsafe - took them 10 mins to answer the emergency button on my last (ever!) visit there. Spend £2 more per month and actually get something worthwhile.

Fantastic experience: I love the fact that the Edinburgh West gym is never too busy, and there's plenty of equipment to use.

Negative experience: lack of dumbbells, 1 bench for chest press, but atleast there’s about a hundred treadmills!

Fantastic experience: Nice big spacious gym with loads of equipment. Can get super busy, but if you go at the right time, you won’t be waiting around for equipment.

Fantastic experience: Plenty of car parking outside, big changing rooms, cardio section, machines and free weight as well as classes section, all over 2 floors. Seems perfect for the price.

Negative experience: Rubbish. Don't go here unless you plan on waiting half an hour for the ONE bench available.

Negative experience: Severely lacking in equipment. Constantly have to search for a 20kg bar and weights of given denomination seem to be limited. With lift over the road it's worth investing a bit more money to just get a free more bars and plates

Fantastic experience: Same gym equipment and classes I had at David Lloyd for a third of the price….no distracting cafe with cakes either! Always get on the equipment as it’s an expansive gym setup. Warmer showers than David Lloyd also :-) Gym personnel give good professional advice when needed and are very friendly. What’s not to like?

Positive experience: Air conditioning upstairs partly not working. Using some cooler instead which isnt great. Clearly not intention to have the proper ac system repaired anytime soon. Ac also seemed to be totally off at 11pm/midnight not great if you're doing intense cardio. Only 1 disabled toilet available at night as changing rooms are locked i believe. Carpets upstairs look filthy. Aside from that not enough equipment for freeweights/bars/racks... and i dont even go at peak times!

Fantastic experience: Been to PureGym Edinburgh West after 2 years and the whole place got an overall upgrade! New machines as far as the eye could see! I was really impressed! One of the best PTs ever also happens to work there! Alex Jimenez! If you need some help getting that physique you crave you can always consider his expertise! But I'm sure the other PTs there are also good at what they do so just pop in and check the place out!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely great gym with fantastic facilities, spread out over two floor it boasts multiple resistance machines for all the different muscles groups along with several squat racks, dumbells of varying sizes and studios with a range of sessions each day run by fully certified instructors. Whether you are a frequent gym specialist haha or a first timer this place is great for everyone, the staff are also very friendly and approachable. Has plenty of parking on site along with easy access pods for all PureGym members.

Negative experience: Been a Puregym member for years. Switched to Edinburgh West in 2020 and was really pleased with everything. 2022 and it's gone downhill rapidly: Lots of broken equipment, 2 cross trainers out of action for months now, showers have been faulty for weeks (yes I know they are due for repair next week but it's already been too long!). A few weeks ago the air-con started blowing warm air. And these days it's switched off. I can only assume its gone the same way as the treadmill that lies there in pieces pretty much summing up the place. The staff are really friendly and a credit to the company. But the management seriously needs to have a word with itself. I'm off to another gym.

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually write reviews but I thought it is worth on this occasion seeing the big input of the team of Pure Gym Edinburgh West in making this place being very friendly and great to achieve your fitness goals. I have been before the member of Virgin and different gyms and have to say Pure Gym Edinburgh West is not lacking of any of qualities of more expensive Gyms apart of lack of swimming pool etc. Of course it compromised with the price of monthly subscription. I really enjoy working on my own and never had to wait for any equipment yet and classes are top notch , involve hard work but trainers make sure it is fun and they give lots of encouragement. The management always takes time to stop and have a friendly chat . And most importantly it is very clean . I would highly recommend this gym.

Fantastic experience: Two quite large floors, most of the machines are available at least twice, so you usually don't have to queue for the workout you currently want to do. Large parking space but surprisingly only a few bike racks outside.

Positive experience: The best gym in the locality with ample parking. The gym spans across 2 floors with as many equipment as possible to accommodate a crowded time. Only downside is its hard to find what sits where for initial few days.

Negative experience: This is where gym motivation goes to die. No vibes at all. Music is so low, there is no atmosphere. It’s also cold in the weights section. Terrible in the winter. Poor layout as it’s all on different levels and sections so very difficult To switch up and move between training styles. (Unavoidable as this used to be an office area)

Positive experience: Good gym. One thing hard to understand is the changing room is closed between 12 and 5am although the gym is open 24/7. Not a great policy. But it shouldn’t matter for the majority, plus the gym staffs seem to be keen to help you.

Positive experience: Only went once but was a good gym

Negative experience: Great price, that’s about it. The gym is filthy, there is black rings on the floor around the cleaning stations, the weights are black with dirt around the grip ( they need more than a wipe down with blue roll and sanitiser, they need a good scrub), exercise ball is supposed to be silver but is brown with dirt. Not enough equipment, only 4 benches upstairs and people hog them for 30 mins or more, even when not using them. Plenty machines for legs but only one of each of arms. Equipment is often broken or missing parts, and generally very tired. The only staff you see about are the personal trainers, no staff wondering around checking on things or helping people. The shouting from the spin room is really off putting along with the two different kinds of music playing at the same time. Other PureGyms are much cleaner and better equipped, shame this is the one closest to my house/work.

Positive experience: Not the best lay out or equipped pure gym I've used. Alot of the equipment there is only one of so you can find yourself waiting around for lots of the equipment. I.e only one bench press rack. But good changing room facilities and kept clean. So overall okay experience
