Negative experience: It is crowded except friday and saturday

Fantastic experience: I have been to Gravesend pure gym and Sheffield is best in cleanliness , maintenance and bathroom hygiene . Keep it up.

Negative experience: Nice gym but why is there nothing to clean equipment with. 1 empty spray bottle and empty paper towel machines. Puts me off wanting to go to the gym as all the equipment must never get cleaned. Instructor didn't even get the class to clean stuff at the end of the lesson

Positive experience: It's just always very busy, but good selection of equipment, free weights, cardio etc

Staff are friendly and helpful, and there is always someone there to help you if needed. Situated just outside the city centre, its location is easily accessible for tram and bus users. Car parking onsite which is safe and well lit. Best gym i have been to

Fantastic experience: Just finished 2 booked classes with pure gym as a first timer. 2 amazing trainers at Sheffield gym South offered encouragement and instilled confidence. The trainers showed precise and easy to understand examples of the exercises. I left them both feelings really confident left feeling better than when I started! Couldn't recommend more.

Positive experience: Facilities as expected but the cleanliness was appalling. I took one of the classes in the studio (that consisted of two walls that were about 2.5m high separating you from the main gym but that didn't stop you from hearing nearly every conversation happening in the main gym) I noticed a thick layer of dust on the weights that looked like they hadn't been cleaned in over a month. I pointed this out to the member of staff who was taking the class at the time and they stated they would pass on my comments. According to the member of staff it's an external company that does the cleaning and not pure gym staff. The class was well orchestrated though. The before photo was before I wiped one finger through the dust to see how thick it was as shown in the after photo.

Positive experience: Recently got new treadmills as the previous ones were on the blink (constantly breaking, speeds not correct) which is fantastic. Part of this renovation saw a lot of bikes being removed and made space for a few of the weights machines to move into the cardio section of the gym. Makes the gym feel a lot bigger. One issue I have with this gym is ventilation, benefits from massive windows but no fresh air at all. The aircon, even in the height of summer, is barely on & creates a smelly, sweaty quite disgusting environment in all honesty. The air con vents are focused in certain areas of the gym i.e. certain treadmills are more suitable for running than others because of this. They really need to look into the ventilation as it's a common occurrence you walk in & greeted by a sheer wall of body odour. You can get memberships for as low as like £13 a month so can't really complain. You get what you pay for - offers cardio & weights equipment with all classes included. Pretty good value.

Negative experience: The smell was unbearable, I thought it was coming from one person then realised it smelt throughout the place. I know people sweat but this was next level. Hygiene and deodorant are important, possibly a good clean of the gym would help along with air freshners.

Negative experience: My account is suspended I haven’t done anything wrong my membership is active till September and I can’t even contact them can someone sort out my problem and get my account unsuspended because it cost me a lot of hardworking money

Positive experience: It's a good gym with plenty of equipment so you are not waiting to work out.

Negative experience: I visited this gym and was extremely disappointed. The general level of cleanliness throughout left much to be desired and it was obvious that the lack of management attention to detail was having an impact. No responsible and proactive manager would have let standards drop so far. A very poor example of this normally excellent gym company.

Negative experience: One of the worst PureGyms I’ve been to. Unbearably warm with no air circulation whatsoever. Equipment not well maintained, holes in floor, etc. But honestly the sweltering heat without windows or AC is by far the worst part about it.

Fantastic experience: A good local gym with loads of equipment. Split into two sections, cardio on the left and weights on the right. Great idea as it means you don't hear people slamming weights while you're rowing :) The changing rooms are decent. A few broken/jammed lockers but the vast majority are fine. The showers are clean and there's more cubicles than my local! I went in the morning and early afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. It's a 24 hour gym so that's really convenient. For the price, it's really good value.

Negative experience: It has a load of equipment you’ll never use and the equipment that’s useful is in scarce supply. I got told to leave for doing dumbbell bicep curls while wearing jeans from a personal trainer who’s legs are skinnier than my arms and who’s my age but looks like he could be my grandad. Toxic mindset, personal trainers are all obnoxious and have no idea how to lift. Genuinely can’t believe they’re charging people for them to teach them how to look like them when they have the worst physiques in Sheffield and don’t even have functional strength at least to compensate. One personal trainer kicked me out of the squat rack I was using 20 min before he got there so he could bounce an exercise ball against the wall in the squat rack with a client. Was the rest of the gyms wall not good enough or was it just a weird power thing to kick me out to intentionally do some garbage? Did somebody genuinely pay him 30 quid to bounce a ball? Was it because he has no power outside the gym and everyone sees him as a loser so he has to do weird psychotic things like that to make himself feel better about his sad life? Who knows but not worth the grey hairs or your money to be around these clowns

Fantastic experience: Can't complain yet, apart from gym group could value loyalty. Moved from Rotherham learned I should have been paying less than half what I was paying. The moor Sheffield gym better equipped but still pricey in my opinion, although market average. But paying the same for pure gym is laughable

Fantastic experience: Good place to train. Dumbbells well above 40kg for a change! Plenty of room, equipment in good condition, lighting overall is above average! Vibe is brilliant. Music choices not great let me plug my phone in

Positive experience: A decent gym with too little equipment for the amount of gym goers. After about 3pm almost every piece of equipment is occupied. Good value for money though and all the basic machines and cardio equipment. Needs a significant increase in the amount of kit though.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best gym in the heart of the city! Staff are all friendly which is a great bonus! They have a vast amount of different equipment for use. They have free weights and machines. A fully fledged weight lifting area and cardio area. They also host a variety of different classes to get yourself motivated to be the best version of yourself. I signed up online and downloaded the Ap for access and bookings. I also highly recommend the Yanka water.. Gotta get all those essential B Vitamins They also have vending machines available and fresh water points.

Negative experience: Been coming here 3 times a week for 2 years but sadly having to cancel and move to JD because of they won't put on the aircon. It's 25-30 outside and is way hotter/stinkier in the gym with no circulation under the metal roof. I'm surprised no ones fainted yet. (No clue how anyones manage to stomach doing cardio) Last year in summer they had it on properly and it was lovely and cool all throughout the heatwave, I assume they're keeping it off this year to save money – I honestly would prefer they charge me an extra few quid to put it on.

Positive experience: Aircons not working or not at all effective. Nice location, nice natural light in this one. Smells awful due to lack of air circulation and aircon

Negative experience: Equipment always seems to be broken for months at a time, air con is never on, even yesterday and today when it's almost 30°C! I was running on a treadmill and almost got heatstroke. The gym is a good size and there's good equipment, but the first two things make it a real disappointment

Fantastic experience: One of the best gyms in Sheffield! Only downside is that It can get really 'over' crowded at times.

Negative experience: The gym would be grand but it is far too small for the number of people that go, a portion of the equipment is broken and the remainder are missing handle clips or are missing grips. Even at quieter periods it feels cramped with people, they desperately need to expand their weight room.

Positive experience: As far as PureGyms go, it was fairly decent. You know what you're getting with a PureGym. Good range of kit, well set out, spacious. Can't complain too much as I got a free day pass. Drinks machines are a bit pricey. Two of the machines were out of order. Even on a Thursday midday it was preeeettty busy though! Lots of students.

Fantastic experience: Went to do my workout and was happy. The temperature was fine and the freeweights equipment was good and easy to use. Inside was quite clean and was not so loud. Changing rooms were easy to use and you could use your own padlock which I would recommend. Happy with my experience overall and would recommend.

Negative experience: Went to this gym for years then quit - had enough of it. Gym is too cramped, hardly any benches. Some of the instructors can be a bit funny but some are actually great and committed. Thing that lets it down most is the clientele, just couldn't handle the rudeness and lack of consideration anymore. Not a great atmosphere, feels a little threatening and confrontational to be fair which I don't get at my new gym. Plus it is true that the car park is a fines trap which I just didn't want to risk. Give JD gym a try down the road.

Fantastic experience: I visit this gym often recently. A guy approached me for my number and made me feel awkward. But it’s not the gyms fault. It’s a nice gym and I feel safe apart from that encounter. Im Muslim so I was all covered in case you’re wondering if I wore something “attractive”.

Negative experience: The fact that in the height of summer on some of the most humid days Britain has seen this gym doesn't utilise decent air conditioning is a health hazard.

Positive experience: Someone stolen my keys in the men lockor room, there is no camera here and staff no responsible, that's not good

Positive experience: I personally would like to see a pull up/dip bar in the studio as I like to incorporate floor routines with these exercises but where this equipment is currently situated there is no room to do this without being in anyone's way. Otherwise, good value for money and good location.

Fantastic experience: Great gym great price open 24 hours and I can use any puregym in the country.

Negative experience: Extremelly disaponted with no hairdryer facilities at mens changing room. Reported this. Going to gym for a week and no sight of action. Disappointment as gym is big and alot of people coming there.

Negative experience: It's a good gym, but the place is a parking trap. Park there and get a fine. Just paid up 85£ and not really into this. Finding another gym, at least if they had a pay and display, I would be able to cover myself for less than that entire cost. Not Into it at all

Fantastic experience: Atmosphere is always good, staff are friendly. Some of the running machines I thing could be maintained abit better as they bang when running on them, the speed adjustment on the hand grips don't work properly and its annoying. But it's just things that can be fixed. It's a good gym.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely hate going to the gym as exercising is genuinely rubbish. However, as far as gyms go, this one is really nice. Clean and spacious and never too busy which coming from the horrors of London PureGyms was a nice surprise!

Negative experience: I was doing first set of leg and holding two dumbbell and one the personal trainers, she just rushed to me for why you didn't put the weight back place. She didn't let me finish my set first. I don't think so they are professional trainers. What shame! It's happens again today as well 15th of May 2022. They need to learn some manners first after getting certificates for lifting weight. Her name is Sarah and her manager is Helene Garnett.

Fantastic experience: Great place for me, I'm a night owl so it's pretty much perfect, most of the people are nice, it's not too messy on the inside, sadly it's not staffed everyday so there's not much to say about them. The music is alright for the most part. Lifting machines all work, usually 90% of the cardio machines are working (some require recharging, the odd one may be out of service) but there's plenty to go round. Gym is in a very accessible spot, not too far from the train station or bus station.

Fantastic experience: If you're going to go to puregym in Sheffield, plump for this one. It's more upbeat, super non judgemental and inclusive and has amazing PTs and accessibility as it's all on one floor. Please be careful with the car park however as I parked over 2 hours and got fined £60?! Gonna speak to the manager about it and update you here. Update: 5th Feb I managed to chat with the manager and get the ticket waivered as it was not clear and not told to me. Now I know the rule, I can be vigilant as you get 2.5hrs and you're papped then! it appears the signs get stolen or vandalised from the carpark and that is why you are not informed. Hopefully clear signs stating puregym members get 2.5hrs only will go up soon to avoid this stress. Positive experience: Nice gym. Best I've been to and I've been to a lot. Only issue I've ever had is with the flavoured Yanga water running out. With the premier membership it's free and comes in varies flavours. Now and again the flavour delivered is just water. Members have to wait another 20 minutes before trying a different flavour.

Fantastic experience: Today's visit was excellent. It was everything and more than l would have expected from the gym.
