Positive experience: the gym itself is bang average however Steve on reception is great, always smiling and keen for a chat.

Positive experience: Went for a free session at the gym. Staff was friendly and helpful. First thing I noticed was how spacious the gym is. There are a few of the most used machines so didnt really have to wait. Equipment shows some wear and tear, can really do with some renewal especially the grips, which can really hurt pulling heavy weights. Overall, not the most luxurious experience but you will find everything you need at a very reasonable price.

Negative experience: It is regrettable that the current state of this gym is not up to the standards expected of an Everlast facility. The equipment is in disrepair, the pool area is in need of maintenance, and the jacuzzi is no longer functional. Additionally, the steam room is frequently out of order, and the pool is not adequately cleaned. Despite the picturesque views, this gym falls short of the flagship status it should hold. Many clients have expressed dissatisfaction with the conditions, and the management team is constantly apologizing on behalf of the company. It is disheartening to witness the challenges they face daily in attempting to justify the shortcomings. I've emailed three times to higher management and to be ignored on all occasions. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM IN SOUTHPORT.

Positive experience: Great price for memberships and has most machines you could want. Fairly busy around 3pm-7pm. Some of the machines could do with repairs, thankfully the attachments for the cable machines seem to have been replaced (they always seem to go missing). Can't comment on classes as I have a gym only membership. Free parking when registered in the gym. Handily attached to sports direct in case you forget anything, and also a shop inside with a few bits of clothing and equipment. Recommend the post workout smoothies!

Positive experience: Seriously guys how long is it going to take to sort the showers out ? I understand being out of action for a couple of days if parts or engineers are unavailable but this has now been a couple of months ! There can be no excuse for such a delay in fixing the showers. Get a grip, there are too many other gyms around for you to continue to treat the customers in such a cavalier fashion. If it continues for much longer I’m moving gyms and I know I’m not alone in thinking this having spoken with others in the locker rooms.

Negative experience: Spam call you every day if you go once trying to pressure you into signing up monthly Gym was a mess

Fantastic experience: Going to everlast gym to loose some weight I've ballooned to back to 23 stone I need to lose 5 stone or more and got induction by Dan he is a personal trainer very good advice on running machine and other equipment in everlast.from Adrian

Negative experience: Showers are freezing once AGAIN!! Not to mention that the number of equipment out of order increases more and more and none is fixed anytime soon. But the worst for me is really the showers. Paying for a membership only to find out that after my 2 and half hours workout a freaking cold shower is what awaits me when it's 0° degrees outside is mad If I wasn't tied to a contract I wouldn't stay with this gym especially now when new ones are coming up in Southport, more modern ones, gyms that are up to date and don't require you to be with them under a contract.

Negative experience: Showers freezing cold AGAIN. Leg press machine has had an out of order sign on it for a month because it rattles slightly. The guilty bolt is secured with a Nylock Nut (impossible to fall off) and could basically be ‘fixed’ with an Allen Key and adjustable spanner in about 20 seconds. Either things are getting signs stuck on them and not reported or you need a better arrangement with your repair contractor.

Negative experience: Maintenance is very bad......only one z bar for all . This is normal gym ..no advanced machine

Negative experience: Shocking state of disrepair. Out of order signs everywhere. All the benches and squat racks are falling apart, which could have been avoided if staff just checked the equipment and went round with an allen key to tighten screws. Nothing provided to clean equipment down with. Weightlifting floor falling apart. Showers are tepid most of the time. Carabiner clips on cables are either missing or broke. Prowler sled broke. I'd be willing to bet that a year on from this post, none of the above will be fixed.

Negative experience: Equipment is almost always faulty and never gets repaired. The worst part for me is that it is Winter, it’s-2 degrees outside, and 4 out of 5 days per week the water in the showers is not even lukewarm!! people have complained and nothing gets done

Negative experience: Some of the equipment is very poor quality. I left without finishing my workout to find another gym.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful helpful reception staff and excellent quality nourishment cafe is open to the public and has super chef and staff x pop in for coffee or more

Fantastic experience: Excellent value. My husband always got to dancefit with KAT every Sunday morning. Fabulous class and really keeps us going to the gym. All staff are pleasant and friendly.

Negative experience: Falling apart, awkward situation with parking, friend had to leave as was no free parking in the van. Silly weekend opening hours

Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities lovely staff

Negative experience: Decent gym but overcrowded at most times of the day and faulty equipment doesnt ever get replaced or repaired. A couple of the handles on the adjustable benches have been broken for months, some of the caribeeners on the cable equipment are broken and general equipment maintenance just doesn't seem to happen. Was a good gym when it first opened but I don't think any money has been invested in equipment since then.

Negative experience: Like a youth club. I'm not against anyone training but lots of them stand around equipment chatting or checking their phones. Staff say they can't do anything. Free parking ends at 6pm Place has gone downhill

Negative experience: Gym equipment never gets fixed, full of kids under the age of 16 sure this can't be allowed? I have tried to downgrade numerous times but staff have failed to process resulting in me being charged the full amount. 100% avoid this gym

Positive experience: I’ve always not been a big fan of going to gyms. But since joining this one & having weekly sessions with a personal trainer, I’ve changed my opinion completely. There’s so many different machines etc to work out with. It is often busy but never completely full. Also staff are wonderful in supporting disabled customers; especially those with a visual impairment.

Positive experience: Tulketh Street branch is cheep and cheerful & so is full of teenagers especially in the evenings. The Ocean Plaza branch has good quality equipment along with a good pool with two Jacuzzis with a popular steam. However the gents changing rooms are in an urgent need of repair. Both locations are kept pristinely clean and staff friendly

Fantastic experience: I needn't have been apprehensive about going back to this gym after 5 months, but going back today was a very pleasant surprise. Not only were numbers of people limited (as was the equipment) but the place was well managed throughout. Plenty of Covid procedures in place, etc. Not surprising since everyone there would be keen to look after themselves, but great to see everyone was diligent in wiping equipment before and after use. Will be back on Tuesday. Well done, Everlast!

Positive experience: I attended the gym this morning at 11.10 and was surprised to see how many were already there using the equipment. This suggests that some gym users are not leaving at the end of their designated time slot. There are far too many people in the gym which has resulted in very little social distancing. The two most problem areas in the gym are the free weights area and gym floor where gym users are working out inches apart. Suggestions are to reduce the number of gym users in each time slot; ensure that gym users leave at their end of their time slot; the two active treadmills in front of the changing rooms, should be further apart; clearly marked taped designated workout/boxed areas; proactive gym presence on the gym floor; lights on in the studio which can encourage gym users to workout in there especially during busy times and regular tanoy announcement reminders regarding cleaning the equipment and social distancing. Are Everlast able to confirm thd maximum number of gym users allowed in a session?

Negative experience: Memberships sound good at £5 or £10 a month but they dont tell you that you have to pay to cancel early and bring a doctors note,

Negative experience: Had a bad encounter with one of the PT's who was extremely rude, I approached the counter to complain to the staff, the guy on duty was nice but couldn't really help. Its only £5 a month so I don't expect more. Its good if you want a cheap option but if you want service then go somewhere else.

Positive experience: Good gym, plenty of equipment, even have a deadlift podium thingy. Clean changing rooms with enough showers etc... You also get free parking for being a member which is great. My only complaint is that you have to bring your own water, there is no water fountain to fill up. Luckily the guys at the desk will fill it up for you if you ask but it would be nice to have an ice cold water fountain for self service.
