Positive experience: Value for money, clean, lots of equipment.

Positive experience: With a full range of new equipment the Hunslet Pure Gym has gone from one of the worst to not far from first in pure gyms around Leeds. I live near Bramley so it makes no sense for me to travel to Hunslet gym every day but if I'm in the area I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Fantastic experience: Love coming here on a morning during weekdays. It's quite enough where you can use all the equipment pretty much right away. Great for when I started back at the gym and gained my confidence. Staff are always around to ask for help with a machine if you need help and other gym users are all friendly as far as I've encountered.

Positive experience: Great place nice people but can be a bit too busy sometimes

Positive experience: I do really like this gym and it’s local. The big problem is certain people who don’t know how to have a private telephone conversation. Putting phones on loudspeaker so not only can everyone hear the conversation but it is highly irritating. I’m not sure what the gym staff can do about it . Other than that the staff are really helpful.

Positive experience: Does the job. At busy times it's awful - different music blasting from different studios and on the gym floor. Not enough staff in to combat the multitude of idiots who seem incapable of putting their weights back so every visit is a tour of the gym floor looking for the weights I need.

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym with very helpful staff and we'll maintained equipment.

Negative experience: Full of steroid fuelled idiots who drive around the carpark without due care and attention.

Positive experience: Pros: • Good selection of weights and cardio machines. • Not too crowded in the mornings. • Affordable membership. Cons: • No hooks for towels in the showers, so you’re forced to hang your towel on the door. • Only one low-quality, cheap hairdryer for the entire men’s changing area. • No shower gel provided in the showers. Overall, this gym is great if you’re looking to get in shape, but if you plan to use it before work in the morning, it’s less than ideal. The changing rooms are rundown and in need of an update. Negative experience: Half the lockers don't lock or have bust locking mechanisms. No staff to support except PTs doing classes and then they have extortionate vending machines that don't even take card payment as they don't work either? For a chain of this size is say embarrassing!!!

Positive experience: It's a really nice gym with open layout and easy to find everything. The only negative is the music in there is way too loud when everyone uses headphones. Also when a spin class is on they don't turn down the main volume down and it sounds like such a racket I ended up leaving as I could hear 2 thumbing songs in my ear through my other music and headphones! I don't mind music but please just play one at a time or adjust the volumes the spin class was echoing through the whole building

Positive experience: Good facilities, diappointing that after a refurb and supposed new equipment, machines and stations are regularly out of service. No working air-conditioning throughout the summer months, so was pretty unbearable at times. The only saving grace is the friendliness of the staff. I've recently given cancellation notice so will be training elsewhere very soon.

Negative experience: Been coming here a while, music way too LOUD in gym today!!! Could hear it well over my own headphones. I don't like the music the gym plays which is why I want to be able to hear my own choice. NOT GOOD, hope this isn't a permanent thing.

Positive experience: Large gym with a wide variety of machines. Not all the machines I would like to see in a gym and limited small dumbells but a good gym nonetheless

Positive experience: I got membership really so expensive but was the gym not bad

Negative experience: There's only a single 50kg dumbbell, and the other one is missing. This morning, 21.04.24, I've wasted my time. I've been to the gym at 4:30 am, and the free weights area hasn't been available for use. The refurbished was supposed to be finished yesterday. I'm very disappointed with this.

Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE. WORST GYM EVER

Fantastic experience: Pretty big gym split into 2 sections, cardio and strength. The strengthening areas can be extremely packed between 6-8pm but other than that it’s pretty good.

Negative experience: Things has to change on this gym otherwise people will leave for good I been there for almost 7 years the last 2 years is getting worse no water in machine or tap I have to buy water to workout I'm very disappointed never experience anything thing like that before no one cares except manager Assistant

Negative experience: There's never soap in the changing rooms and there's no drinking water for a few days now and nobody is doing anything about it. Disgusting

Positive experience: Been a member here over a year. Pros- Large parking area Lots of equipment Huge spaces for working out Cons- Freezing showers Cleaning standards in men's locker room awful. Pubes, hairs, dirty footprints everywhere Equipment thats deemed faulty seems to be faulty for months. Music coming from spinning sessions deafening early on a morning @6am Nobody seems to put weights back. Huge grumble - today 16-01-24. Both water machines out of action was so thirsty working out had to buy a drink from the machine. See pics attached.

Fantastic experience: Clean gym, lots of equipment, large, spacious, air-conditioned. The gym is really worth recommending.

Negative experience: Freezing. 80% of lockers not working in changing rooms (has been like this for months). BMI machine swallowing money and not working. Various machines out of action. Water dispenser out of order. Showers at minimum temp.

Negative experience: Terrible place, filthy, not one dumbell in the right place ever, half machines are broken, rubber grips on pull up bars are ripped. Try to avoid

Negative experience: There are many lazy people who are unable to put the weights back in their place after use! They don't take care of the tools! Many people only use their phones while someone else is waiting for them! The toilet is dirty. You have a device that you have not used for more than a month!

Fantastic experience: There are packages for every level and you choose the one that suits your schedule. 247 gym... and if you travel across different cities, you can pop in to the nearest one in your new city for the same subscription. (For premium package?

Fantastic experience: Brilliant, great value for money and ever bit of equiment and classes are all you could wish for. And the app is fantastic too.

Negative experience: Visited puregym Hunslet the other day and I have to say that compared to the other puregyms I have been to, this one is disappointing. From 80% of the equipment being outdated to free weights all over the place and not in the correct place, dust all under the free weight rack, 4 machines out of order, only one water fountain which is all the way at the other side of the gym near the changing rooms, no attachments to be seen for the cables other than one rope and some handles... And not to forget there is a hight restriction upon entrance to the carpark so not great for vans.

Positive experience: Pros: Clean, spacious, excellent variety of equipment from cardio to free weights and machines, good variety of classes, plenty of lockers, lots of parking, convenient location, affordable, good temperature even when it’s hot outside, and good music when you forget your headphones! Cons: Literally the only thing that bothers me about this gym is people not putting their weights back after use - I spend so much of my workout time searching for weights which are left on the barbells/machines and taking weights off equipment before I can use it. I feel it is a particularly bad problem in comparison to other PureGym branches I have used previously. Weights are rarely in or even near their correct place and are often just dumped on the floor. I appreciate that it is up to the members to replace weights, but I feel this could be enforced more. If this issue was sorted/improved, it would be a perfect gym!

Positive experience: It's a gym, a place to loathe or love, depending on your view of fitness I guess. But it's a decent one - it doesn't smell of a sweaty locker room, the staff are friendly, so too are the customers. The equipment is decent, clean and there's usually some free (early weekday mornings our standard visiting time). But there's always the issue of planks not doing that "final lift" and returning their weights or bells to where they find them. That's hardly the gyms' fault but can be annoying!

Positive experience: The gym is large and has good range of equipments. It also has public workout sessions which is a good way to introduce people to training. Friendly staff and friendly people in the gym. The gym could do better with the cleanliness and hygiene of the toilets. At times they are in a real bad shape.

Fantastic experience: Soon as I walked in the vibe was lovely! Paul the manager is absolutely a gem, really helped me get back to the gym with more knowledge and motivation. Really thankful because it’s nerve racking when you start again. Team is friendly also.

Negative experience: It's getting worse everyday... lockers constantly broken, people vaping in the changing rooms, trainers smoking right outside the main doors... Everything but a healthy experience.

Negative experience: No regard for disabled members! Despite fancy slogans on the walls and claiming to be inclusive this is yet another gym where the access is limited for differently abled people like myself. No one cares, countless emails and I'm no further forward as to why my code won't open the accessible door on a weekend! Save your money

Positive experience: I love pure Gym, it's so big, clean and a friendly atmosphere. The classes are great, the only thing I feel needs improvement are the classes (they're great!) But need classes for beginners.

Fantastic experience: Well it's for exactly what I want. Can be left alone to train if I choose and plenty of kit there.

Negative experience: The gym is not well designed, there are two studios but they are not sound proofing at all, while you are in the weightlifting area you'll hear both studios music and trainer voice, I always ended up having a very bad headache! The walls around the studios should be at least full height! Those areas are separated just by maybe 2.5m height of wall! That's really unusual Also we went to a cycle class and the teacher was so unprofessional! We started late and we finished early. Also she went away while we are doing our class! The music went also got off a couple of time during the class. The pump class is good but the studio is too tiny or it is overbooked that I couldn't even stretch my arms without touching the person next to me. We went here just because we live very close to it and I hope with this review something could be improved.

Fantastic experience: The staff are very good there.They really do care about there clients or custumers. I was having some anxiety issues but the manager paul asked me to come see him and it was the best thing I ever did totally changed my mindset. I really love it there.

Negative experience: The vending machine stole my money and didn't give me my drink And the week previously it tried to charge me 2 times when I used my card and it didn't give me any drinks I needed sugar as my bloods were low and couldn't get a drink I could of had a fit and ended up in hospital Puregym OWE me a drink from the vending machine

Negative experience: Booked my first class today. Short notice spin class and rushed to get here and there's no instructor.. Very disappointed, given we're subject to a strike policy and pay premiums. Not impressed.

Positive experience: Gym is too small, only a small amount of machines, no decline bench press, you can only do incline bench press on the smiths machine. Changing rooms are tiny. Should introduce a boxing bag or something

Fantastic experience: PureGym Hunslet Having trained at many gyms & fitness centres over the last 20 years I’d say this chain of gyms is definitely up there with the best and more value for money. Like most gyms it will have busy and peak times usually running around peoples jobs & lifestyles. The layout is perfect from those just wanting to cardio and machine based fitness to the functional and weight areas. The massive layout gives you loads of space even when the gym is busy. Always lots of Pt’s around should you need help or advice with anything. There’s always classes running if you want to get into those. Changing rooms are always clean & tidy. I would recommend training here if it’s local to you as there are a few other PureGym’s in Leeds.
