Negative experience: It’s very rundown. We came due to a basketball tournament and the hall served its purpose but if I had the choice I wouldn’t come here

Positive experience: I've been coming for around five months now and the gym has just taken delivery of new equipment much to some members' disgust. Me on the other hand, I'm very pleased with the new machines they are smoother to use, cleaner and more up to date. I do think they have not been torqued up properly as the weights do seem light but I'm sure this is something easily sorted by the gym. I would recommend this gym for beginners to experienced gym users. There is always somebody around willing to give advice or help and nobody is judged. Great place to lose weight or gain muscle

Fantastic experience: We had a buzzy bee party here today and absolutely loved it! The inflatable slide and bouncy castle were fantastic fun, the other equipment was enjoyed by the kids and the layout was great for food after an hours play time. We were greeted by friendly staff members and one who had a birthday card for my daughter too which is a lovely touch. Help was on hand at reception when we needed it (with blue roll for spilt drinks mainly.) We didn’t feel under pressure to hurry up and we got there a bit early but staff were happy for us to go ahead and start playing. The value for money here was the highlight for me as the parent hosting I couldn’t believe how reasonable it was compared to other sport centres ! Thank you for having us

Positive experience: I go there as a non member regularly, pricing for non members is correct. The reason for the 3 stars is that you need to call multiple times for someone to pick up the phone, in order to book a Badminton court.

Positive experience: I've been an Arena gym member since around 2010. It's very good value for money for around £18.75 discounted rate. The gym equipment is varied, with everything you need for a decent workout. My only gripe is the cleanliness of the men's changing room where the showers are situated. Over the years it's gradually got worse and worse, to the point where people will leave old bottles, tissues and other unsanitary items lying around which are often left there for weeks, almost as if the staff don't check the changing rooms at all. The toilets are getting very grubby and definitely could do with a clean - the plastic panels are no longer their original white colour and are gradually turning more black with all the dirt and grime. In addition the water pipes also need checking - when you shower, it makes a very loud groaning noise and spray water outwards all the time. It's not me being fussy, it's just problems that have been lingering for years having not been addressed and have therefore worsened. Other than the general cleanliness, it's a really good gym and the staff are friendly. I would give 5 stars otherwise.

Fantastic experience: Took the kids here to play (and wear them out) on the bouncy castle and other gear they had set up. Nice big clean area with a fair bit for the tots to do. Also handy to have tables set up to give the kids snacks and drinks etc. Wasn't too busy when I went, but even if it was busier the wide space would still give a decent view to see the kids when they ran off in opposite directions

Positive experience: Reception staff really friendly. We went to a child's birthday party here and the toys/ bouncy castles were fab. Big tables for kids to have party food. Kids all had an amazing time. Only lost a star as toilets were not in great condition, smelly and poorly maintained. Can't comment on gym as did not use it. But as I said I was very impressed with the warm welcome and brilliant play facilities.

OK for small kids but disappointed with communication as a party planner I have tried to talk to them to work with them but they fail to communicate with me. Shame as they have some nice ideas for parties which could be advertised more by advertising with a local party planner.

Fantastic experience: I take my granddaughter there for her swimming lessons and find the staff there are so friendly. The pool in which the little ones learn to swim is shallow and there is at least 3 instructors there to help with the brave and the timid.

Fantastic experience: Having a great selection of classes to choose from ,great instructors(although aerobics was more of a step class) and welcoming staff I chose to join as a member . I was given a ful induction by Vad who was great giving me an achievable workout plan and lots of great advice ,he was both professional ,Curtious,encouraging and listened to the kind of plan I needed. The equipment ,gym and studios were all very clean and fully conforming with the current covid rules making it a great safe environment.
