Negative experience: Gutted with this gym Totally shocked how I was treated Member nearly 3 years, I had an injury, had a doctors note to pause my direct debits until I was healed, my friend forgot to drop in my note, I realised when I was nearly healed so went in spoke with a manager and handed her my late note from doctor, hoping to get back into the gym next week and maybe get a month or so free as 6 months of direct debits came out while I was injured, said they'd call me back and see what they could do, week goes by, I call them, they call back, & their reply, sorry no we can't give you anything but don't worry we have cancelled your membership from today Wow

Fantastic experience: Good for less active people who want to get fit.

Fantastic experience: I decided to checkout Pelhams this morning after having an absolute gutful of how dirty and unclean littledown has become and there are an influx of disrespectful members using littledown space in the most grotesque ways.. Well Pelhams I am totally blown away at how clean everything was all the stations were prestine!! Everyone there was cleaning up after themselves packing equipment away where it belongs and wiping stuff down!! The water stations there are two inside the gym both are sensory based and have there own built in filters. The mens toilet were extremely clean as well!! Also the mens changing rooms were prestine!! There are 4 private cubicle to get changed in along with I think I counted 5 private showers all with doors that you can not see through this is amazing. Where once Littledown was the leading by live centre you have raised the bar emencly!!! With all the upgraded equipment in there as well made my whole experience this morning such a positive pleasurable one. I did not venture into the swimming pool but I shall next time I am that way. My only miss would be that you don't have a sauna but everything else 10/10!! Littledown needs to take a leaf out of your book in cleaniness for sure!! Since Sharon who used to run the clean team left things have never been at that level of clean

Negative experience: Wouldn’t let us swim despite turning up in exactly the adult to child ratio they list online. Pelhams is by far the worst of the BH Live’s. Avoid this one

Positive experience: Lovely staff, clean and great facilities. However, how can a commercial gym in 2024 not have any air conditioning? Why it wasn't installed when they had the refit is beyond me, obviously an expense they didn't want to invest in. It genuinely puts me off coming to train due to how uncomfortable and unbearable it is, which long term is effecting my goals. It's a general consensus amongst the members, and the rented plug in AC units they've hired aren't doing anything. Those big windows essentially make it a green house. Really needs looking into before members start going elsewhere for a more enjoyable and safer experience.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has a great teacher for swimming through the bh live academy. The reception staff are always helpful. We also love the softplay, although small its still fun and cheap on a rainy day.

Negative experience: It was unacceptable that I had to leave because 5 little kids (male) were in a female changing room changing themselves playing and running, I was feeling uncomfortable and after reporting it to the reception they said Thanks for letting me know ??? And laughing once I turned my back? So I HAD TO LEAVE WITHOUT TRAINING! Ah, I almost forgot that they are respectful only to English clients. I have a different view of respect and rule. It is not the first time that the receptionist has been rude and made people uncomfortable, so what I supposed to do? Shut up even when people wipe in a steaming room? I hope someone will serve the same medicine one day.

Fantastic experience: Get fresh for the summer guys

Positive experience: Very clean and new gym equipment. There is a medium sized swimming pool with a smaller baby pool. Booking is advised as sessions fill up quickly. Also parking is often full so the overflow carpark is used

Fantastic experience: Went up to watch my Granddaughter in her swimclass. Had a lovely toasted sandwich and a cup of coffee after. Lovely staff, both in the pool and in the Cafe'.

Positive experience: I have only ever come for the swimming, but can honestly say it is always clean, changing rooms tidy and showers lovely and warm! The toddler pool is a great temperature too! The only downside is that I cannot take both kids with me due to their very strict adult to child ratio for under 5's which is a shame as it means I always have to go elsewhere when I want to take both kids. It hasn't completely put me off though as I am currently looking into joining just need to schedule a walk around as a few of the recent feedbacks given have made me a little cautious!

Positive experience: Shame the previos gym machines were removed, cannot use the new ones, plus i do not do treadmills etc! Some what ruined for me, because its a nice place!

Fantastic experience: Well equipped leisure centre with large pool and gym. Outdoor areas for football and other sports as well.

Negative experience: Wasn’t allowed to take my kids swimming even though I booked through the app. Kids day was ruined.

Positive experience: Visited with Littledown closed, nice feel but the pool is really small

Fantastic experience: Since it’s new fit out I have really enjoyed using the gym. I normally do classes such as spin and core, but over the past few months with the new weights and equipment I have been doing more on the gym floor. Big shout out to all the instructors that put us through our passes and deliver quality class time after time. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic experience: A good place for a swim and now with the gym being refurbished, brilliant. The cafe has a good selection of things to eat and drink. The staff at the centre are very friendly and helpful. The only thing that I could mention is the disabled parking being a bit lacking. I'm not sure the people using these spaces are disabled?

Fantastic experience: All new gym equipment and when I went Wednesday morning 10.30-noon there was no trouble getting into the equipment. Cafe very good for tea, coffee, cake smoothies and light meals. Children's soft play area looked like fun

Positive experience: Good swim at Pelhams, first time today, definitely back for more. It was good to have a separate pool for the children. I also enjoyed the amount of natural light that the swimming pool had. Only downside was that you couldn't adjust the shower temperature

Fantastic experience: I would like to say,Sarah who works in the bar/cafe is such a wonderful member of staff. She has great customer service, always polite, so helpful, she makes amazing foods and always seen being so attentive with all members of staff, especially new staff. Staff who always go the extra mile like Sarah deserve the recognition for their hard work. I visit the cafe regularly as I’m a gym member, each time I see Sarah, shes always working very hard. Negative experience: Swimming pool always full with very little chance to get in ever tennis courts always empty and still quite expensive helpless staff all wrong

Fantastic experience: So I take an autistic adult for a swim and use if the gym. The staff are really understanding and the facilities are perfect for what we need. He loves it there so that's all the confirmation I need that it's a good place to go.

Positive experience: Young girl apologised for the wait, It took over 20 mins for 3 latte coffees.

Negative experience: Booked for an hours swimming but it's not clear on the timetable that there will be classes on in the pool, so my session was cut short. Other people were also annoyed as they planned on swimming longer. I've never had this issue with the other BH gyms. £6.50 is a lot for just 30 minutes swimming, I was considering getting a membership but decided not too after this as this has happened a few times at Pelhams. Ferndown pool is cheaper and has a much better timetable.

Fantastic experience: I've only just started using this gym. Hadn't been to a gym in 10 years since leaving the army. I suffer from mental health problems but I can honestly say I see a physical and mental difference from just going to the gym! I highly recommend this place if anyone is considering it.

Fantastic experience: Went to the coffee shop here and enjoyed the most tasty coffee from good cheery staff I don't use the gymn I will be swimming there on Sundays After swimming a cup of their delicious coffee will be very appreciated

Negative experience: We paid for swimming lessons for mine 9 year old and had to move the date due to conflict with other activities, unfortunately could not reschedule on available dates and added to waiting list months go by chasing them to get him lessons, no availability , no means of refund, no one to help, go to another BH Live venue to try get bounced back, rinse repeat. CANCEL Direct Debit get immediate call as to why declined and offer to find our child a class slot. Avoid absolute taking the pi$$. Since taking money and not providing a service they have lost two birthday party bookings, 4 pitch hire and a broader family membership. Will NEVER willing use Pelhams or pay for anything there again. Enjoy your stolen subs from a 9 year old child. Edit -- rung again following this review for further gaslighting from BH live staff who failled to act on numerous attempts to get my son booked on lessons, going so far to send us to other BH Live venues only for them to send us back to Pelhams. Deluded rep believes they did everything they can to get him lessons they did not, utterly pathetic.

Negative experience: After trying to reactivate my membership for a gym and swim they sent me a password reset link which didn’t work and said there was an error so I reset that and they said they sent me an email I had to do this four times and still got no email so tried to call them and each time I called the call was dumped so much for trying to want to keep your business atrocious service!!! I can’t log on I can’t login I can’t book a swim I can’t do anything unless I have to turn up at Pelhams personally which I’m unable to do currently. I can’t believe how atrocious the online connectivity or telephone services it’s simply nonexistent!!

Positive experience: This gym is the gym I usually use, the facilities are not bad but could do with a few improvements, my main problem is lack of back machines, no preacher curl bench and the dumbells you need are always in use. The staff are great and you can usually get on the equipment you want relatively quick

Negative experience: Any chance anyone at any site actually answers the phone, when choosing any options on there is no one to speak with us. Left messages and called numerous times, nothing. Really poor service. Happy to take your money, can't be arsed to deal with you after that!

Positive experience: Nice atmosphere and the little one enjoyed the soft play. Food wasn't too bad and the coffee was nice. On a whole the place looks nice and well kitted out.

Negative experience: The swimming used to be good here. But now they have divided up the 2 pools into 6 for lessons. They have turned the temperature of the pool down so much over the last months and the showers are cold. As there are so many classes going on (6 at once) your children have to wait for the showers while shivering. Just counted 42 spectators (parents) all standing and most are unable to see their children swim. The swimming has gone downhill recently and I would NOT advise anyone to come here.

Negative experience: Do they ever answer the phones ! Go in today mid day to be told they have swimming lessons booked during school hours ? No they aren’t disabled nor were they from a school they told me. Baffled

Positive experience: I must say I have just been to the swimming pool area. Great facilities with plenty of clean cubicle showers and changing rooms. The pool is not 25m long but it is a decent one (it might be around 20m? not sure) to enjoy your swimming. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Lovely club in a pleasant location. Lots of parking available and very spacious gym. Plenty of activities available for kids and adults. Dry changing room is also spacious with decent shower facilities.

Negative experience: Was a member for roughly 2 months and I will never sign up again. The way they run the membership is awful. Never have I been to a worse gym organisation. The Classes I wanted were always fully booked. Machines not working. You have to book everything. Even the gym. You can’t just turn up and use without having booked first. I’ve never been to a gym like this before even post covid rules other gyms are not operating like this anymore. The first direct debit payment did not go out and the very next day I had a debt collection letter from a debt collection agency demanding I pay the direct debt plus the £15 for it being late. I then cancelled my contract as was on a months notice one (so glad I didn’t sign up for a year) and their terms and conditions state that if you. Cancel the contract after 1st of the month your notice is deemed to take effect from 1st of the following month. So if you gave on 2nd then technically this is two months notice. So I have to now give this awful gym another payment for a gym I won’t even use this month. I’m going back to My old gym. Membership team are not there to help you just to take your money. I will say this though the girls on the reception desk were lovely and always pleasant and helpful, so credit there where it is due.

Negative experience: Each week more gym equipment is out of action, lights flickering or blown, doors not working, café very slow service.

Negative experience: Been a member for many years but enough is enough. The gyms are falling apart. I don't think there is a single cardio machine that works properly. The free weights area is disorganised and the staff have given up by the looks of things. Finally realised how bad it was when I was invited to a different gym (not a bhlive one) and oh my god, cancelled my membership the next day and am now enjoying my training again. Bhlive have not only let me down with not maintaining their gyms that I pay for they are now making it difficult to cancel. My advice is stay away from bhlive their are much better pure gyms out there, and they are cheaper. WILL NEVER BE USING BHLIVE AGAIN.

Fantastic experience: Very punctual, very professional, very painful visit. It’s to be expected from a deep tissue massage though. Charlotte made the whole experience easier by having great communication skills throughout. Overall the experience left me feeling much better physically and I would highly recommend that type of treatment to anybody who can handle an elbow in the back.

Fantastic experience: Clean! Compared with Stokewood, this gym plus associated facilities like the loos and changing rooms is well furbished, clean and tidy. Although further away, I'm now going to use this as my main gym.

Positive experience: 1st time here booked in online and turned up for my work out. All the usual equipment cardio all working and some of the resistance machines had seen better days. But plenty of sanitation spray and paper towel to clean down.

Negative experience: Cant get hold of them by phone. Told me they're too busy to answer. I went in at weekend as work all week. Their computers don't support weekend input. Cancelled DD as couldnt get hold of anyone. They email you and tell you call them then on hold for an hour. In meanwhile charge £15 EVERY 7 DAYS FOR LATE FEES. I paid account up to date with fees, now not registering me. At my witts end!! Can't book classes as says no account. No there wants to help. The manager was too busy to speak to me when I went there in person avoid at all costs. There're so many better managed places. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Fantastic experience: Great pool and facilities, lovely staff. (Almost don't want to give it 5* and keep it a local secret - it can sometimes be hard to book the pool. Very low availability in the learner pool for babies and toddlers)

Negative experience: No one ever picks up the phone... customer service is poor, poor class availability, and the swimming pool overbooked... unfortunately i've signed up for 12 months membership, and cannot cancel it...so stuck paying for the service i cannot use

Positive experience: The centre is starting to feel a little tired and is in need of attention. Some showers not working and exercise machines malfunctioning from time to time. Very good PT sessions with James though - recommended.

Fantastic experience: One of my favourite of the bhlive gyms. The staff are helpful and friendly, there is plenty of cleaning spray and sanitiser and a good variety of machines in the gym. Plus a nice clean pool (with a slightly warmer kids pool). Good variety of classes including bootcamps on the field outside. Football pitches for hire outside and a lovely little cafe.

Positive experience: Spoke to someone who sorted a mishap booking out nicely.

Negative experience: So unfortunately have to cancel my subscription, now trying to tell me I have a 12 month subscription when pay 1 month contract disappointed, not going back to them again

Fantastic experience: Light, airy, well equipped fitness centre located in a lovely location.

Positive experience: For health reasons I use the Learner pool which is warm and about 4ft deep. There is also a large pool for Lane swimming, a gym with several classes, toning tables and a cafe. Check out there Website.

Fantastic experience: Great system in place still for swimming limiting numbers meaning you can actually find space to swim and play.

Positive experience: Just rejoined the Feel good Factory at Pelhams,Kinson. Debbie was a great help and cant wait to get back to exercising.
