Negative experience: If you want to join you have all the help in the world if you need to change something on your membership it's impossible you get directed to an app that has zero response and the receptionists can't help either. The sauna floor is an absolute health hazard with the same sludge in the water try for weeks on end and the same pee marks on the floor for weeks and and weeks. Staff are lovely in the cafe but seem to have the mick taken out of them as bless them there running around left right and center with no help. Cleaning again missed as you enter the cafe from the guy same dust under the first two chairs as you enter.....there is no hand sanitiser anyware for when walking though all the handled doors. Pictures don't do it justice I've added....and those I took three weeks ago you will find it still there.

Fantastic experience: I started at David Lloyd nearly a month ago , at first I was very anxious but after speaking to some of the staff like Lizzie behind the bar and Christopher who I had three personal training sessions with they both have made me feel a lot more comfortable and helped me come out my shell. I am now really happy here! * Almost forgot Adele she was very good at explaining everything to me and very kind also she let me know I could see her if I needed help with anything too. With the staff being nice and the facility being brilliant such as the gym I use , stream room , pools and sauna . It’s the best place for me.

Negative experience: What a disgrace. Was gifted a guest pass that would expire today and nowhere it states I need to use it together with the member. P•••y was rude and unprofessional by keeping interrupting me when I was talking mostly to say “No, no, no…” Then she said I should ask the person that gifted me the pass to send me the terms and conditions so she can prove her point (finally) and basically ask me to leave. Seemed to me a tiny frustrated jobsworth that should not be in this job if this is how she treats people or worse potential customers. Absolute disgrace of a management and staff

Negative experience: For £110 per month, you’d expect a gym area without scuffed walls and chipped woodwork, changing rooms without lockers ‘reserved’ by regulars and PTs, and a swimming pool that isn’t murky with grit and dirt at the bottom. It’s very dated, not very well maintained, cliquey, full of kids at weekends and not a particularly friendly space. Visited other DLs while away with work, which were so much brighter, more welcoming, grown up and modern. I was unhappy with Cheshire Oaks and after three months asked if I could convert my membership to a trial tenure and pay the difference, but was refused. Total waste of money. I’ve since joined a Pure Gym for £24 a month, that’s cleaner, more modern and has more equipment available at peak times. Far better value for money.

Fantastic experience: Nice place to go. It's relaxing being in the pool after long exercise in the gym. One thing I like about this gym is the music isn't so loud and doesn't messed with the music on my headset.

Positive experience: Impressive looking from the outside, potential to be equally impressive on the inside but sadly let down by lack of attention to repairs which means that toilets don’t flush, water fountains provide warm water or don’t work at all, equipment is out of use for long periods of time etc.Definitely could be managed better.

Positive experience: Recently joined, find the facilities and staff great., only negative is other members sitting on machines, not doing anything, while staring at their phones for ages when other people could be using them. Always seems worse when it’s busy as well!

Negative experience: Very disappointing experience ! No communication and poor customer service. I joined in January, initially was fine however my membership had duplicated members on it and tried to take an overpayment, numerous calls, emails no response! All their intrested in is taking the money ( wrong amount) Completely ignored! Long story short . Avoid!! I HAVE SENT YET ANOTHER EMAIL AS ADVISED!

Fantastic experience: I would like to share my heartfelt gratitude towards the staff who helped find my daughter after she went missing this week whilst at DL. Thank you for your compassion, kindness and for not stopping until she was found! She might have no longer be alive if it weren't for the oaks DL team, this might sound a dramatic comment, but to think about what could have happened to her is just absolutely awful. I cannot thank you enough for for how quickly you all acted. My daughter is oblivious to the seriousness of what could have happened, she has a hidden disability and a lack of understanding. She is unable to communicate in a conventional way, but as a family, we, have built relationships with staff in DL oaks, particulay those in the kids club and a few of the lifeguards - thank you for your kind words and for supporting our daughter always, i know you have always tried to meet her needs and be an inclusive venue. We as a family are absolutly filled with gratitued, just thank you all so so much.

Fantastic experience: Cheshire Oaks club is a really great club. What makes it what it is, is the staff. The instructors JP and Rach are second the non, always motivating and engaging and nothing is ever too much trouble. Harley who works at the restaurant is friendly and approachable all round good lad.

Only negative is a gym bro who was claiming machines he was moving to next even though he wasn't even on them yet, then decides to leave all his weights on the bars after. Perhaps an etiquette reminder for people who go there may help here.

Fantastic experience: David Lloyd has excellent facilities and I really enjoy using the gym and outdoor pool. The only real negative is the size of the towels, they should be bath towel size so they can fit properly.

Negative experience: Joined on the premise there was an abundance of kids activities. Assured this was the case by the sales manager only to find out that the clubs had an age limit of 11. Miss sold the membership and was assured by a member of management that they would refund the fees paid. 4 calls and 3 weeks later and still no refund has been actioned. Lied too. Only once I’d spoken to the G.M. Was any ownership taken.

Negative experience: They are not honest about membership terms. My partner was told there won’t be notice period after signed up for certain period of time. Now I want to cancel my part of membership as it is a joint membership, and the centralised membership team says the notice periods is 3 months. I have asked for a copy of the contract but they said have to wait for cheshire oaks to forward to central team . We have asked the cheshire oak DL manager and have left messages for their membership team and they just kept delaying the process. Be careful when you want to sign up because they are dishonest.

Negative experience: We’re a family of Platinum members, as are our friends who we come here with regularly. I’ve held off writing this because we try to support the club. This is about the shockingly poor restaurant experience. At the best of times we wait ages and at least one of our orders is always wrong. At worst, like today, there is hardly any food!! What’s going on, how hard can it be? It’s the great serving staff who I feel sorry for, they bear the brunt of the memberships disappointment that is caused by what I can only guess is poor management and a shambolic kitchen. Please make it better quickly or you’ll lose members. Update - although some elements have improved the kitchen/restaurant still doesn’t function properly. It’s as if the kitchen don’t or can’t read the notes against your order. If you vary from the standard offering in any way then they invariably ignore your request. You would think this is easy to fix but we’ve experienced it throughout our membership. We normally have breakfast with friends every Sunday and at least one order (3 of six today) is incorrect.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend this place I was involved in a road accident and ended up with whiplash in my neck. I was given a cause of physio on my neck which did help . I was seeing Conner flynn he helped me so much i want to thank him he is a asset to the company thank you Conner Len.

Negative experience: Apparently non members are not allowed to use the facilities by paying a day rate
Hi Ken, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We always put our members first when it comes to visiting our Clubs so we don’t have a day pass available for non-members to purchase but, our members can sign guests in and redeem a guest pass if they have one, or by paying the guest fee which does vary slightly from Club to Club.
Negative experience: Check your contract before signing. They can increase fees without justification at any point. £60 last year, which was allegedly due to inflation. This would make sense if the same standard of service was maintained, but lots of things are broken in communal areas, and classes were cancelled without warning on several occasions. The outside area needs looking after. Started off well and went downhill significantly in a year or so. Pros friendly staff, especially Lizzy in cafe area, and the staff in the kid's club. Decent coaches in the gym. But honestly, I'm not sure it matches the price. Edit just to add Amy H name which coach it was maybe not on here but tell the management.

Negative experience: Visited David Lloyds Cheshire Oake for the first time. No where to park. Pretty poor experience, pool was rammed with children, one lane reserved for swimming, also packed with adults trying to swim. Was impossible so just got back out after 10 mins. Jacuzzi was cold. And steam room wasn't even close to being hot enough. Waste of time. Wouldnt visit this place again.

Negative experience: If you feel uncomfortable in a gym and you’re trying to gain confidence, this definitely ISNT the place for you. Staff are rude and make you feel extremely uncomfortable whilst training. I’d visited David Lloyd in Liverpool with my friend and taken part in one of the spin classes there. Off the back of this, I decided to try it out at Chester. I’d just had a baby and was still feeling quite nervous about starting the gym again. The girl that took the class was rude and made me feel extremely uncomfortable in front of the other members taking the class. She came over to me and I explained I’d done it before at another club. She made a comment about how I’d not done it here though and then said “unless anyone is lying, we’ve all done this class before”. People from the class giggled and looked at me! My god, I don’t think I’ve been put in that position since high school! If you want to pay £80+ a month to feel uncomfortable, this is the place for you!

Fantastic experience: I have been a member at david lloyds for about a year now, i love it. the price is steeper than i originally expected but ever since i’ve been paying it has been a great experience. i wouldn’t go to any other place to go to the gym. once you’ve found the right times to go there it’s very quiet. the staff are always very friendly, they all make sure to greet you as you walk in and always make sure to say goodbye when you leave. i haven’t taken any classes yet because i am more focused on the gym. i have tried their protein shakes and they are top tier (recommended “oats so fruity”) every time i go to david lloyds i always leave happier than when i came in.

Positive experience: The club is a little neglected compared to the others. Just a few things worn down, Some staff there are absolutely exceptional though. And the facilities of any david lloyd club is always amazing from the tennis courts to the pool and spa facilities. However again these seem to always have a fault from the heat beds not being on, to the Sauna not getting hot correctly and the hot tub not functioning properly. These problems do seem to get fixed quite sharpish, However you don't expect to see this many problems happening when your membership price is as high as what it is. Bottom line is the Club is good and does have some excellent customer service. The gym overall is nice and the equipment is fairly new, However if your not looking to take up the use of the tennis courts or sports facilities. Your probably best signing onto total fitness. I However am a member and will continue to be as the main reason is I want to work on my tennis skills whilst making the use of the pool and spa facilities

Fantastic experience: Great facilities lots of equipment to suit your needs, food served here is very good too. Customer service is always very good, plenty of parking spaces available.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, very knowledgeable Instructors and PTs. Lot's of activities for the Kids. Coffee area is great and sometimes we even just go there just for a coffee. Overall great family gym with really good equipment suiting all levels of fitness.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank the David Lloyd Cheshire Oaks customer service team for the spectacular hospitality that was received this weekend. We had a very long and taxing weekend and used David Lloyd as our relaxation hub. It was just perfect. We have had the best weekend ever. In particular we would like to give Dianne public recognition for the outstanding table service received. Dianne catered for our needs in a manner that I can I can only liken to the best restaurant that I have ever dined in.

Fantastic experience: Utilising the fourteen days for fourteen pounds. Brilliant! So much to do and enjoy. Work hard in the gym then relax. Pity it is horrendously expensive for membership...no way I could afford it....☹️

Fantastic experience: I took my granddaughter to her swim lesson with my son. We then went in baby pool with my 10month old grandson. I also swam in the big pool with my 7year old granddaughter. Drinks in cafe afterwards. Thoroughly enjoyed it
