Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and very helpful

Positive experience: Giving it 4 stars because when I went there the first time the food was awful and took ages to come the last time I ate there however it was really tasty and good value. Please note it's not a wetherspoons anymore.

Positive experience: good facility clean ordered and relatively inexpensive

Negative experience: ‘Swim for all’ should be called ‘Fun swim.’ Wouldn’t bother if you actually want to swim, kids splashing each other, no consideration for anyone around them, running and jumping into the pool (an accident waiting to happen) and lifeguards don’t bat an eyelid. Need to make it clearer on their timetable or before you pay to go in that this is for children and no adults will be able to swim.

Negative experience: I have been to SB pool 3 times now during the school holidays and every time there has been “an issue”. I came with my son who’s is 11 and two of his friends. They were splashing in the pool and having fun like you would expect children to do in a pool but the staff were constantly blowing their whistle at them, shouting across the pool, telling other members of staff to come and tell them off or talking about them over the radio, which I overheard! As did another parent who was sat next to me, he actually asked if I’d heard them slagging the kids off! It’s unacceptable. I’m not sure what the staff expect kids to do when they come to a swimming pool, stand there and float?! The staff are the most miserable I have ever come across! They are not like this at Brighouse pool. They actually look like they enjoy seeing kids having fun in the pool! Also, if adults want to swim lengths then maybe they shouldn’t come to the ‘swim for all’ and maybe use the lane swimming instead of complaining to staff who then punish children for splashing about! Ridiculous

Positive experience: Good pool but busy. Staff don't get involved with kids being troublesome though. I mean being rude and swearing not just playing. They should make more effort on this to be honest.

Positive experience: Water a bit cold when entering but soon warm up as you are swimming.

Fantastic experience: Warm, friendly envoronment, nice pool and not too busy at all.

Negative experience: Small pool area, cramped walk ways and the changing rooms/lockers are less than comfortable. We paid for a swim, there seemed like no restriction on how many people were allowed in the pool and you tell people felt unsafe after a while of being crammed in. We left after 15 minutes. Freezing cold water too. We've never been back.

Positive experience: Lifeguards need to be more careful when talking badly about customers over their radios as some of the things I heard about my family and others was not great! Attitude beyond belief!

Fantastic experience: Great price for a monthly membership! Love the classes and the gym! Avoid the gym between 4-5 as it tends to be full of school kids ‘working out’ (if you can call it that…). Staff have always been pleasant, especially those in the gym. Changing rooms are generally clean but could be better.

Fantastic experience: I went to the tai chi class which was very good.parking seems to be a bit tricky but I might have missed the carpark I parked on the street

Negative experience: Appalling. I went today for Lane Swimming. On the website it said 11+ for "fast, medium and slow swimmers" and 2 lanes were allocated for people that don't want to be disturbed. We went and thru wouldn't let my 11 year old brother as he can't swim 25 metres without stopping and would be a "disturbance" to other more competent swimmers. I understand this BUT PUT IT ON YOUR WEBSITE! I called many times to check but never answer. A fun day out ruined by bad customer service

Negative experience: If you have specific queries you're unable find an answer to on the website DON'T bother phoning to ask for help! Rang several times for advice; they leave you waiting then hang up.

Positive experience: Staff welcoming, changing rooms and showers are clean. I just wish they would stress to gym users about wiping down equipment when you've used it.

Negative experience: Word of advice to management, cancel your phone subscription as no one answers the phone there. Got there and a woman with short hair and glasses abruptly saying ‘it’s closed for school only, thanks, here’s a timesheet’ like I said to her, maybe answer your phones so I could have know this prior to travelling? (Got the impression when I said that, that the phones get completely ignored) can’t be too busy as three members of staff in reception area chatting away doing nothing. Also, update the website too as it says it’s currently open for small children…

Fantastic experience: Brilliantly ran gym that I would recommend to all of my friends. I was warmly welcome by all of the gym staff and all of the gym goers, as everyone is do friendly! Dave helped me with guiding me towards the swimming pool and described, when asked, about the PH levels. Nobody overly intimidating like you'd in a few other gyms. And the weights were of great size. The changing rooms are very discreet and all of the locks are of working order. Will definitely tell the family. Was pleased to see the showers had soap :) There was enough soap. I respect the no diving signs, makes it very clean and obvious of the rules. See you on the next gym session.

Fantastic experience: Go for the gym and classes. The gym is good the classes are great. We go from 10am to noon on weekdays when we can help it. Usually plenty of space to get around to all the equipment.

Negative experience: Disappointed to hear that they wouldn't let my Auntie Peggy take her guide dog into the pool last week - even though she offered to pay - its far too cold to let an animal swim.in the canal this time of year and not safe for for either pet or owner .

Positive experience: Excellent swimming pool, changing facilities. Wish staff would ensure swimmers had showered first, its sickening swimming through all that cheap/expensive perfume.

Positive experience: Hot! Great staff training the little people. Sign saying take your outside shoes off which I and a lot of others did but not everyone and I stood in a big dirty puddle that has come off someone's outside shoes/trainers. Needs to be enforced or sign taken down.

Positive experience: Not overly crowded friendly helpful staff parking usually good don't have to wait for machines or weights too long mixed age groups and good mixture of Male and female plenty of different classes and with people on holiday plenty of spaces for most of the classes

Positive experience: Went with my 9 year old yesterday. As I was getting out Her head was pushed under the water and she couldn't get up she tried to shout for help but I couldn't hear her and neither did the 3 life guards. Wasn't until I saw and grabbed her and put her on the side she was having a panic attack that the life guard came. She was lovely trying to calm her down and telling me what to do but I struggled to hear her because the music was so loud. If the music wasn't so loud me and the life guards would have heard her. Luckily I turned round when I did and saw her.

Positive experience: It's shocking really!!! What with the prices of memberships, the contract tie in or the costs of pay as you go....and yet upstairs in the male changing area there are (as of today) a total of 6 lockers 'out of order', and have been for some time, and the gym equipment often out of order or in need of servicing. I understand Calderdale are at the mercy of the equipment provider for repairs, but come on..!!..their service is rubbish - change providers who can offer a decent aftercare service within a reasonable timescale. In my opinion, if its a gym you're after then there are numerous around Halifax that are better value and better equipped, with no contact tie in.
