Fantastic experience: Great gym, loads of weights, great customer service

Negative experience: Pool is very cold. Not really appealing for kids. Avoid. Parking spaces limited to 100 and always full any time. Classes are orientated and very organ organisational.

Positive experience: It's OK, needs newer equipment. Staff are lovely!

Fantastic experience: A surprisingly large building with a fully equipped gym, swimming pool with sauna and steam room and a large number of multi-purpose rooms that seem to cater for many different uses - dance, yoga, tai chi, exercise classes for the older generation.... many different options on offer.

Negative experience: Been attending this Gym for over a Year. 3/4 times a week Went this morning. No Toilet Roll in Ladies toilet in the changing room. Music in the Gym really Loud asked at Reception for this to be turned down,,. Around half the equipment is out of order ! No Staff in Attendance (This Gym has went downhill rapidly l) Attitude of Reception/Management staff appalling Not sure if I will ever go back !

Negative experience: Fairly nice leisure centre which was unfortunately let down by a few things that can easily be rectified. Firstly the lighting in the sports hall was shocking. Definitely needs an upgrade so the space can be used to it's full potential. Secondly the grounds were very poorly managed, the amount of litter was terrible and it needs a good pick, especially before the grass is cut again. Otherwise you will have a bigger job to do if it all gets chopped up by the mower Worse still was the amount of broken glass just outside the sports hall. Surely you must do a daily grounds check, making the site as clean and safe as possible is a small thing, however it makes a huge difference.

Fantastic experience: I've been attending Carluke Leisure Centre for 8 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I have 3 children and used their creche to put my children in whilst I do a work out. The creche is the best part of the facility as the staff that work within it are 2nd to none. Helen, Charlotte and Marion are fantastic with all my children and the other wee ones attending. Ive never met such professional, hard working and caring women. Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: The cost of membership isn't in line with the tiny size of the gym. I was hoping to use the pool before work and the gym after work, assuming the pool would be open at the same time as the rest of the leisure centre. However the pool doesn't open until later and is blocked out for swimming lessons every day at the times I'm available to go. The gym is tiny as I said and is always overrun with teenagers. I wouldn't have an issue with this if they were actually there to work out. Instead they take up all of the limited space in the free weight area while posing in the mirror and generally just socialising while sitting on machines they aren't actually using. The very few who are actually working out usually bring along some teenage girls to show off to (who are also not there to exercise). Again, I wouldn't have a problem with teenagers using the gym as a youth club but it's so small that the gym really can't afford the space for this. And I can't justify paying more for a membership here than I would in another larger gym with more/better space and equipment for almost half the price. I chose this gym as it is very close, but I'll need to start looking further afield.

Fantastic experience: Love this Leisure Centre.The staff are friendly, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The Centre is well kept and clinically clean and I feel safe when I attend a class. The others who attend the classes I go to have made me feel very welcome and I always enjoy their company. The instructors make it fun and I really look forward to attending.

Positive experience: I only used the cafe so can't comment on their leisure facilities. The cafe is small but the food and service was very good. The staff were most helpful, courteous and friendly. Lots of establishments could learn from a visit here. Plenty of car parking spaces in a dedicared car park. Easy to find on the edge of Carluke town just off Carnwath Road.

The cafe is very reasonable priced and the food is lovely my only moan is that the cafe was not open long enough.. Maybe look at this for when there are big events on
