Positive experience: I am deeply disappointed by the unprofessional and shockingly rude behavior of one of the staff during my recent visit. I have a 9-year-old enrolled in swimming lessons, and I typically wait in my car, working quietly on my laptop, as I am fully within my rights to do based on the terms and conditions. The policy clearly states that parents of children under 8 are required to remain inside, which does not apply to my situation. However, when I explained this to the staff member, she responded with outright hostility. She not only disregarded the policy but almost shouted at me, making unwarranted and offensive remarks about my parenting choices. Her behavior was unprofessional and completely uncalled for, especially toward a parent who was calmly clarifying a legitimate concern. This was my first experience here, and it has left a lasting negative impression. My son participates in many activities throughout the week, but I have never encountered such rudeness and lack of basic respect from staff anywhere else. This experience has made me seriously reconsider our choice of this facility. Update: After my initial complaint, Gary, the manager, reached out to discuss the incident. He was genuinely apologetic and assured me that he would address the situation directly with the staff member involved (Chelsea) through a one-on-one meeting. I appreciate his professionalism and the thoughtful way he handled my concerns. Today, I returned for my son's swimming lesson and was glad to see the receptionist, as always, friendly and welcoming. I believe I may have seen Chelsea in the club’s café, though I can’t be certain it was her. I hope the staff receives adequate training on how to treat customers respectfully and is reminded of the club’s policies to ensure clarity and courtesy in all interactions. In light of Gary’s response and the improved experience, I’ve adjusted my rating from 1 to 3 stars.

Positive experience: Good equipment but lots of tlc needed, such as broken lockers, air conditioning that continually leaks, machines out of order for 5+ months, plus the slowest water fountain in the world! Hours for teenagers are very restricted and the changing rooms and general areas get filled up with children having swimming lessons most afternoons evenings. Staff very friendly and helpful though.

Fantastic experience: Was staying at local Premier Inn and this gym was perfect after a stressful day. They did charge £6 but it was well worth it since I was only staying a couple of nights and PI don't have gyms. Staff were very helpful.

Positive experience: Went to cafe, really lovely but noisy.

Negative experience: Facilities generally good, but I had a very poor experience with this gym when it came to trying to cancel my gym membership. Their sharp practices are quite frankly appalling and somewhat suspect. I was utterly shocked at their poor approach and attitude towards customers. Best avoided by a large margin.

Positive experience: Used cafe card only so no cash. Limited choice and quite expensive. Friendly to a point

Fantastic experience: The facilities at Parkwood Salisbury are top-notch, with a wide range of equipment that caters to all fitness levels. I had a problem with their app, due to a communication error, I was promptly assisted by Sara Rawlinson, very attentive, polite and committed to resolving the problem. Incredibly knowledgeable and ready to assist! Atmosphere is motivating and welcoming, making a good experience. Highly recommended!

Positive experience: All installations is cleaned, staff empathetic, helpful and smiling, nice swimming pool and bar. Could improve somethings like some divisions in the swimming pool like “fast lane” for people who really wants to swim fast and “normal lane” for people who want just to play and enjoy. Also can change the workout area, taking out some treadmill without use and adding machines for back like “Lat Pulldown” or “Cable Row”.

Positive experience: Wonderful staff and equipment and facilities. My only gripe is that so many people finish their exercise on a piece of equipment and they stay on their phones resting when others are wanting to use it so lots of time can be wasteful

Fantastic experience: Been to most gyms in Salisbury and this one is easily the best. Although more expensive it offers a much better environment, lovely swimming facilities and the bonus of the Wood Bar. Top marks!!

Fantastic experience: Parkwood is by far the best gym in Salisbury! The best facilities, friendly and helpful staff and just generally a lovely family feel. The equipment is new and always kept up to date. The pool is lovely and the swimming lessons that are run by PW are an asset to the club. Always greeted with a friendly face at reception and the staff are always knowledgeable and happy to help! 5 star ⭐️

Negative experience: Generaly very crowded, one machine per type and small free weight area. Class areas seam like a focus point for the gym, which take alot of the space. Would not alow guest pass to try out, so now Im stuck with a 12 month subscription which I somewhat regret. Pool is good and changing area is nice enough. Food bar is also good. Got charged 20£ same day when the monthly charge did not go through, was not able to pay same day another way and customer service never got back to me.

Fantastic experience: It's probably the best gym in the Salisbury area. There's a 20m pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub and a really well equipped gym with cardio, free weights, resistance machines, and 3 studios.

Positive experience: Nice club. Well equipped and clean gym but soulless. Ok for a quick workout but not a place I would like to train regularly

Negative experience: Well I just drove from Tesco after work I was really looking forward to using the new pool area and steam room.. it STANK of bleach on way in.. and then was greeted (well not really smiled at) by one older man (claimed to be only staff member on reception) was dismissive from the start and very rude/ unhelpful.. he said they "don't do day passes you'd have to be a member" with a blank face and atritude. That does give them a bad rep for the way he spoke to me. Reception staff should be extra helpful and nice to you no matter your age, sex or race... I don't think il be joining just to be playing endless mind games with a nance.. very disappointing!! Don't bother

Negative experience: I am sorry to have I have to give parkwood such a bad review, which is a shame given that the staff were all initially very friendly and the facilities are generally good, however they acted very poorly when I tried to cancel my membership. I emailed a few days before the end of the month and cancelled my direct debit to ensure the money wasn’t accidentally taken. However, I received a response AFTER the next month started saying that they needed one months notice before cancelling, which was okay, so I owed the extra money for the next month. However, I also apparently owed an extra £20 admin fee due to cancelling the direct debit and as the payment didn’t go through automatically. I was very disappointed as this could easily be avoided and feels very much like a blatant scam to squeeze more money from an already extremely expensive gym. Due to the circumstances of them not replying in time I asked if this could be waived, but they kept taking days to respond and refused to budge. It is just a disappointing result for an otherwise nice gym

Fantastic experience: Been a member of parkwood for a couple of years now and absolutely love it here. Friendly and welcoming staff, access to some great equipment and services. Great variety of classes. Would highly recommend! Best pool is salisbury too!

Positive experience: Great Gym and Swimming pool, sauna,steam room, jacuzzi. All the classes are free after Membership. They have a lovely coffee shop in lobby too (Wood Bar) and a hairdressers. Staff are very helpful and very friendly.

Negative experience: The actual firm Parkwood leisure are really bad to deal with they never get back to you ,and don't listen to there customers.

Fantastic experience: Thanks, Team Parkwood! I have been going to Parkwood on and off for years, and when I am in the country, I always head back in. The Precor equipment in the gym is top-notch! The current icing on the cake is the access to the sauna in tandem with cold shower exposure for alternating heat and cold shock use. Wim Hof would be proud of Parkwood!

Positive experience: Poor, needs to up its game, I use this gym early in the morning and the changing area is regularly dirty and not cleaned from the night before. Flys in the shower area and very smelly. (These are being upgraded at the moment although they will of been shut for several weeks by the time they open again in mid December.) Treadmills tend to stop half way through a workout, the sauna is very rarely up to temperature. It's very disappointing. On the plus side the staff seem very nice and helpful, up the cleaning and upgrade the kit and this will be amaizing.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, the staff are super friendly especially Gareth(hope thats hus name) on the front desk. Machines are in good condition with nice secluded areas to exercise. Pool was the cherry on top. Would recommend !!!!!

Negative experience: I phoned up to cancel my membership. I was advised to cancel my DD. I did this. I then got an email saying my subscription was over due and I owed them my membership and a £20 fine. I got in contact with them to resolve and told I need proof I cancelled. I advised I called on my work phone and will request my call log from work. They then put another £20 fine onto my account despite me contacting them to resolve. This is disgusting. I understand if I hadn't contacted them about the "outstanding money" but I did and we were trying to resolve. But also why keep adding on £20?? This has caused me alot of distress because of the cost of living and me being disabled.

Positive experience: I came here today for a spa day with Jashair which was amazing, however, this also includes one hour in the pool/sauna/ steam room. I didn't expect half the pool to be closed off due to a kids class taking place but I was more put off by how dirty the floors were so I'd glad I took some flip flops and I'd recommend those for anyone else wanting to go.

Positive experience: Good facilities, mens shower room needs a very good clean and to have the floor guttering looking at. Definitely wear something on your feet!

Fantastic experience: All I can say is wow! I am so happy that I rolled out of bed this morning for my first Pilates class presented by Rhiain.. Presented feels like the best way to describe what was gift of time for me which Rhiain reminded us of throughout the hour. A Pilates class like no other, a unique mind & body experience to restore and alighn and my aching body and muscles. Make no mistake, it was a workout, guided by a lovely instructor. Rihain pushed you that little harder when you think that’s it! And then making the last breath before relaxing all that much more rewarding before transitioning into the next set of postures and exercises. I loved it. Thank you Rhiain. I left your class feeling relaxed with peace of mind and increased energy, booked and excited for next week.

Fantastic experience: Customer service is outstanding! Friendly and approachable. Happy to help and inviting. The facilities are great. Good size gym. The bar area is my favourite part. You have to visit to fully experience. 2 good size studios with lots of classes. The pool side and changing rooms are the only thing I would say could do with TLC. The cupboards are broken, the floor it quite old, and the steam has this really bright white light and damaged seating. The jacuzzi isn't very powerful but a lovely added luxury after a nice gym or class. And the fact only steam and sauna in the close area is a huge added bonus to this lovely low cost health centre. To add they have a salon offering hair and beauty. And plants for sale in the bar area I'd give a 4.5 if i could and only because I really do think the pool and changing area could do with the tlc especially the steam ♡ I will be a member by the end of the week

Fantastic experience: What a great facility. Came here last Sunday for a swim with my 1 yr old. Pool was warm, chlorine levels low which was great for his skin, we had a lovely time. Staff friendly and helpful. Everywhere was clean and well run. Manager deserves a raise. Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually take time to post reviews but I was so impressed with Parkwood that I had to share... the staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. Unlike other gyms, they make you feel so welcome and immediately put you at ease. You can really tell they enjoy their profession and genuinely love being there. There is a great selection of gym equipment and facilities. I love the pool and sauna, and the classes are so much fun! Definitely recommend... great job Parkwood!

Positive experience: Good sized gym upstairs with modern equipment.. staff are great, super friendly and always smiling and saying hi. Reason for not 4* is the changing facilities, swimming pool and general downstairs facilities get dirty floors that are not regularly cleaned. Sometimes walking from the changing rooms to the pool is like walking through sand (8pm onwards)

Fantastic experience: Been into Parkwood with my friend on a guest pass; although I'm not a member I always feel so welcome as the staff are lovely to talk to as if you've known them forever. The swimming pool is amazing and feels like I'm on a spa break. Had a spot of lunch in their café and I can definitely recommend the Avocado on Toast .

Negative experience: BE WARNED!!!! I just recently tried to cancel my membership as I was leaving salisbury- the receptionist I spoke to told me I would have to pay for a further two months and INSISTED I could not simply write an email (which was obviously the easiest option) and that I had to hand in a hand written letter. I did this, and had another member handed the letter in for me. They then didn’t cancel my membership at all and when I rang to find out what was going on they said I SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN AN EMAIL and said that I would have to pay for a further two months!!!!!!! They were not helpful or apologetic and were extremely condescending. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY.

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym!!! Facilities are great, from pool with sauna, jacuzzi etc. to large rooms for great classes inc. Yoga, HIIT etc. The gym floor itself has lots of great equipment and enough space for everyone. The people who work there and workout there are all very friendly with ages ranging from younger to older. There's a cafe and onsite Jas Hair and beauty salon too!! Would highly recommend!!

Fantastic experience: Parkwood really is a great place as it's more than just a gym it's a lovely place to come and relax or have a chat over a cuppa or a bite to eat. The staff are really friendly and always on hand to help. The gym is really modern and very clean and the classes really are great and suits my busy lifestyle with the added bonus of virtual classes which run ever hour. Thank you to all the staff at Parkwood for making it not only a good place to visit but a great place to relax and unwind. 5☆☆☆☆☆

Positive experience: This is a members only health club. The membership fees are quite expensive, running at around £60 pm. There is a gym area with many cross trainers, treadmills and bikes, plus a free weight area and lots of resistance machines. They offer a number of classes, including spin as well as access to personal trainers (though in truth, I'm not sure of the additional cost.) There is also a pool with a spa, a sauna and a steam room. There is a cafe that offers coffee, beer and wine as well as lite meals. They have recently updated much of the gym equipment (Dec 17 or Jan 18). The staff are very friendly. The downside to this place is the quality if the finish. The spa looks old and broken, the steam room is often out of order, the sauna was not finished properly as some if the wood cladding was rough (though has been fixed) and the ceiling bubbles with moisture and sometimes water drips to the floor. It doesn't feel very high end, which is a shame.

Fantastic experience: All the girls here are super. Easy for treatments and hair without any of the pain of parking in Salisbury. Brilliant special offers run frequently
