Fantastic experience: I've been using the Colne Puregym for a month now & all is good, I moved from the local health centre. This gym was cheaper, there was an offer when signing up & is open 24 hours. I take part in the Cycle classes when I can, which are a great cardio workout, use the free weights & the resistance machines regularly. Even when the gym is busy I haven't found myself waiting to use any equipment. The app is very good & easy to use, from booking classes to entry to the gym, it even has training videos & meal ideas. I'm happy with everything & would recommend it

Fantastic experience: My experience of the first day of my membership with PureGym Colne is highly satisfied. I found all the equipment I am looking for, also the little machine for shoulders, which I love it and I didn’t found with other gym brands in London. My membership with PureGym there down the country was many years ago and I am happily surprised to see PureGym still keeping the equipment which people need. PureGym Colne is very clean! The air conditioning works properly to provide the right temperature inside, also the air is fresh and no any bad smell! Soon I will relocate myself and I have to use another gym place but definitely will be the same brand :) Hope the Team will keep all same way at PureGym Colne. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Big open gym over two floors. It offers a wide range of machinery for all types of workouts, changing rooms with showers and is good value for money. At times it can be busy and this can be checked against the app. There is ample parking shared, with other large shops on the estate. There is a tendency for groups to workout together and does lead group chatter that is less than ideal but never troublesome. For the price point, it works.

Positive experience: Since my last original review, see below, the gym has improved in the last 7 months, equipment seems to be maintained, more accessories for the cable machines etc. Staff are friendly and have a smile, apart from one. Overall enough improvement to bring from 1 star to 3 star. The big issue is the mess people leave behind, more enforcement and more action but I also understand the lack of support from HQ is preventing the action. Original review: My previous review was 5 star from 6 years ago when it opened but after giving the gym opportunity to fix issues, I've changed it to one star. Members have a lack of respect for others and do not return weights. I have personally reported specific individuals giving dates and times and been told management have the name but yet see no action taken. Equipment is becoming shoddy, with accessories for the cable machines in need of urgent replacing. Some machines don't seem to be services at all, take the calf machine, rough as hell. Cleaning stations removed, so it seems the gym no longer wants people to wipe equipment down before or after use. I fed back that the stations were not being topped up, so instead of dealing with that, they just removed them. Astonishing. Also reported weights being left a mess and allowed two weeks for a reply for either manager and got nothing, no acknowledgement or response. Honestly, does seem like they management don't care anymore, and I guess this explains the high staff turnover at this gym. You know it's bad when you visit a hotel and that gym is better equipped then your local PureGym. Shame really.

Fantastic experience: Pump Class - Mon 11 March, 5.15pm Jack is an exceptional fitness coach. Friendly, infectiously enthusiastic and approachable, he exudes a genuine passion for helping others improve their strength and conditioning. His classes are always well organised and structured with a clear progression pathway throughout. He provides excellent advice on form and technique with each activity to ensure class members understand how to maximise their individual gains in each session. Moreover, his classes always contain variety and pace to maintain the level of challenge and prevent boredom. Pure Gym at Colne should feel lucky to have someone of his calibre working for them. Negative experience: Shoddy. First time back after a long hiatus and I've already cancelled my membership. Showers run at a trickle and barely lukewarm, shower trays were filthy (or two of which seemingly blocked), the changing room floor was filthy too. It's rather awkward when you leave a place having showered, feeling dirtier than when you went in. Barely a TV on in the gym hall, one solitary sanitisation station (really? That's a very big area). So it seems a lot of cost saving approaches have been implemented while the membership fee goes up and yet subsequently the experience is far worse than it was before. I don't expect miracles for cost of membership but some basic care and attention to hygiene would be great.

Negative experience: A/C is blowing warm air, the equipment is worn out, and there are weights/equipment/litter scattered across the floor. Not good enough for the extortionate membership cost. There’s also rodent traps everywhere, so I would presume there is a pest infestation.

Temperatures/air con in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers. Positive experience: I joined this gym about a month OK. Although I mainly do classes there seems to be a good range of equipment available and plenty of it. There is a range of classes although I would prefer more aerobics type (maybe these have fallen out of favour) and probably due to the studios not having floor to ceiling walls there aren't any pilates/yoga/stretch type classes which I would also like. Some of the instructors offer excellent classes with the routines switched up and lots of encouragement (Charlotte) others are not so good. The facilities like changing are basic but adequate. There is only one shower and it would benefit from somewhere to sit and/or hang clothes/towels. There isn't anything like a hairdryer. But I feel the gym offers good value for money and all the staff are friendly.

Positive experience: Good gym and equipment. However the atmosphere is spoilt by plastic gangster wanna-bees (primarily from Nelson)who use each others pins to access the gym and take up the machines. I hope the gym can crack down on these kind of People. Unfortunately no gyms in Pendle are free of these kind of people.

Positive experience: It's okay but the people that go there rarelly rerack weights properly and ventilation is horrible

Positive experience: Can be really busy at peak times but plenty of machines available. There aren't many gym instructors/PTS or staff in general so you do find people doing some weird and wonderful exercising or machine hogging!

There is a section on the website and the app which shows how many people are in at that time which is a great way to help plan your session.

Negative experience: recently i just accidentally upgraded my membership from an off peak membership to a core membership which i have been using for 2 years now. coincidentally now that i am demanding to change my membership back, the off peak contract is not available anymore. please sort this issue out.

Positive experience: Been a member here before ok gym but going to rejoin but at £26.99 a mth WOW. There are Pure Gyms in Manchester for around £20 per mth. Just can't get my head round why there is such a price difference. Sadly be joining The Gym cheaper and decent equipment.

Positive experience: My experience of Pure Gym is very positive overall ! I live near so don't need to travel far . I like using the large studio which gives me space to practice my shadow boxing . I find the equipment to a good standard and its clean place to train . Sunday mornings I find people often leave equipment out in the studio and so I find I often have to tidy up which is a little annoying. The staff are friendly and helpful when needed as are alot of the other members. I do try and avoid peak times .

Negative experience: Signed up to puregym but don't know why it's chosen blackburn and not colne. They can't even cancel my membership..telling me to ask my bank to stop the direct debit lol

If the wrong gym has been selected at the time of signing up you can easily switch this to the correct one by contacting member services. If you'd prefer to cancel and are with in your 14 day cooling off period then they can also assist with this by cancelling down your account. Fantastic experience: Really good facilities and app experience set PureGym apart from others. Getting digital badges for visiting the gym helps give a sense of progression and achievement and being able to see how many people are in the gym at any given time is a great feature of the app. The gym itself is well stocked with equipment, refreshments and cleaning stations. The layout is a bit weird at first but I guess that applies to any gym when you're used to going elsewhere. All in all, a very positive experience and it's good to be back working out after a short break away from it!
Fantastic experience: I love pure gym. Its one of those places where everyone is welcome and there is no judgement. You become comfortable there very quick, the staff are super nice and helpful and it's just a really neural and encouraging space. Never had a bad experience

Fantastic experience: Great location, ample parking, just off the M65 motorway so access is easy. Helpful staff and a really clean well laid out gym Plenty of machines and equipment and cleaning stations for cleaning down equipment before / after use. Yanga machine is a bit hit and miss as its a tad slow to recognise members etc but overall still a great gym

Positive experience: Its a good gym and has most machinery you would need for a workout. Similar to market Street gym Manchester. I'm happy with the gym. I just wish it had the machine to check bmi and stuff, the free one included in the premium membership that other gyms have.

Positive experience: Clean, with plenty of cleaning stations to wipe down equipment before and after use. Well staffed, however this has reduced the 24hr opening times to 8-8 weekdays and 8-4 Fri-Sun. Good amount of space for weight training, however spots are usually filled from 4-6 most weekdays and cardio machines quickly fill too

Hi, Great to see that you are enjoying the gym.
Negative experience: I love the gym, but there is one customer, who seems to be there whenever I arrive, who thinks it's acceptable to clear his nose, ever five minutes, on the downstairs gym floor. I've mentioned this to the staff, but he still continues to do it. In addition to that, he parks his very expensive Mercedes in the disabled bay, even though he isn't disabled. Disgusting, if I'm honest.

Fantastic experience: Going to the gym feel safe Can see measures in place to help with covid
Negative experience: Ironic and not remotely funny how many non-disabled white German cars fight over the disabled parking spaces and yet have no badge; just a massive ego! No wonder I never brought my disabled mum! Never a quiet time, or should I say the place is just full of posers sat on the benches on their mobile phones doing absolutely nothing whilst you wait for literally any price of equipment to become free. Wouldn't be a problem if anyone was actually doing anything like a work out, but clearly Gen Z don't have any understanding of the meaning of a 'workout'. No, too preoccupied with their social media presence or how many people are looking at them as they do yet another exercise which somehow always seems to involve sticking their backside in everyone's faces. 3rd time I've returned and last time I'll visit. Not a workout place, just a reflection of gen z who seems to think that sitting on a badly-needed bench for 20 minutes is "their right, man". Waste of time trying to work out here at any time.

Fantastic experience: Although I live in North London I visited the gym in Colne as we were staying a few days with relatives in the area. The gym is well equipped and immaculately clean. I have no idea how they manage to keep the studio so clean and tidy - all steps are neatly stacked, mats are well used but very clean and no odd bits of equipment lying around. Changing room and showers are spotless. And to top it all - everyone is helpful and friendly. Perhaps managers from other gyms could visit here too and get inspired. Thank you for a very pleasant experience!
Positive experience: Good set of gym equipment. Classes are pretty good, for the most part. Cheap membership gets a thumbs up from me, and, even better that you can cancel at a moments notice if needs be.
Negative experience: What’s the point in having an assistance button if assistance never assists. Stood pressing the button for about 20 minutes and no one came.

There are always personal trainers in the gym between 6am and 10pm, but especially at peak times they are often occupied with classes or clients. Positive experience: Good gym with 24hr access super busy at peak times tho.Starting to get a lot of kids in and there are always vapeing all over the gym.
Negative experience: In the main, the gym is great. It's convenient, as I like to train early and it's around the corner from my house, but on the down side, people never tidy up after themselves, the vending machines rarely work and able bodied customers park in the disabled bays, just because they don't want their Audi getting scratched. It's for these reasons I've marked it down.

It is in the gym rules that members should return their own weights and equipment or risk suspension, but at peak times especially it can be hard to police this. However, staff on site do everything they can while we also have CCTV monitoring the free weights and are looking for new ways to combat this. If the vending machines are not working then please approach the Gym Manager for feedback purposes who will be able to look at this issue further. You can speak to them in the gym or leave a note in the feedback box which is regularly reviewed. Unfortunately we are unable to stop people parking the disabled parking bays as we don't directly control the parking for this area, however the car parks are monitored for this exact reason. Negative experience: Absolutely diabolical. Bought a day pass to try it out as had heard so many amazing things. Got there and Pin number wasn't working so I asked for assistance. The manager told me that I couldn't enter because the duty manager wasn't on duty and had gone at 9 pm. I showed him my email confirmation and there was nothing at all on there about being there before 9 pm. These guys are completely dishonest as they advertise a 24 hour service when it clearly isn't. I hope they close down very soon.

Positive experience: Decent gym, sometimes a wait on the machines, you can see how busy it is via app.

Positive experience: I find the personal trainers there very helpful,i also like the fact that the times for visiting the gym are not restricted, i also find the membership very reasonable.
Negative experience: If it was just the gym, facilities and price. Then 4 star. But the staff can't push a smile out never mind a rep. You see them walking around signing boards that they have done checks when the place is clearly a mess. They seriously need to become a bit more friendly and approachable. I have met a few of them that are decent but the majority are not. Management, motivate your staff, all they do is walk around with a dropped head and shoulders. Unless they see a friend of theirs of course, then all of a sudden very chatty and upbeat.
