Fantastic experience: best local gym by far - the recent refurbishment has made it top notch and the staff are so nice! it’s a good level of busy, enough to have atmosphere, good tunes and classes, but never overcrowded like some commercial gyms

Negative experience: I experienced disrespectful customer service from one of the staff when I visited the other day. My barcode wasn't scanning. It's not the first time it's happened. The last time, the male staff was very friendly and kind in welcoming me and sorting the barcode issue. This time, he was passive aggressive, making subtle insinuations that I was trying to get in without paying and loudly repeated that the reason it wasn't working was because I have a Flexi pass (a pass for people on benefits). It made me feel very uncomfortable and even the other staff member witnessing his interactions with me seemed to be uncomfortable as she apologised on his behalf for the "faffing" (her words). I find it strange how his personality completely changed from the first time and how rude and unwelcoming he was. I'm referring to the male staff, black, who worked Tuesday 3rd December 5.30pm.

Fantastic experience: I used this gym on a handful of occasions predominantly for the spa. It’s a wonderful gym and the staff are amazing friendly. Will be back for sure!!

Fantastic experience: Always a great atmosphere here. Staff is super friendly and classes are always very good. Changing rooms are clean. Basic neighbourhood gym with everything you need to keep healthy and fit.

Fantastic experience: The gym is currently undergoing a refurbishment (but is still open). Nice to see the investment. Plenty of equipment. Does get busy on a Friday when the gym is open to a youth session but other than that there's rarely something you can't hop on.

Positive experience: It's a decent gym but there are some issues. Broken equipment takes ages to be fixed, there was a broken treadmill that just stayed there for months. The new pull up and cable bar was taped off for 3 weeks, presumably because I saw it rocking back and forth like it was about to fall over when someone was doing pull ups on it. The leg press machine has been taped off for 3 weeks now too. With all the work that has been going on to improve the gym, I'm shocked that the leaky tap is still just being held together with tape, as has been the case for months. There also aren't enough carabiners for all the cable machines to be used at once. In the course of the refurbishment they have got rid of the vertical traction machine, which was always busy, and the big frame for pull ups is gone too. I also find that the staff are rarely around, unless they're doing a PT session. Another gym goer told me that I was using the chest press machine wrong, which was really useful but surely the gym staff could have noticed and told me! I just find that if I want to ask how to use a piece of equipment, especially with all the new equipment they've installed, there's no one around to ask. My last gripe is that the door is frequently just propped open, and staff aren't always keeping an eye on it. I would never use the lockers because it doesn't feel secure that people can just walk in.

Fantastic experience: One of the most friendly gyms I’ve ever been to. Members and staff are amazing and the classes are superb! They are going through a huge refurb at the moment and once completed around October time it will be the best gym around for miles. Super clean facilities and Very well priced for location. Very excited to be a member here

Positive experience: Nice gym, positive and friendly stuff. If not peak times you have a decent customer portfolio. I have been going to this gym for a long time now. At peak time there too much kids using a machine for 30min. Overall nice quality gym with good and clean equipment.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this gym for about 4 years. The mornings are usually not too busy but it can get busy in the evening. Even when it is busy, the atmostphere is really friendly and inviting. There is plenty of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment so you never really have to wait for anything. The staff are amazing and super helpful, and a huge part of why I have stayed as a member. Shout out to Andrea and Ausra for putting on the great workout classes. Lastly, it's really not that expensive compared to some of the other gyms in the area. Thank you Better Gym Teddington!

Fantastic experience: Decent gym and equipment. The staff are really friendly and helpful - shout out to Ausra and Andrea who are super friendly and really helpful - always happy to assist and make the session more enjoyable. My only issue is the steam and sauna opening later on which excludes people who come early from using the facilities.

The team are excellent, highly professional, excellent facilities, very nice relaxed, focused with all equipment needed, without overcrowding. Naz is the manager, very friendly, lovely lady. Negative experience: Awful gym. Yes it’s cheap, but you get what you pay for. Some of the main issues include: - it pretty much doubles up as a kids club from 3-6pm every day when a bunch of schoolchildren invade the place. I don’t have an issue with young people using the gym but it’s an absolute swarm, plus a significant number of them are very young (9 or 10) - of the regular adult patrons, there is a total lack of gym etiquette. Think never de-racking bars, hogging equipment for ridiculous amounts of time etc - there’s not enough of the key equipment (only two squat racks and one deadlift platform) so there’s a lot of waiting around - the ceiling has been leaking for over six months without any sign of it being fixed. The current solution is to allow the leaking brown water to drain into buckets near the equipment Unfortunately Teddington is sorely lacking in gyms so I have no choice but to continue coming here. If you do have the luxury of choice then avoid like the plague.

Positive experience: I like the gym and the classes. But I can't shower there, my hair looks greasy after I wash it there.

Negative experience: Rang up to find out about memberships and wanted to speak to a human rather than a annoying robot...gave up will go somewhere else... Nothing like the personal touch..take note

They have been a great help in creating exercise plans and helping me to understand what works best for me and how best to achieve my goals. Better gym Teddington has a brilliant set up of equipment in a great space for all types of training and fitness levels. It's a fabulous community to be part of.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to this gym for 8 years now - and love it! I’ve experienced other gyms with friends and while at university but Better is by far the best in terms of community and atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and make you feel so welcome, and are happy to help you with form tips etc. They’ve also recently got lots of new equipment in which is fab! Really recommend.

Fantastic experience: Rejoined the Gym after nearly a year, First person I met Charmaine very helpful welcoming and friendly helped me with my membership and new app use, big thanks and so excited backing up track .

Fantastic experience: I recently joined Better Gym Teddington when it re-opened again after being closed during the Lockdown months. I am impressed at the steps they have taken to ensure social distancing and safety for its members - from spacing apart the weight machines & treadmills to providing sanitiser and anti-bac cleaner throughout the gym. A system of pre-booking time slots via their website or app keeps users to a manageable number - for both the gym and classes. The facilities ( sauna, steam room, showers) are currently unavailable for health & safety reasons, but the chance to use the gym and attend classes is very welcome. The wonderfully helpful Charmaine and her team are doing an excellent job at providing the best service and facilities possible in the restrictive times we live in. Highly recommended!

I’ve been a member for over a year now and I find the staff friendly and the classes are ran very professionally and motivating. I am a regular user of the sauna and steam room which is a bonus but lately the changing rooms, showers and spa area haven’t been kept very clean!

Negative experience: The website does not work properly, so it is not possible to log in to the account and retrieve the membership number to send messages over the website. The support was very rude over the phone. I would not spend a single penny on this place and on this franchise. Customers are treated poorly and are not valued. It is very packed, there is no hot water almost every time and shower doors do not stay closed. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Negative experience: The gym is relatively small for the money. Equipment wise have everything that you need. Main frustration is the changing rooms. They are dirty and despite regular complaining they don’t seem to get cleaned. Usual response of having problems the cleaners from the gym staff

Positive experience: Ok gym only lacks some equipment as for mens changing room showers need to be resealed as the dreded black mould has started to show in corners of some of shower sauna and steam room are very good and well kept and work really well it would be 4 stars if showers did not have that small problem

Fantastic experience: Great gym with good choice of classes, from yoga to spin and body pump and body balance. Occasionally has problems with air con in the studio which makes spin classes even bigger torture. Only busy after 6pm, so if you're not working office hours, you'll always find it pleasantly empty.

Positive experience: Bug range of equipment for weights and body weight exercises as well as cardio.

Positive experience: Quite clean gym with a good selection of equipment and friendly staff. Gets quite busy around six. You’ll require a padlock for the locker. Staff are happy to give you a free trial. Above a Tesco’s which is handy.

Fantastic experience: There is a very good variety of equipment: from the standard weights and machines; to the many pieces of functional fitness equipment, elastics, ropes, punching bags, yoga equipment. The facilities are well maintained with efforts made to continually improve their them. Both the staff and members are friendly and helpful. There are a great number and variety of classes to choose from. The classes that I have attended have been well planned and professionally executed.

Positive experience: Good gym, sauna seemed to be out of action for some time and staff don't really talk to you. Apart from that it has everything you need and looks nice.

Fantastic experience: Sad to be leaving this lovely gym, I've lost nearly 40lbs this year with the help of the friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere and great equipment. It really has given me the motivation to keep going.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! The only thing I have found is staff issues. Some are so friendly others are just interested in themselves and their own training, and very rude on entry and leaving. Still I have learnt to live with it.

Positive experience: The air con has been sorted and the showers and steam room recently refurbished. I've been a member here for over 5 years and it's an excellent local gym.The classes are fun and well attended.Have n't seen much of the hardcore body builder types recently, they've possibly moved elsewhere (and anyway the heavy weights are tucked away to one side of the main area). Most of the staff are excellent and anyway it's no bad thing to have staff with different skills and personalities.
