Fitness 4 Life Gym Kings Heath: Opinions
Positive experience: Great gym. 4 stars due to lack of sauna
Fantastic experience: This gym is the one, I always come back to Has the essentials Staff are awesome Nothing to complain about.
Negative experience: Cardio awful, weights ok boxing/MMA OK the people let it down. Had a lad come up to me and say he would batter me in a fight and he's a better boxer when all I was trying to do is mind my own business and train full of chavs
Negative experience: It's ok decent selection of weight machines and loose weights great for boxing and MMA not the gym for cardio. Staff seem ok but if you're new to the gym, over users seem to judge you as a lot of people already seem to be bulked up, going in the boxing section is almost like a competition people looking at you trying to show there better you even have people ask to Spa which is pretty ends in a full-blown boxing match. All in all the equipment and the gym is ok it's just the people in there they all think there hard men.
Fantastic experience: The best gym on the high Street. Great vibe and excellent staff.
Negative experience: Very basic gym, lots of broken equipment. Dirty, everything is dirty. Sauna is permanently out of order. Big sign saying NO NUDITY ALLOWED in the changing room. Constant TV and ads on at full volume, really kills the atmosphere and staff are unhelpful. If you can go somewhere else, do!
Fantastic experience: Real gym. Nowhere better for combat sports or fitness training. Solid equipment.
Fantastic experience: Great gym with all the equipment you need, staff are sound and friendly and it’s a good environment
Positive experience: Fitness4life gym Kings heath. Facillities are a bit squashed together. There is indoor cricket lane (which seems out of place in an MMA gym) next to the circuit equipment with only a curtain to stop fast balls. Instead of wooden floor indoor cricket turf has been placed down in the circuits area and has taped up rips. The weights section is good, but everything else suffers from being too close together. Team renegade is a MMA gym that runs out of the club. Membership also allows use of gym facilities. Their mats are clean and have great instructors including a current UFC fighter, plus all the students appear to have a good time. However, the general use club boxing ring is dusty and the lights hang down a bit too low for anyone in the gym to use a skipping rope without the risk of catching the fittings. The biggest downside other than cramped feel is the toilet and shower facilities they desperatly need doing up and regular maintainance. Personally I like training here but with a little effort it could be so much better than it is.
Fantastic experience: Excellent place to train and also for combat sports. A heads up - a proper lads gym
Fantastic experience: Ideal for martial arts
Fantastic experience: Great gym for strength and conditioning aswell as mixed martial art training where you can choose whichever classes you like. I like the vibes here as you don't get the usual pompous types you would get at normal gyms who just workout for show. You really can learn some great stuff here with genuine people. Some of the best martial artists from the Midlands teach classes here too. Great gym if you want to learn new skills!
Fantastic experience: Top Facility with great classes. Thai Boxing by Camp 313 Muaythai.
Positive experience: Decent equipment mainly for strength and conditioning than for bodybuilding and strongman But good quality weight plates and barbells
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym with good opening times and friendly staff. Very clean also.
Fantastic experience: Loads of equipment. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym Facilities are good
Fantastic experience: good gym, classes are very challenging, you get a good workout, worth every penny
Negative experience: No HEATING No WATER PERVERTS I recommend you to look for another gym Definitely one of the worst life decisions I've ever made
Negative experience: I went there a few years ago I had a bad experience the changing room is a big room and men perve on other men, on some machines you were waiting around to use it got crowded on many occasions. After a work out I took a shower men pervertedly looked inside the glass see through door of what was happening when someone was having a shower. When speaking to reception about having cubical they didn't want to know, The worst is when kids came from schools it was hard to have a workout because all the machines were taken. I personally would not recommend this gym to anyone because the owners think only of cutting corners and saving money and not listening to the customers concerns. The classes ain't free like the pure gym.
