Fantastic experience: Good swimming pool

Negative experience: Turned up at the minor injuries with a pain in my wrist after a bike accident. Was told it couldn’t be broken or I would know about it. And refused to Xray despite the clinic being empty. Was told to get a physio referral from my GP. 24 hrs later a broken wrist was confirmed by QE A&E. Staff at the walk-in acted like they couldn’t be arsed. Really poor service on this occasion.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful pools, busy Saturday afternoons. The water is freezing, though, which made the arthritis in my spine and shoulders and hands worse. Otherwise, I would have stayed a lot longer with my daughter.

Fantastic experience: Great place for grass roots football.

Positive experience: The gym and swimming pools are brilliant. The staff are always attentive and ready to help, especially Darren. The parking on weekday evenings is a nightmare though.

Fantastic experience: First visit to Blaydon primary care centre for scan today as usually attend Newcastle hospitals or Benfield Road facility. My appointment was on time and I found the staff to be professional and friendly. The centre seemed clean and well run with parking spaces and easy taxi drop off/ pick up. A good addition and option to the combined NHS services.

Fantastic experience: Attended the Primary Care Centre for an MRI scan. I was attended to with efficiency, care, empathy and tolerance.

Positive experience: Never normally had an issue with blaydon swimming pool. But today we arrived at 1pm for them to tell us that the little pool is closed for dunston swimming lessons. And the pool will be open at 3pm. We then come back at 3pm. We pay get changed and head in for them to say little pool is full. No one told us at the desk so we sit on the side for 20 min and still were not allowed in little pool so we do sit at the big pool and let my daughters try but they were to small and didn’t leave the edge so we left. Very disappointed

Fantastic experience: Very quiet first thing on a Sunday morning to use the mobile units at the back. Loads of parking, easy to get too.

Fantastic experience: Routine MRI, very reassuring staff, they explained how the procedure would go, took about 40 mins, which included a pre questionnaire. Thank you

Negative experience: If you like freezing cold water and the most unfriendly Staff to ever work in a public baths, then look no further than Blaydon leisure and primary care centre. I was overcharged by a very ignorant receptionist that said one price but actually charged more than was quoted. I only went to this bath's because it was local but the staff are so rude and the water so cold that I think I'll drive a few miles out of my way, just so I can avoid my money being stolen and hyperthermia for the rest of my day after attending this horrible bath's. Please if you do ignore my review, check your change or read your receipt.

Fantastic experience: NHS staff and facilities, professionalism and care..at its best!

Positive experience: swimming pool is always really cold. The centre is clean enough. The swimming lessons seem to be going well enough and is always full and busy. We've not experienced the rest of the leisure activities to comment.

Fantastic experience: Use gym facilities don't bother with walk in centre unless you've got a limb hanging off.

Negative experience: Arrived early for a scheduled appointment to be told it had been changed (a letter sent out apparently!!) without prior notice, Just aswell I had my original appointment as I would of undoubtedly would of been unable to prove my Original appointment... Got seen eventually after an hour & half wait Totally Unacceptable...

Positive experience: It's okay, enjoyed it here, standard price, easy to get in and out and plenty parking. The pools are a bit small and had lanes closed. Looking at the timetable there's a lot going on which can be good for some but also means Lane closures for more casual people if attempting to go after work hours.

Fantastic experience: Very clean, easy accessible building. The staff are very helpful and the appointment times works perfectly. Very large carpark available and there is a cafe for snacks and hot/cold drinks.

Negative experience: Upon first visit with my husband today. I liked the swimming pool. When I enquired about it with E.S.A I was told because I live in Newcastle and NOT Gateshead I would not qualify for the discount card. The first woman was lovely. But the next woman was rather oh no you don't live here in Gateshead you simply can't do the discount. Made me feel very red faced and ashamed for asking. I think I will stick to my old pool which I do have a discount card for even though i don't live in country durham. Amazing what happens when snobbyness comes into putting the disabled person down. Totally disgusting

Positive experience: Easy enough to find but I was there to get an MRI and the truck thingy is in the car park, so fabulous although my experience is slim.

Positive experience: Good and not so good points to the gym and the pool. Good: Well equipped gym with a good range of resistance and cardio kit. All in good working order the majority of the time. Pool and facilities always very clean. Free lockers in the gym changing. Not so good: People sitting on machines in the gym playing with phones or talking. If you’re not using it, move! This is usually teenagers with 300 quid’s worth of gym shark kit on but totally clueless and doing very little but taking selfies or texting OR older folk who use the gym as a social space. No problem with that at all but if you want to chat or take pictures of yourself, move somewhere where you aren’t holding up people who may have to be at work soon. Gym attendant very often not in attendance. Can usually be found chatting to the receptionist downstairs. Not all of them I hasten to add. Half the kettlebells are stored away in the cupboard at the back. I’ve seen one of the gym attendants training with a friend and the full set was brought out then promptly put away again. Why? An awful lot of kettlebell exercises require two of the same weight. People in swimming lanes stood chatting - if you’re not swimming and you want to chat, go in the general pool open area. Why disturb others who are there to train when an area is provided if you want to make it a social event. Come on staff - stop blindly swinging your whistle and get people told! 20p for a swimming pool locker. You don’t get the 20p back so where do you put your things if you want a shower after the pool but need your shampoo etc from your bag? There is no space in the shower cubicle where your things don’t get soaked. You need another 20p. Ludicrous. Car park really should be policed better when the football is on at the back. An absolute free for all with cars everywhere and disabled bays filled with cars displaying no blue badge. Kids running everywhere and the area packed with cars is an accident waiting to happen. Mostly very easy things to sort with a bit of proactive involvement from staff.

Positive experience: Went for a chest x-ray was in and out in no time the girl made me feel totally relaxed

Positive experience: Great facilities in both leisure and primary care. The downside is that the car park needs to be monitored when football games are on. I have visited the medical centre a number of times when all disabled bays are taken by parents without a blue badge and they walk down to the football pitches. I was also blocked from getting in my driver's door by an inconsiderate driver parked on the yellow crosses to the right of the end bay.

Fantastic experience: Me and my daughter go here for her swimming lessons. The pool and the changing rooms are relatively clean and the staff are friendly. Parking however is awful at peaks times and it's very difficult to get a space.

Fantastic experience: Just had my first visit to a swimming pool in over 16 years 22/02/24 and words cannot say how much I enjoyed it and how good I feel after it so pleased I chose this pool to go to was made too feel extremely welcome by the lovely lady on reception and told me what the best kind of card to have to cover the cost to make your visits cheaper the baths are extremely clean with plenty of lifeguards changing area is comfortable with lockers costing 20p looking forward to my return visit

Fantastic experience: Wooo, so much fun, had needles poked in my arms and blood stolen and all sorts of shenanigans. Nurse was lovely though and it didn't hurt at all.

Positive experience: I have been a member for many years, particularly enjoy stretch and tone class and travelled to Dunston to follow Alison's class, gutted to find out this is no longer going to run

Positive experience: A&E seen quickly 30 - 40 mins by Triage then couple of hours for doctor. Good facilities, however unable to take my bloods here

Fantastic experience: What a great alternative to A&E at the QE. Had a fall out running, badly twisted ankle. Seen and X rayed really quickly. Staff professional and efficient. We are fortunate to have this great facility. Keep up the good work guys!

Fantastic experience: Lovely calm environment. The building is light and airy and very modern. The pool has lanes on certain days and there's a lovely little baby pool too. The cafe is really great value £8 for 2 coffees, 2 fresh sandwiches and a packet of crisps. The staff were very warm and friendly. Thanks

Fantastic experience: From driving into the free car park, speaking to the receptionist who gave me instructions to where I was to be next, to the two nurses that took care of me, to the consultant that was explaining to me my results, but most importantly, listened to my concerns & answering them fully. This care center really does care. If I was offered the opportunity to come here again, I would definitely make it my first choice. Brilliant.

Positive experience: Went to walk in centre on sunday i only fractured my bloody wrist 52 years old and broken my first bone

Fantastic experience: I found ample free parking when I went for an appointment. I was received in a very friendly manner by a very pleasant lady. My appointment was on time and very detailed. The doctor decided that an x-ray would be helpful and that was done within a few minutes and available for him to view immediately. That allowed a further discussion with me regarding my results. All in all it was a one stop efficient experience.

Positive experience: Good but small pool always booked out for schools

Positive experience: Good equipment but very cramped and my biggest issue is the music you’re playing. The music is not appropriate for a gym and working out space… nobody wants to workout to the evening news updates or Depressing low mood music. Highly recommend changing the music to something more dancy with a faster best to it.

Negative experience: Booked for Covid jab at 09.55 and did not get seen to till 10.45, sorry not good at all. Having to stand in corridor did not help, if there were seats would have helped. Need to be organised alot better.

Fantastic experience: Easy parking, friendly knowledgeable staff, great facilities and hosting a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, dance studio and medical centre.

Negative experience: Brought the children down for a late night swim tonight. To be greeted by rude staff. Laughing and making fun of the children making people feel uncomfortable because theyre swimming during a public session which is usually quiet. Absolutely disgusting!!!
