Negative experience: Money Charged Yet No Gym Access Provided and No Response Dear The Gym Group, I have paid for the off-peak monthly membership for my father and mother in-law on 9 December 2024 and 10 December 2024 respectively. However, The Gym Group immediately disabled their accounts after receiving the payment. The amount of each payment is the monthly fee of £15.99 + joining fee £10.00. Hence, the total amount of each payment is £25.99 for each payment, which were debited from my bank account on 9 December 2024 and 11 December 2024 respectively. The Gym Group unique reference numbers for these transactions are: W80758791 and W80794483 respectively. The last 4 digits of the bank debit card number used for these two transactions are: 5553 Your online customer service officer acknowledged the errors and passed the case to your finance department to follow up. However, up till now, there has been no reply from your finance department. May I ask if this can be sorted out ASAP by enabling their paid memberships? The two in-laws are elderly who couldn't converse in English nor drive. Hence, they cannot travel far away and are relying on the gym access to maintain their health. In addition, The Gym Group has taken the customer's money and is responsible for offering the gym access. Thank you. Your sincerely, Chan

Fantastic experience: Great gym

Positive experience: Spacious and well kitted. Doesn't get busy even during peak times which is great cos you're not really gonna be waiting for equipment to become available

Positive experience: Not so much. But it's okay as a gym.

Negative experience: So many obnoxious people. Ultimate membership is a scam as most equipment / machines for ultimate members doesn't work. Lockers are either broken or a pain to lock. Feels so ghetto LOL Whenever something is out of service it takes months to repair. Other members need to drill it into their thick skulls that other people use the equipment too, wash your hands after you use the bathroom you egomaniacs. What is cleanliness? The mats haven't been cleaned ever since I joined up a year ago.

Negative experience: No one comes to the door when the doorbell is ringing

Fantastic experience: I really like this gym it’s got a lot Of equipment, nice changing rooms, friendly staff and overall you want a place where you feel comfortable at which I do so all staff pat urself on the back

Positive experience: Overall its a nice gym but as i was new didn’t find anyone to guide me or give me a tour and all.

Negative experience: The personal trainers are rude and feel like they can talk to you in any manner they want, they do not give the same fair treatment to everyone that trains there. They also like to try create a scene in front of everybody.

Negative experience: Cheap for a reason. Came back here last week after training from home a few years. Found it to be very unwelcoming, bad vibes and rude people thinking they can walk off, and then come back to the equipment they were previously on and go "I'm not finished" 2 minutes later. Preacher Curl completely broken with bolts popping out, no sign to say out of order. Tried to report it and of course, no one around. One session and cancelled my DD.

Fantastic experience: I Joined up To the gym as it was close enough to home. I’ve always struggled with the motivation and I have a huge weight loss target and I spoke to one of the PTs, and I signed up with Clarke Murrell, he was understanding and approachable. Even after a few sessions I’ll feeling better physically and I can’t recommend him enough

Fantastic experience: Been a member for a few years and come twice a week usually. Kit is clean and in good order. Good range of equipment and the staff are around if you need help. If they see you they always say hello. There's a lot of different classes to choose from. I have a class with Jake (boxfit) which is brilliant! He runs it twice a week. He explains how to do the punches, makes sure you know how to use the kit and how to do it safely and pairs people according to ability/strength. The classes are a good mix of boxing and other exercises and they vary EVERY week. Which make it interesting and keeps you motivated. Makes you sweat and you really feel like you've done something. But you leave smiling which is great!

Fantastic experience: I’ve enjoyed the gym for the first time with the gym group. The variety of equipment means you don’t get bored, plenty of classes to choose from and I’ve had PT with Veronika and she’s been fab, motivating me to push myself further and build up my strength plus Pilates has been great for my core. Fantastic experience: I have been a member of the Gym Group, Milton Keynes, for over 6 years now and I am very happy with the member experience I receive. Abdul who is the General Manager supported by Tayla, come across very well and can’t do enough for their members including providing advice on training. The classes I have been to are always well planned, engaging and you always come away glad that you went. There is a fantastic range of equipment which is always well maintained and the gym is always kept very clean. If a problem arises, Abdul and his team are always happy to deal with issues and members are kept updated on progress with resolving these. Since Abdul took on the role of General Manager, he has brought in the fun factor by creating some competitions and challenges for those wanting something more than just a workout. Free parking for up to three hours is provided to members. Overall, the gym provides great value for money. (18-Apr-24) Another good session in the gym today. While I was there, the General Manager, Abdul, came over and and showed me how I could improve my technique when doing hyperextensions when using a Plyo Jump Box - thanks again Abdul. Abdul goes out of his way to help his members and is a fantastic personal trainer. (26-Apr-24)

Positive experience: I love this gym however I do not feel safe changing in the ladies changing rooms when the emergency exit is constantly pushed making the doors not close. (This gives access to everyone and you don’t need to put your code in as the door is opened at the hinge). I understand that the gym will not have gym members of staff at the site always but there should be someone with the appropriate keys to reset the emergency exit to keep the gender sectioned areas safe. Edit: this has happened twice now. Once today 13/04 and once on Thursday 11/04.

Positive experience: Had my first visit yesterday. Some machines are old and rusty and the atmosphere is a bit meh and it’s VERY small. Floors & machines Could do with a refurb but other than that it’s alright

Negative experience: This gym doesn’t even have a squat rack, can you call that a commercial gym? It gets an extra star for having free parking (with possibly the least convenient PIN code entry system in the world). EDIT: I just realised they have ONE (1) bench. Enough said.

Positive experience: Just moved over from Bannatyne. It has all the equipment I need which Bannatyne didn’t. Must admit that a lot of things are rusty which I’m not used to. Also like that it isn’t overly crowded. Also has an in-body scanner which most gyms in MK do not have and was a deal breaker for me so happy to see that there. Yet to use it though so hopefully it all goes well. Edit: body scanner is so inaccurate that I no longer use it. Better off heading to Woughton or Bletchley Leisure centres for a proper in-body scan if that’s important to you. Both do charge a fee if you’re using the scanner (I think it’s £20 but double check with them).

Positive experience: Good gym with a variety of machines to work with. However they are quite old some of them, doesnt prevent you from working out though.

Fantastic experience: Fair quality for its price, eithbloads of equipment for everyone. I have never seen it full there is always empty equipment t to use.

Positive experience: Overall good. Parking is pentyful and its next to train station full of shops. However rowing machines not facing window; rowing machine foot straps are worn out; Stopped providing paper towels so its impossible to clean equipment yourself.

Negative experience: Terrible experience, ground floor stinks really bad no ventilation at all , second floor not to bad , after all not using again

Fantastic experience: Clean, air-conditioned and full of different machines to choose from. The Gym Group brand delivers once again (unlike what I could only describe as the nuclear disaster that was Gum Group in Wandsworth, London)

Negative experience: Feel harsh giving it a 2. My first experience of the gym group. Not a bad gym, has everything you need in there however lacks atmosphere and character in there. No music so take headphones. Good machines and free weights but not enough space in there when it's busy. Vending machines had out of date protein shakes in which are overpriced, something that I overlooked until drinking one and getting a mouthful of gloop. Not a bad gym though if your working away and need to get a few sessions in.

Positive experience: The gym is in a very convenient location and has free parking too. It is always very clean and tidy. Most of the staff are very friendly, they will often give me a warm greeting and farewell. I have only visited in the early afternoon, which is fairly quiet. Looking at the gym usage on the app, the evenings don't seem much busier than in the afternoon. With regards to equipment, there are usually at least 2 off everything. All equipment is in good condition and well maintained. The staff are usually very quick to repair broken equipment. There are often various handwritten signs reminding members of various things that relate to common courtes matters. However, I have never seen anything about the slamming of the weights on the machines, which is annoying, and probably reduces the lifespan of the components! Overall, this gym offers good value for money and I would recommend it to others.

Fantastic experience: This is a brilliant gym. They have all the equipment that you could need and a wonderful team that are super helpful with everything. They have a great depth of knowledge to help you get the most out of your workout to reach your goals.

Fantastic experience: Friendly atmosphere, very clean, diversity of members makes it feel very approachable for novices. Shout out to my PT Veronika who works there, and she also runs pilates classes. All staff say hello if they see you and make eye contact with you and its clear management makes a concerted effort to engage with members through whiteboards, mini competitions and always provides opportunities to give feedback.

Fantastic experience: My time at The Gym MK is special to me... Its a personal issue. This when I get a me time. I am privileged to have an amazing Personal Trainer called Veronika Molnar.... She is superb. She takes her clients very serious. She is thorough and has a great heart for her job. She targets all areas of my well being. Keeps a record of my dietary requirements as well as fitness. Lady Vee (as I fondly call her) is a human being and a professional to the core. I have been with her for over a year now and I am seeing lots of progress in my fitness journey. Veronika is an asset to the Gym MK. The Gym itself is well equipped & clean. I made the right decision to register here.

Fantastic experience: There are so many Wonderful things I can say about this place. Outstanding Customer Service from the Team at Milton Keynes. I came for a look around and everyone was wonderful. The Manager Abdul is a credit to the company. The Assistant manager Tayla is too. Both were so attentive with me at all times. The cleanliness is the Best I’ve seen. The friendliness of gym members while I was there put my mind at ease. Facilities are fantastic and such an Amazing idea to have toiletries provided inside the ladies shower area. A bonus for providing parking too. I felt so safe coming here. Well done to a first class Team. Thank you so much for looking me. 10/10

Fantastic experience: I love this gym. Nice and clean, open 24 hours. The trainers are always there if I need help. They are happy to show me the machines and give me support. There are different classes every day. I really like the Pilates class. The instructor, Veronika comes with different exercises every session making the class challenging but still relaxing.

Fantastic experience: Really big and with all what you need when you go to the gym from cardio to weight to areas to stretch. The changing rooms are good the only thing remember to bring with you the hairdryer because that's missing. Really handy location next to the train station and with a free parking lot ....Great place

Fantastic experience: I have had a great experience in the gym! It’s easily accessible in the heart of central MK. Staff are extremely helpful and always on hand to help or provide support any time of day. The facilities are a wide selection and love how they update you on all the classes which are going on each day. Very clean, highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Unsure why this gym has any bad reviews. The staff specially are top tier , friendly, knowledgable and professional. The reviews that have been left are probably late in the night after 12am where of course there isn’t staff available in the a.m. I always find staff available everyday at any time of the day to help. Clarke and Abdul have been superb and highly recommend them if you choose this gym or need any assistance or help. The gym is ALWAYS clean and sanitised as I see the staff always cleaning. The equipment has a great selection and I can now start to see results after only being there for just over a month even if it’s only a little. Great gym… right next to the train station which is handy too. Thank you team specially Abdul and clarke who have supported me.

Fantastic experience: Good, smaller than some of the other gym group gyms but nice atmosphere, nice people and the trainers are helpful. Only wish there was more space!

Negative experience: Paid for monthly subscription, QR code let's you through main entrance door, doesn't let you through second door into the gym. Triple checked signed up to correct gym location, I did, stood there like a mug for 15 min trying to get in. Will be cancelling subscription. Waist of a trip, and had to pay for parking.

Positive experience: Used for two sessions while away from home. Good location, easy to access. Well equipped (once I figured out the free-weights were downstairs, with no signs). Only 4 stars as the weights room was a mess at 6am - weights absolutely everywhere, in the wrong place, and just left on the floor.
