Negative experience: The lifeguards at the swimming area are so rude and moody! And they just assume you can’t swim even if your perfectly good at it. My daughter, 7. Is completely okay with swimming, she has been having swimming lessons since she was 3, every lifeguard refused to let her on the inflatable’s because apparently she “couldn’t swim”

Positive experience: Just wish other users had more consideration

Negative experience: Gym is small, not alot of range of equipment, but has most of the basics. It's good during the day when everyone is at work. But there's loads of kids in there, clearly under the age of 16 and not supervised. Always in groups and makes it hard to get on anything. Not worth a visit between 4pm and 8pm

Fantastic experience: Brilliant local facility!

Fantastic experience: Very good induction from Matthew Active Tameside, I have disabilities and need to get some exercise, I was shown all the equipment that was good for me to use and what would not be with my limited ability in the gym, and what classes are available and the swimming pools.

Fantastic experience: Our children do karate on a Saturday afternoon good venue and the staff seem very friendly too.

Positive experience: The gym has improved & now has much better equipment

Negative experience: Attitude of reception 5/4/24 Not understanding what she was saying and she went louder and louder, not nice when there was a huge queue

Positive experience: Great centre for most activities, gym is good and covers two floors with everything you need for your workout, FREE, ample parking spaces. Friendly staff and nice clean changing rooms and showers.

Negative experience: Lack of basic manners ie please and thank you from a member of staff in the cafe area. Seen this week in week out now for the last few months. It makes you feel a burden as a customer, even on the simplest of requests.

Fantastic experience: Clean changing rooms and toilets. There are secure lockers, and plenty of them. Friendly and approachable staff who are knowledgeable. Excellent choice of equipment and weights that are well maintained. If equipment is out of order it appears to be repaired quickly.

Negative experience: Been bringing my daughter for a year to swimming lessons Get my regular double espresso £3 every week without fail Today charged £5 for the same drink that was £3 last week When I questioned itI was told by the staff member she doesn’t know how to use the till properly and didn’t know where the button was so just pressed espresso twice hence £5 Perhaps try training staff up before they charge people whatever they like as they don’t know how to use the till Irrespective of how popular or unpopular the drink is its a product you sell Attitude of the staff well take it or leave it it’s £5 Won’t be spending another penny here again Absolute lack of customer service and more interested talking about their personal life and weekends plans than serving customers

Positive experience: One of the hot beds in the spa was not heated and, according to another spa user, has been like this for a long time. Strange that they haven't fixed it. Changing rooms too hot for comfort and the shower curtain in ladies disabled shower has seen better days and is covered in mould (partner showed me a pic). Gym is spacious upstairs and staff are good.

Fantastic experience: Great, fantastic, exhilarating swim best going when kids in school

Negative experience: Gym has no staff on duty, so its full of ferrel kids and two people vaping, its like training at Wetherspoons. Not enough equipment, never known a gym to only have three benches.

Fantastic experience: Staff friendly enjoy using this gym and the classes.

Negative experience: In my search for a swimming pool to train at, this one is sadly not in my list. Inly one timing clock in an odd Place and not working. Design of pool ensure a sharp temperature gradient from warm to cold and it hits like a wall . Again no guide flags out in public swimming so those of us who enjoy backstroke have to constantly check how far the wall is. Again not a relaxing and enjoyable place to swim as tiles as slippery so tumble turning tricky.

Fantastic experience: Availability and choice of classes.

Negative experience: My daughter started swimming at was great but last 2 years it's gone down hill dramatically. My daughter has been in the same class for 19 months, she's passed 2 other classes in around 8 months I've spoke to instructions (there's been 4 in this time frame) they do have a lesson and allow 1 child to pass and accept 1 new child and start the plans again

Negative experience: Really bad leisure centre the gym is garbage and tiny yet they want more and more mambership who can't fit inside lol. Had my bike robbed while I was training it was locked up outside however there's was zero help from the centre to resolve this overall rip off food dirty centre and small

Positive experience: Gym and pool both very good but they need to address how busy the 12pm lane swim is and add another time slot during the day because it’s not an enjoyable experience at all currently

Positive experience: Great, clean facilities and a lovely little cafè that's reasonably priced. My only complaint would be to have more staff to sort out the rowdy kids from the attached school that come in after school time as they were extremely disruptive during our swim and were stealing from the café. It really put us off from visiting at that time again. Didn't fully enjoy our first experience at the centre so not sure if we will return or not anyway.

Positive experience: The arena is really good but the food and drink bar upstairs leaves a lot to be desired

Positive experience: Visited on a Wednesday at the end of the Easter holidays and it was a boring general swim session. I was told balls etc are not allowed during general swim so nothing for children to play with. Nice pool and temperature, ok lockers and showers. Unfortunately the cafe was not serving food for my hungry children. Hot chocolate was boring, a cheap can of squirty cream and marshmallows go a long way to enhance an experience.

Fantastic experience: Really popular leisure centre, they seem to do everything well. My son has health condition and 1st aiders were great, but with only 1 lift to floors can be problematic in emergency.

Positive experience: Far too hot in the café area and changing rooms. No complaints about the staff or swimming facilities.

Positive experience: Very dated pool. Very dated policies. Nice gym.

Positive experience: Active Copley has 2 good pools. A small nursery pool for children and babies and a very large pool for adults and good swimmers. There is a cafe that is reasonably priced. But the car park however is a little on the small side and is in some places tight. Which means the occasional bump may appear on your car. But overall its decent.

Fantastic experience: This Sport Hall was used for urban extreme dance competition recently. It is located in Stalybridge Millbrook.

Fantastic experience: The staff are really friendly and helpful, the facilities are really good; they have a small pool for beginners and a large pool for lane swimming, there's courts for squash, sports halls for badminton and other indoor sports and a decent gym that has just been refurbished. There is a great cafe/restaurant that does pizzas, burgers, cheese toasties, jacket potatoes and all manner of refreshments from tea and coffee, through slushies and soft drinks to beer on draught. They also sell swimming goggles and nappies etc

Fantastic experience: Reception staff are way better than hyde

Fantastic experience: We take our 4 year old son to karate here, he loves it the teachers are really good with the children.

Positive experience: A local community centre with pools, badminton and squash courts, and an inside gym. It is very hot in changing area, and the building at large is warmer than outside. Cafe is good although healthy options are sparse. Staff are very friendly

Fantastic experience: A wonderful facility and staff. Used the sauna, steam room and swimming pool. Staff showed me how to access the different areas and were patient and friendly. Lockers in good condition, showers and hairdryers all working well. Pool temperature perfect for me as I don't like cold water). Used to be a member of a private gym but Copley was superior in cleanliness and friendly, helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: Monthly membership price is reasonable, gym is friendly and the creche is so handy.

Negative experience: The Leisure Centre on the whole seems pretty good but I cannot comment on the gym & swimming facilities as I only use the Sports Hall facility. My biggest disappointment with the Sports Hall is the lighting, it is extremely poor for badminton sessions. The establishment have had opportunity to replace the light fittings with new cost and energy efficient LED fittings complete with diffusers but instead have always opted for a replacement of like for like tube fittings with no diffuser. PLEASE RESOLVE THIS ISSUE TO VASTLY IMPROVE THE LIGHTING PROVISION FOR A MULTI-SPORT ENVIRONMENT!

Fantastic experience: Grandsons 1st swimming lesson. We'll organised and coach was really nice with the kids. Didn't get her name but it was Gemmas 1st group (Gemma off at the moment) Looking forward to next lesson on Thursday Cheers Aaron's grandad

Fantastic experience: We took the grandchildren to inflatables. The centre was clean, the showers were hot and in good working order. The price of a swim was very reasonable. The small pool was lovely and warm, there were plenty of pleasant very alert and friendly life guards. The chips in the cafe were gorgeous and if I wasn't In charge of the kids I would have enjoyed a drink from the bar!! There is a large free car park
