Fantastic experience: I have recently joined anytime fitness and I have enjoyed my experience so far, the staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, very approachable and always have a smile on their face. The facilities are brilliant, have everything you need for what ever style of training you do and whatever your fitness goals are, I can’t recommend the place enough!
Fantastic experience: Really well equipped 24 hour gym conveniently located close to Tower Gateway, Aldgate & Aldgate East Stations. Large range of free weights up to 50kg, cables, various machines both pin & plate loaded. Good functional area with rings, kettlebells & sandbags. Modern cardio equipment with full connectivity. Staff are friendly and make an effort to keep the place very clean. Good value membership rates and an excellent option to have access to gyms across the world when travelling.
Fantastic experience: Great gym. It is perfect for beginners and has a large range of equipment such as resistant bands so you do not need to invest and spend more. There are also a bunch of cardio machines and boxing bags if you would like to try something a bit different. Unlike other gyms, the staff are friendlier and communicate with every member which brings a welcoming and motivational atmosphere. There is a changing room, multiple bathrooms and it is usually not very busy so it is rare to wait for equipment which makes working out efficient and easier. The only noticeable downside is that the WiFi connection may be inconsistent so you should download things beforehand. Other than that, you can book a free day pass where you will be toured so be sure to check it out. Overall, a positive experience with great and chilled staff and equipment. I am looking forward to getting stronger and surprising the staff even more!
Fantastic experience: Gym itself isn’t massive but has everything you need, and it’s well located for people who work in the east of the city. Staff are very friendly, always greet you with a smile and are happy to make provide pointers or assistance if asked. Lee (the gym manager) is a proper good bloke as well.

Negative experience: I made a six month contract which started in June. It should have then cancelled on November. I called in October to have this cancelled and the person who spoke to me told me to call after my November payment and now the manager is saying to me why did I not call a month ahead they will now take another months payment? When I only made a six month contract? Seems like they are in desperate need of that extra months direct debit. Such disgraceful behaviour. The manager should be sure to be training the staff as everyone has a different thing to say. On top of that the gym is all cramped up. Stay away!
Negative experience: This place allows their personal trainers like Steph McNeil to record and post videos making fun of people just because they stepped in front of her camera while she was working out. She and this establishment NEED TO DO BETTER!

Positive experience: A small place, so it’s a bit smelly and crowded.
Negative experience: Edit: In addition to the complaint of membership contract, I have been asking for official receipts/invoices for all of the monthly payments, and I have never gotten a reply on that. Was tricked into a contract and now apparently I can’t cancel for another 8 months. Manager at the beginning orally agreed to a contract of £26 per month, however when communicating through email, he says he does not recall and insisted the offer was £36 per month. I was also on a rolling based contract. I use the gym maybe one week per month since half the time I reside in another country. And this is the result.
Hi Bella, I am sorry to read your 1 star review and comments. I have looked at your profile notes and the email communication between staff and yourself. I can see you were on a higher rate on your 3month membership which did indeed go into a rolling monthly contract after the 3 months. One of the offers made to you at that time of joining was if you liked the gym we can switch the 3month contract to a 9 month but honour the 12 month price point thus saving you money each month. We have never offered such a low of £26 a month which we also communicated in email to you, even our pre-opening offers (before the club was built) were a lot higher then £26. Our 12 month membership is at £44.99 but we offered you £36 as a loyal member, making clear the 9 month contract twice, which you agreed to, at which point staff updated your contract and requested you to sign it. You also signed the new contract accepting the terms and new revised committed end date. You are now 1 month into that contract and wanting to cancel and the team confirmed to you they are unable to action a cancellation due to the update you requested and accepted which is on the system. We followed everything in line with your requirements. The 1 star review is therefore not reflective of how we worked to get you the better deal and continue your fitness journey. We do have the option to freeze per month if you feel you need that but you also have access to 5000+ AF clubs around the world with your membership, simply fob in and use any AF club nearest to you its one of the biggest advantages of being an AF Member. You have also been provided all receipts in the same email where you agreed to switch to the 9 month contract allowing you to get it reimbursed from your work. I am sorry you feel otherwise but please review your emails I have forwarded back to you. Thanks Abs Owner
Fantastic experience: Twenty four hour gym part of the Anytime Fitness brand. Conveniently located in central London , near Aldgate tube and city offices, the gym staff and management listen to feedback and proactively work to resolve any issues. Good range of equipment, including at least four squat racks and lots of cardio equipment, including running, cycle machines and a rowing machine. There is also a conditioning area which includes battle ropes and boxing bags. Edit: this review has gone from 4 stars to 5 stars since a number of longstanding suggestions were recently taken on board.

Fantastic experience: Having been a member for over a year now, I have to say it's been one of the best gyms I have trained in during an adult lifetime of gym use. Great kit and a team of very professional staff members. What I really like here is not only do they have all the equipment’s you would expect a gym to have but they also have a section for people who want to improve their boxing. If you're looking for a great place to work out, with amazing people, well-maintained and clean equipment, and an atmosphere that promotes working hard and getting good results, this is the place for you.

Negative experience: This review is based not upon the staff as there were none present at 6.30am, which I wasn't aware of and as I checked in using the "gymhub" app i couldn't get in and had to sneak in behind someone else, the gym itself isn't too bad , very limited and several machines out of use which was about 25% . The air con was on but blowing warm so all the sliding doors were open , the main door at ground level was out if use meaning the fire exit at gym level was wedged open and the rich aromas of cooking from surrounding homes was wafting through, I decided to cut my session short to get out of the place and its wise I did , there was a 20 minuite wait for the 2 shower rooms in use , the shower room was the filthiest facility I have ever used in a gym, all the lights in the changing area were out meaning you had to get ready in darkness , there was no loo roll, some unpleasantries left in the loo, a sink and bin full of rubbish , If I didn't have to shower and get ready I wouldn't off, I didn't even put my bag on the floor it was so disgusting, I spoke to a few regulars who said its always like this and they are not cleaned , honestly I don't know what people see in this gym but this is not the spot. First and last time with this chain , in 20 years of gyms iv never seen anything quite like it, I left feeling unsanitary, i can't understand the good reviews but a warning to others if training and getting ready is a crucial part of your morning routine before heading strait to work , this is not the best choice.
Hi David, I have checked gymhub checkins and you haven't checked into our AF Aldgate club. I think you may have the wrong gym. 1) Gymhub is only used during staffed hours and you shouldn't be sneaking in after members, this is strictly not allowed and as you haven't checked in with gymhub in our club its difficult to answer but I will clarify some raised points; 2) Our showers are cleaned daily as is our club its why we have so many reviews about the cleanliness (which again makes me question which gym you may have visited). The Sanitary bins are cleaned via a service company who visit frequently. The bins in the main gym are cleaned daily. 3) We have 4 showers not two 4) 25% of equipment was out? The only equipment out of use was an upright bike in the cardio area which is awaiting a part from the manufacturer. All other equipment is in use. 5) If windows get opened or doors aircon no longer serves its purpose and we honestly can't ask the people around to stop cooking or making their food for the smells to come in via open windows or doors. We have many office workers who are AF members and also visitors via classpass (4.7), hussle (4.6) and gymhub that also use the showers and club facilities. our ratings on those apps are close to 5* and noted above. I want to wish you well in your continued fitness journey but am not certain you got the right club for the review. Also please refrain in any chain or gym sneaking in in unstaffed hours as you are limited to staffed hours for the gymhub app. Abs Owner

Fantastic experience: I joined here about 2 weeks ago moving over from Urban Fitness close by. I have so say it was a great decision! The gym is well equipped and very clean. Staff are all very friendly especially the manager Lee and Ridge. Also the owner Abs is always on hand to listen to feedback and makes you feel welcomed.

Positive experience: Good selection of machines but poor ventilation makes for smelly and sweaty workouts
Fantastic experience: please set the rule everyone should come with change and a towel meeg for 5 years in anytime halls and I did not see a person with changes or a towel this is disgusting to come into the clean room with all the ice outside it is the only country I have seen where customers come with the same shoes and clothes as outside ♀️♀️♀️♀️ please change the hygiene rules thank you. don't bring anything new to London the people here do not know how to preserve I have traveled to many countries but the population is worse than in London does not exist and will not exist the coolest capital London I am very curious there is really no one to forbid people without adequate gym equipment to enter this means that he will not care about the quality of his room and the fact that everything is new and they all come unwashed without changes in the hall

Negative experience: They made a promise when signing the contract but they keep changing what they said when you ask to leave, they said we could cancel the contract anytime we like and then they said you need to send a email 15 days ago, now according to the contract it become 30 before is you want to end the contract. I email them in November and they still said you need to email us before and you need to pay for February even I return the key.

Unfortunately leaving you key and cancelling your direct debit does not cancel your membership. We explain to every member the process to cancel which is also written in your contract and honor such cancellations which we have done for many members. It's unfortunate you feel you cancelled your membership in November with a 15day notice but continued to use the gym until the 18th January 2024. Fantastic experience: Great equipment and use of space, plus the friendliest team I’ve ever come across! I used the gym for 6 weeks while in London and felt very welcome; someone always took the time to say hello. Would be good to have a couple of additional pieces of equipment like bosu ball and adjustable step but I know the team are constantly reviewing and improving their offering, even after the renovations.

Positive experience: Very clean and modern gym so they have the basics right however many of the cardio machines were out of order which meant I wasnt able to do this part of my workout. Apart from this a good clean environment and hope the machines get sorted soon.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym. I have been going to a variety of gyms of different companies for the past 2 years and I can now say I have found my favourite so far. Pros: - Great quality equipment with plenty of variety especially for the small space - Not overly crowded considering for other gyms in the area - All the gym staff are lovely and happy to help you out - Gym is clean and well maintained Cons: - Price ? albeit I would say its worth the extra to your competing chain gyms

Fantastic experience: This club has just had reopened after a no expense spared, full renovation. It's amazing space, and the majority of the equipment is brand new and all the staff I've interacted with such as Ridge, Georgie and Abs are super friendly and helpful. They have dedicated spaces for whatever style of training you do. Loads of free weights, functional training are, brand new spin bikes, boxing area (2 bags), plenty of squat racks and every type of cable assisted machine you can think of. Bathrooms and overall facilities are all spotless; and they have plenty of paper towels and spray around the machines so ensure everything stays hygienic. 10/10 from me.

Fantastic experience: This is probably one of the best, well equipped Anytime Fitness locations I’ve seen. From travelling all over Canada and the US, this place exceeded my expectations. Lee, the manager, made me feel very welcome and gave me a tour of the gym as soon as I arrived. Brilliant!

Fantastic experience: Great gym! I've been working out pretty much my whole life and I worked out a couple of times with Ridge here (a personal trainer). I hit a plato in my fitness journey and he really got me to improve and reach my goals. The equipment is great and has everything you would need. Good stuff!

Fantastic experience: The new ownership are a breath of fresh air. Equipment is well laid out and private bathrooms are always clean and smell fresh. Manager Lee and his friendly staff are always on hand if I need any assistance.

Fantastic experience: It was great. It's not a very big gym but it has everything what you need for a good workout. The equiptment is very new and of good quality. The restrooms are clean and very spacious. I can fully recommend to come here :)
