Fantastic experience: Beautiful mature course, generous fairways and interesting green complexes. Not too tough, but no pushover either. Fantastic condition considering we've had weeks of rain. Lovely clubhouse too...

Negative experience: The place is fairly good, but sadly I feel I was duped into attending an event they had running. I was bitterly disappointed that the “Antiques and Classic Car Show” they advertised was actually devoid of any Classic Cars whatsoever when I arrived at midday. And to make it worse, the Antiques Fair was three lonely tables in one of the venues corridors… One saving grace, I didn’t pay the £3 entrance fee, thank heavens! I drove my classic car 50 minutes to get there after being assured that it was “definitely on” when I spoke to a receptionist the previous day! Very disappointed is an understatement.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure meeting of filming a wedding at this venue and it was beautiful. The grounds and golf course make an incredible backdrop. The staff were amazing and so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I was also provided with a meal and it was delicious. I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding.

Fantastic experience: First time at the club today. Taken here by my 82 year old neighbour, who is a member here. Ain't played for 20 years lol Tried driving range, putting green, was welcomed by, professional, friendly staff, had a cup of tea at the bar, watched Olympics, lovely place to be. Definitely going back, will review food and try a round of golf ⛳️ Easy parking, disabled access, beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend so far, update ASAP.

Positive experience: The Hertfordshire is a course set around a converted country estate and for which from speaking to members some course changes are in the plans. It has a driving range and practice putting area with some nice slopes across the putting green to test your green reading. It is reasonably well maintained with some very pleasant looking holes playing across water. The biggest challenge however is its tests of driving accuracy being cut amongst some very well established tree lines giving what appears to be from the tee, some very tight angles. When i played it, it was in good condition even though i understand that the club has recently lost its head green keeper. The fairways had good coverage and the greens were consistent which as a weekend golfer is all I'm really after. There doesn't appear to be much in the way of fairway sprinklers though as when i played it was drying out as can be seen in the pictures. It does look a bit tatty around some of the tees as there were no tee or rubbish bins meaning that there were a lot of broken tees lying around. Also there were no ball washers which to my mind shows a more corporate rather than golfer friendly mindset. However this didn't affect the playability of the course and some of my balls enjoyed a good soaking in the water hazards anyway. Whilst I really liked the aesthetics of the course it is quite challenging hence the slope rating with very tight drives and punishing rough. It's a course I'd very happily play again which is ultimately all that matters.

Fantastic experience: Played a golf match there and really enjoyed it. Nice open course and good to use the driver on most holes apart from the par three's obviously. Food was excellent along with the hospitality with a great family atmosphere. ️⛳

Positive experience: The bar and restaurant were very good, and all staff were friendly and helpful. The changing rooms are tired though, and the pool loungers were hard and very uncomfortable. The pools and steam rooms are great.

Negative experience: I’ve played this course many times but recently I booked a round online thru there website on the day I wanted to play I arrived at the course and warmed up as usual but when I entered the pro shop I was informed the course was closed due to bad weather conditions understandable but extremely frustrating as you can imagine. I told them I would like a refund not a credit as I didn’t know when I would be playing there again I tend to play different courses to mix it up. I was told that wasn’t a problem and I would be refunded. Fast forward two weeks since that day I still hadn’t been refunded despite about 4 or more phone calls over that time in the end I went and played a round there cause there clearly wasn’t going to refund me. Some people might not find it that much of an issue but I personally find it quite unprofessional and having to go play there so that I dont lose out on the green fee I already paid. Beware and check before you book online in the winter.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I got married here a few years ago, and working in the wedding industry, its still one of my favorite and most beautiful venues, the staff that we had were exceptional and went above and beyond for us. We had a fantastic day, and still now years later our guests talk about the stunning venue, and their first site of it driving down the drive.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful place to hang out in good weather. The gym is a bit small but its never too busy and has enough to do a good workout. The Spa and sauna facilities are great. Would recommend the cold shower with sauna. Also has a driving range with top tracer for practicing golf. Recommend.

Fantastic experience: First time playing at The Hertfordshire and it didn't disappoint. The staff in the pro shop were very welcoming and the shop itself had a decent collection on offer. The course was in great condition. The greens were true from one hole to the next and gave great confidence with the putter knowing you could trust the roll. The rough was tough. Quite thick and grabby but a fair punishment for being off line. Overall a brilliant course and a great challenge with all sorts of holes on offer. Not too long, not too short. I shot 90 which was slightly better than average for me if it helps give a guide as to how you might get on.

Positive experience: First impressions, not great. Visited the driving range on Saturday 6th May on a rainy afternoon. As you'd expect the range was busy, but quite clearly hadn't been attended to for quite some time as there were no baskets free and people were asking you to empty your basket so they could use it to get balls. The shot tracer's a nice touch, but missing on a lot of the bays. at 5 quid for 25 balls, you're expecting top-notch, but it's far from it. Needs a bit of the money pumping back into the facility as could be so much better...

Fantastic experience: We held my Mother’s funeral reception in the beautiful Colonial room here yesterday. It was absolutely perfect in a beautiful setting. After a difficult morning at the funeral and crematorium, walking into this lovely room, with white tablecloths, flowers, classical music playing and Prosecco waiting was a welcome relief. The staff covered everything including a memorial table laid out with mum’s photos. The catering was generous and plentiful, the staff attentive, thank you all of you for bringing a positive experience to a sad time. I cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you

Positive experience: We attended a funeral wake in a banqueting room . Club set in beautiful soroundings with lovely outlook. As well the banqueting rooms, there were a large number people playing golf despite the rain

Fantastic experience: Golf range is great, especially for older kids (9/10 years old), they absolutely love it. Put card against the machine to get a load of balls, fill up a basket, find a space and fill some details in the screen and it measures your shots. Kids lessons are really good too. Friendly, enthusiastic staff. Loads of different times to suit. Loads of parking. In the summer the restaurant bat stays open longer so you can get something while the kids are having fun.

Fantastic experience: So, it was the venue we used for a surprise party for a childhood friend. The venue was recommended by one of us who had visited before and enjoyed her experience there. Initially getting to book the room, tie down the date and time as well as make payment was a little struggle. They were unavailable to answer our queries due to staffing issues. At the time, someone was off sick and they were short-staffed. Once this was resolved it was smooth sailing all the way. We booked the date, time, room, and then made payments. Got confirmation of the booking. Sorted out the menu options for our guests, the layout of the room and decorations and colour scheme and that was it really! We did not need to do anything they took care of it. On the day, we arrived to see a beautifully decorated room. The staff went over and beyond our expectations. They were courteous and professional, and so helpful, we were all blown away! The surprise was a success and we had so much fun! The end was lovely. They cleared up after us and helped us pack our stuff into the cars. My friends and I were impressed with the exceptional service we received. The food was so lovely, we all enjoyed it. Even though we were running late,(it was difficult to get the celebrant out of the house ) the chef and staff were very understanding and accommodating. The meal time was pushed back 30 minutes and then forward 15 minutes because of the surprise time and the celebrant! They accommodated us effortlessly! Amazing service. I have a wedding planner friend whom I will be bringing back to this venue so she can add them to her list of lovely venues for parties and weddings in London. Thank you to all the team who worked brilliantly to make our friend's 50th birthday surprise party memorable. We are so grateful to have used this place. I am definitely going back there again!

Negative experience: Long time wait for food, soup came no bread had to ask, soup eaten by the time bread came, coffee ordered waited 20 mins after we reminded them. Pretty slow, not normally this bad. Very expensive, although big portions.

Fantastic experience: After playing there course a few times last year I’ve decided to become a member, really great course with lots of brilliant facilities to go with it from there gym and spa to there restaurant. All the fundamentals you would expect from a high class golf country club.

Negative experience: Half the course is flooded in the Winter and most of the course is dead in the Summer. The new owners and manager think a bit of sand in the bunkers will solve it. More interested in spending money on the gym and building houses on the land than looking after the course. Ok for the odd round when the stars align and the course is in good condition. If looking for membership there are far nicer courses locally for the same money.

Fantastic experience: Use the driving range on a regular basis and also take the kids there as they learn their way with the sport. Friendly atmosphere and good value. Top Tracer works most of the time and gives you useful feedback on your shot.

Negative experience: Unprofessional. I booked a spa day and treatment for my wife and her sister at Xmas. The spa is open, then it's closed. Then the treatments are at another location. We have to speak to another person and company and we go round in circles. Awful!!! 1 Star is too high.

Negative experience: Lovely place, food is great and Spa facilities were OKAY, until they took away the cushions on the pool chairs, and now they are hard and uncomfortable, and just makes the whole experience uncomfortable. So had to purchase ouw own cushions. Response form management has been poor, and loads of members have complained. Make sure if booking for a membership you know what you are signing up for.

Positive experience: Its very expensive for what it is and the bunkers are in shocking condition and the tee boxes are unevenand bare in places . The greens are excellent, but for 60 quid a round the whole course should be excellent and it is not

Negative experience: Rude staff and poor facilities. Tea but never open, driving range in need of repair and bunkers may as well be concrete, have been under repair for months. A lot better courses to play locally. More worried about getting visitors than the members!

Fantastic experience: A close friend hosted his 70th birthday party with family and friends here last Sunday. Nicely decorated room, spacious and comfortable with good view out towards the golf course. Everyone thought the food was excellent, particularly the roast beef with all the usual trimmings. Staff were attentive and friendly so overall it was an excellent location.

It was quite busy and the staff were working exceptionally hard….. very friendly and the coffee was excellent complete with two non dairy milk options. Others were eating food which looked amazing and the menu also had some vegan and vegetarian choices. May well come back later!

Positive experience: Good course, but £50 a round is just plain silly. It's like they're saying 'we'd rather you didn't play here'. Easier just to make it members only. If it was a reasonable price £25-£30, would happily play regularly.

Positive experience: Have played golf here for nearly 20 years and I’ve seen it owned by numerous companies. The current work the new owners are doing to the course is excellent. My only gripe is the time it takes to order food and drink. The bar area is always crammed with tables and people waiting and the food always takes quite a while. Also in the last three visits I always notice staff chatting away behind the the bar when they should be serving customers etc

Fantastic experience: My 7 year old son has golf lessons there with Charlie. Charlie is amazing and he has so much patience. He is so child friendly and a great teacher. The range is brilliant if it’s raining and the grounds are breathtaking.
