Negative experience: Lie about the facilities they have and the changing rooms always stink

Negative experience: Not the best experience to be honest. Took me over a week to even join because there is never staff that can help. Other users are so unfriendly, it has a real ‘clicky’ feel, no one says hello or even smiles. Getting a day pass for my partner was impossible, we have to go to the university gym, so I effectively pay for two different gyms when my partner stays. The equipment really needs wiping down, other people’s sweat and graffiti written in the dust is gross. I cancelled my membership after this months payment went out but the QR access code has been deactivated, so I’ve paid for a month and can’t use it. Only thing that was good, was the 24 hour access….

Negative experience: I joined a little over a month ago now and I'm sorry to say I'm very underwhelmed! Firstly, the website for this gym is blatantly false advertising...they still advertise things like the sauna and plunge pool which have been removed, the cafe they advertise is locked up and I've never seen it used, I've never seen the barber room used as anything other than an office. One of the two showers in the men's changing room is out of order and I'm told has been for over a year. the changing room in general is usually in need of a clean and has missing trim pieces. The bins in the changing rooms are lined with council food waste bags...if you're not willing to buy your own bin liners than what else are you not spending money on? most of the time there is no reception which means there isn't anyone to talk to about joining, you have to just sign up online and hope for the best...All this from a gym that has the audacity to charge you over £30 a month. there are a couple other gyms opening up in Aber soon and i know who will get my money, and its a shame because I really wanted Atomic to be better than this. All that being said, I've not had any negative interactions with gym users. they are mostly very friendly and the equipment is pretty good and plentiful.

Negative experience: Payed £30 for a membership and the code worked for one day and then stopped working. A week later they are asking for £30 again. Emailed them 3 times and their phone number doesn’t exist. Not worth it

Negative experience: Is this place still open? Sent numerous Messenger messages & emailed asking for a timetable to look at class timings before deciding whether to join. Zero response. Tried phoning & just rings & rings. I can see from other reviews it was open a month ago but a lot of the equipment was broken, maybe staffing issues & now closed ‍♂️

Negative experience: Always blaring music way too loud you can't even hear yourself think. Poor level of cleaning; dusty floors and dirty mirrors. Staff are unhelpful and that's only when there are actually any staff here, which is rare. Dumbbells only come in 2.5kg increments and an overall lack of equipment across the board meaning that if you don't go when it's empty then you likely can't do the exercise you want to without waiting. Many of the machines are missing parts, such as a cable row machine being held together with an Allen key. The only positive is that with it being a private powerlifting gym the environment is a lot nicer than a commercial gym. But now you can't even get a day pass to see if you like the place. The water from the fountain is some of the most disgusting water I've ever tasted. It's built inside of a greenhouse so in the summer it's unbearably hot and almost unusable for a couple of months out of the year.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, really well equipped. Showers and changing facilities always clean and quiet. Other gym goers are friendly and welcoming :)

Negative experience: No walk-ins. Need to update website!! Been here before last year. It was good but wasted journey today.

Negative experience: They do not answer e-mails, I had to cancel the direct debit with the bank to make sure they do not charge me while they stay closed. Also, poor equipment - only one curl bar in the whole building, no straight barbells smaller than the Olympic one, dumbbells only every 2.5 kilos. Generally not that bad when you're the only person in the gym, but give it a few people and you can hardly do your workout as there's only one piece of each equipment. I guess it's all due to lack of competition in town.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, brilliant facilities. Got your strength/Crossfit type facilities downstairs and traditional gym set up on the 1st floor. There are shower and sauna facilities (although sauna is closed at the moment due to COVID) Membership prices are reasonable and all the facilities are brand new supported by helpful and nice staff Highly recommend anyone who requires good facilities and needs to train in the Aber area

Fantastic experience: Fantastic facility with the latest equipment and includes a sauna and plunge pool to assist with recovery. Staff always helpful with vast knowledge of S&C and nutrition. Recommend to anyone within the local community or visiting Aberystwyth.

Negative experience: The worst gym I have ever been a member of. Rude staff. They will still charge you even after you have cancelled your membership.

Positive experience: Great gym with a modern aesthetic, friendly staff and high quality equipment. A hot tub, sauna and plunge pool add to the whole experience as well as having a barber and physio on site. Can get very warm in here due to lack of windows though they try to combat this with industrial fans and air con machines. Areas for improvement: Could do with a water cooler rather than just a fountain. The weight selection upstairs is a little limited and needs the addition of 10k plates . Overall a great new gym

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with decent equipment. Coffee, shakes and barbers on site. Even got a sauna and ice plunge! Friendly, knowledgeable staff too.

Fantastic experience: I went here with my dad and it's a really good atmosphere, the gym is clean and well maintained and the guy at reception (Tom) was very helpful! Will be returning on our next trip!

Fantastic experience: Don’t think you’ll find another gym like this in Wales. State-of-the-art facility where no expense has been spared to provide the best equipment, coaches and environment to train in. When you go there, you’ll find a range of people - different ages, abilities, etc, who are all there to improve their health and fitness. Varied selection of classes, all of which are taught by highly qualified instructors.

Fantastic experience: Amazing facility. A one of a kind one stop gym, it offers everything you are looking for from classes including stuff like functional fitness and bootcamp. Outside Spa with really clean changing rooms and toilets. Two gyms that offers a range of great cardio and weights area. Highly recommended if you are around the Aberystwyth area.

Positive experience: If the rating was about amount of dirt all over the gym you would definitely get 10/10. I'd be much happier to have another gym in town - without old, dirty machines and lots of dust everywhere. But I must admit that staff is rather friendly.
