Services, Machines and Guided Classes
The Peak: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Excellent facility
Fantastic experience: I went to the aquacise class which was excellent. The facilities have everything you need.
Positive experience: First visit to use the steam room and sauna. £8 not too bad and I found the facilities clean and modern. Will use again.
Positive experience: Great services. And good pool
Fantastic experience: Grandsons swimming lessons. Really well organised and staffed
Positive experience: Lovely steam room sauna
Fantastic experience: This gym is a great place to improve fitness, featuring modern machines and friendly atmosphere. The supportive staff and community around the sauna and steam room made me feel welcome. Throughout my fitness journey, i learned about various workouts through helpful video posts and i especially appreciate lydia and chloe for their encouragement and support in discovering new exercises.
Fantastic experience: Very helpful staff and excellent facilities
Fantastic experience: Very good ice conditions
Fantastic experience: Facilities are great for the price. £30 a month, gym thats getting extended, playing courts, swimming pool with leisure facilities, ice rink and a climbing wall with 20 set wall routes, 6 of these have auto belays. Route setting is generally good, just wish they had bouldering or an overhang section somewhere as its all very vertical. Cafe does good coffee for a reasonable price around £2.50-3
Negative experience: Constantly closing the pool to the public almost every day now at peak times for private clubs and swimming lessons, several other pools in the area that could be utilised to keep disruption and inconvenience down to members whose direct debits pay for the upkeep of the place not to mention the wages of Active Stirling decision makers and employees but nothing, no consultation on this decision or accountability, our facility we do what we want and you'll just need to accept it and use the pool when we let you. The arrogance and attitude from Active Stirling on this subject is breathtaking, don't expect any response or explanation, just radio silence.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place. Take our granddaughter to ice skating
Fantastic experience: The best ice quality I have ever seen in the UK.
Fantastic experience: Nice staff great ice
Positive experience: it's clear that it's struggling with budgets from the look of really temporary looking front desk, stairway siding and broken pool info board but not really important in the scheme of things and the facilities themselves are really good
Fantastic experience: Lovely staff and the place wow... sauna, steam room, swimming pool... it was perfect to feel rested and clean ;)
Negative experience: Great facilities installed for disabled users but very poorly maintained. 3 visits in past 2 months and tracking hoists not working. Reported each time to no avail. Contacted several times prior to latest visit but staff unhelpful and disinterested in ensuring the facility was suitable. Huge distress caused when users unable to get back out of sports chairs into day wheelchairs. Back up manual hoist provided is dangerous. Such a shame that the provisions for disabled guests are not maintained properly.
Fantastic experience: Lovely pool, went for a swim. You need a padlock forthe lockers. Can hire, and get a refund, once returned. Climbing wall as you go in. Skating rink looked great. Cafe on site. Great place
Fantastic experience: Amazing leisure centre. Staff are very nice
Positive experience: Childrens pool is pretty poor
Negative experience: Took 3 grandkids for swim. Middle pool full, clubs booked all day. 3quarter big closed off for learning. Only toddlers pool open up to 3-4yr olds. School holidays you would think open to all . Shambles. Utter shambles
Positive experience: Great public gym with a good variety of classes, equipment and machines. There is a swimming pool with lanes and a kids areas as well as a sauna. Membership costs are very reasonable.
Fantastic experience: Ice rink, climbing wall, big pool and kids pool
Fantastic experience: The splash pool is great and warm. Lovely place to take the kids for a water play.
Fantastic experience: Great pool. Not tried other facilities yet.
Positive experience: Went for a game of badminton worth my partner, my son and his partner, great fun, I've been here swimming before too. Never any problems, clean, tidy and friendly staff.
Positive experience: Visited to play badminton. Quite expensive and very confusing to navigate to find court.
Fantastic experience: nice place for entertainment and exercise as well. Gym, Water pool, ice skating, basketball and more opportunities available over here. Just register yourself and enjoy.
Positive experience: Leisure facility with ice rink, swimming pool and climbing wall. Ring to check opening times. However phone lines rarely manned. Service mixed.
Negative experience: Way to busy, cant do a workout with waiting 20min every time you want onto a new piece of kit.
Fantastic experience: I accidently set up a membership with this gym and i was entirely at fault but they still refunded me every penny, very professional and helpful staff and although I haven't used their gym it seems as though it would be a great gym with plenty of facilities
Fantastic experience: I visited as I went to a power-chair football fixture (Scottish League matches are here). The staff were very good and the facilities excellent. Accessibility very good and plenty parking.
Positive experience: Active stirling are not very good at answering the phone for any queries
Fantastic experience: Watching the ice hockey with the grandweans ,first time for them ,they loved it .
Fantastic experience: Great ice rink for all ages and you can hire penguins or snowmen at additional cost. Great couple of hours spent
Positive experience: Massive arena offering multiple services from swimming and ice-skating to a massive climbing wall and much more. Staff are super helpful, I am especially happy with the ice rink stewards. My child fell a couple times and straight away they were there offering help making sure he didn't need medical attention. Viewing areas and cafe aswell for those not participating. Great cakes too! Would recommend for a family day out
Positive experience: Facilities good when open but tend to be closed a lot of the time
Fantastic experience: Nice little coffee shop to sit in whilst my daughter climbs. Close to home, friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: The Bring Your Baby Fitness classes are amazing! I’m so glad they are an option now. It’s really nice to have an opportunity to work out with your baby. It’s good for you and physically and my baby likes it too! I went to Shams' yoga class while I was pregnant and she was so accommodating, inclusive and welcoming to me and everyone. She suggested modified poses for me and anyone else that needed them like if someone had a knee surgery, etc. She is really encouraging to everyone regardless of fitness levels, injuries, age, abilities. I'm looking forward to continuing my fitness journey at the Peak now with my baby in tow! I also recommend the preschool swimming teacher Dana. My older son attends her class. He’s been really freaked out by water since he’s first bath as a newborn and she’s really helping him become more comfortable with water at a pace that works for him. She’s very kind, considerate and respectful of him and we really appreciate it!
Fantastic experience: Nice little swimming area for toddlers
Fantastic experience: Made use of the Sauna and Swimming facilities: Staff were very accommodating and the place was kept immaculately. Also a very safe venue for trans people imo. Mixed sex changing facilities and privacy cubicles for everyone made me feel extremelu comfortable here. Especially the privacy cubicles.
Fantastic experience: Great basketball ing courts, won 11-7 in 2v2 :)
Positive experience: I try and use the Peak 4 times a week, with great facilities, and for me, good value for money. You hear of so many places closing, just glad it's open for now. Seems to be well run, which helps, with such a diversity of activities on offer.
Positive experience: Very clean, pools are kept well, staff on entry very professional, helpful and friendly.
Negative experience: Website is an absolute joke. Some carry on trying to get booked in for a swim.
Fantastic experience: The Peak in Stirling is a great leisure centre. Really good fitness classes & gym. Nice friendly & helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: A great facility for all of the family. The pool and changing room facilities are always clean and well maintained. A few faulty lockers but these tend to be signposted as faulty. The three swimming pools are great in particular the two pools for kids allowing a range of activities. Other facilities such as the gym, ice rink and climbing wall are all well maintained. The cafe has a good range of food and snack and the staff have been helpful with allergy questions. Good value for money with a monthly membership.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant place. Clean and friendly. Cardio rehab is brilliant run by NHS
Fantastic experience: My son goes to a class once a week. The instructors are great and the equipment is great for his age group. We will definitely keep taking him to the class.
Negative experience: Booked to go swimming this morning with my mum. I have epilepsy so try not to swim alone. Something came up that meant I could no longer make the booking (hurt my neck so can no longer turn my head). Tried to reschedule for tomorrow and was told I had to give 24hours notice to reschedule or cancel.
Fantastic experience: First visit with my son to use the pool on Easter Monday, 1.2M pool perfect size for him, Changing areas clean & spacious,no complaints
Fantastic experience: Everything needed from a leisure centre and more. Very reasonable membership prices. Very helpful staff.
Fantastic experience: I have been going to the Mariner Centre for the last few months now. My five year old enjoys the wave. However for the first time I tried The Peak. I was blown away. Pools immaculate, changing rooms immaculate, staff wonderful. Infant pool warm, trying pool warm, large pool slightly cooler but great. totally loved it. THE PEAK from now on. THANK YOU
Positive experience: Clean and clear pool, well maned by staff. The showers and wet areas are very clean and well kept. Shona the cleaner does a great job looking after the facilities, she is friendly and helpful too
Positive experience: The small pool was perfect, but the large pool wasn't heated or too cold. The sauna was great ,
Fantastic experience: Great fitness centre, you get so much for your membership: gym, pool, climbing wall, ice skating, sauna, fitness classes etc.
Positive experience: Still expensive. Too much emphasis on swimming lessons. Never get the use of the whole pool. Always sectionned off. Fridays are the worst.
Negative experience: Went skating with my young girls and although its wasnt too busy the stewards are not the best. Both my girls fell repeatedly and despite obviously struggling just to stand the stewards offered no help, they just watched as they fell and got hurt, then just stood them up and skated off to catch up on whatever they were yapping about. Surely if they can skate they could at least show learners how to stay on thier feet? Fortunately there are a few good skaters there that did offer some helpful tips and the girls soon picked it up but shame on those stewards. We have since been to Braehead Arena and it was a world of difference. Amazingly helpful staff and have now booked lessons there as Stirling staff need learn some people skills. The stewards may not enjoy their job but at least they have one and catching up on last nights gossip is not part of it. Shameful. Hope the Peak management take note.
Fantastic experience: Nearly a year of membership and without exception the atmosphere has always been good and the staff in all areas so friendly and helpful.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend joining the Peak membership. £25 a month is definitely well worth the money. Access to all the activities.
Positive experience: A well presented place that looks the part. We went swimming here but my god the water was Baltic in the main pool. For the price paid I’m sure they could turn it up a couple degrees in there. It ended up we moved over into the training pool which was substantially warmer. The changing rooms were well presented and there is a sauna and steam room etc in the changing area which I’m sure is lovely but as we had the little person with us we couldn’t try it out. The showers are all private and enclosed so you have the privacy to wash properly which isn’t normally the case at swimming pools so that’s quite handy.
Fantastic experience: 25m pool is good for lane swimming. Choice between Fast, Medium and Slow. Book your lane in advance.
Fantastic experience: Went to Jumping Beans class with my granddaughter, who is 13 months old. Very well run class, with rhymes and singing to start and finish and soft play and climbing apparatus for the children to play safely. The staff were so friendly and nice. Highly recommend.
Positive experience: Good facility. Shame the restaurant has been closed by the council.
Positive experience: Great gym, lots of options for keeping fit.
Fantastic experience: Worth it £25 each for two people gym use and other sports Will be using the free shower water nice and hot
Negative experience: Not recommended. You want to swim? Still Covid restrictions, booking only, but you cannot find any well visible warning on the Wb that you must pre-cooked your visit. Your journey to get there cost you money, but you do not get the service, because you cannot find the most important information about prebooking on the web. It is a shame. The App is definitely working onthe mobile phone. That means you are not able to pre-book. Very unsatisfied
Positive experience: Go skating here with the kids every week. Costs less than some of the other rinks and is a really good size that you have space to practice without bumping into other people. The ice arena is cold and while that may seem to be stating the obvious, it's much colder than others I've been in so gloves are in order if you don't want to end up with numb hands! My only issue with The Peak is that for some reason the reception queue moves incredibly slowly, despite them having 2 - 3 people on, it can take over 5 minutes to get through even a small, queue so give yourself some additional time on arrival.
Fantastic experience: I'm here every week with a club. The facilities are good and always clean. Lots of parking and lots to do. Kids have always enjoyed the climbing wall and ice rink
Fantastic experience: I love this ice rink! Good maintenance, always smooooooth. Came for ice skating, and now a monthly member, as it provides enjoyable experience for swimming and gym as well.
Fantastic experience: To round off an eventful day, it was great fun in family and activity pools. everyone was refreshed ready for next day
Positive experience: If your ice skates need sharpening, do it in advance of your session because they can't do it at the time you need it. They need 5 days and it's £5.
Negative experience: After being very excited to go to the Peak to go swimming I am told they dont take cash only card but as I am only not old anoth for a card I can't get in.
Fantastic experience: Love going here. I have mobility issues so was unsure at first. Staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
Positive experience: Really pleasant environment. Love the swimming opportunity. Happy customer.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities all round. Well maintained. Clean. The pools are one of the cleanest I've seen. Kiddie pools are a big hit too!
Fantastic experience: £1 for showers, £0.20 to use the hair dryers. Sauna & steam are for members only
Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym great people that do the day to day running ,great spin class Great gym all round
Fantastic experience: Fitness hub with gyms, sports halls, ice rink, swimming pools and climbing wall. Wish we had something similar in Falkirk.
Fantastic experience: Great family swimming complex. Must prebook even now, and can get busy. The training pool is a good depth for older kids and the baby area is super warm with a great slide and play toys. Good changing facilities with big cubicles for families and parking spots for buggies.
Fantastic experience: Swimming facilities are good, swim 3 or 4 times a week and the 6am slot is spot on
Fantastic experience: Great variety of pools for different levels of swimmers. Lots of kids as it was half term. Not great that about 20 minutes after getting in the pool we were told we had to move to the main pool as an aqua aerobics class was starting, this could've been explained at reception. Not sure why we were told the baby pool was closing too but re-opened again after 5 mins or so. The main pool is always freezing tho, especially for little ones.
Positive experience: Treadmills, they used to be great but now half the tv’s functions don’t work and most of them are so shaky when running you can’t watch the screen anyway as it’s a vibrating blur. The rowing machines are years old and they stole the only good bike for the bingo wing classes. Moan over, the peak is actually a great place especially for families and the staff are great but I joined for the gym only and Unfortunately it’s starting to go down hill and could definitely be doing with being larger to accommodate the instagram kids taking selfies.
Fantastic experience: Staff are always friendly gym staff always cleaning. you can approach the gym staff for help and advice. Sometimes a little busy.
Fantastic experience: Actually quite impressed with everything they have hear all for £25 which is £12 cheaper than my local gym
Negative experience: online booking system is a joke waste of everyones time, cant phone them either says there mailbox is full and cant accept calls. 1 star
Negative experience: App and website useless can’t get through on the phone and all I want to do is take my son for his first time in the local pool but with not getting through with the terrible booking system or phone gave up and looking else where
Negative experience: Sorry to give such a poor rating because I think The Peak is a fantastic facility & we really enjoyed our visits in the past. However- the online booking system is probably the worst I have seen. The screens & drop down choices don’t seem compatible with iPhone. Impossible to find out what time the public skating sessions take place. I tried calling and it goes straight to voicemail with a message saying “mailbox is full”. We have given up.
Fantastic experience: OMG!! Ever since the 'Stone of Destiny' in 2002, I've wanted to try Curling. Now we live in I eventually got my chance, and what a great place to do it. Great instructor, friendly staff, super cafe. Thank you Stirling!!
Fantastic experience: This review is for the admin staff in the booking office. A huge thank you to Katie, Pauline and Julie for dealing with my request efficiently and speedily too. Thanks again Issy
Fantastic experience: Heated flooring in the changing rooms is a game changer! Lovely facilities for families and swimmers, we especially enjoyed the cosy kids play pool.
Positive experience: Went for baby class with my son, great staff and brilliant early years programme.
Positive experience: More ice skating proficient times needed but you always please everyone.
Fantastic experience: Easy to book via the app. Good dynamic yoga session followed by lane swimming. Facilities clean and good for purpose. Staff friendly and helpful. Fabulous cafe with good selection of cakes available.
Fantastic experience: Was only in it to watch a game of basketball, it looked a good place, friendly staff, parking etc..so all good
Positive experience: Great facilities but the booking website is an absolute nightmare to navigate. It doesn't let you see the time slot you are booking for until you select it and it logs you out when you try to go back. Covid rules have been totally relaxed so don't understand why you need to book slots for a gym session.
Fantastic experience: Took my 4 year old ice skating for the first time (2nd time ever for me) it was quite quiet which was nice, not too busy, they have proper skates for little ones feet (junior size 8) also have the two balde ones to go over kids shoes to help them balance a bit better and get used to it. Have two size supports for kids to use to hold on to as well. Good value I think for a 90 minute session. Intend to go again. I just signed up an account for a pay as you go membership so just pay for the sessions I actually go to. Parking free and there was plenty of space too.
Positive experience: Still alot if restrictions in place. Had to book beforehand. Got a lane to myself. Good, clean showers. Lovely and bright with a wall of windows
Fantastic experience: Fantastic day back at curling great to meet old friends and make new ones . Looking forward to the season ahead
Negative experience: Gone really downhill recently. Prices going up, items left broken and not maintained. Backwards step with not being able to pre-book anymore. Now run the risk of driving all the way there and being told they are full. Cancelling membership now
