Our comment from FitFit UK about Hampton Pool:
Hampton Pool is a fantastic outdoor swimming facility located in Hampton, United Kingdom, known for its welcoming atmosphere and vibrant community. Visitors rave about the heated outdoor pool, which remains a pleasant temperature for both energetic kids and lane swimmers. Despite some busy days, especially during the summer heat, the pool often provides a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle of London.
Key highlights of Hampton Pool include:
- Friendly and helpful staff, ensuring a pleasant experience for visitors.
- A variety of swimming options, including lane swimming and recreational swimming, making it suitable for various preferences.
- Great facilities, including a children’s pool, lounging areas, and a rooftop café that serves a delightful selection of refreshments.
- Moonlight swim sessions, which offer a unique and relaxing way to unwind after a long day.
However, some aspects could use improvement, such as:
- Changing facilities: Many users have noted that the changing rooms are cramped and in need of an update, often suffering from cleanliness issues.
- Overcrowding: During peak times, the pool can become quite busy, leading to crowded lanes and a less enjoyable swimming experience.
- Booking system: There have been complaints about difficulties with the online booking system, which can hinder planning for visits.
Overall, Hampton Pool is praised for its charming outdoor setting and community spirit, making it a popular destination for families and swimming enthusiasts looking to enjoy a swim in the sun.

Hampton Pool: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Wonderfull place superpool Staff very friendly and helpfull. In Top Ten of Greater London Pools
Fantastic experience: Heated outdoor pool warm enough for energetic kids or a lane swimmer; gets a bit chilly if you're the supervising adult. Friendly enough on the door. Relaxed about getting changed poolside - there are a few tables.
Positive experience: Amazing heated open air pool. Not too expensive, but sometimes a bit busy. Facilities are a little dated, but generally in good repair for a public pool. Can not fault the experience whether sun or rain!
Positive experience: Great facility to have locally, but the changing rooms are absolutely dire, not built for people with young children! The cafe has a great selection but not the cheapest. Swimming lessons always run and great price. Parking can be hit and miss leave plenty of time.
Fantastic experience: This is one of the best places to swim, by yourself or with the family. The outdoor pool feels fresh and clean. At Hampton Pools there is also a moonlight swim session, which is just lovely. The outdoor area has an area to lay down and relax between swims and on a hot sunny day this is the place to be if your stuck in London. Hampton pools do time slots so that it does not get busy and cramed with people. Would recommend. Adults £9 - kids £6.
Positive experience: We went for an inflatables session which we received no further information about after booking. Links in the confirmation email led to incorrect email addresses. The weather was bad which is outside everyone's control but given that the session was only 45 minutes long, it would be logical to let people in to change before the start time. This didn't happen and due to lightning, we went in later than booked. There were far too many people booked in leading to long queues to even get on the inflatable. After my daughter and I had done 1 run, the lifeguard announced it was closing in 5 minutes!! Ridiculous! They did extend our time for about 5 minutes so my older daughter managed a few more runs but it was not a success story for us. Hampton pool was not ND friendly, meaning that my autistic daughter had multiple meltdowns during our very limited time at the pool. Would not return and wouldn't recommend the inflatables session to anyone, especially those with ND kids. Do better Hampton pool.
Fantastic experience: Nice pool for training but it’s 36meter pool so it is neither an Olympic nor a semi-Olympic pool.
Fantastic experience: Busy on a hot summer's day! Pavers and patio could do with some TLC but a really nice day out with the kids
Positive experience: Gets more crowded and dirtier every time I go. It’s a nice way to get some sun and pool play with the kids, but not sure I’d go back on a weekend. They cut the pool in half - 3 lanes open for general play and 3 lanes for lap swimming, but the lap swimming always gets crammed into 2 lanes so they can use 1 lane for other stuff (usually seems like 4 people doing swim lessons). This just crams the pool even more. Parking is almost always a pain too - small lot and always full - so be prepared to park far away and walk.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place, lovely staff, good equipment. Met all our needs and got a great jacket The trainer and resident gym man Emanuel is so amazing at his job. If only other gyms were looked after like he does. As a trainer 2nd to none
Negative experience: The staff were friendly but the changing rooms absolutely stunk of urine everywhere, it was putrid. The children's pool also stunk of urine and was incredibly packed. The space seems lovely but it needs a good clean, it put me off entirely.
Positive experience: Pros: large, heated outdoor swimming pool for £9 a swim. Also has a kids pool. Tables and grass area to lounge on plus elevated seating area. Helpful staff and multiple life guards. Cons: cramped and dated changing area and limited showering space. Not enough lane swimming, although I visited at 6pm on a hot day! Sadly people had left a lot of rubbish around the pool area despite access to bins.
Negative experience: Awful management. 12/08/24 online system not working with no explanation even though the system says space available you can't book. Not answering their phone so left message nut no reply. Turn up hoping to book but the manager left everyone outside in 27 degree heat and said it could be an hour wait. The logical thing to do would be let people book on the front desk. They couldn't even manage to arrange this. Instead a large number of people were left in the heat with children.. Terrible management
Fantastic experience: Brilliant staff Not overcrowded Very helpful
Negative experience: No system to tell how long anyone has been here so the pool is extremely busy.
Fantastic experience: Moonlight swim session are ace! Such a nice way to end a busy day at work and unwind with the green surroundings and the moonlight. A really chilled session ❤️
Fantastic experience: Great staff, great atmosphere great place to go.
Negative experience: Can’t book via website as it keeps crashing and no one has picked up the phone for days
Positive experience: Lovely heated outdoor pool. The changing rooms are a little tired and cramped but once you get out onto the pool edge it is fine.
Negative experience: I have been going Hampton pool since I was a small child and I saw it rapidly get worse after Covid years and it just isn’t what it use to be. The worst staff I have ever encountered (including the cafe), unfriendly, rude, uninformed and unhelpful people who can’t even do their jobs properly. Literally the only reason I continue to go here is because the pool itself is nice. The place has had many turn overs of staff since 2018, yet no one employed there is ever good for Hampton. The cafe has basic, bland and overpriced food, the pool offers no other facilities and the changing rooms/ shower is always dirty. Overall poorly run and beyond dreadful staff. The pool however is great and so is the green aside it for sunbathing and eating. I couldn’t even tell of the amount of times I’ve had problems with rude staff here over the years, it’s truly shocking.
Fantastic experience: nice, not too busy
Fantastic experience: Visit for one of the summer concerts. Good venue and a good show from Rumours of Fleetwood Mac. Very much enjoyed
Positive experience: Really nice pool! Changing rooms need a bit of updates. Definitely a retro vibe! £9 is a bit expensive and you would expect more facilities... Yet would still go as it's a nice pool with friendly staff
Fantastic experience: A very nice pool. It has a good atmosphere especially in the summer and the staff and lifeguards are friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: Rude lifeguards that are not professional at all and have zero manners. Toilets and changing rooms are dirty and really need a good clean up. Used to be a lovely place to go for a swim and family day out but clearly not anymore. And to top it off quite over priced!
Fantastic experience: Oh my word. This place is amazing. The staff working there are all so friendly from the receptionists to the lifeguards. The pool is always at a nice temperature and it’s a joy to swim there. Would highly recommend
Positive experience: Brilliant, clear warm water and sunshine followed by a great breakfast.
Positive experience: Lovely pool but they really need to open more lanes for family swims. Only two lanes are opened for up to 50 people, and it gets very crowded, while there are 3 dedicated lanes used by 6-8 swimmers. It makes no sense. I decided to stop going to Hampton Pool until they open the whole pool for family swims.
Fantastic experience: Best outdoor pool in London and Greater London
Fantastic experience: Fabulous open air pool. 36 metres long which is a lovely length for distance swimming. Well organised lanes and was not too busy on the 3 occasions I visited.
Negative experience: Been a member at Hampton pool for about a year and going at least five times a week but now in the process of cancelling my membership… I have seen the place steadily decline over that period…Very unfriendly staff who in all that time have never said “hello, how are you?” etc, never once.. It seems to have attracted a very macho kind of swimmer, always clipping at your heals in the lanes making the swim deeply unpleasant… Not all of us are training for the Olympics..! Regularly now there are at least seven people in each lane. I’ve notice the older people not coming so much anymore possibly because of the bullying nature of some of the swimmers in the lanes which is very sad… The men’s shower area is tiny with mould on the roof..Often filthy toilets.. Sometimes they decide to clean the floor in the middle of the day so you’re dressing/undressing on a floor soaked with detergent.. The one thing they do get right is the swimming lessons…The coaches are excellent…Especially for kids… On the whole the place seriously needs new management and a massive shake up as Hampton Pool has the potential to be amazing but is often a stressful and intimidating place to swim. Shame…
Fantastic experience: Really unique in lace to swim - Great in winter and summer
Positive experience: Everyone is friendly, if you go for the cold shower option then pool is hot Macchiatos are good afterwards
Fantastic experience: Five stars but you have to see it for what it is. It’s a charity run pool that’s providing an awesome outdoor swimming experience. The pool and cafe are brilliant but changing rooms and showers are tired. Go with this expectation and you won’t be disappointed.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful swim at beautiful, spacious pool, decorated with Christmas lights and tree. Excellent C-19 protocols. Really good atmosphere at their Christmas Swims on Boxing Day. Have been visiting for over 12 years and each visit has always been a welcoming and positive experience. ♀️
Fantastic experience: This heated outdoor pool is great for swimming even in winter.
Fantastic experience: Quite a unique place with a history background. Overall a great place to swim with friendly staff.
Positive experience: The pool itself was warm but it wasn't over heated. I went in the evening where the air was really chilly. The anti slip edges are obviously helpful but they can interfere with pushing off the side and and flow of my swim. The changing room was quite dirty and had a strong oudor of faces unfortunately. Changing in there was a very unpleasant experience because of this. There are lifeguards available and reception were nice. Parking is easy and there's alot of it. The pool is situated on a main road so the turning can be easily missed as it's a sharp turn into the car park. The price is reasonable. But I am not sure if I'd go again.
Positive experience: i went there once to use the sauna but sadly they dont have the sauna any more . surely they could have teh sauna on two days a week ? in evening for those who like it ?especially in winter
Positive experience: Lovely outdoor pool. We love it as a place to cool off in the heat. Lots of space to lay down a towel and chill on the grass. There’s also a little snack shack and sometimes a BBQ, though we’ve never seen it open when we’re there. Probably too early for it. It does feel like quite an expensive swim at around £8 per adult.
Negative experience: Recently I’ve found the lane allocation a total disaster. Normally there is a slow medium and fast pace lane. Recently two lanes have been reserved for lessons one slow lane which is full of people basically walking and one fast lane packed with people who really want to swim. There is a large section for non/weak swimmers which I’ve often found virtually empty except on hot days. They really need to ensure there are enough lanes for people who really want to swim and those who stand around or walk in the slow lane should be moved to the weak swimmer section. The staff should be more aware of what is going on in the water and the needs of those who want to swim.
Fantastic experience: Lovely outdoor pool. The staff are really friendly.
Negative experience: Lovely spot, and good facilities but sadly waaaaaaaay too busy. The lanes were narrow and very overcrowded. Got in for a few lengths, and ended up in a traffic jam virtually stationary. Meanwhile the lane up was too fast and busy - too intimidating. Members admission appeared to be uncontrolled / ad hoc which clearly means there is no way to manage crowds. My partner who is a strong swimmer didn’t even bother getting in the pool. And, it is not cheap!
Fantastic experience: Taken to swim as a guest for the first time and had a really great time. Such a well looked after and organised venue so managed to have a very pleasant swim in the beautiful pool followed by a barbecue in the garden! Apparently this goes on every Tuesday and Sunday evenings throughout the summer right next door to the amazing Bushy Park. I think you have to join the club but I have to say I would highly recommend it. A very friendly bunch.
Positive experience: Good pool, it’s just absolutely freezing at night!
Negative experience: Far too crowded despite booking a slot. Half the main pool was cordoned off for lane swimming. Why they do this on a hot weekend when everyone wants to go swimming I don't know. Stayed in the pool for about 20 minutes before my daughter couldn't take anymore of the overcrowding in half the pool.
Negative experience: Do not recommend it at all!! Way too crowded, disgusting showers and changing rooms that no one cleans, and they are way too small. Well basically “showers” is just a tiny room where 3-4 people can shower together there were way too many people and the lifeguards are useless, they don’t watch or manage the order on the lanes so kids just jump everywhere, which is dangerous. Also you need to bring your lock or have 1 pound coin for the lockers. Reception is not helpful at all, they don’t have any cash. thanks to the lovely lady at the coffee who managed to help, alternatively they told me I can bring everything and leave it inside, it is “safe”. With 200+ people on sight I highly doubt that. Oh and lanes were super narrow. Nothing like at a normal pool. Couldn’t be there for more than 30 min had to leave to never come back again
Negative experience: Despite the complicated and archaic booking system don’t limiting numbers. People enter and never leave. Was dangerously overcrowded. The recreational swim area was nothing like in the pictures and you could barely find 1m2 of water to get in to. Rammed in like sardines to make as much money as possible. Was our first and last visit there. Awfully managed. What a shame.
Positive experience: Last day of summer hols and a scorching day. The pool was absolutely packed....or rather, half of it was! The pool has 6 lanes, 3 were taken out and used for general leisure swimming/play and must have had at least 200+ people in it. The other 3vlanes were dedicated to people swimming fast, medium or slow lengths - and had no more than 10-20 people using them. How completely ridiculous is that? One half has 200+ uncomfortably trying to enjoy the pool while the other half of the pool is almost empty. Come on people, get it sorted! Your website stated that the whole pool was available for leisure swimming and the lane swimming finished earlier. Oh and the changing rooms are dreadful and in serious need of refurbishment and enlargement. I look forward to hearing about improvements being scheduled.
Positive experience: Today was a lovely day at Hampton Pool. The car park was completely full. There were very few lockers with keys. The one I chose was broken. Grrrr. Had to move all my stuff to a tiny locker. You need a pound for the lockers. There was a queue for the loos. The lane swim was very busy and the lanes are too narrow. Inevitably, there are people kicking each other. The girl in the café never smiles, possibly she is depressed? Yet it was a lovely day and I was happy .
Fantastic experience: Clean and well managed even on very busy days. Shade available when the sun is relentless Children's Pool warm and well supervised
Negative experience: With such a complicated and archaic booking system with which you have to select an entry time I had assumed that they would be limiting numbers. However when we arrived it was dangerously overcrowded. The recreational swim area was nothing like in the pictures and you could barely find 1m2 of water to get in to. Rammed in like sardines to make as much money as possible!
Positive experience: Although the pool itself is lovely, I was extremely disappointed with the changing facilities. There are no shower cubicles, so if you want to wash your hair and body in private, forget about it. The changing rooms themselves are cramped, and there are only 3 cubicles to get changed in, which I avoided as they smelt like urine. 20p to use the hair drier. It’s a joke. The Pool is seems to be very successful in terms of attendance and cafe’s so I doubt there will be a refurb any time soon but I really feel there needs to be!
Positive experience: Could have a bit more data at site of events coming up. Costume spinner would be excellent. In europe all lidos have one, cheap to run too. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
Positive experience: Little bit run down and not a great deal of parking but open late in summer and very pleasant, not too expensive either. Worth a visit, we will be back.
Fantastic experience: Great venue! Don't miss the summer music gigs!
Positive experience: Pool was very dirty but can blame the bugs and kids for that. Lovely area for lounging.
Positive experience: It was great to use an outdoor heated pool, and it was popular with people of all ages. Needs a touch of maintenance, but I understand it is operated by a charity and they do a great job.
Fantastic experience: Such a wonderful place for a outside swim. Staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the cafe food also.
Positive experience: First visit this afternoon and I will definitely be visiting again soon. Swimming in the open air is so much better than an indoor pool.
Fantastic experience: Attended Witney Tribute night and had a fantastic time. Went with friends and we had a quick swim before performance. Bought food and drink there.
Positive experience: Hadn’t visited in years and was bit disappointed. Lane swimming is very cramped and after paying nearly £9 for 45min session, was shocked that the sauna is closed due to electricity costs (and not even included in high entry price anyway) and have to pay to simply use a hairdryer!
Positive experience: Great Outdoor facility, learnt to swim here 60 years ago so was great to take my grandkids. Clean and warm. Enjoy, and easy parking
Positive experience: My daughter really enjoyed splashing in the small pool. A welcome relief on a hot day! It was quite busy even during school term and we couldn’t get into the car park. Also there were no seats or anything available to put our towels on so I had to leave them on the floor.
Fantastic experience: Great outdoor pool with three lanes set aside for swimming and the other half for those who just want to cool off. Decent food upstairs in the cafe, drinks and ice cream available poolside along with a well kept grassy area for sun bathing. Obviously can get busy during school holidays.
Fantastic experience: It's a great pool. Lane swimming on Sunday late afternoon was very enjoyable because there were 3-4 swimmers per lane max.
Positive experience: Love the atmosphere and enjoying my swimming lessons , great pool , friendly staff ..please make the pool hotter was so cold though !!!
Positive experience: The pool is a cherished treasure of the local community whose continuing survival seems little short of a miracle, so it feels churlish to criticise it at all. The pool is inviting and warm and fully meets expectations. I felt very safe with the number of lifeguards on duty (who were sitting patiently in the biting wind, wrapped up in thick layers of clothing, while swimmers enjoyed the balmy water!) There is quite a contrast between the modern, swish-looking reception and the female changing area, which I found disappointing. It is small and the floor did not look terribly clean (true, it is difficult to be sure when the tiles are grey with grey speckling!) although a friendly member of staff was present with mops, etc. There are only a very few cubicles for changing. As other swimmers were unselfconsciously changing in plain view when I arrived, it did not dawn on me that there could be any cubicles until I had come back from the pool.
Fantastic experience: Fabulous local outdoor heated pool. Staff are very friendly. There is a small rooftop cafe. Along with lane and recreational swimming there are various fitness classes. I have tried Aqua aerobics, great fun and great instructors. They are even open Christmas Day.
Fantastic experience: Lovely warm pool, heated all year round, beautiful scenery and very nice people.
Fantastic experience: God blessed place to come for a swim and re-set, it’s greet we have such a beautiful place in our doorstep! Thank you for the hard work for the last 100 years!
Positive experience: Very good, having a bit of renovation work to the showers currently otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
Positive experience: I Love Hampton Pool for outdoor swimming. It has a 36 meter pool which is sectioned for Lane swimming in the mornings. It does get VERY busy though, I’d say it’s for serious swimmers in the mornings. Later in the day it has more of a ‘communal’ swimming area. Changing rooms could do with being a bit cleaner, the toilet in reception too (it often won’t flush). But otherwise it’s a great pool and place to go swim. In the summer it gets very busy so definitely need to book!
Positive experience: Outdoor heated main pool 36m long. Also children pool with shallow steps. Sauna, fitness suite available. Cafe upstairs with large rooftop patio overlooking the pool. Grassed area next to pool where sunbathing is possible. Free parking but gets busy at peak times - more parking available across the road in nearby streets. Plenty of bike parking.
Positive experience: I love this place and come every week. Like a lot of the women I wish they would refurbish the women's changing room because it is quite grosse. Apart from that a wonderful pool and place!
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you like to pool and have noted your suggestion of refurbishment. We have a strict cleaning schedule which is adhered to and you can find information of our redevelopment plans online which we hope will help improve the change room area
Negative experience: The installation is old and tired but that is not necessarily a problem. It is disgustingly dirty and you get a preview of that from the carpeted area in the reception. The highlight: I noticed a bandaid stuck on the ground near the pool. I will never understand how the people that maintain this place won’t just take it away, this is so gross and unhygienic….
Fantastic experience: A nice train trip to Hampton Court Station. Then the R68 directly outside and dropped off at the Hampton Pool stop. What a great experience we had at this pool. Will be coming again. Only downside was people don’t know why lanes they should be swimming in. Otherwise a great time has by all. Followed by a delicious drink and flapjack afterwards. As an added bonus got to see some Ring-Necked Parakeets flying around too.Thanks.
Thanks so much Will ! We’re so glad you enjoyed your visit to Hampton Pool and look forwards to seeing you again soon. We will make note and keep an eye on people being in correct lanes
Fantastic experience: Great outdoor pool to relax with friends or family. Great space, clean water, changing rooms and showers and easy to book online even on the same day. Coffee shop and parking available, perfect place to be on a sunny day in London.
Thank you so much Mihaela! We hope to see you again soon !
Positive experience: One visit on a hot day, enjoyed water and sitting under a tree and stayed from opening till 4pm very good value I had a senior ticket.,can buy drinks sandwiches. It's a heated pool open all year
Thank you Valerie ! We’re glad you enjoyed your visit! We look forwards to seeing you soon
Fantastic experience: Recently came across this hidden gem that I had no idea how good it was so much so that I came here 3 times last week with my son and had a great time. Pool temperature was great. Plenty of lifeguards on duty. Parking on site and if that's full there's street parking available nearby for free. Will be returning soon. ✌
We’re grateful for your review and so glad you’re enjoying coming along to the pool! See you soon!
Fantastic experience: A lovely outdoor swimming pool. The kids really enjoyed it, especially the 8ft deep end. The cafe is nice but a little pricey.
Thank you so much for your review!
Positive experience: My first time here and it's a Nice pool, hardworking staff, good location. Just abit confusing about the time slots... theirs no one around to tell you your time is up and sadly lots of people take advantage of this, I recommend going early to avoid this because by the end of the day it's heaving.
Thank you Mark! We’re glad you are enjoying the pool, we do tend to allow entry until we close, but will bring your comment about time slots to our next manager meeting Thanks again
Negative experience: While the setting and place are great too many people are let in. I left with my 2 kids after 30minutes. There was no space for then in either pool to swim around. You literally had a space to stand and play in one spot. Not going to go back would rather a leisure centre pool any day if the week. Not worth thd money.
We’re glad you enjoy the place itself, we do get very busy in July and August. We hope you are able to come a different month also to enjoy a quieter pool. Apologies you did not enjoy your visit
Positive experience: I went today on a hot Sunday so as expected it was heaving. Main issue is that even though the session should only be for one hour there was clearly people there longer than hour as most where there when we arrived and still there when we left. I had pre booked and paid so no issues going in. I didn't brave the toilets or changing rooms but my wife said thet were dire. Parking was easy as a spot opened up as I arrived and the parking attendant let us in. Even though the pool was full, the life guards seemed to have it all under control. There was always four of them watching everyone. They were continuously blowing their whistles to get swimmers attention when they needed to be reprimanded. Didn't make for a very relaxing swim. Will return when things are a bit cooler and see what is like when is hopefully not so busy.
Negative experience: Run down, tired and felt filthy - overcrowded recreational pool, limited shade, rubbish left around grass area and lack of modern/functional furniture or seating areas. Single plastic chairs scattered around the pool area, with no nice areas to sit and relax
Negative experience: Unsafe as it was too busy. The pool had far too many people in, didnt feel safe, kids were allowed to dive in, almost hitting others. No organisation in the pool at all on sunny day. Absolutely packed as you were only meant to stay an hour but there was no control about how long you stayed there, pretty sure it completely against safety guidelines about how many people were there. Need to be much stricter about numbers, basically paid to sit on the grass.
Negative experience: Didn't like the place. Car park was nearly empty still they didn't let the people to park. More expensive than places nearby.very rude staff. Not helpful at all.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review - we are sorry that you didn’t enjoy your visit to Hampton pool. We have taken on board your comments to our next managers meeting
Fantastic experience: Lovely outdoor pool. Nothing beats at an outdoor swim in the summer - very grateful to have this place locally. We use their App to book Pay as you Go swims (whole host of payment options available, including membership). Nice little cafe too. Thank you, Hampton Pool!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic little oasis of tranquility. Ideal location for a relaxing swim or laze on the grass. Good facilities for all ages as well as dedicated swim lanes. Gym and fitness studio available and a lovely rooftop coffee shop and restaurant for relaxation.
Hi Martin, thanks for this wonderful review! We’re really glad you enjoyed our pool and hope to see you again soon!
Negative experience: Lovely pool but Not friendly staff, small minded, opinionated and racist towards certain groups of people.
Hi Poppy - thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really sorry that you didn’t have a good experience, we will ensure to take the note of friendliness to our next customer relations training. Regarding the latter, our staff have to be very robust with following rules due to the strong need to ensure all Heath and safety measures are followed. This does sometimes result in people being asked to leave when rules are broken, but we assure you this is not based on anything other than staff adhering to strict procedure - if you wish to discuss this further please email us so that we can help resolve
Positive experience: This pool is great in the hot weather. It wasn't too crowded and the cafe serves a great range of food and snacks. The only downside is trying to prebook a session. The app is rubbish and error coded constantly. I had to chance it without the booking going through.
Hi Genevieve Thanks for the review. Sorry we have had some updates on our systems which has caused some problems. We are working with our software provider to sort these issues out.
Positive experience: We went on a sunny Tuesday out of school holidays but it was packed. If you like swimming in a crowded lane with someone a metre in front and behind, then this is the place for you. It's not my idea of fun!
Hi Caroline thank for the review. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. On hot days the pool does get busy. We suggest swimming early morning on hot days as they are quieter.
Negative experience: Pools ok dirty showers don’t expect to take photos for your day out though I was told I’m not allowed to photo my grandson to show my family I have no idea why worlds gone nuts no alcohol even though there’s a poolside bar no smoking anywhere don’t bother it’s not cheap anyway no seating unless you pay
Hi Karl Thanks for the review. No photography is there to protect everyone privacy. Swimming and alcohol are not a good combination therefore we don’t allow it. The poolside bar is only there for our fundraising concerts. No smoking is to protect others including all the children from secondhand smoke, you can smoke in the car park away from others. We have limited seating on site and on busy days it does get taken quickly. We will look in to getting some more.
Positive experience: Great place to enjoy the current sunny weather, though can get very busy so be warned. Could do with a little TLC to give it a revamp, which I believe is due to happen soon.
Hi Glad you enjoyed it. Yes we are due for a new building at some point.
Negative experience: Very bad experience!!! Place run by amateurs, rude staff! Pool and changing rooms not clean. Don't look like in the pictures, outdoor space is a total mess. I really regret visiting the place. I tried to get in touch with the manager but no one there, and staff didn't care at all
Hi Ensaf Sorry you didn’t enjoy your visit. We have taken your suggestions on board.
Fantastic experience: Great on a sunny day but stupid booking which means the pool feels too full for me liking.
Hi Zara thanks for the review and the feedback. We have purchased improvements for the booking system. We are currently in the process of building them and these should come through over the next 2 months.
Fantastic experience: We had a great time at the Hampton Pool during this year’s heatwave! Nice staff, good organisation, lovely place all round.
Thanks Agnieszka for the review
Positive experience: Really enjoy coming for the late night dips but just a few issues really spoil the experience. The pool is cramped, way too many people able to book for rec sessions/too many swim lanes. Also the changing rooms are foul. There is mould everywhere covering the ceiling and the floors are seriously filthy. It’s really unnecessary for it to be this dirty.
Hi Tai thanks for the review. We have had some works done on the damp issue and are redecorating soon.
Positive experience: The pool itself is fine and the staff are friendly. But the changing rooms are AWFUL. Half the showers don't work, there is mould every where and the floors are constantly dirty and soaking wet. You feel dirtier after you come out of the shower to be honest. I'd bypass the changing rooms and you'll have a nice experience.
Hi Jade thanks for the review. We have had some works done on the changing room and have some more scheduled.
Negative experience: Too many swim lanes so hardly any space for family’s . Regulars are really rather grumpy and give lots of dirty looks if you are slow or not a pro swimmer and you dare to go swim in the lanes with children and God forbid you take a break at the end of a lane they will push you out of the way close to asult! I think this pool needs to decide what it is? Is it a laid back for family’s and occasional swimmers or an Olympic competitive pool?
Hi Keith thanks for the review. We have got some Lane etiquette signs made to help. We try to find the balance between people wanting to swim lengths and have a laid back swim. Sorry the balance wasn’t there when you swam.
