Negative experience: Poor experience, been going for a while only 1 or 2 problems but today my son was banned for apparently having a bad attitude yet the bald guy swore at him. The worker (short and bald) didn’t let him tie his shoe laces and when we rang up he recognised my son despite him not knowing anything therefore we think this is because he is darker than his friends and therefore we believe he has subjected my son racially.

Positive experience: Nice little pool not too busy on day I swam , clean , only gripe I had was there was only one hairdryer!!!!

Positive experience: Everything good but the bald guy is really cocky and annoying and kids cant go in whenever they want to so theres no chance of your kids being healthy and fit would not recommend and if kids would want to lift ok amounts they would say it's too heavy

Negative experience: Really bad staff member one in particular big with a beard really pervy and innapropriate i was going every other day for three months he wouldnt leave me alone so now i feel so uncomfortable even thinking about going back even months after this do not send teenager girls here go to pontefract instead.

Negative experience: Racist Centre Manager Phillip Jackson I have been a member attending Lightwaves Sun Lane Thornes Normanton Castleford for over 20 years. During my membership I've seen people joining in towards end half way through and few mins late. Travelled from Wakefield to featherstone for a booked hitt class was delayed by roadworks and traffic by 10 mins to be refused entry clear cut bias discrimination. Racism. I'm shocked appalled no customer service care empathy , not fit for position powertrip. Equality Diversity is just a tickbox illusion here bias dictatorship I don't see a mixture of Asian Black employees across any of centres . During pandemic suppose to be encouraging exercise here we have situation to cause you issues. Left a sour taste after Cricket investigation at yorkshire grass roots racism problem at sports centre I would like to see where this point is written I to your policy of membership. Will be taking this to tribunal and no way are you ever getting any money from myself again and will be advising close friends community not to entertain this shambolic illusion of aspire.

Positive experience: We booked our daughters into a fast-track swimming course at this pool. The building itself is a little dated and a couple of times when the wind blows through the door it blows the polystyrene ceiling tiles up. The staff are brilliant and have been very helpful and flexible with us needing to change times and wanting to increase the number of sessions they were attending. The pool was very quiet over the half term so at one point our two girls had 1 to 2 tuition which has been great for helping them build confidence and improve. The pool itself is very clean and well-kept. It's clear that the staff take a lot of pride. If the pool gets a refit at somepoint, a coin operated hairdryer in the changing room would be useful.

Positive experience: The sports centre has had a face lift, all new equipment bigger room and modern reception area, but the reason for only 3 stars is the showers are still sub standard out dated with only the disabled one in the male changing room any good at all

Positive experience: Great little pool! The swimming lessons are excellent and the instructor is fab with the children. Changing rooms are kept clean & warm. All the staff are v friendly & professional.

Positive experience: The aqua aerobics class was really good, hard work but enjoyable. The floor of the pool is very very slippy though so really had to be really careful. The pool is a bit dated but clean

Negative experience: Went to the lane swimming and got out after 2 lengths. No lanes and full of people chatting at the side of the pool or doing breastroke, no room to actually swim. Would have done better in my bath. Very disappointed, won't be swimming here again.

Fantastic experience: The staff go out of their way to help and advise on the gym and any of the classes that are available.. if you require any information don't hesitate to ask.. the pool is warm and clean.. the facilities are available for disabled.. parking for the gym is good but hit n miss for pool.. worth getting membership which allows you to use all the other council run facilities in the local area..

Fantastic experience: I've started to train regular at the sports complex and find it has a good range of equipment. Changing rooms are clean as are the toilets (just fix the little water leak). It's a fantastic venue for wheelchair sports basketball and rugby. The large sports hall is kept clean and I believe the rates are reasonable.
