Horsham Golf

Fantastic experience: Our society played here on 15th November. We booked Horsham as we have a few who need a buggy and there is a pathway all round the course and it's in use all year. We started with a full English Breakfast which was delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It was a lovely day especially for November. Course was in great condition. It was dry with no wind infact I went round in a T shirt. Thank You Josh and all the team for a lovely day. Cheers Tony

Positive experience: Another satisfying day at Horsham. My society took. 12 players on Sunday, buggies were limited to the paths due to previous rainfall but that's understandable, greens were decent, as were the fairways. One complaint, and not limited to Horsham, is the lack of sand in the bunkers, almost impossible to get under the ball so ball flight is in the lack of the Gods. Very friendly staff as usual and damn good bacon rolls!

Positive experience: Fantastic course. The groundsmen should feel proud,im a member through playmoregolf and i think they’re a bit snobby about that. I’ve never felt welcome really far from it but the golf course is an amazing winter and summer course. Good price for a great course

Fantastic experience: Lovely golf course. Braved the conditions on a very wet and windy Sunday and the course stoop up just fine. Massive shout out to a couple of chaps in the pics, playing some way back who found and handed my mobile to the halfway hut, where a thoroughly nice (and very entertaining) chap, also pictured, went out of his way to help and even made his way up to us in the horrid conditions to personally hand it to me. I even got a personalised video left Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: Horsham Golf & Fitness is located close to the town centre but you’d never know it. The staff in the pro shop and the bar are all really friendly and helpful. The food in the clubhouse is always great and the cakes and cookies are fantastic. The course is always well looked after and is usually playable all year round. If not you can use there driving range which has flight scope tracking. The putting green and chipping greens are perfect to sharpen up your short game as is the par 3 Firs course. I would highly recommend anyone looking to join a club in the Horsham area to give it a try, as all the members will make you feel welcome. There’s also plenty of competitions to enter including lots of inter club matches. The seniors section is very well supported with numerous comps and matches every week. Also the juniors play a big part in the club.

Fantastic experience: An extremely enjoyable day on the course which is in great condition.The Golf Day Organising team were very helpful and our group had a very good day out.

Fantastic experience: An excellent day out. The phone booking was easy and we were able to negotiate a good price, then updates were sent in advance of the day itself. We were met with positive enthusiasm from all staff - in the pro shop, the cafe and the course marshall..A really nice touch was a goody bag which is apparently offered to all visiting societies. The course itself was in good condition and the layout has a variety of holes; unusually, six par 3s and four par 5s but that added a unique flavour. Finally, one of our golfers had a trolley breakdown after 9 holes and contacted the office for help. A replacement was provided free of charge. Excellent customer service.

Positive experience: Play the Oaks course here on Saturday and was pretty pleased. The first nine holes are fantastic and very picturesque, with nice separation. However, we found the latter holes (and presumably newer holes) are very on top of each other, with numerous fore shouts going on. They are also very open in one large field, so it would have been nice to have some more tree divides between holes like the earlier ones. Regular customer of the driving range which is nice and modern with tracking software, though perhaps some of the bays are too close to each other and easy for someone else to appear on your track map.

Fantastic experience: Our society played Horsham in May 2024 and we had an excellent day. All the staff in the pro shop, catering and on-course were welcoming, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. The course was in excellent condition given that we're only a few weeks on from the wettest winter/spring in many years. The greens were true and consistent, with very few flat putts and some giant, undulating dance floors. The fairways are tight, particularly the front 9, but the challenge is undeniable. There were a few "where's the green?" and "where is the next tee?" moments for those of us playing the course for the first time , so perhaps signposting and markers could be improved, but that didn't spoil our day or affect us giving a five star review. We will be back!

Fantastic experience: Great course for a society day , we had 19 playing and were given space and not rushed on the course Pro shop very helpful and the day kicked off with an excellent full English breakfast. Nigel the Marshall very helpful with some hints and tips around the course. Definitely plan to come back next year

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic day at Horsham golf…they helped us organise a charity day for 40 guys,raising money for St.Barnabas Hospice….Josh and all the staff were brilliant and so friendly , the food was good aswell ,we all had a great time…..we’ve booked for next year !!!

Fantastic experience: The pro shop helped me with a cracking deal when I went shopping for golf prizes for our annual military veterans golfing reunion. Josh went out of his way to make sure our limited funds went a long way - thank you. The golf shop is always very well stocked, the staff extremely helpful and the driving range computerised analysis is excellent. Highly recommended.

Positive experience: Visited the golf club yesterday for the first time. As a person in the golf industry and having visited some of the best courses, in Canada, I feel my reviews are always fair. Tried booking using the online system and it kept hanging when processing a credit card payment. Not a problem, rang up the club and had it sorted quickly. Showed up to a smaller but very well stocked pro shop. Fair prices and very nice staff. My brother in law and I purchased some range balls to warmup before heading out. Great range with the technology they offer you. The data provided can really take you down worm holes of technology, but played perfectly in knowing what my club was doing that day and a reasonable of what to expect on the course. Course was pretty good for December and the U.K. weather. Some muddy spots, a couple small drainage issues, but greens rolled nicely and we enjoyed our round. A nice treat to have the snack shack open for a sausage roll and beer on the turn, that was nice. Restaurant was very quaint, friendly staff and a chat with some members asking us of our round. Overall, a great day, look forward to coming back.

Negative experience: I use the driving range at Horsham. The distance you can hit is limited by a net at around 80 yards and you have to rely of the computer to tell you how the shot went. This I find frustrating as I don't believe it's as accurate as other ranges I have been to.

Fantastic experience: We run a small society and Horsham offer great facilities. Great stock in the shop Great helpful staff Good restaurant and food and service Course is superb and challenging greens and course kept well for all year round golf Also buggies available all year round in winter rules on keeping to the path which is expected but a good path covers full course a good halfway hut with hot food and drink as well as cold drinks. Highly recommend for all players All the best Len & Micky

Fantastic experience: Bloody lovely course for the money. Had a decent breakfast (very deep fried - would prefer to pay a little more and have a oven cooked sausage instead of deep fried). Course was great for the money, and a pretty decent challenge. Might be tough in wet weather as not overly confident it drains away too well. Paid £40 for a round, would have guessed between £60-80 had I have not known.

Positive experience: This is an excellent golf course, unfortunately under threat of redevelopment as a housing estate. A very slow round of golf yesterday, 29th September 2023, just over 4 1/2 hours for 18 holes on the Oaks Course. Two Golf Societies ahead of us with some less experienced golfers, including one who we observed wheeling his golf trolley across the green to the amazement of his playing partner. The 3 ball ahead of us walked in after 9 holes and the 2 ball behind us walked in after 14 holes. I'm Secretary of a Golf Society so understand how frustrating it can be for following groups. Slow play was dealt with by the Course Marshall, but it was still a very long day.

Positive experience: Good Golf Course and the green fee is a good price too. My only criticism would be the egg and sausage sandwich which was barely cooked. I probably should have said something at the time. But being English I didn’t

Fantastic experience: Great course! Super driving range. We loved the computer tracking of our shots. Service in the pro shop is top notch! The selection of balls, clubs, even shoes is one of the best I've seen in a club for some time. Wish we could have gone more than the two times.

Fantastic experience: Challenging but pleasent course, well kept and with sensible prices. 18 hole plus a 9 hole par 3 course, with both chipping and putting greens.

Positive experience: Only used the driving range so cannot review the golf course or bar. The driving range is great, has touch screens and sensors which record your shots, quite fun.

Fantastic experience: I arranged a society day here in August and would like to say how impressed all the players were with this club. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and the course (The Oaks) was challenging and extremely well presented considering we had some very nasty weather on the day. All our group agreed we should play here again soon. Thanks to Joshua and all the staff for helping to make it a great day out for us.

Positive experience: Great facilities. Excellent driving range and the 18-hole golf course is in excellent condition practically all year round. There is also a par 3 course as well with outside practice area with bunkers and very well maintained putting area. Sitting area outside and a coffee and food area upstairs in the main building. The pro-shop is always very well stocked. There is also a gym at Horsham Park Golf.

Fantastic experience: On Wednesday the 19th July l took my J&D memorial golf society to Horsham golf, 25 guys took part in the day, followed by a meal on our return to the club house! The whole day was perfect again, Josh and his staff at Horsham Golf are brilliant, l have booked to return with my J&D golf society on the 17th July 2024

Fantastic experience: Had an excellent putter test/fitting at their Putting Lab which I can’t recommend highly enough. The Pro was incredibly helpful and I learnt a lot about my putting stroke and then he showed me a selection of putters to suit me. There was no pressure to buy but I was so pleased with the results that I purchased a gorgeous new Trihot Odyssey Putter.

Fantastic experience: Great place to enjoy golf with members. The clubhouse is a welcome spot to meet other members in a relaxed non formal bolt-hole. Best of all is the golf course which keeps on giving all of us some pleasant surprises.

The session on itself was a great experience, Martin was really patient and gave me great tips and advices leading me buying a set of irons as well as an hybrid which definitely improved my game. I cannot stress enough the benefits of that fitting lesson. The driving range is great as is the course, definitely recommend them! Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I had a pre marriage golf day with Groomsmen back in May at Horsham golf. Josh was amazing from the start to help me plan the day and organise the golf and breakfast too! The team were the so hospitable and friendly and provided a great pre- play breakfast. The course was fantastic and we really enjoyed the day! Service fantastic, even with a follow up email to say how we enjoyed the day. Fully recommend for a round or if you want to do a bigger golf day etc!

Positive experience: Friendly staff and a generally well presented golf course only let down by the 150 yard chipping net that the driving range was turned into when the land at the bottom of the range was sold off.Not a problem if you like just using the tracking software but if you like to look at the trajectory and shape of your shots you might be disappointed

Fantastic experience: Our daughter has group golf lessons here every week from Dave and Warren, and she absolutely loves it! She's been doing it for over a year and we've seen great progress! We usually wait for her upstairs in the cafe and they serve amazing food. Their hot dogs and full English breakfast are our favourite. Their chips are also so nice and fluffy. Staff are really friendly, especially Reg. We love going there because of the very chilled out atmosphere. Facilities are clean and everything is well maintained.

Fantastic experience: Fabulous course..played it last thursday as in a group of three and we decided to come back on saturday to play again. Both days staff in both the pro shop and cafe so helpful and friendly. Will definately be coming back. 10/10.

Fantastic experience: This is the best golf course I have ever been in! Whether you are just starting golf then you can get a private tutor to help you improve your skills as a golfer or you can hone them on a golf course! The golf courses are well kept and they look phenomenal! To the people who say bad things about the place there will never be a golf course that suits you if you don’t like this one and I really like the cafe upstairs all the staff are friendly and you can get a job there if you are looking for a job! Honestly I can’t think about anything bad for the place because all the prices are fair and they don’t overcharge you for anything! If you are driving then your care is completely secured and safe so you don’t have to worry about that and it is just down good! Five stars from me!

Positive experience: Have played here over winter when local courses are closed, the fairways hold up pretty well in the wet. But played late Summer recently and course is in great condition. I saw new drainage laid in Sep 22 so expect it will be good for winter 23. The greens are ok, very much on the slow side- but hold the ball well so friendly to all. Definitely won't scare you. From the tips some of the holes are quite demanding, it is a great layout with some shortish par 5s that are reachable in 2 for most and a couple of drivable par 4s in the mix. The closing 3 holes are a real let down as short and uninteresting, so it ends with a damp squib but overall is fun and worth the green fee.

Positive experience: Very good driving range and I have bought new irons and woods which have helped my game. The course was unexpectedly good but 17th tee let's it down slightly, otherwise a good course.

Positive experience: Oaks course looks great, the driving range, putting and chipping greens are nice. The par-3 firs course is designed well but the condition of two greens was bad where moles and poor drainage have spoilt the ground.

Fantastic experience: First time playing at Horsham and I was very surprised by the quality of the setup here. The course isn't the longest, and with 5 sets of tees you can make it shorter or longer as you see fit, but the course's defence is not in its length. The key to scoring well here is hitting it straight, especially over the first 5 holes or so where the trees look like they seldom give back stray shots. The course seems to open up a bit after the 5th, although there are still some tricky holes ahead. The par 3 13th, which has water encroaching into the side of the green, is another especially mean hole. As for the condition, the greens and tees are simply outstanding. They really are that good. After the recent drought the fairways at most clubs have struggled, but Horsham's were still playable and appear to be a few showers away from being very good. Away from the course, there are lots of practise facilities available, although the driving range has a weird sort of netting about 50 yards away that you hit in to. The clubhouse isn't huge, but it's very cozy and the staff were very friendly. The pro shop is about as well stocked as any pro shops I've seen recently, and, again, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would I come back? Absolutely. I'll try and make sure I hit it a bit straighter next time though.

Fantastic experience: Had a great time using the state of the art golf range. Fantastic idea to get the younger generation interested. My son loves beating me on nearest the pin and the skins game on a course. Highly recommended for an hour of fun.

Negative experience: With the new net put up for stray golf balls it does not allow you to see the full flight of the golf ball, would not visit again!!

Fantastic experience: I played yesterday and the condition of the course from tee to green is very good. It's a fairly tricky course where you can't just get your driver out on the tee and hit it you have to think about your shots on some of the holes which makes it interesting. Great course and I'll definitely be playing it again.

Fantastic experience: Hidden gem, excellent golf course, very testing, not long but cleverly designed, position instead of length off the tee, undulating fairways, plenty of trees and a splash of water to make it interesting.

Positive experience: A harder test than you'd initially think. Some tree lined holes mean straight play and irons are often a better choice than driver. Greens nicely kept, with speed and turn. Quite tight at the back often meaning going long is punished by a lost ball. Driving range is short, but the tracking devices let you see your shot shapes so could be worse. Nice to have a chipping and bunker practice area too.

Fantastic experience: Such a great facility. I have played this afternoon while being in the area for work. The range is ace and has tracking facility which makes using the range a lot more fun rather than just hitting balls into a field. The pro-shop was really well stocked by the looks of things. The course itself was also excellent. The greens were immaculate credit to the green staff, they were like glass which made putting quite hard but in no way a complaint. I’ll definitely be playing here again if ever I’m down here for work.

Fantastic experience: After my society day was cancelled by another golf course Horsham were happy to take my society on such short notice. Fantastic experience: We held our Christmas society game at Horsham Golf on the 30th December 2021. Josh arranged a great day for our group of 21 players which included a brilliant breakfast, great golf and a mourish post round mince pie and hot drinks..... Perfect! The fact we had three players drop out due to covid the day before was accommodated without any fuss and Josh had also arranged for our prize hole markers to be left on the course for us in advance which was also really helpful. For the time of year the course was in very good condition and was a good challenge.... Although one player managed to score 43 points on the day..... There's always one! One of our groups took advantage of buggies being available for use on the complete track which is a new addition since our last game. The staff in the pro shop, the restaurant, the starter and the greenkeepers our group chatted to were all really helpful and made a very positive difference to our fantastic golfing experience. We've played the course a few times now over the years and this is a brilliant course for a society day..... We will certainly be back.... Hopefully in the summer when the course will be even better.
