Positive experience: Gym - swimming pool - fitness classes- something for everyone and all appears to be maintained and in good working order. Even better it is a charity supporting good causes so why would I put my money anywhere else. Icing on the cake would be a sauna - keep up the good work

Fantastic experience: I went to the Inflatable Fun Swim today with my grandchildren. The pirate ship inflatable is great fun, challenging enough for children 10+ and not too difficult for younger children

Positive experience: The pelican centre. This centre taught me how to swim (a very good skill to have.) I would highly recommend parents to send their children to the pelican centre to learn how to swim. I always had an absolute blast at the pelican centre.

Fantastic experience: I take my children for swimming lessons, absolutely love the staff they are great with the little ones that are nervous. Think a few more showers would be handy as children are shivering, waiting for a shower after a swimming lesson.

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been doing swimming lessons for the last few months at the pelican centre and it is brilliant! She had Tom then Rackel and now Tom again. (Moved up stages) The swimming teachers are fantastic and so calm with the children. The teachers are lovely and I’m so impressed how they know every child in their classes. The staff at the centre are friendly. I recommend the swimming lessons now to all my friends as I think the teachers are brilliant.

Fantastic experience: We go swimming here, my daughter loves it as the staff are friendly and it's usually quiet when we go early Sunday morning. It's clean and you can always see the staff cleaning and wiping everything down. Sometimes the pool is on the fresh side, but last week it was nicely warm.

Fantastic experience: A former cinema transformed into a classic swimming pool in the 1960s and refurbed brilliantly in 2016. I learned to swim here. The lane systems work well for advanced swimmers along one side graduating to groups who swim n chat at the other. A pool that works for EVERYONE. I love it.

Positive experience: I attend baby classes in the community hall here. The hall is big with laminate flooring and all on the same floor as the access which us useful with a pram. The access is through the side door. What would improve the centre is if the side door was automatic, as it is heavy and difficult to get through with a pram.

Fantastic experience: Me and my partner go here to swim. The staff are friendly and helpful, the pool is clean and the lifeguards are very vigilant especially with the covid secure measures in place atm.

Fantastic experience: I've been swimming here for 32 years. I remember the diving boards. Where did they go? Got me arm stuck in the railings of the pool's steps when I was 5 wayyyy before those plastic stoppers were put in. Good idea them... It's a shame the mural was painted over. Brought some colour to the pool area. Decent sized community gym for fair weather gym goers like me. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Positive experience: A great local swimming pool! You can currently book onto swim sessions online. The app is free and easy to use. There's a small shop at reception. The changing rooms are completely separate for men and women. They include toilets (hand and hair dryers are currently out of use due to covid), showers in enclosed cubicles, and lockers (you need 20p to secure your belongings). There are both benches and cubicles for changing. The pool itself is a good size. It's clean and tidy and there's always a lifeguard on duty. There's a variety of pool sessions available, including family and adults only. The Pelican Centre also have a gym, offer classes and personal training, although I've never booked onto these.

Fantastic experience: This is the first gym I've been to and I must say it is quite a peaceful environment for working out. The staff are friendly and so are the regulars. Personal training is ace and it's a great motivator. The swimming pool is your typical swimming pool with many sessions to choose from... family or adult only.

Positive experience: I came here to join the gym. It turns out that my son comes here for his school swimming lessons which he really enjoys. The gym looks small but well equipped. Staff seem friendly and helpful. Free parking on the street outside. I haven't used the gym yet, induction is next week, but I'm looking forward to getting started!

Negative experience: Ok showers only just warm. Cold in the changing room. The pool water could be a little warmer. More so when the children are in.
