Fantastic experience: Best sports village where I used to hit the gym in 2023 during my masters in law.

Fantastic experience: Top notch track and field areas

Atiya Moosa 11 months ago

Positive experience: the facilities like the swimming pool, hall, pitch, classes and gym are great. the cafe food is very nice too. the only thing about the gym is i feel like it is small and there should be a more open room for doing workouts, stretching, and using small weights as its quite cramped

David Sutherland 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: I like it here, the staff are nice and friendly, they know the people I'm taking to swim/gym. Lifeguards are actually spot on, everything is good - only bad thing is sometimes people urinate in the changing rooms & it's absolutely vile, but it gets cleaned up sharp.

Dr Monika Gostic 1 year ago

Positive experience: Great commercial gym with a large cardio section. Personally I'd prefer a bigger area for free weights and racks however it works for everyday gym goer. Great classes and friendly staff

Mr Black 1 year ago

Negative experience: Gym is becoming old, constantly not in use signs in equipment. I report items and it takes weeks to fix. Toilets and changing rooms look like a historical rundown jail, even shower door lock is faulty. Swimming pool is beautiful, as is the running tracks.

Fantastic experience: The best sports complex in Aberdeen. When u enter the building it’s completely out of the world experience with lovely staff and all those facilities well maintained and the only one in Aberdeen with a deepest pool for diving. Really love the place and all the facilities provided.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic service n leisure immaculate customer service have gym , suana, yoga , steam , swimming which often remain to busy may be due to number of classes or events as it's almost Olympic size pool with great price in area

Fantastic experience: Alot of different sport facilities available - they also do summer activity camps for the children allowing the younger generations to learn what sport should be

Werten 1 year ago

Negative experience: Been a few times and would never go except on others' requests. - Got lost on my first visit because it wasn't clear where everything was. - Vending machines require contactless cards so I can't get a drink if the cafe is shut. - Once hit my leg off a sliding door because it wasn't clear which ones I could go through. - One time when I went swimming, it took me about 20 minutes to work out how the lockers worked. - Another time I went to the cafe, a staff member was rude to me for showing up before closing time - something I didn't know because it only advertises its opening hours online. I genuinely don't think I've had a single good experience coming here.

Positive experience: Good and cheap. Please get a hip thrust machine in the gym and some soap for the man's bathroom though

Julia Flowers 1 year ago

Negative experience: Pleasant enough gym but as other have said, not enough equipment. The pool is excellent but lane access is always limited with some sectioned off for clubs, even when they aren't in. Changing rooms for the pool leave a lot to be desired, either rarely cleaned or not cleaned properly. Lots of potential here but certainly needs improvement.

Thasshwin Mathanlal 1 year ago

Negative experience: Very limited workout benches in the gym. Just 6 benches for the whole gym. Not proportional to the number of people using the gym. I don’t understand why the sports village does not invest in increasing the workout spaces when it knows that so many students and staff use the gym.

Fantastic experience: We got membership for a while, can use both swimming pools, hire squash court, table tenis, badminton, all includes, good quality of facility, you can buy some snacks, coffee, juices.

Fantastic experience: Love my evergreen classes keeps me fit and after class I have coffee and catch up with my friends in the gym cafe.

Ivan Felcman 1 year ago

Positive experience: Have had a tournament here just the other weekend, good clean facilities within a modern multi functional spacious centre, the main issue has been the baltic temperature within the main hall - it has been even warmer outside the venue! I understand that its January but playing in such conditions is next to impossible never mind freezing to death in between matches.

Fantastic experience: Best sports facilities . Lifesaver for Aberdonians . Weather in Aberdeen 90% of the year is dull, grey and depressing. This is the only place where we can go and get lots of Dopamine . Pools are really world class and gym too good.

Hossein Hosseini 2 years ago

Negative experience: The worst Gym. It’s so tiny with thousands of students. Never get a chance to train properly.

Negative experience: They promote themselves as family friendly but the swimming pool for 2 yeras old is a joke! Cold water, no shallow water, the smaller swimming pool seems to be closed (only running for classes) , waste of space! Staff not very helpful

HT Vu 2 years ago

Negative experience: Staffs are racist. Access regularly denied to give space to events and club members. Gym is incredibly small.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. Used ASV on numerous occasions. First time I had viewed the Hockey pitch. Went to see my niece play in their penultimate game of the season.

Marci Byrd 2 years ago

Positive experience: Meal deal for students/ members is great, like 3.30 or something for a hot meal, drink, and chips; also very happy about the new water fountains, fills up bottles super fast, but the conventional gym area is incredibly small for the area they advertise to service/ how many memberships they have sold. Free weights area only has one pair of each weight which very troublesome as this is a popular area so you end up waiting a good bit for someone else to finish with the weight you need. The free space/ stretching/ body weight exercises area is also pitifully small with only three designated spaces so if you want to stretch after the work out and those are full you end up either in the queenax area or on the turf and have to move someone comes along to use the sled.

Carolyn Cairns 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Amazing sports Village indoor courts, Olympic size pool wished I had more time to spend there but was only a short visit for SNAGS

Tails Thefox 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: There are a huge variety of things to do here. There are indoor football pitches which is very good for the winter. There is a gym and swimming pool and even an indoor running track. They host very good camps for children and the outdoor area is huge. They have a full hockey pitch and (I believe) 400m running track. The staff are super helpful and if you lose something you will most likely get it back. This place is very good

Alex Mitchell 2 years ago

Negative experience: I injured myself after slipping on the ripped curtain in the main hall, I filled in an accident form and zero response, I have asked at reception on 3 different occasions for a response from Management again no response, I have ask for appointment to see the CEO ,no response .

Martin D 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Brilliant facility and good to see it busy with multiple sports being participated.

Grace Tsang 2 years ago

Negative experience: Personally I don't like this place because of the bad experience with the entrance staff. Their app just doesn't do the job right. Can't believe it's a sports centre (and the app) from the top 30 university in the UK.

Lynda Grant 2 years ago

Positive experience: Very large indoor football pitch, very good but no rubbish bins so people just threw rubbish on ground Otherwise good

Ellen McMurchie 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Visited the café waiting on my daughter who is using the facilities. Bright and airy with plenty of room. For a water..large bagette and a packet of crisps £4.00 ...best value ever... tastes great too. Well worth a visit.

AMG PUMA 2 years ago

Negative experience: Facilities are good, pricing and policies not specially if you are a family and/or not a student. Prices for members grow up while discounts for new members apply. They even dare to send an email notifying membership fees increase and meantime stating will reduce the temperature so you will note a bit cooler inside. Swimmingpool area is dirty and freezing. Water temperature is below average level for children and elderly people. A glacial steam will hit you while prompting to the changing rooms as No sliding doors to isolate the pool from the showers. An stinky pee smelt will welcome you all over the area makes it the most unpleasant experience anyone could ever had specially if coming with children. Policies about book for kids activities are ridiculous.

Hee-Jung Nicka 2 years ago

Negative experience: They care more about their rules than the well-being of the customers. Two thumbs down.

Ain Pe 3 years ago

Negative experience: Place is a mess... 1) Booking system is not working properly thus good luck with booking badminton or anything else... and when you finally manage to book something once every few weeks they mailing you that you can't book few slots in a row. Attached photo is from FULLY BOOKED place (i spent there 1h on squash and nobody attended these courts). 2) Good luck contacting customer service... they only write to you when they want something. 3) Talking to guys on site - mixed feelings, some dont have a clue what is going on but few can actually help you. 4) Guys on-site saying ASV is not Aberdeen Uni gym - but booking system prioritises students over those who pay membership. 5) Swimming facilities often closed due to competitions If only PureGYM had a swimming pool

Brian Moore 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Absolute brilliant best sports village I've been too well impressed

B Juhasz 3 years ago

Positive experience: Clean. Cutting edge. Sometimes all lanes blocked due to sport events. On those days no entry to pools despite your membership is paid. Not even one lane kept for the public. Totally unfair.

Stewart Inglis 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great sporting venue, very helpful staff, cafe was good, an very reasonable priced for that kind of place

B V 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: My second home, I love the place. The facilities are world class and staff members are friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

hamish ho 3 years ago

Negative experience: Unworth playing here. You book a badminton court for 8:30pm - 10:30pm and Had to pay 8.20 online. when I turn up, the Person at the front charged my friends and I 8 pounds each for their day pass. absolute rip off and would never recommend people to book a badminton court here.

Positive experience: Its a great gym and sports center, but coming in is overly complicated and the gym itself is always busy. They seem to never have any open benches.

Cherise Whamond 3 years ago

Positive experience: Great facility, great outdoor track area, has a cafe , large halls, indoor area etc

Daniel Novotny 3 years ago

Negative experience: Arrived today, as a retuning customer. I have used their pool before for years before corona, paid that time around £20 monthly. Now they asking £39 per month and you have to pay for a gym and other facilities even if you are not interested. Obviously gym business not profiting so they found the way how to rip-off swimmers. Shame used to be a good place.

Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities, excellent staff, just all round brilliant

Positive experience: Great facilities with a great assortment of exercise machines but getting to use them is another matter as they are full of students texting!!

Fantastic experience: There for the British Para Swimming International. Staff were very keen to help. Nothing too much for them.

Victor Oke 3 years ago

Positive experience: Never been through to the stadium but it has a conducive and serene atmosphere .. Top notch tho

James Morrison 3 years ago

Negative experience: Arrived for swim lessons at the weekend to find they’d all been cancelled in place of an event. No email, no call, no notification, nothing whatsoever, left in the end with my child crying. Really disappointed and considering cancelling in place of another provider, great facility but poor organisation, would not recommend.

Lucian Ivan 3 years ago

Positive experience: The best sport facilities in Aberdeenshire, maybe not the cheapest but definitely the best..And you have a very wide range of sports facilities to choose from..

Chris Shephard 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: World class facility. The standard of the individual venues are outstanding. The covid19 hoops one needs to jump through are top-tier tomfoolery, but the actual sports centres are amazing.

Mary El Champasi 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: ASV is honestly such an amazing sports centre. I have recently moved to Edinburgh, and I can honestly say that most of the instructors at my new gym do not compare to the ones at ASV. I really missed all of the classes, and atmosphere there. Good times and memories!

monika sakaria 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: A big sport arena. There is something for everybody. Wide variety of gym equipment, big inform soccer pitches and field tracks. There are 2 big swimming pools and access to sauna and steam room. You will love it

Gordon Fraser 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Brillant have to travel from Inverness to use indoor track as there is none their, and trying to get access to the out door track it would be easier to steal the Crown jewels !!

Paul Charlton 3 years ago

Positive experience: Played squash - Courts not the best type, and cold air exhausts onto 1 court, but they're ok. Good that they have 4 courts. Large gym & football facilities.

Vikas Mulchandani 3 years ago

Positive experience: Badminton courts are repurposed for Basketball, Gymnastics and Table Tannis, so quite often it's difficult to find Badminton slots.

M Sarnecki 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: The best place for indoor sports activities with an Olympic swimming pool. Squash, badminton, basketball, table tennis, football courts, running track, not to mention the gym. State of the art facilities. First class, truly, and not just for students. Excellent prices for what you get. Did I mention the sauna, steam room and a separate pool with various level diving boards?

Kristína Benediková 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great gym with a great variety of equipment. The prices are affordable for students. You can do various exercises for strength and cardio. On top of that, you can attend classes which are free with the membership. Don't forget to take your soap with you, unfortunately they don't provide any unlike in some other gyms.

Kris Godsman 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Fantastic centre, with amazing facilities and an excellent gym l. They have a student membership that is cheap despite having full access to all facilities

Jeff Carr 4 years ago

Positive experience: Had a great time swimming today with my youngest daughter who is still learning to swim. Facilities here are excellent, the pool was pretty quiet today, changing rooms were very clean.

Gintare 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Nice place and huge! Very lovely staff, brought my son for teen gym, trainer was super friendly

Jim Shaw 4 years ago

Positive experience: Decent football pitch with athletics track round it. Nice stand for spectators. Cafe nearby. Indoor amenities too. Pretty good all round

Kenny Lynch 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: World class facility between the university, Aberdeen FC stadium and the beach. An inspired joint venture between Aberdeen University and Aberdeen City!

Anjali Suresh 4 years ago

Positive experience: Not enough equipment for everybody to use. In terms of crowds coming there, not much of a difference between peak and off-peak as well. It's always crowded. If you have a workout regime, you can't really use the machines you want accordingly. Their timings are not great either. On Saturdays & Sundays, they only open at 08:30 AM which is kinda useless because they close at 05:30 PM. They are expensive but the facilities and timings are just not up to mark.

Coby Needle 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent venue with very friendly staff, and rigorous cleaning processes in the gym. Varied and extensive equipment selection too.

Marcos Soria 4 years ago

Positive experience: This place has been a big part of my uni life. It has great facilities and it would be 5 stars but it's run poorly. Sometimes decisions don't make sense and it makes the facilities unavailable for way too long. Example was redoing the indoor pitch during term time when it could've been done during the summer or puting weird restrictions during covid. Nonetheless more than worth the membership. I've tried all but the squash pitches so far and everything is a 10/10

Aaron Barrett 4 years ago

Fantastic experience: Started going to the gym here last month, has plenty of equipment and a good atmosphere.

Karrie Williams 4 years ago

Negative experience: For such a large high spec facility it has a terrible online booking system. The website glitches on different devices, often has the same option repeated, locks you out quickly and makes it impossible to actually book.
