Fantastic experience: Just rejoined after a spell away. So nice to see the initial issues this gym had have all been resolved. This is a great place to train, IMO head and shoulders above its main competition, and less than half the price. A No Brainer really.

Fantastic experience: Just went in for a shower as we were camping in wales not too far away, its brilliant to have a membership like that, and use all the gyms in the UK just not sure about Ireland, Gym it self seemed okay no weird smells or anything like that. looked pretty good

Fantastic experience: Lovely gym, good environment for training and getting fit quickly. Plenty of cardio machines and love the training room that is available around the classes. Theres also a free space, like a big square mat where you can train with medicine balls, weighted bags + weighted sled and do circuits etc. I haven't really started on the weights so I can't say anything about that side - it looks like it can get quite busy. I was surprised to see so many people there at 6am. There's loads of equipment so I'm sure you can get a space there each time. It's the cheapest gym around where I live so can't get better around here. The morning classes are ideal, start early and there's freedom to increase the weight or intensity yourself. The instructors are very good and approachable, very helpful and don't mind being quizzed.

Negative experience: Always have a nice time and experience but i never attend during the staffed hours until today and its making me question my membership. i went it as i tend to do with a friend in my jeans and boots and was rudely greeted by a female member of staff who took a tone with myself and friend demanding us change it to appropriate attire or leave now, im affraid this is unacceptable behaviour for a member of staff to be taking when i first walk through the door absolutely unacceptable when times are hard and money for items that rarely are worn. “Comfortable attire” is suprjectibe to myself jeans are comfortable as for boots i wear them as a couple years back i snapped my ankle and struggle to walk in anything except boots so clearly im unable to use your premises

As per our gym rules: For safety reasons, bags are not permitted onto the gym floor and appropriate attire must be worn when exercising i.e. suitable comfortable exercise clothing and appropriate footwear. Clothing such as jeans, boots, flip-flops/sandals, slip on shoes or work wear are not permitted. We're afraid this would not be appropriate attire and the staff do have the right to ask anyone to leave the gym who refuses to abide by the gym rules. Thanks, PureGym

Negative experience: Really over crowded gym. Everyone hogs the machinary. Can't get a work out done because there isn't enough ratio of popular equipment. You're lucky if you get on the decent leg press. 25mins waited for a girl who did more rest breaks on her phone than actual reps to get off the 1...Leg curl for 25minutes. Really bad culture of not focusing on the work out and on their phones. Left and cancelled because this just isn't set up for the numbers of people at all times of day that laze around in there

Fantastic experience: It’s great to be able to go whenever you feel like it. Staff are helpful whenever you need them. Basic gym so members seem less pretentious and more relaxed compared to other commercial gyms.

Fantastic experience: This gym has drastically improved since it first opened and I believe this is due to a change of staff, it's now a very good gym and worth every penny of the membership fee. I've done some classes with Danny and they are always excellent. The only one area for improvement, would be having a cleaning station so people can clean the equipment after use. They seem to have them in every other PureGym so this must just be an oversight, but nevertheless it would be important to get this fixed.

Fantastic experience: Bought a week pass here on holiday from the Midlands. Signup was easy and seamless. I'm slightly confused about the reviews berating this place for being smelly and dirty. This is not the case, it is very clean and the equipment in good condition. I went very late so can't comment on how busy it gets, as it was quiet, naturally. So anyway, the only downside is that there is no PecDec and no lateral raise machine, both of which are kind of important in a modern gym.

Negative experience: Funks of sweat most of the time. There needs to be a better air con system or something to help the air flow. Really funks. The toilets smelled of dried up pee. It's always been a constant mess recently. Many machines / equipment are broke or don't work, i.e., leg press, exercise bikes. The main floor is filthy. Haven't seen any cleaners for the past few months. It's slowly going downhill. And it funks of sweat Edit: Still dirty, needs a deep clean

Negative experience: Far from great. Shower pressure is shocking, so getting clean after a workout is nigh on impossible. When kit breaks it takes weeks to be fixed. Then when it is fixed it’s verging on dangerous - like the cross trainers for example. The locker situation on the male changing rooms is dire. Staff allow members to leave their padlocks on lockers indefinitely, not enforcing the rules = good luck getting a locker in peak times. The changing rooms are almost always permanently dirty too- no surprise when the cleaners hide in there as opposed to cleaning. It’s cheap for a reason. It feels cheap and the kit feels cheap as does the entire experience. Would not recommend and despite being a member for the last six months I’ll be leaving, it’s gone way downhill.

We would like to assure you that we are reviewing feedback and will ensure this is addressed in club. Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment is fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Items cannot be left in lockers after members leave, the locks will be removed and any items moved to lost property. Lockers are available in the changing rooms, and on the gym floor. We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment. We are always keen to receive feedback so we can improve our service, but it would help us if you could get in touch directly to provide more information about where we may be able to improve. The best way to pass feedback on for practical action is always to get in touch directly with the Gym Manager. You can approach them in the gym or leave a comment in the feedback box as this is regularly reviewed and will be taken into consideration for updates and improvements, or you can contact Member Services and we can ensure it's looked into. Negative experience: So many things are wrong at this place: 1) When I bought a day ticket, their computer (not a secure third-party intermediary) took ALL my credit card data including expiry date and CVV, instead of a usual POS payment. 2) When I entered, it turned out that I had to BUY a padlock I would never ever need again for almost the same price as the day ticket if I wanted to store my bag during my workout. I talked to the staff before entering, but they failed to mention this. I wonder why they do not install electronic locks to open by the PIN used to enter anyway. Stingy. 3) No units of measurement or legend written on the treadmills, so you can only guess if it is miles, kilometers, kcal, Watts, METs, kmph, mph, min per km, min per mile, degrees, %, etc. Additionally, they are very poorly calibrated, and the pace is way off, much harder in reality than they say. 4) No towels, no soap, no basic service. It all feels like what ONLY matters is to make everything as simple and comfortable as possible for THEM, the overly budget-conscious management. They should put 'Bring your own padlock, towel and soap' in their ads. If this is supposed to be the gym of the future, ditch the future for the present, and choose another club with a decent level of service.

Negative experience: Been a client of yours since the gym opened in Bangor. When I arrived at the training session on Wednesday, the locker where I kept my things had neither a lock nor my things. When I approached the employee, she said that the employees had torn off all the locks and all the things in them, well, in a pile of all my things, there was nothing. Your employee could not help with anything, in the end I was left without my things.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym! The gym has a great variety of equipment that can cater to everyone. It also has a very wide variety of experience levels between members. You have complete beginners all the way through to advanced trainers. It's a great mix! The membership prices are the most reasonable that i have seen. 24/7 gym access + 35 classes a week at Bangor alone. Access to over 300 gyms across the UK for less than £20 pm.

Fantastic experience: Great gym at a great price. Can get busy at peak times but thankfully I can go before work in the morning when its never too busy. Much better alternative to some of the pricier gyms in the area.

Positive experience: Its cheap, clean and open 24 hours, but suffers from the normal PG downfalls, which are that gym equipment is cheap and when it breaks it doesn't get replaced. It can also get really busy, and when it does, it feels busy unlike what some of the other comments have stated.

Positive experience: Bit of an overspill from Bangor uni. Okay gym . But students Constantly just treating the studio like another safe space where they can sit and do nothing for hours at a time . Bit weird when your tryna workout

Fantastic experience: Brilliant place. Lots of choice from machines to free weights but if that's not what you like you can try the fitness classes instead the staff here are brilliant and know what they're talking about.

Fantastic experience: I use puregyms all over the UK.. this one is by far the cleanest toilets Spotless (fyi means toilet seat needs fixing ) The gym floor was the tidiest I've seen and the staff were still cleaning up the weights nice work

Fantastic experience: Surprisingly well equipped considering the low cost of the monthly membership fee, decent free weights section, good selection of classes, staff very friendly and the place felt spacious and clean (though it did only open a few days ago, so you'd hope it would be clean!).
