Positive experience: Sack the cleaning company. This place hasn't had a thorough clean for years. Years old dirt on numerous bits of equipment. No cleaning stations for cleaning kit. Do they expect the kit to shed it's skin and clean itself?

Positive experience: I have been a member of The Gym Wandsworth since 2019, and it has always offered good value compared to others in the area. However, I’ve noticed a decline in basic standards over the past few years. Firstly, I agree with others regarding the poor air conditioning, which leaves the gym feeling stuffy, especially in summer—something that affects everyone, particularly those with breathing difficulties or anxiety. Secondly, I had an unpleasant interaction with an employee that left me feeling targeted and hesitant to return for a few weeks, which I’ve already addressed with management. Lastly, cleanliness has become a concern, as shown in the attached photos I took last week, highlighting the dust accumulating on some machines. I hope that the upcoming temporary closure allows for a deep clean and that these comments are taken as constructive feedback to help improve the overall gym experience for everyone.

Positive experience: 3 stars as I think the Wandsworth Gym Group branch is a great value for money - good machines and nice environment. The rating has been lowered for the overall Gym Group experience. I was informed today that this branch was closed (not sure whether temporarily or permanently), no reason given, no notice given. Just paid a membership to be told it was closed and to go 30 mins further down the road? What a joke - please be informed you won’t be able to use this gym at the moment. It is also worth noting the terrible service. The direct debit I scheduled failed, so I sent the money as a bank transfer (which I should have indeed not done according to the Gym Group) but I called them to locate the funds, and they said their account would decline the funds and it would bounce back to me, it did not and my bank confirmed the money had indeed arrived in their accounts. I have provided them with all information, time, card number, bank, transfer number. All I was told over the phone was that is not the way to do it, which I have accepted and apologies for but would like my funds located or refunded. A team has been looking into this via email, for 1 week, still no answer. Very disappointed in this service.

Fantastic experience: Very kind staff I just came in after a long day at work and the lady that works there kindly looked after a big bag of stuff for me!

Negative experience: It is very dirty, so much dust laying around. Toilets filthy. The worst part is the heat inside the gym. The air con is purposely not turned on to save cost so it is usually like a sauna (over 30 degrees inside). People have fainted in the past due to the heat

Positive experience: Affordable and easy. I was in Wandsworth for a month for work and was able to get a membership for one month for £15 (with a discount). The gym was spacious and pretty well equipped. Cancellation was easy too. The women's showers leave something to be desired though, they are drab and smelled like tuna...

Negative experience: I'm not one to leave poor reviews, but my experience with The Gym Group has been awful. I initially joined as a member via their promo at the beginning of June. I used the promo code however the full price was still charged to my credit card. The company admitted fault and agreed to refund me after calling on 3 occasions to complain (they kept asking me to call back the next day). That wouldn't have been an issue if I had indeed received the refund. I called back 2 weeks later and told it should be done within a few business days. I called back again 1 week later, only to be told it should take approx another 2x weeks. So it has now been almost 1 month since being incorrectly charged and I am still to receive the refund. It really feels as though they are waiting until the following month's fee is deducted so that they are paid again before giving me the refund. This has been an extremely disappointing sign-up process. TLDR: I was incorrectly charged when joining and after agreeing it was their error, I have not received the agreed refund after a month

Negative experience: When you get yanga water is say unlımıted how ever when you full your bottle is give only 400ml and ıf you bottle is 1000ml you cant maske it becauce machine ask you to wait 20 min if that why when we register and is says unlimited you guys need to chek this please because is big scam

Fantastic experience: Context: I left Nuffield gym next door as it was taking a huge nose dive; equipment was often broken, facilities always dirty, new management esp Ola and Catrina are rude and malicious etc. list goes on I've since joined Gym Group and found it to be the opposite of Nuffield Southside! Machines are newer and more modern, staff welcoming and polite. And at a much cheaper membership rate! Goes to show, when you shop around. Well done Gym Group. I'm an official Google Local Guide as well as a business myself (see this as a peer-to-peer review). You have my seal of approval, especially contrasted against the god-awful management at Nuffield! Positive experience: Good working equipment and friendly staff and spacious gym floor. Only minus point is where some gym etiquette not observed by some gym goers (hogging a machine for an hour by doing their whole workout there with dumbbells and plates on the side, and then not putting it away after. A flag for staff to keep an eye on)

Positive experience: I like this gym. There's plenty of space and equipment to meet everyone's needs during workouts, even during peak hours. I'll leave one star for future improvement in cleanliness in the gym (a bit picky). There's always room for improvement, right?

Fantastic experience: Gym is great and well maintained! Could do with an additional 30lb free barbell and additional EZ bar, but that would be really the only thing. The gym is a really good local - would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: It's a good gym. Everyone is focused on exercising and polite. Although the equipment is a little bit old, it is very practical and the space is large enough.

They do a great job of keeping the gym as tidy as possible, which is often a losing battle…..(guilty members who leave weights all over the place, you know who you are!!) Iv been working out in the gym for 4 years+ and never had a problem with The Gym Group in anywhere I have been. Not to mention the staff there are incredibly helpful! Would defiantly recommend!

All of the staff and people inside are friendly and are open to help and that’s what so nice . It may get busy at one time of the day but what gym doesn’t have a rush hour

Positive experience: Good gym, could do with some more frequent cleaning as some equipment is dusty and not sanitary. If you believe your gym is clean- i would advise you to take a look at your treadmills and see the 4cm layer of dust on the machines.

Negative experience: I’ve been going to this gym since it was easy gym I got banned last year due to altercation with my brother which it is both of our faults!! But since Ive been banned I’ve been may out to be something I’m not and I feel like it’s unfair and I’m being profile… what I did to get ban was not good but I know people who have done worse and still train there!! I really wanted too sort it out but that’s all out the widow now… I have a lot of respect of a couple pts in there which they always shows me respect and love!! But on that note I would like to say it’s a nice gym but very unclean and they can’t even keep a manger for longer than a year!! Overall the worst gym in Wandsworth

Negative experience: It's a nice gym and nice people but it's dangerously humid and stuffy in the gym. It's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt , my brother had to stop his workout early as he was feeling very dizzy despite having plenty of water and being very healthy. I've felt the same in the gym in the past and lots of the comments are similar. Hope the team are able to address it.

Positive experience: Large spacious gym fully equipped with a plenty of cardio, free weights and machines along with functional zone. 15kg barbell available which is a huge bonus. Large window area for cardio to look out onto which is nice not to stair at a wall. Only downsides are the lack of equipment such as foam rollers, bands etc and that members never re-rack equipment properly

Fantastic experience: The gym is great IF you are dedicated and focussed but for people like me where the gym is hard work the extra push of having a PT is a must. My PT is Szymon and he is excellent at getting the most out of me. He has mentored my daughter for some 8 years and I find his training regimen perfect for me and the results to date .. excellent.

Negative experience: Lots of broken equipment and people don’t take weight off machines or there are lots of weights on the floor. The water dispenser is dirty - the water in my bottle had green algae inside after a few days days lol. If you go in the evening, there are a lot of teenagers who hang out around the equipment in groups, which can be annoying. They use the gym as a hangout rather than a place where you can workout. The gym should look into creating a social hangout spot, if there is clearly need for it. I only go to this gym because it’s the closest one to my house. If there were other options, I would have chose anytime fitness

Negative experience: Claims to be 24h 7 days a week but is not.

Negative experience: Its so hot and humid the gym, and there is zeroair circulation, so it always smells and it's hard to get in a good workout due to the extremely hot air. I've noticed in every google review questioning this that the gym won't address this concern, despite multiple people bringing it up - which shows the company's absolute lack of care for customer experience. Can someone from the gym group please answer what will be done about the terrible air quality in the gym? Why not install stand up fans, or install windows that can actually open? I'd also like to say I emailed the gym group wandsworth about this a couple of weeks ago and didn't receive any reply.

Fantastic experience: Now is time has come to edit this statement. The lift started to work perfectly and I am very grateful for that. Cleaning the men's bathroom could be more frequent. Unfortunately, a small proportion of users are not people but wild animals that leave a trail of dirt and destruction wherever they go. All of uu are very efficient, but this type of bad customer only goes away with high prices. However, most users are very civil used. Thanks team!
