Fantastic experience: First time use and will be returning on a regular basis

Positive experience: Decent gym. Lots of kit. Very helpful staff. Can get very busy

Negative experience: Considering this is a gym you can’t access with the multigym offer, it’s absolutely terrible. Severely under equipped and far too busy; expect to wait 10-15 minutes for any equipment you’re after

Fantastic experience: Clean and safe

Fantastic experience: Probably the best chain of affordable gyms ever to exist! For £30 a month you get a lot more than just a gym and it’s a great atmosphere too. The only downside being it’s often busy and certain times making it very tricky to get a bench, but just that goes to show how well regarded the place is!

Fantastic experience: Really well kept, well equipped clean and friendly gym. Staff are really nice, lots of available classes. Great free weights selection, large functional area, great selection of weights machines and a huge array of cardio equipment.

Fantastic experience: Great place, you have to choose your time outside of spin classes, and if there’s anything going on in the functional areas if you want to avoid peak busyness. You may see some strange exercises going on which you will need to ignore if you have been around gyms a long time, and people with less than perfect etiquette doing lateral raises in front of your bench in the mirror. I like it here, good atmosphere most of the time. Avoid 5-8pm if you want to exercise with fewer customers. Equipment is all new and good quality.

Negative experience: I was in town for the weekend and went here at 7pm looking for a day pass. I couldn't get in the building to begin without a QR code which was useless as I just showed up. Eventually worked out how to get on the website and the price of a day pass was £12:99 and they were only open until 8pm.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym and I would recommend this gym because: -There’s a very open atmosphere, it doesn’t feel too dominating or scary at all, in fact it’s very welcoming. -There’s a lot of different equipment, which is a must have for a gym but actually not as common as you think, the last gym I used had very generic equipment that only helped with cardio, and unspecific equipment for legs and arms. There is a huge range of free weights everywhere as well, more than one section also. -The gym has clear and considerate rules that most if not all follow exactly, and it makes it clear that if rules are not followed you get removed, which puts me at ease as I feel less endangered. -The gym’s locker/shower/toilet rooms are separated by sex- but what makes it safe is that there’s a unique element where after a certain time (in the night) you need pin access to enter so there’s no way for the opposite sex to enter the wrong room and make anyone feel uncomfortable. -You don’t see staff as soon as you walk in. This might seem like a bad thing to some individuals but for many people (including myself) it’s quite intimidating to see a staff member as soon as you walk in who’s usually already in amazing shape to greet you via social interaction. It’s nice that we can access the gym ourselves with the PIN code/ bar code and it means that I don’t immediately feel stress and insecurity as soon as I walk into the gym. -There are motivational messages all over the place! Even when I get a drink from the flavoured water machine it usually says something like “Are those new muscles we see?” Or “Keep up the good work” etc. The walls are plastered with messages about how progress matters and things like that. It personally helps me keep my energy up and keep working out even when I start to give up. Overall I feel like these perks make the gym unique and it truly makes it enjoyable to work out, even for someone like me who struggles with obesity and only started off a few months ago!! The gym etiquette is also very lovely, everyone is very friendly and minds their own business, I feel like the gym is partially responsible for the comfortable community-like vibe for the same reasons I would recommend this gym to everyone.

Positive experience: Only problems are amount of people can cause queues ...can't be helped and that last week non of my sessions were recorded and there is no obvious way of asking why these didn't register. Apart from that great Gym

Positive experience: Nice open plan gym....very clean! Busy between 4pm and 8.30pm mon-fri. But unfortunately missing lots of standard puregym machines?? Some of the missing machines for anyone thinking of traveling there>HACK SQUAT SEATED LATERAL RAISE PLATED CHEST PRESS SEATED LEG CURL

Negative experience: No antibac or tissue stations, and noone wipes their sweat off equipment. Classes are ok but instructors are not very experienced and do not give any additional instructions, like help with breathing properly during exercises. Really difficult to find parking space between 6 and 8pm. Aircon centrally controlled, so gets super hot in spin room and studio upstairs. However, it's big, lots of equipment to choose from & cheaper than all other gyms in area.

Fantastic experience: Good staff, good gym, I wish we had some disinfectant sprays

Positive experience: Could have more equipment such as calisthenics bars, belts for weighted pull ups. Otherwise good gym.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and a lot of fun in the classes. They sometimes get busy, but it's not been an issue to me.

Negative experience: This gym can be great however there are a couple of instructors who turn the music up so loud during their class you can't even hear your headphones. I have politly asked a couple of times if they could turn it down however they are generally pretty rude. The instructor this morning was particularly rude hence me writing a review. A couple of other people were also going to approach him but saw the reception I got and turned around.

Fantastic experience: First visit today. I normally go to another, wanted to try this out. It's massive. The only down side is no hygiene stations, no downstairs toilets or tissue. If you're into the hygiene station you will be better off bringing wipes.. lots of squat ranks, I counted 12 total. Nice big studio and they have bikes for spin class.

Positive experience: I really like this gym and the classes but MY GOD its super hot in there the air con doesn't work! Especially during Spin class and lack of cleaning stations but overall good.

Positive experience: Extremely well equipped by pure gym standards: 4 double-sided poweracks and 3 squat racks - 11 potential places to squat. It was clearly built to compete with the Better Body Group gym nearby - which has like 16 places to squat but is more than 3x as expensive. My advice to this PureGym is to keep an eye on member levels and don’t hesitate to get another squat rack to keep your lifters happy. Anyone with a brain knows the problem with most pure gyms - racks of empty cardio machines and a crowded and under equipped free weight area. One complaint is to fix the heating it’s way too hot! Oh and please buy barbells with a center knurling - it makes squatting dangerous as the bar can slip on your back, especially as it is so hot in there.

Fantastic experience: Clean, great range of equipment, music not too loud, friendly staff. Recommend avoid going while there's a class on in the functional area or cycling studio, as the classes are obnoxiously loud (music, and shouting staff)

Fantastic experience: Only started a few weeks ago. I did two classes which were good, with a mixture of level from the attendees - so not feeling intimidated. I also tried a few machines - good range!

Negative experience: Cookie cutter gym, decent enough, only issues is lack of equipment, hopefully they get phase 2 SOON and WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THE HEATING ON FULL BLAST, you can't train without feeling sick due to the heat! Edit. There's a few bad instructors who teach classes without any safety or care in the world. I discussed this with my training partner and returned home to find an attempted intimidation email stating that I was ridiculing them and its not tolerated. I emailed the manager and area manager both of which ignored the email, I spoke to the manager and she was initially rude, sarcastic and confrontational u till.she realised i had worked for puregym for 8 years and knew the rules very well. She soon changed her tune.The pts are rude and one pt is the boyfriend of the manager who is let to get away with walking the gym floor eating without a care in the world and the manager just allows this. I have since left the gym.

Fantastic experience: Very good set up. Perfect mix of machines and open space for cardio/circuit work. Obviously there are areas for improvement but considering the price it is very difficult to fault.

Positive experience: Nice gym, clean, good atmosphere and really friendly staff. Only downside is expected more machines/equipment. Being how large the gym is the layout is poor with lots of open spaces. Thought they would at least have 2 of everything or more variety in machines.
