Fantastic experience: Usual Anytime gym. Decent gear and good bathrooms. Lift if you can't use the stairs, or if you've destroyed yourself on leg day

Fantastic experience: Good value for money gym. Appears pretty safe - not seen any issues and I’ve been using it for a few years now. I’ve used the weights machines and cross-trainers in the main but there are free weights and other cardio facilities too.

Fantastic experience: Been using this gym for just over a month and I really do like it. I switched gyms to this one because it’s less busy and much smaller than the other one. I love the classes the fitness instructor is lovely and very friendly and helpful. The circuits and pump classes are my favourite at the moment. I do want to learn how to use more of the equipments in the gym, just need to boost my confidence a little bit more. The staff members I have met are also helpful and friendly and we always greet each other when I go there. 5mins walk from home which makes me love it even more. It’s definitely boosted my confidence level and I can’t wait to see progression in my body.

Fantastic experience: I moved to the area two years ago from west London and I can’t say a bad word about this gym. This is a great place to work out because it’s open 24hours, affordable, has an excellent team with exceptional customer service, it’s conveniently located and the equipment is always available and working. I also like the cleanliness of this gym, the staff are always welcoming and polite. Stefan P has been amazing to me ever since he signed me on. I took two months off due to stress, but speaking to Stefan he showed me a duty of care as I was planning to close my membership and resume when I’m in a better position. Some empathy for others from him and encouragement made me change my mind and resume what I missed. So thank you Stefan and the team for making my gym experience worthwhile. Negative experience: I love everything except the cleanliness. The shower rooms and lavatories are super dirty every time I want to use them. Same with the equipment. I am a loyal client who visits this gym every evening but I will change my mind unless there won’t be any changes. Showers MUST be clean! Please, pay attention to this as I tired of saying this every time. Thank you, hope to see some changes in the nearest future
Hi OC. I'm disappointed to hear this. I assure you we will address the cleanliness issues immediately. There have been some staff shortages which may have contributed to this but we will reinstate our standards immediately. If you still have concerns please ask for the owner and I'll personally deal with issues. Update on November: Hi OC, please can you be in touch with the GM or staff to advise if things have improved or not (we don't know your ID so cannot reach out). Alternatively, ask for the owner email and be in touch with me. We hope you are more satisfied as we have been putting effort in on this. Thank you.
Positive experience: Have recently joined. Nice space and facilities but can see already only two squat racks and no bench specific rack will become an issue during busier times.
Hi Corey, thanks for your review. Please note we are not a busy gym with a lower membership than other basic gyms so you won't be waiting around even during busy periods. We hope you'll see that for yourself soon and up your review to 5 star. If you could please discuss any specific equipment request with the staff we will seriously consider these, as we do with all member requests. We have just put in an order for a calf raise as a member asked.

Fantastic experience: I’m sol yoga life, been working here for the past month, gym is great and the people as well.
Positive experience: Friendly staff, not overly busy during late mornings, clean and nice atmosphere. Only negative is the shower/WC rooms are cold and don't have any heating or radiators for towels/clothes.

Negative experience: This is clearly not a good gym and the service is poor. I am not sure how they got a good rating. When we took the subscription, the gym was okay. But the quality has degraded e.g. broken equipments, broken lockers for months (7 months+). And no action since then even if you report it. But they always push that you can't cancel though the quality has degraded. Though they took deposit for the fob and mentioned that you can return and get the deposit back when you leave. But when I try to leave and want to return the fob, they don't want to give the money back. This is a rip off! Just on the back of the reply from the owner - definitely trying to justify his false claims. Even until last week the cycle was broken and this is broken for 7+ months. I had mentioned this to the staff at least three times over the periods and they are also frustrated with the owner's reluctance to fix this. If anyone wants to validate, please ask the gym for a free visit and check. One of the two rowing machines is broken for few months as well. Some treadmills have software glitches. In many occasions there were no hand wash or tissue. Lockers were broken for few months. Definitely trying to do false claims. Also never asked for £30 back instead of £20 which the staff had mentioned twice as refundable. It's best to train your staff in better way rather than blaming customer. I do appreciate that you are a small business. That doesn't justify to provide degraded service and make false claims!
This sir is a completely false and frankly dishonest feedback by you. The truth for the world to note is that this Gentleman asked to cancel, we agreed to cancel. He AFTER cancelling his membership came back to us and asked to be renewed and said he actually wanted to stay on but if he could stay on and serve out the remainder of his wife contract on his account. We said this is highly unusual and would cause us issues with our billing providers but were willing to do so if he paid £5 one off charge which we would incur (by our billing providers to do all of this). At this point he aggressively said he was going to leave bad reviews all over the place. As a small business whilst every good and bad review has a substantial impact on us, we will never succumb to blackmail or lies. It's also untrue that we agreed to a deposit for his start up fob costs. We agreed to and DID give him a whole month for free. This gentleman is an exploiter. For the sake of £5 he has left this slandarous review. And now he is trying it on with false claims that we offered to pay him back for the fob (which we buy from franchisor at cost). We also note how he asked for £30 back from our staff even though he paid £20! Unbelievable. With regards to the broken lockers, we had already informed him that these were fixed. There is no broken equipment. One final crucial point of note: for the first time ever, WE decided to Turn HIM away. Yes, we declined to have his membership renewed. This is the only time we have ever done this for the thousands of members we have signed up and whom have left us over the 4 years since we have been open. The reader can make their own mind up about what would compel a small business which is striving passionately for every single membership sale and to look after each member since it matters so much to our business, to be forced to do this.
Fantastic experience: This gym is very nice and small, perfect if you want to focus on your workout. No long queues for the machines, very nice members, friendly and supportive staff, gym floor and toilets very clean. I would really recommend Anytime Fitness Grove Park to everyone!
Fantastic experience: A really good gym in a handy location. Never too busy and has a great variety of equipment and classes. Billy and Toby (the trainers) provide consistent and fun routines in Circuits and HIIT classes. Spin is always very popular.

Negative experience: I joined anytime fitness on Thursday 20th Jan 2022 & on that same day it was my appointment for “show round” as I was a new member to the gym, which took 1min and they forgot to show me other rooms such as toilets/ changing rooms, spin class room which I discovered it myself. I haven’t used the gym & I’ve ask to cancel my membership with 2 days of joining as I was within the 14 days cooling off period. I was asked to return back the fob in order to get my full refund, witch I have done. I’ve sent multiple emails asking for an update on my refund & I still haven’t received any cancellation confirmation email to confirm my refund being processed. I’ve called in and the staff members seem to have different information about the case. I’m just unhappy with the customers service I’m receiving. Replying back to your comment: 1.Yes I was in a rush as I mentioned & made you guys aware I had an appointment to attend and I was promised i’ll receive an email with my refund confirmation which I still haven’t received. 2. How am I getting faster response on here and no response to my last 2 emails asking for refund confirmation? 3. Yes I called in because I yet to receive a cancellation confirmation email. I gave my information to whom I spoke to and they were unsure about the situation & told me in February a payment is due to come out my account, which I don’t owe. That was confusing to me and they told me they need to speak to the manager. Would had been nice to get a call from the manager or an confirmation email stating that the cancellation is in process or some form of information from the person dealing with my cancellation.
This is completely incorrect. You booked a class on Thursday and then showed up on a Friday. The class was not "cancelled". You made a mistake and are blaming us. This is absurd. We honoured your cancellation within the 14 day cooling off period. When you came to drop off your fob you expressed total disinterest in waiting for even 2 minutes while we were busy on the phone so we could explain you the refund. You just left. When you called back we explained to you we would refund you the fees within 5 working days which is when we received your fund from your credit card payment. This is a completely unacceptable review. As a follow up to your response. We have NO email correspondence from you. Your review, I reiterate is a wholly unreasonable one, and we do not intend to respond to every untrue or distorted allegation on this forum. I understand we have refunded you. We also note that you have redacted and edited your original post and false allegation regarding class bookings probably because it (rightfully) caused you embarrassment on a public forum.
Negative experience: The worse gym i ever went!My husband and my son went to this gym 2 days in december,were free, and after lockdown.They went back to home country in January my son, March my husband.I explained,i contact them,i sent e mails with flight tickets.Talking with different employers,everyone on the end will sort out and still receiving e mails we have to pay the monthly ,payments in arreas as they did not use one day that gym.....stupid and very bad onwers....
This is just not true, Anda. You got in touch with us in mid April and provided tickets in mid May. We agreed to write off all the arrears and cancel memberships. Yet you still were not happy. You refused to pay 1 months notice period. How is that fair on us as a business? How is that fair on other members who do stick to the rules. We have bent over backwards to appease you but seemingly even that isn't enough.
Fantastic experience: Was looking for a Gym to build my stamina/energy levels back up as suffering from Long Covid so joined a few months back as my daughter is a member and its very convenient. Good selection of equipment and with the booking system on the app never too crowded. Staff all polite and professional. Good supply of stuff for cleaning equipment before and after use . Would recommend

Positive experience: Small gym, essential machines for different body parts. Cardio machines. Free weight section also about 2 or three squat rack. Wasn't too crowded. Reasonably clean. Friendly staff.

Positive experience: Quaint local gym with good variety of machines and classes. Bookings usually available, staff are very helpful and easily available on site, phone or email. Have not attended out of office hours but upon signing up a personal fob let's to access the gym 24/7 A variety of changing rooms is available. Only criticism is bathroom facilities could be cleaned more often.

Negative experience: They never remind but keep charging you even after your contract ends, so please be mindful! 1 September update - I can see owner has replied that I demanded and extorted them for a huge discount - this is hugely misleading, so wanted to update the review with my perspective. I have never demanded / even asked for a discount. I was charged for more than 6 months since my contract ended. I accept this is my faculty that I didn’t read the full 4/5 page contract cos the details stood out most prominent on the contract had the specific direct debit end date when signing. All I raised to the owner was to reach out to the customers inactive and after the contract expired before keep on charging for months and months...but his response was “who would ask the customer to cancel” - obviously who doesn’t enjoy free income? In my view this is not ethical. Owner has responded that they sent multiple emails. Those emails were never about my contract and it is the updates on opening and closing of gym due to covid and other promotions. Despite the confirmation that my contract ended in August after sending a request in writing according to the requirements, I’ve been charged again today for September. Really frustrating experience that I have never had before.
You attempted to blackmail and extort us by demanding that we give you a huge discount going forward otherwise you would give us a bad review. We are a business which treats all members with utmost fairness and respect, but will Never succumb to blackmail or such unprincipled behaviour. We live by our principles of fairness and transparency. As for your claims that "we did not remind you", etc. you were in a rolling monthly contract after your minimum term expired, it's in your contract, and you were also verbally told about this when you signed up. You were sent multiple emails too after your contract turned into a rolling monthly. You just forgot to cancel, and then demand us to pay you back because you forgot to cancel. Never has any ex-member taken such an exploitative, unethical stance such as yours.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, tidy gym. I never went during peak hours, but outside of peak hours its extremely quiet which is nice. You can also use the studio for your workouts if there isn't a class on.

Negative experience: do not sign the membership contract, they say it lasts a year and that you can cancel after this time period. What they don't say is you have to do a hand written cancellation, will automatically reinstate payments even after you cancel after a year. They will then also stop your fob from working so you no longer have access to their gyms and still charge you membership every month.
This is pretty unfair, Gareth. You asked for a cancellation on 15th Feb and we cancelled your membership accordingly. Not sure what you mean by "hand written" cancellation request- we ask for cancellation requests to be done in writing but that can be a one line email not your quill and paper! You can I hope understand the reason: to avoid any confusion. We Always reimburse our ex-members if and when on the very rare occasion the cancellation did not proceed on time, there were system errors, etc. We take great pride in treating our members with respect and fairness. We never would deprive someone of using the gym and then charge them for it. This is simply incorrect. Having discussed with the staff, we're somewhat confused and disappointed at this review as in your dealings with us you did not express any grievances whatsoever.
Fantastic experience: This gym is clean and convenient, never too busy and staff are always happy to help. It would be great if there were some heavier weights (barbells up to 40/45kg for example).

We have the heaviest dumbells in this whole area at 50kg, but can certainly look at getting heavier bar bell too, subject to other member demand of course. We will keep you updated on this. Positive experience: This gym is very convenient for me as I tend to train in early hours. The air conditioning seems to an issue as it can get quite fragent at times. The only issue is, is that they need to obtain a licence for 16 and above to be able to use the gym as I would like my 16 year old son to be able to come to gym with me but for whatever reason (probably cost) they are not making any effort to do this, in October when I signed up they were considering this. Other than that I am happy with the facilities.

Fantastic experience: I signed up in October. Really impressed by this place and the staff. The gym is larger than expected and as it’s 24 hours it’s never packed out. The staff are engaging, welcoming and very professional. A hidden gem in Grove Park.

Fantastic experience: I signed up recently and really enjoy this gym. Small but not cramped, it has a fairly homely feel. I haven't if ever had to wait long to use any of the equipment, which is good as it keeps me engaged in my exercise. Jada and Natalya have been very welcoming, ever ready to assist with any queries; much appreciated. The gym is clean too :)

Negative experience: Not a lot of equipment, in the summer was ok with the aircon at max power but now it’s to cold , every time i come i get almost a cold .... and i told the a member of staff and he did exactly the opposite... unprofessional and 2 stars from me ... disappointed
Very disappointed with this feedback, Mircea, and we do not agree with it. The air con is set at ambient 18 degrees. We are not ignoring you but the issue is that, as I explained to you, literally every other member opposes raising the temperature. Why would we hesitate in reducing the air con if it were too strong?: for one, it would greatly reduce our electricity bills! But as explained, literally no one else is saying the air con is too high, and would indeed be very unhappy if we did lower it. Please appreciate the position we are in. Let's discuss further if you would like to.

Negative experience: It's ok. Pros: Good location, great equipment and nice staff and you can get on with your workout without having to wait for equipment. Pros: would be good if there was some varied spin classes and body pump. Not diverse enough and not good value for money given local competitors have a wider range of classes/timetable and use of swimming pool for roughly the same cost. If I'm honest, for me it's mundane because of the lack of classes.
Hi Bee Bee, we are disappointed with this feedback and do not feel that the overall scoring is fair or does justice to the club but nevertheless thank you for your comments. We are constantly revising our time table and have already introduced new additional classes. We will look at introducing pump classes shortly. We are also introducing a new spin instructor in the next 2 weeks. We have a member feedback system to give formal feedback to management which we do promptly address, so if you would like to give more comments please supply this and we will look into them. We respectfully disagree about your claims regarding non-value for money- swimming pool notwithstanding: we provide superior equipment, 24 hour access, cleaner and are much less packed than our competitors. **** Update: the new class timetable is getting rave reviews; our new instructors for the Pump, spin, yoga, circuits are so fabulous. Come and give it another try, Bee Bee ;)

Fantastic experience: Great little gym to come and have a work out in .. the gym has everything you require to reach your goals and the staff are always offering help if needed. The gym has individual bathrooms and always clean. I really can’t fault this gym in any way! I have used this gym at different times and you never have to wait to use any machines, which is always a bonus. Always a mixed crowd as in a male to female ratio. Would recommend this gym to friends and family. Good work guys ♂️

Positive experience: Good gym which is kept clean. Really needs another Squat / bench rack, and proper hand towels! The paper towel machines are always empty, and it'd be nice to have towels to carry round and keep machines sweat free.

Fantastic experience: An excellent gym with great facilities and staff. It was just what Grove Park needed - to have a local gym which is being well utilised in the community. I thoroughly enjoy the Spin classes with Marie and Pilates with Tracey because they are both fantastic trainers. Fantastic experience: Excellent gym so convenient and very well equipped. Nice big selection of free weights, machine's, treadmills and rowing machines. Love that it's 24 hours it's never too busy even at peak times you always get your workout in without having to wait or having anyone waiting on you. The staff are fantastic, always friendly and make you feel welcome :)

Every single member of staff who work here are brilliant, they make everyone feel like part of the club and treat them with kindness and respect. Fantastic experience: friendly staff, great new equipment. Slightly highly priced, but justifiable and as a result its not overly busy which is worth paying extra for. Only gripe is that theres no parking for the gym, but there are parking nearby on side roads.
