Park Farm Hotel & Leisure: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Very nice stay food was excellent rooms were fantastic all the services were great
Fantastic experience: A very warm welcome, room had everything I could have wanted and breakfast was fantastic.
Positive experience: Didn’t stay as booking dot com not dog friendly however found out after there are lodges on the grounds that are - but understand they can’t go in the building. Had a wonderful birthday to attend and staff were efficient. Sadly their swimming pool and spa were out of use during our family’s stay and this was advised of after booking.
Fantastic experience: Didn't stay at the hotel, just met a friend for a catch up, coffee & cake! Didn't realise you could do that so will definitely come again. Beautiful setting and a lovely place to meet. Lemon cake was delicious too
Fantastic experience: We had lunch here. Superb. The food was delicious the staff were lovely, polite professional and friendly.
Positive experience: Myself and some friends went for afternoon tea. On arrival we we meet by a lovely lady in reception and two off us picked up wedding brochures as the park farm looks stunning and first impressions were amazing. The food was amazing for the most part. The service however after we had to complain about something changed. Drinks took forever to arrive, the waitress was polite but blunt. The chef did sort an issue with some sauge rolls that didn't turn up so No problem with that but think the waitress service needs some work!!!
Positive experience: A card left by the management for our anniversary. Room was lovely and spacious Bed was comfortable Negatives: Breakfast was ok but should have been local produce. Orange juice was concentrated and bread was average. Staff - Something is not quite working at the hotel. Serving staff seem to be teenagers and grooming leaves a lot to be desired. The girl in the restaurant welcoming us had big false black eyelashes and shirt hanging out. A small blonde girl cleaning the tables had badly ripped tights and a young boy was tattooed heavily. I have nothing against giving jobs to young people but this is a 4 star hotel and there should be standards. Training and grooming massively reflect a hotel and this was not good. Friendly people but they need better training. The spa - All treatments are not just for hotel guests but for public as well (The same goes for the spa) and so it was completely booked up. The spa was a pool (heavily chlorined), sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Sauna and steam room were good but hardly any beds to sit on and dirty cushions. It was ok but not 4 star. In summary - at £300 a night we expected more.
Fantastic experience: Can't thank the restaurant staff enough. Made a booking online and the follow up emails I requested a romantic table and the staff came through big time. Quite table for two decorated beautifully. The waiting staff were amazing and really looked after us. The lamb was easily the best I've ever had. Will be returning very soon.
Fantastic experience: Really good staff, so helpful and friendly, exceptional, I've stayed at a lot of places over 40 years, but the staff here were amongst the very best I've seen.
Fantastic experience: Our first visit to Park Farm, and I certainly hope it will not be our last! Everything was perfect, with a wonderful room , top class food and a superb staff who could not do enough to be helpful. The leisure facilities are top notch and the hotel complex has so much character. So handy for trips into Norwich, with a reliable bus service into the city leaving and returning within a few hundred yards of the hotel. Our one-night stay has whetted our appetites for a longer return visit as soon as possible. Thanks for a great stay!
Fantastic experience: We went to a family wedding and stayed at the hotel after. The wedding was perfectly delivered by all the staff. The room was perfect. All the staff were amazing! Well done!
Fantastic experience: Joined a conference meeting. Lovely setting, clean and the service good.
Fantastic experience: My wife and I had a lovely 2 night stay (with breakfast included) at the Park Farm Hotel and leisure. It was very easy to get to , 5 minutes from the A47/ A11 roundabout near Norwich. We got to the hotel a bit early so decided to have a look around and was not disappointed, the hotel and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We had a quick drink in the bar before going to our room. Our room was the deluxe family room and was spacious and very clean. We had dinner in the Seasons restaurant both nights and was very impressed with the food. I had steak with béarnaise sauce, WOW it was lovely. We tried out all of the amenities , pool / Sauna/ steam room/ spa and felt relaxed and content after. All of the staff were lovely throughout the hotel, very friendly and accommodating. We would like to thank all of the team and would highly recommend staying here, and we will be back... Hopefully soon .
Fantastic experience: What a beautiful place to stay. The room was lovely. Bed was comfy, bathroom was pleasant. The spa was just perfect.
Fantastic experience: We had a lovely 1 night stay at Park Farm Hotel. We booked through Secret Escapes and it was excellent value, we used all the facilities which were great and had a delicious meal in the restaurant. All of the staff were lovely, and we wanted to give a special mention to the lovely receptionist who helped us out after we had realised we had a left a coat in the wardrobe: she sent it out immediately and we received it safely a few days after arriving home. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: Ideal place to Relax..work..or stay while in Norfolk...has lovely Grounds...Bar.and spa treatments with a Gym and lovely seating areas throughout the Hotel .has 4 disabled parking spaces but lots of parking anyway. Service was pretty good in Restaurant and Bar areas..
Fantastic experience: A little haven of sanctuary set in lovely grounds. Staff are all friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms are well appointed and comfy. Lots of quiet corners inside and out to curl up with a good book or just have a nap.
Positive experience: Met up for coffee. Friendly staff. Pleasant gardens and location. On the expensive side for not terribly hot coffee!!
Positive experience: We stayed for 3 nights. Good stay overall. Staff: Nice and friendly. Location: Good quiet place. Food: Awesome. Had breakfast and dinner for 3 days. Spa: Good pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms. Right temperature. Clean changing rooms. Kids ok in spa pool etc until 6pm. Nice chilling areas and outdoor spaces around the hotel. -1: We were charged £12 to hire 2 spa towels. Should have been included with a room. -1: Bakery items ran out by 9.30am half an hour before breakfast end time. Extra charges for cappuccino etc at breakfast seemed like a cheeky upsell. Slightly uncomfortable in the room at night. No major issues - we will be back.
Fantastic experience: We recently had our wedding at Park Farm and loved every moment of it. The events team was so helpful in every single aspect, from organising tastings, room viewings, and coordinating guest rooms. We had our whole wedding at Park Farm, including the ceremony. The morning of the wedding, I had no anxiety over the running of the day, as I knew the team had it all under control. A lot of our guests also stayed at Park Farm for a number of nights, and loved the venue. The rooms were spacious, clean and very well presented. The food for the entire time was perfect. Every meal I had, from breakfast to Wedding Breakfast was fantastic. The portion sizes were plenty big and they catered for every type of dietary requirement without hesitation. Thank you to everyone at Park Farm, you helped to make our day very special and we will remember it forever!
Positive experience: Lovely place to have a quiet coffee. 10am start
Fantastic experience: What a beautiful place to stay. The room was lovely. Bed was comfy, bathroom was pleasant. The spa was just perfect. Pool was a great temperature and just the right size. Then we come to the food. OMG it was amazing. The most perfect melt in the mouth belly pork, followed by a perfectly cooked pan fried chicken with Veggies done exactly right. Service was attentive but bot intrusive. Thoroughly recommend this place for a special occasion (if you're rich just live here)
Fantastic experience: Incredible hotel! i will recommend to everyone i know! I’ll definitely be coming back!
Negative experience: Decent mid price but in no way worth £300. There was a very loud and cheap wedding happening when I arrived. Thankfully that wasn’t until 11pm as it would have been very unpleasant if we had planned to dine and spend the evening there.
Positive experience: You'd think, after the amount it costs to stay, use the facilities etc, that the location would be great. Albeit, if you like seclusion, it's great, but don't expect a nice walk to the local shops, because it's far from anywhere. The facilities, not much to go by, the pool was nice, gym was small and that's pretty much it. I wouldn't recommend taking kids. They were bored senseless. Maybe I'm a little young, but this place it great if you have literally nothing to do and don't want to do anything, either. The rooms we nice, but the cleanliness was less than satisfactory. Dust on shelves, and on fake plants. We were greeted with a used bottle and glass by the front door, which left us questioning if the lodge was already occupied. The food at breakfast was lovely, the staff were amazing, but I don't see the "leisure" side of a place with little leisure.
Fantastic experience: The sensitivity and diligence with which Park Farm managed our booking for a funeral party with rooms for guests, Celebration of Life event and large family dinner was unsurpassed. Dealing with stressed organisers, boisterous children and indecisive diners, they took it all in their stride helping turn what is inevitably a sad occasion into a joyous family event. The "country spa" is not my favourite choice of hotel (for a vacations I would tend to prefer more quirky, smaller town venues), but I really enjoyed my stay, the room was lovely (my only comment, I would have liked a 'fridge), the food exqusite and the bar well stocked, and being able to unwind in the pool and sauna was really helpful. A quick example, a glitch had a child left of a room booking, but the sofa bed was made up and sorted before we had even got upstairs with no fuss. They just made everything work! Thankyou. My only worry is how much my 12 yearold took to the 4* spa lifestyle
Fantastic experience: Really nice hotel rooms Very clean and spacious Lots of towels in the bathroom, lots of teas and coffe sachets in the room and water bottles Rooms were very nice Hotel staff were lovely and service was very good
Fantastic experience: Superb retreat just outside of Norwich in the beautiful Norfolk countryside. Carrow Road is just 20 minutes away so ideal for the footy. I booked the Ash Suite for 2 nights which was clean, quiet, spacious and had a large comfortable bed. We had massages from Megan and Laura in the Imagine Spa which were fantastic. The bar is well stocked with a range of drinks and the dinner in Seasons is absolutely worth it. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave the service is exceptional - every member of the team takes the time to ensure you have a great stay. I highly recommend Park Farm.
Fantastic experience: Great stay. Spa facilities were undergoing a revamp which seemed long overdue. Great room and food
Fantastic experience: My fiancé and myself had an overnight stay at Park Farm and we found the whole experience thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing. The room was excellent, nice and clean and very spacious, with a large and extremely comfortable bed. During our stay I had a massage and I genuinely didn't know that the state of relaxation I was in even existed! It was superb. We dined in the restaurant on site and the food was simply first class! An extremely good meal. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Fantastic experience: As with all my posts I will only comment on what I saw or services I used at the hotel. I was at a business meal here the food was very well cooked and prepared, the staff were all smartly dressed and very helpful. The place is clean and tidy inside and out those with walking aids or wheelchairs may need assistance as the corridors are quite long and tight. I rated the room on the stars for the Google algorithm as it is unfair to downgrade on something I didn't see or use.
Fantastic experience: Such a lovely stay, everything was perfect! The customer service out of this world and we had some added touches for my wife's birthday. Room had a lovely view and was really comfortable. We didn't eat here but had some drinks in the air which was really nice. Lots to do around here if you can get away from the spa! The grounds are lovely and they have a really nice walk around this huge hotel you can do.
Fantastic experience: What a gem of a hotel. From contacting the hotel before arrival, the personal touches in the room and the overall customer service, our weekend was fantastic. Jane & Tracy on reception were so helpful along with the waitressing staff, our room was beautiful and the small courtyard outside was so pretty. The spa itself was better than it looked on the photos, the pool was bigger, that never happens! The sauna & steam room both decent sizes too. We were booked in for dinner & where do I start with the food, WOW! I had the chefs special, scallops to start followed by the duck, both of which were absolutely divine. Large comfortable beds meant we slept very well & breakfast in the morning was lovely. All in all, a fantastic weekend away. I highly recommend this hotel & will visit again.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic spa hotel set in wonderful grounds. Great customer service and staff very friendly. Rooms are clean and to a very high standard. Gym, spa and pool very clean. The food was amazing in Seasons Restaurant for our dinner and breakfast. Staff very friendly and attentive. The bar is also a lovely area, with a conservatory casual dining area. We stayed 1 night, but wished it was more, and will definitely return and recommend to others. Many thanks.
Fantastic experience: My friend and I were booked in for the day as a birthday gift to me, we were not disappointed. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a very relaxing atmosphere, despite the current refurbishments. We used the pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi and found them all very clean. We also had lunch, which was really nice. Considering we had a later lunch than would be normal, it was served up freshly prepared. We both had treatments aswell, mine were carried out by a really lovely and friendly lady called Lydia. She really put me at ease and I came away very relaxed and refreshed. I couldn't recommend her enough, especially as this was the first time having 2 of the treatments today. This has got 5 ⭐️ from me and I'll definitely be returning.
Positive experience: We was disappointed with park farm hotel and leisure. Room had no usb socket we couldn't have door open at night as very noisy fans outside. We had a massage which was OK but basic. We used the pool got in and straight out the water was murky and edges by the water was slime. Not very appealing staff in leisure area seemed like they couldn't be bothered with anything. Reception ladies spot on very welcoming. Had a meal in Helena bar very nice staff bubbly and helpful. Food expensive but excellent. Overall rooms tired won't be coming back sorry ☹️
Positive experience: We visited for afternoon tea for 2 which was a birthday gift. The setting was lovely and food was ample. I found the sandwiches bland but the desserts were delicious. The sausage roll was my favourite element. Staff were polite and efficient.
Fantastic experience: I didn't stay but went with a friend and enjoyed a good hot chocolate with a chocolate brownie that was a cut above, it was soft, almost like a torte, rich and delicious. It's set in beautiful grounds and had spa facilities which I am yet to try.
Fantastic experience: Park Farm have an excellent gym and spa facility. I have not stayed in the rooms as I live locally. Having a membership allows me to use the leisure facilities which I take full advantage of. This is the first time I have eaten at Park Farm. It was a nice little bite and beautiful setting. I’m sure we will book in for a return dining visit and hopefully sit outside in the sun next time
Fantastic experience: This was our second stay here, both times for my birthday. It's a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We were given an upgrade this time which did not disappoint. The spa is lovely and I loved my treatments. Will definitely be back again!
Positive experience: We arrived on a two night Secret Escapes package. Our really comfortable deluxe room (46) was a long walk on the ground floor. But this was all part of the fun. The room was huge and so quiet and had excellent Wi-Fi. We had a £30 per head meal allowance. This was just as well because I thought the restaurant was expensive for the dishes we had. Against this, breakfast was superb. If you're thinking this hotel is in Norwich (we weren't) you'll be in for a shock. We caught the bus 501 from the Thickthorn park and ride a few miles down the road (£4 for two adults) and had a full day in lovely Norwich. We're doing a tour of English cathedrals so we were able to have a good look around the two in Norwich (and Chelmsford on the trip up, Bury St Edmunds and Brentwood on the way back). We were really impressed with Norwich. Because we spent so long on Norwich we didn't sample the delights of the pool or fitness area - typical us! One stand out point was I forgot my laptop charger. No problem, reception lent me a compatible spare at no cost.
Fantastic experience: We have just returned from a 4 day stay at Park Farm and we had the best time. myself and my husband and 7 year old son stayed in one of their lodges for 4 nights. The lodges are beautifully decorated and have everything you need, the beds were comfy, showers and baths hot, place was all clean and with lovely views you couldn’t want anything more (apart from a fire!) not for heat just for comfort in the winter months and this was the only thing i could think of that was missing. Breakfast is one of the nicest we’ve had, and for the evening meals, honestly you couldn’t have asked for nothing more, my son has a milk allergy and is fussy and nothing was too much trouble, we even ate from the restaurant menu for room service and the food came over piping hot and excellent. The menu was varied and with a specials menu too, you couldn’t go wrong. Then finally the staff, every single person was so helpful, friendly and attentive, the main group of staff we had were all very young, but they knew exactly what they were doing, were professional and friendly at all times a credit to the hotel and to be honest much better than some more expensive and higher rated hotel we have stopped at! Can’t wait to come back x
Fantastic experience: Great hotel. Beautiful rooms. Beautiful atmosphere. Beautiful food. One of the best breakfasts we have ever had. Great spa facilities. We will be back, thank you.
Positive experience: The room was lovely and the staff were fantastic. I have to say though, while they really try hard with the “fine dining” experience, reservations encouraged, showing you to your seat, explaining the wine pairings, attentive and charming, knowledgeable about the food etc - the food itself was at best passable. My wood pigeon starter was lovely, my sweet course was reasonable, but £30 for a roast dinner that reminded me of a school dinner and would get sent back in Toby’s was a bitter pill to swallow. The picture doesn’t show the side vegetables, which unfortunately was the best bit - but I believe it’s worth a thousand words.
Fantastic experience: All very nice but Jessica who works at reception is literally the nicest person I've ever met or spoken to. Absolute superstar of a woman and made us feel welcome, answered all questions we had and some we hadn't thought of. As the first person you meet when you walk through the door absolutely great experience
Fantastic experience: Stayed here last month but unfortunately only for one night, I am however coming back on Tuesday night for a few nights as working in the area again. My first experience was so good I am looking forward to returning next week and hope it will be just as good if not better. The only negative I have and of course it didn't impact my stay is I think the coasters need to be changed as the style they are impacts the smell of the glass, obviously it can be rinsed out but it took me ages to figure out where the smell was coming from. Staff very very friendly and put me at ease as a solo traveller. I ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was excellent. I had the ceasar salad with chicken and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Breakfast also was impressive and anywhere that serves eggs royale makes me very happy. I also wish there were bathrobes as that would be fantastic, more relaxing. I often stay in hotels and am looking to find a base in the Norwich so hopefully this can fit the bill again.
Fantastic experience: This hotel is amazing and absolutely hats off to all the wonderful, polite, professional staff who are amazing at what they do. It's such a nice location, food and service is great and the spa facilities and gym are also fantastic too. I would recommend this to anyone!!
Positive experience: Facilities not really what I would have expected for a premium venue as this. Changing rooms tired and in need of updating (female), and on the whole the pool area looked old and tired. Lounging equipment rusty and broken with bent screws sticking out and poorly performed plywood repairs. Jacuzzi was very nice, but pool was far too cold for a leisure pool, and many members were mentioning it is almost un-swimmable at times due to temperature. Would take a lot to convince me the price justifies the experience and return in the future.
Fantastic experience: Nice hotel in the countryside. Spacious bedroom and bathroom. Love the jacuzzi and the toiletries they use were of good quality. All very good except they really should've added a door to the shower so the water won't splash outside.. (the water will inevitably splash even if you shower carefully, though it won't make a puddle, just wet on the floor) - Breakfast was on point. They have a self served where you can get cereals or full English breakfast, and juices, etc. There's also a small menu where you can order egg Benedict/ royale, etc. - On arrival we had dinner at their restaurant. Nice decors especially in the bar area. We had lamb and seafood risotto, both delicious and we're presented beautifully but we preferred the lamb a little more. The dishes took a while to come out. It'd be a better experience if they serve some bread to the tables to make the wait more pleasant. All in all, it was a wonderful meal in a nice countryside hotel. - There's a bus outside of the hotel connected to the Norwich city center every 30 mins.
Fantastic experience: Really lovely hotel with plenty of parking. Service at reception was great and helpful. The room I had was very well presented and large. Clean as expected with a bath and shower on offer. I used the bar restaurant that evening and it was very good also in food quality and service. Cost around £50 for a 3 course dinner including steak.
Positive experience: I went for a Spa day, it was a complimentary drink, use of the facilities and a 15 minute treatment. I really do like it here the place always looks nice and well kept, the receptionist was helpful and guided me to the spa. My treatment was amazing I had a head massage and I was almost asleep! The pool was lovely the leasure team kept a watchful eye on swimmers for safety without intruding everyone. The leasure and Spa team were amazing. The time came for my complimentary drink and I was looking forward to relaxing and having some food, I was shown into the garden room...to where I waited 15 minutes and nobody appeared. I understand there were other things going on however, I did notice other staff passing by me and nobody thought to ask if I was OK or if I needed anything. I went to the bar and asked to be served and i felt bad but I was kind of thirsty. I was indeed promptly served after this however I didn't really feel I received 5star service that was advertised. Everything else however was lovely and at the end the girl who took payment was smiley and chatty so thank you. I'm afraid this isn't the first time the FOH team has been cold towards me on my visits they always seem abit disinterested but this is not all of them however there are some really lovely friendly people on your team working hard and I appreciate it.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful stay as always. Staff are excellent. The boutique room is stunning, me and my partner enjoyed a nice relaxing night in this room. 100% would recommend. Food is delicious too.
Positive experience: I love this hotel and have stayed a few times. Fantastic rural location, stunning grounds with lots of places to explore and plenty of outdoor seating where you can read and enjoy a drink (would be better if they did table service). The food is very, very good, if a little pricey. The last time I was here, access to the pool facilities was free although they’ve added a charge now which is annoying. The main thing which lets them down is the bed! The mattress and the pillows are so unbelievably hard. Definitely due for an upgrade. And while they are at it, add some plugs next to the beds so you can charge your phone while you sleep.
Fantastic experience: Myself and husband visited last week for 5 night stay to attend friends 50th wedding anniversary celebrations. We cannot speak highly enough of the hotel or stay,to find fault would be very difficult all the boxes were ticked by us. As we travelled by train we used the bus service which was very frequent. We had a very enjoyable stay Thank you
Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting, Paid for a spa but yet no jacuzzi was up and running and the swimming pool is disgusting small and smells, Staff are rude and over charged me by £50, Multiple inconveniences when checking out I communicated all the things that had gone wrong getting our orders wrong and multiple other things she walked off and when she came back as I was saying I just wanted to pay and go she said out of good will we will take off the £5 tray charge from part of your bill as I smiled she said or not it’s your choice. Rude staff unhygienic and just over all not what you expect for £500 for two nights
Fantastic experience: Enjoyed a spa day here as a treat. The service, treatment and whole experience was amazing. Staff all very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Clean changing rooms. Lovely garden room where we relaxed with a drink. One of the best back massages I've experienced and floated home afterwards. Thank you. We went during summer school holidays so there were a few children in the swimming pool.
Positive experience: Been a while since revisiting Park Farm and we were pleasantly surprised that this hotel has just got better. Great afternoon tea, only down side the amount of teas unavailable. Can't wait to go back again.
Positive experience: We stayed for one night and then had a spa day the next day for my husband's birthday. The spa was lovely, good facilities but the cleanliness wasn't great at all in the pool area and changing rooms. The pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi were nice to use though. The staff at the spa were so helpful and lovely. We had treatments done and they were incredible we will definitely be back to use the spa and have treatments. The changing areas had showers, toilets and large mirrors and hairdryers. All the staff were very pleasant and always helpful, very respectful and polite from when we arrived until we left. I booked a courtyard room so we were a bit more separate from the main hotel. However, the room was definitely not 4 star. It was very dated, the ceiling in the bathroom was very mouldy and inside the shower cubicle, paint was chipping off the door, water pressure was awful I couldn't even wash my hair in there and it took ages to heat up when we used the shower. Shower tray was dirty , taps were unclean and there was a large stain on the sofa. The facilities were really lacking, furniture and curtains very dated. No bottled water, no fridge, no access to plug sockets on the bedside tables, bathroom was very dated too. Bed wasn't very comfortable, very firm mattress and we didn't sleep at all. It was very uncomfortable but I know that might be down to preference on mattress. The shower head was covered in limescale. I paid extra for chocolates in the room and wasn't particularly impressed by the two small bars that were left, they were disgusting so unfortunately they went into the bin. (very expensive for what we received so would definitely not recommend this) No AC and the room was absolutely boiling, there was a small fan in the cupboard but with barely any plug sockets you couldn't really get it very close to make a difference. Iron, ironing board and the extra pillows in the cupboard were a nice touch but there was only one pillow on the bed each. We had a very old hairdryer which was screwed into the drawer, I assume people had been pinching them perhaps in the past. That was very poor, my husband struggled to even dry his hair and he had a skin fade so definitely take your own! We had a kettle and a few sachets of instant hot chocolate, tea bags and coffee. The coffee sachets were coffee bags which were vile. The remote didn't work for the TV which was really old too, so we couldn't use that. With just a few adjustments the room definitely could have been improved bringing it up to the 4 star rating it's advertised at. We didn't stay for food at lunch because we found the menu very limiting and it was very pricey for what was offered, we ended up going into Norwich instead. Grounds were lovely and it was really quiet. We did book breakfast the next morning which was amazing, lots to choose from, juice, continental breakfast and cooked breakfast. You can also choose from the menu. My husband ordered a latte which was an extra charge of £3.60 to the room. The staff, again, were amazing during breakfast service and nothing was too much hassle. We wouldn't stay again due to the room, but definitely for the spa and leisure facilities.
Positive experience: Was visiting family and had afternoon tea with my daughter for our birthdays. Tea and surroundings lovely as were the staff with the exception of one who obviously missed the staff training. She sounded like she was reading from a prompt card when delivering the 'tea experience' and must have been at the end of the queue when personality was given out! Not even a smile!! When we asked her a question at the end of the afternoon she had a mouth full of food and cldn't hide it. It maybe sounds a bit harsh but I do expect better especially when it is Park Farm.
Fantastic experience: Amazing all round! Such friendly helpful staff. Beautiful surroundings, quiet location just delightful. Rooms very well thought out, beautifully decorated and well equipped. Every inch of the premises (and gardens) immaculately clean and tidy and well cared for. Such attention to detail. Breakfast so well organised too. Food delicious and plentiful in a very tasteful dining room. Would go back there anytime!
Positive experience: Didn't stay the night hence the 1 star. We had an afternoon tea. It was very nice and service was very good. A little slow to come and clear away and provide the bill. But neither of those detracted from a lovely experience.
Fantastic experience: We enjoyed our stay at this hotel for my sons graduation. Our room was upgraded, we enjoyed a lovely lunch and dinner in the evening. It’s a lovely quiet setting surrounded by gardens where you can sit outside and enjoy a drink. We had a great chill out in the Spa, enjoying the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The staff are very helpful, nothing seems too much trouble and the service was excellent. We will be returning here and highly recommend it.
Fantastic experience: We stayed at Park Farm for our Ruby wedding anniversary, this hotel is far better than expected, the staff, food was fantastic, the setting is beautiful, when they found out it was a special wedding anniversary, they upgraded our room, which was a lovely gesture and totally unexpected. we would highly recommend Park Farm Hotel. Mr & Mrs Fisk
Fantastic experience: Me and my wife had a beautiful weekend Friday to Sunday at Park farm. (Boutique suite) Amazing hotel service. Fantastic accommodation 5 star Food to die for. Evening meals! Fantastic! Sunday roast spot on Beautiful! Fantastic breakfast! Leisure facilities amazing Spa facilities needs vast improvement Very disappointed with the service in the spa did not enjoy the experience overall would book this hotel and recommend. Mr Dunne
Fantastic experience: A really nice hotel and spa with gorgeous food. A lovely location with walks around the farm and fields. Shame the suites don't have air conditioning but the over head ceiling fans just about do the job.
Fantastic experience: Stayed here for a night with the wife, sans kids for a short break. A lovely room with a balcony which we even managed to use a little as we had good weather. At great meal on Saturday evening with friendly service - the pork belly in the duo of pork dish was especially succulent and delicious, and a decent breakfast. Used the spa facilities on Sunday morning with the pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna all getting some use. The pool room is a very airy wooden roofed building which is very welcoming.
Positive experience: This hotel was just fine. I had higher expectations for a 4-star hotel. The room we stayed in for 2 nights was at the end of a hall so it had a nice 1st floor patio. The food and drinks at the restaurant were really good. The pool, steam room and sauna were very nice. It was so easy to get to on the 13 bus line from Norwich. I had a chipped wine glass in my room to go with the wine I had specially ordered for arrival. Then another one in the restaurant the next night. The paint on the ceiling of our bathroom was peeling significantly and the shower doors looked like they hadn't been cleaned. The wifi was weak and we had to call someone to fix our TV. We were also disappointed that the spa was fully booked. Then when I reviewed my bill on checkout there were erroneous charges. More attention to detail would have been nice to make our stay better.
Fantastic experience: I use this place for my gym and swim, and it's great! Staff are always friendly and welcoming, equipment is limited but clean and new. The pool is a decent size, and there is a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. Parking is easy too. Would definitely recommend!
Positive experience: Stayed here for 1 night because of a family wedding , the venue and grounds are lovely as is the rest of the hotel , from the outside our room doesn't look anything but inside was spacious , clean and a large comfortable bed , the bathroom was spotless . The buffet meal for the wedding was great , albeit there could of been more for the amount of people to feed , my only main complaint is that we had to ask on several occasions for empty plates and glasses to be removed from tables , I asked at the bar in the venue room if teas and coffees were available and was told I would have to go through to their main bar and order them ( it cost me £12 for some teas , but after that teas were taken to other tables , I'm pretty sure they were a part of the venue package !! ) The room price and drinks seem a bit more expensive than other places but it is a lovely place to stay , the breakfast was excellent
Fantastic experience: Just a really really nice place to stay with comfortable, clean, spacious rooms, with good food available and friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is situated in a lovely setting and has a really gentle ambience which is very relaxing but is still in easy reach of Norwich with a convenient park and ride service just down the road at Thickthorn which takes you straight into the city centre. There is a spa and pool available but we didn't use them during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our nights stay a d wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Fantastic experience: Took my mum here for mother's day afternoon tea. The setting is amazing, so worth dressing up for. The decor in the other rooms is really well done also. The afternoon tea was perfect and dietary requirements were not only met but exceeded! We will be coming back to investigate the spa for sure. My only negative, if you can even call it that, was that we couldn't get the spoons to the bottom of the shot glasses that the parfait was in! Thank you!
Fantastic experience: First time staying here and we both really liked the hotel. Great spa/gym facilities and staff throughout all areas of the hotel without exception were attentive, professional and polite. Used the bar for dinner one night and restaurant for the other night. Bar food and drinks good value for money and delicious. Restaurant food also delicious but felt a touch over priced to be fair. Overalll a lovely 2 night stay, room was quiet, well equipped and comfortable. We will definitely return.
Positive experience: I’ve visited Park Farm a few times (for food, spa & events etc). I’m basing this review solely on my experience at Helene’s Lounge Bar, we visited for lunch on a Monday afternoon. There are a variety of options to choose from including light bites, sandwiches and larger main courses. Some vegetarian and vegan options although not loads. Staff were pleasant and friendly, the food was nice, the time for the food to come out was a little slow considering it was a Monday afternoon. I’m giving 5* instead of four as the portion sizes were quite small considering the price, giving that, I would visit again in future.
Fantastic experience: Went for afternoon tea. Gorgeous location. Ŕoom had recently been refurbished, a delightful, restful surrounding. Staff very friendly, helpful and considerate. The afternoon tea was very well presented especially the choice of tea, about 10 different blends to choose from. The food was delicious. First time I have seen wraps in the sandwich selection. All very fresh and delicious.
Fantastic experience: Had a 3 night break here. Lovely room overlooking the gardens with pond etc Room had a separate seating area which was nice. Beautiful food with some unusual choices . Service was great. Pool, sauna, jacuzzi & steamroom were a bonus. The whole place was immaculate. Rather than driving into Norwich town centre, we used the Park & Ride just up the road. Would wholeheartedly recommend Park Farm Hotel.
Positive experience: We stayed here for one night, and got upgraded to a suite which was amazing!! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and everyone is so lovely. However the food was subpar in the bar, unfortunately. Especially for the price! We ate half and decided to go into the city for food. We would recommend the hotel, just not the food in the bar.
Positive experience: Rooms and facilities first class. Loved the pool and sauna and steam room.Staff helpful and approachable. The evening meal not so value for money. The food was not hot and expensive for what it was. A little underwhelming to be honest.
Fantastic experience: Lovely hotel booked this for my husbands 60th Birthday when we arrived they had upgraded our room which was lovely and even left a Birthday card in our room. The hotel was lovely food was very good all the staff were very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble, the pool & spa area was really nice and enjoyable. Will definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to going back for another visit.
Positive experience: Lovely stay as before, the rooms are very smart and clean. The staff are very polite and helpful, great venue. Slight criticism was the hot breakfast was quite lukewarm and that was at the start of the service??
Fantastic experience: Lovely hotel. Quite sprawling, and a struggle for someone with health issues to get up the stairs with luggage, but some lovely seating areas to relax in and a really beautifully staged boutique feel. Our room was large with an art deco vibe and a lovely bathroom (free standing bath with jets!) Breakfast was good and the staff very friendly!
Fantastic experience: Great room, clean and everything you need. We had the boutique room. Staff were really friendly and helpful. James, the bar manage also makes a mean autumn mojito!
Fantastic experience: I recently photographed Charlie & Toms summer wedding at Park Farm, and it was a joy. Charlies prep room was big, bright and had a massive bathroom (helpful when you have loads of bridesmaids!) and the staff were superb. They were prompt, friendly and really helped everyone relax into the day. The hood light was a joy to work in too! Park Farm has a big car park, easily found off the A11 and has lots of rooms. Handy for guests travelling from far. The day ran without a hitch, and any minor issues were sorted before anyone noticed them (ideal!) Thanks again to Park Farm for being awesome and for Charlie and Tom for having me along for the ride!
Fantastic experience: Amazing hotel. In my top 3 for cleanliness, luxury feeling and great staff. Food was excellent, spa was beautiful, reception and restaurant staff super friendly and helpful. The cleaners of this hotel do a fantastic job. Holly prepared our room and it was spotless. I never usually feel comfortable in a hotel as I’m quite fussy but it was so clean. We made precious memories here and will definitely return. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: My friend and i didn't see each other for 2 years and this trip was to have a relaxing time and catch up. I was hoping the hotel be good but it was more than I expected, staff were wonderful, grounds were so beautiful, room was very clean and spacious . Wish the dinner menue would have more choices
Fantastic experience: Stayed here for our 2 year anniversary and it was lovely. We stayed in room 12 the boutique room and it was amazing! King size bed, large TV, bathrobes and slippers, coffee pod machine, jacuzzi bath, gorgeous LED shower, view of the pond. Pure luxury! We used the pool, jacuzzi and steam room which were all great and then had a lovely meal in the lounge bar and some drinks. Breakfast was so good and had plenty of options to choose from. Would definitely recommend and will be going back when we next get a chance. The only negative is that the iron in the room wasn't great, it burnt a big hole in the top I was going to wear for the evening meal and ruined it so won't be using them again. Other than that it was perfect.
Positive experience: Family reunion, which was held in a private function room. It's a beautiful building , with lovely gardens, and a very impressive drive to the car park. Didn't stay over night, so not able to comment on rooms, hence 4 stars. Bar service was excellent, and the food ordered for the children was served very quickly. There is also a Spa, which seemed to be very popular.
Fantastic experience: Best spa day experience in Norfolk! Fantastic friendly and very professional staff along with excellent clean facilities made this Spa/Hotel stand out from others. Loved that staff were genuinely happy, smiling and enthusiastic. They all went above and beyond to ensure we had a relaxing day. The facial by the wonderful beauty therapist Tamzin was truly outstanding. Our waitress who delivered our first class lunch to us in the beautiful garden lounge area was professional, warm and friendly. Another, Adrianne ? (hope I’ve remembered her name correctly) passed us in a corridor, smiled, had a chat about up coming events and wished us a lovely day. The bar manager offered to help find a water bottle I’d misplaced in the spa which I later found. It’s so refreshing to get first class customer service. Visit this hotel and spa if you want to feel truly pampered- you won’t be disappointed. Fabulous experience and will be booking again. Thank you! Tracy Anderson
Fantastic experience: Met up with a friend for lunch. We had lunch in the conservatory and really enjoyed it. There was plenty of choice, the food was lovely and the service faultless. We were the first to arrive and the last to leave (as usual!) but we felt no pressure to leave. If you want a relaxing lunch out in nice surroundings, I would definitely recommend Park Farm Hotel.
Negative experience: Hotel grounds, rooms, Spa & Pool were lovely and very clean, unfortunately the service and food really did not live up to our expectations, we booked afternoon tea, when we arrived in the bar we were seated and then just left for around 5 minutes, we were then asked if we would like anything to drink, we had been given no drink menus, so I asked for a drink menu and ordered some drinks for our table, the afternoon tea, is not really worth the cost, scones were rock hard, and Sandwich fillings a little odd, the selection could be a bit more varied, we booked a table in the restaurant for dinner, we arrived and were seated ordered drinks and food, I had to ask for tap water, vinegar and mayo twice as the first members of staff I asked forgot, food took around 40 minutes to come out to our table, the avocado bruschetta wasn't nice, the avocado (guacamole) seems to be the same as the supermarket dip you would have with nachos, we also ordered 2 beef burgers, the bacon seemed to have been cremated and was more like bacon crisps, and the burgers were homemade but seemed to not be cooked properly and were raw, the menu really lacks variety and doesn't match the hotel, we did complain and didn't eat the burgers, we were given 35% off the value of the burgers, total bill was around £80. Management really need to train staff in customer service skills & also teach them what a customer would expect, there seems to be alot of younger inexperienced staff around who don't really care, which is a shame, cause it let's the hotel down. We do live locally and would have revisited of the food was of good quality, but will not be returning and definitely wouldn't recommend.
Positive experience: Lovely rooms, decor and lounges. Spa is good. Food was great at breakfast and lunch in the bar, but pretty poor in the evening which let it down. Evening food is no way a 1 AA rosette and service in the restaurant is poor. Evening menu is poor so we went into the city for Dinner the 2nd night. Bar food at lunch and bar service was excellent though. Strangley they allow children to use the jacuzzi, sauna and steamer. Spa facilities are good and would visit again.
Fantastic experience: Was amazing , we had a lovely relaxing weekend All the staff there are lovely and attentive. The rooms were cool , clean and very comfy. The food was cooked to requirements, and could not fault anything, other than my weekend was too short.
Fantastic experience: Staff very friendly. Lovely inviting atmosphere. Very relaxing. Room was very spacious and super clean. Food was delicious as were the cocktails. Been coming to Norfolk for years staying at Dunston Hall but thought we'd try here. This is now our favourite and we look forward to returning soon
Positive experience: Mixed experience. Some rooms need updating and have flat mattresses (we got moved after complaining about the bed in the first room). Other rooms are very nice. Gym facilities are rusty and outdated. Spa area and showers are also a bit rusty and leaky. The experienced members of Staff are efficient, polite and friendly. No restaurant service on Mondays and Tuesdays, where instead they have outside catering trucks. When that doesn't work out, they struggle to provide basic replacement offerings. The front garden was full of weeds. Breakfast was good. Overall, it is a fairly nice place but needs more attention to detail to justify the price.
Fantastic experience: We stayed for a long weekend, attended a friends Wedding on the Saturday. We had a fantastic experience. The staff particularly Jessica on Reception and Sarah in the Bar and Restaurant were excellent. They were so helpful and made us feel extremely welcome. The quality of the food throughout the weekend was excellent, very tasty, very good choice. The Spa facilities were lovely and a great way to relax. We will definitely be coming back
Fantastic experience: A very pleasant place to stay with lovely surroundings. Rooms were very clean but bit outdated decor for my personal taste. Comfortable beds and a good breakfast with options of cooked food and continental buffet. A hotel's gym is not huge but you can find there a good selection of equipment. It was also great to use a swimming pool and a sauna. The food in restaurant was ok but Norwich city centre is not too far and it offers many options. I can recommend it!
Fantastic experience: I booked to stay her with my husband as a treat for his 60th birthday . On arrival the staff were very welcoming on reception and this continued throughout our stay where all staff with helpful and friendly. We stayed in The Beech Suite - what an amazing room - the pictures on the website don't do it justice . The food in the restaurants is reasonably priced and of a high standard . We will definitely be returning - we highly recommend a visit. If I had one issue to raise it would be that on the booking I did note it was my husband's 60th birthday this would've been nice to have been acknowledged with perhaps a complimentary bottle of wine !!
Fantastic experience: We have been coming to Park Farm for many years and are never disappointed. It was finally so lovely to come back again and was nice to see that there have been some refurbishment in some areas. All the staff never fail to be professional, polite, very friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. On our recent visit, we would like to name Rosie and Owen for still giving top class friendly customer service with a cheerful smile even during busy times. A special mention for Receptionist Jessica who made purchasing rings from the jewellery cabinet so much fun! I treated my husband to his first body massage and Kinga was highly skilled, professional and put him at ease. Highly recommend her. On the downside, although food was lovely, the price of a glass of wine at £9 we felt was a bit steep. The female changing room floor is still in need of regular hosing - I'm glad i took my rubber swimming socks. I'd like to suggest a magnification mirror in the rooms & a sign on the room exit door for guests to be respectful of other guests and not to slam their door on leaving their room.
Positive experience: Nice stay. Had a large room set up for 3 adults. Very clean, housekeeping team obviously very good. Service from staff was very mixed. Reception was efficient but not smiley, friendly or welcoming on all 3 occasions I spoke with them. Check in is fixed for 3pm and you can't get your room any earlier which was communicated in a very blunt manner. You can however use the leisure facilities or go to the bar which are great. Good sized pool and fantastic jacuzzi. The food was superb!!!! However, we booked a table in the restaurant believing the menu on line was for there, it wasn't, so we cancelled the table as it turns out it was the bar food menu, which I highly recommend!!! Also, when booking a room for the restaurant, if you like a specific place in the room, for example in a corner, be sure to specify at time of booking. When we originally arrived at the restaurant our table had been allocated, we asked if we could move to an equivalent table which was unoccupied. Apparently, this table had already been allocated to another party of 3, although they weren't there, so we couldn't move. Unfortunately the explanation of why this wasn't possible didn't make any sense. But all was fine as we ended up with a lovely table in the bar where the food was amazing and the atmosphere somewhat more relaxed. Service was ok but not to the standard experienced in other hotels, however everyone was polite. For the price of the room we had expected gowns and slippers. There weren't any so we requested some when we were at the pool. Be warned, this isn't straight forward. The gowns and slippers for rooms are supplied through the hotel NOT the spa, so easier to just ask at reception. However, on check out, we were told there was an additional charge for the gowns and slippers. As I wasn't made aware of this when requesting them, I was obviously not happy to pay and they did waive the fee. I don't often write lengthy reviews but I found there were lots of little things that could have easily been avoided, perhaps through a more customer focused approach. The overall stay was good, we slept well and the gardens surrounding are really are amazing, well kept and really worth spending some time in. I would happily go back for a meal in the bar, but I don't feel, for the price of the room, which had a view of a barn like building and a caravan, a stay there is worth repeating.
Positive experience: The service was great from the start. The staff were extremely helpful and went beyond to assist us. They had great mannerisms throughout and done things with a smile and good attitude. We had a problem with our room at one point and they moved us which was nice. The hotel as well as the room were clean! Our open plan room was very romantic and the spa bath was a great touch. The room service was good as well as the food provided. My husband and I definitely enjoyed our time there for our anniversary.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely perfect. Really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Such a great atmosphere. Exquisite food too. The only reason that I didn't rate the guest rooms, was that I didn't see them. Definitely going back soon to swim, spa and a spot of lunch.
