Chesham Moor Gym & Swim

Fantastic experience: Great booking system. Fantastic gym — heard they’re doing refurbishments. Swimming pool is really nice too. BUT — best thing of all — the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming!

Negative experience: We travelled from Hemel yesterday looking forward to go swimming in the lido however, when we arrived at the lido expecting it to be quiet as it was a Thursday. However, when we arrived we were told that the pool was “full”. We where extremely disappointed as the staff where quiet unhelpful and we had wasted all that time travelling.

Positive experience: Good swimming pool nice to swim in but staff members can be a bit rude at sometimes

Fantastic experience: Chesham Moor swim and gym is simply amazing and absolutely my favourite daily routine. I feel so much better for discovering the benefits of a regular swim and my sleep pattern has improved enormously. Lovely friendly staff and always beautifully clean.....we are just so, so lucky to have this facility. Thanks to everyone who makes this possible as its very much appreciated.❤️

Positive experience: A wonderful oasis by the delightful Chesham Moor. A very different place from the rest of the town. 15 mins walk from the underground. Shame that you can only book in advance and online. The process isn't the most straightforward, but worth persisting.

Negative experience: The pool was very nice but the staff are awful they kept giving us dirty looks and it looked like they were talking about us I also was with my kid then the staff was forcing us to swim as I was teaching my kid to swim

Negative experience: The pool was lovely but as soon as we walked in the staff was giving rude looks and started to question us as me and my son went in the pool the staff keep asking me to swim while I was teaching my son to swim

Positive experience: Water is a bit cold and could do with a spruce up, ie dated changing rooms and the lining of the pool is lifting in the shallow end, but, everyone is so friendly

Fantastic experience: I’ve only used the pool - this is that rare beast, an outdoor heated swimming pool. Very much of a community resource, there is a very friendly old fashioned atmosphere. It’s also very well organised & runs with 4 spacious lanes when lane swimming is offered. Strangely the pool is 25.8 metres long. I haven’t yet found out why. You book & pay with credits online via an old fashioned app which is nevertheless easier to navigate than the big operators like ‘Everyone Active’

Fantastic experience: Went with family they loved it. I was a spectator but it is great. Two lifeguards on duty . An hours swim great for all but especially the kids. It also has a small but adequate playground next door. It is open all year round.

Positive experience: Great staff and new pool lining make this a fun outdoor pool and you can overlook the smelly changing room (men's). They set up the lanes before our family hour was finished, squeezing us into 1 lane. Then an elderly regular lane swimmer didn't care, forcing my 2 under 10s to move as he 'had' to get his lap in... rude.

Positive experience: Great heated pool for all year swimming. Lovely helpful staff that have been there for years. Bit of a community spirit there which is lovely. Still use the old cage/baskets to place personal items and clothing in ,storage on outside sheltered racks . Clean pool , beautiful ,therapeutic,swimming experience .Good showers when you get nice hot water . Only downside is big cobwebs constantly in womens changing rooms, and wet floors as they allow people to walk in muddy footwear so they have to keep hosing floors down,so a challenge to get dressed without clothes or towel getting wet trailing into puddles!

Positive experience: Great little gym and 25 meter pool which is set at 28 degrees all year round. Nice little gym with enough equipment to do most workouts. Opens at 6am during the week and 8 am at the weekend, my place of choice for early morning workout.

Fantastic experience: Have been going here for many years now (mainly the gym and occasionally swimming) such a lovely environment & the staff are super friendly! It’s a good gym for people who prefer quieter places (smaller than most gyms) but usually pretty empty in the day - gets busier during evenings like all gyms. The swimming pool is lovely as well x

Positive experience: Lovely heated outdoor pool. Friendly team and other members. My only gripe would be that the booking system uses credits instead of cash, which means you have to hi through two steps to pay rather than one, which seems a bit pointless.

Fantastic experience: Have been swimming here for 8 years and it is such good value for money. Staff are always friendly. So refreshing to have a pool actually managed by the council and not contracted out to a private company who are only interested in your direct debit details.

Fantastic experience: Debut swim at Chesham Moor yesterday. The Team have set up a competent and efficient system to manage covid / social distancing. Pool was lovely and warm, clean and the limit on numbers made for a pleasurable experience. There is a no overtaking rule for lap swimming which I thought could have been relaxed a little given there was one person in the fast lane who was clearly much faster than the rest of us and who's swim was impacted by this rule.

Positive experience: Small friendly gym. WYSIWYG. Pool, small gym and tennis court next to large moor and refreshing forest walks.. not bad for the price

Positive experience: Cute historic little gym and swim that saved my life over lockdown at a decent price (both included in a £25 a month charge). Although small in space and low on equipment this is by far the best gym I have ever been a part of in terms of vibe and ease. Great staff, no egos, the rooms are light with big windows and the few machines are pretty decent. It all goes to make this the kind of place I genuinely enjoy coming back to. However, If you're a serious gym head, like space or require lots of floor room this probably isn't the place for you! I haven't been for a swim yet but it looks ruddy delightful. Well recommended

Positive experience: A little piece of history with the open air pool dating back some time. It's run by the Local Town Council and benifits from low rates. Only one pool for which non swimmers need assistance. No lockers, a wire tray is provided to store your belongings by the pool. It is great in the summer and quite special when the sun has gone down in winter to swim under the stars but it's not a warm pool. Often events in summer bbq etc. To keep an eye out for and a nice play area for kids outside for free. Small seating area inside with soft drinks available. Changing rooms are small and looking a bit run down now. Gym is good value but quite small, doesn't take many to make it a wait for equipment. Not a great deal of weight equipment generally 1of each of the common items and 3 of each of the common aerobics. No didcated doorstep parking but 1min walk is the Moor car park which is free.

Positive experience: Went there for an afternoon swim. Turned up for the last hour our first time there. Amy helps us with everything and was very confident and professional. Lovely little pool only lost a star a the ladies showers where not great. Cold and very weak pressure.

Fantastic experience: Love this heated outdoor pool. They use a different water treatment to chlorine so it’s kinder in your eyes. Very old fashioned, no lockers, but wire baskets for your clothes, like it! Have swimming stuff for sale and a gym, tennis courts, free parking and good value!

Positive experience: Lovely open air traditional warm pool with great friendly staff. Very busy as you may expect once the sun comes out - full of people, with queues at the door. Plenty of lifeguards to cope with the demand, credible marks to the management. During previous summers, baskets of flowers have adorned the walls. Murky water though and if you can see it, don't look closely at the bottom - needs a good clean! Grumpy customers - reserving chairs.. akin to Benidorm towels at dawn!

Fantastic experience: The staff are very friendly and helpful. The amenities are great. You feel like your in holiday when you ho for a swim and the little cafe is great when it's open. The gym is friendly and easy to use after your induction. They even have tennis court's to hire.

Positive experience: I attend this gym. This is a Great gym but the space here is limited. It has the essentials but it could do with some extra equipment for example a decline bench that could be used for bench press and maybe adjusted for decline sit ups. I think for the money it is probably the best in terms of membership and being cost effective In the area. Full Members here paying £25 PM get access to swimming gym and tennis courts at no extra cost. So you get more for your money. The greatest thing is there is no long term contract so if you change your mind your not stuck with a fee for leaving.

Positive experience: The outdoor pool is amazing, and the gym is adequate. Don't expect much from the changing rooms though.
